An interesting but unnerving cache! We gathered the required info and quickly moved on! Tftc
After the sand flies, this cache gave us a second reason to be leaving the area post haste. Like a previous logger, fog made it hard to answer all the questions. Visited with bektheraccoon, TFTC!
We stopped here on our way to Haast. The weather was quite bad, so we had poor visibility. Made one of the questions difficult to answer. Nevertheless, thanks for this cache.
It's day five of my 3-week bucket list road trip around South Island, and today, I'm heading from Fox Glacier to Wanaka via the Haast Highway.I must admit I felt a bit nervous stopping at GZ ... is today the day? Then I figured it didn't matter where I am in this part of the world (as I will be for the next few days) if the thing actually happens. Thanks for highlighting the risks that New Zealanders face from their country being located in a geological danger zone.
I stopped along the road on my way to Haast as I enjoy learning about our great country and what makes the world go round. I was fascinated by the figures I learned in my research on this cache. I was aware we were overdue for another big "shake up," but I didn't realize how close we actually are according to science. Thank you for placing this earthcache for me to learn a little about our great country.
Day 23 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc and today we drove from Queenstown to Fox, a long drive with a couple of stops along the way.Its getting late but time for one more - especially seeing as we didn't have to get wet. Robmc is sending in our answers. Thanks for contributing to our amazing holiday
Ankh-Morpork is too much. Its loud, rude, and slightly mad. But its also alive, a living, breathing beast, a place that doesnt want you to love it, just to understand itor at least respect it enough to survive it. You cant fight it, not really, but if you learn to walk its crooked streets without looking for straight lines, itll give you a place to stand. And that, I suppose, is what keeps me coming back.
CaptainVimes and I have crossed the pond to attend the Geo Toroa mega in Dunedin and tour around the South Island for two weeks. We came from Wanaka so perhaps did this the wrong way around. Thanks TBelden and happy caching
