We spent ages searching for this one earlier and when we completed the rest of the geoart with some time to spare before we had to head back to Wellington for our flight we decided we couldn't leave with just one piece of the apple missing so came back. Last time my gps was definitely pointing to the middle and other side of the road which is where I concentrated my search. This time it was definitely pointing in the other direction when we pulled up so I followed arrow and found the cache immediately. Yippee that is a relief. Thanks NZ_B and your team of apple munchers for creating a fun trail.#17320

While we had no trouble with the math we spent absolutely ages looking for this one earlier in the day. As we had some time up our sleeves we decided to come back for another look and so pleased we did! On the first visit both our GPS pointed to the middle of the road. We searched both sides and only came up with beer bottles, cans and the keys to the locked gate. The farmer was also doing something on the other side of the fence which was a bit off putting. On this return visit both our GPS favoured one side more than the other and paddle chick found the cache immediately. Yippee indeed - this was our last bite of the apple and now it is a beautiful piece of golden geoart etched on my geocaching map. Thank you so much NZ_B for all the effort you have put into it and your supportive Apple Munching Crew. TFTC # 22,725

We made a trip from Auckland with Team Welsh to find the two new Wairarapa geoarts. Yesterday we found the Nifty Swifty's on a fine winter's today. Today was the turn of the Apples, and we were not so lucky with the weather, but we still managed to find them all. Most were straightforward but there were more than a few that needed everyone to search. We had made a plan to collect all the Apples with the least backtracking, and best parking, and it worked well.Another Wherigo solve with a slight twist. TFTC

We were on a caching trip with KC to sign off all the solved puzzles in two geoart series. Today was the turn of the apple. 100% find rate today = a good days caching. Mrs KC did all the driving, Mr TW and Mr KC did most of the hopping in and out and when it was on the right side of the road, I did the honours. We soon got into a rhythm and although some caches were trickier than others to find we found them all.***No problems with getting the final coords for this one, one of the things I teach at school is maths, so a good one for me to solve***

Headed over the hill again today with tmann421 to gather the remaining apple caches.Left Waikanae at 0630 in the dark so we could make the most of the daylight hours in the Wairarapa.Enjoyed the finds some taking longer than others to locate, but all that were attempted today were found.Signed logs tm/ww NZTFTC

#15,161. Enjoyed solving this puzzle Wherigo based in Morison Bush. Park, walk and grab at the final GZ, where it was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.*Thanks for the puzzle Wherigo and geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*---### LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!! ###On **May 3rd, 2025**, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in **Rotorua, New Zealand** with a special **Block Party** event. I decided Id take advantage of a lovely day and head over the Remutakas and find a cache or two for the winter solstice. I ended up getting a baker's dozen and a brace. Maths and yippee are not two words i'd usually use in the same sentence, but no worries with the solve or finding the cache. TFTC

#2761. Day 3 of our Kings Birthday weekend in Greytown, and still my flu lingers. Yesterday was a washout, figuratively speaking, for caches. Instead I spent most of the day on my motel bed.Today, it was time to start the return home, but first I just had to grab some more of the solved Apple series, and targetted some Mysteries and a couple of Reverse Wherigos (which are still something of a Mystery to me!)This was the first - a nice easy find as it turned out. Found at 11.28. I honestly I wasnt sure whether accessing the Wherigo cartridge was required once I got to GZ, or not. Turns out not. I see TwigNZ was here yesterday (he hadn't logged when I was here.)Anyway, good to knock this off. I am more confident about finding future Wherigos in the series now. Tftc NZ_B.

It's a long weekend in NZ, due to someone having a fake birthday. I care not one iota for that, but will happily take a paid day off work to go geocaching Very HappyI'd spent the last couple of days in Palmy, and the plan for today was to head back to Wellington using the scenic route (IE through the Wairarapa) in order for me to target as many of this new Apple geoart as I could get, and as many others as I would need to achieve finding 50+ for the day, to help me with my qualifying for the DGSc Challenge. So having stopped for a bit in Pahiatua, and Masterton, I was now in the environs of Greytown...This was one of the reverse wherigo puzzles that I was able to tackle and solve when it came out, but wasn't able to head over fast enough to get the FTF. But getting it today has helped me in a different way SmileThe find itself was straightforward, although the cache wasn't the first thing I found. Without a Hint, my cache instincts first took me to the fence where I discovered the keys for the locked gate! The owner may want to hide those elsewhere. No issues signing the log, or replacing it back as found for the next finder, before jumping back into my car to head off for my next search. Thanks for setting this one up.

**21,272**Of course, even though Mr Geckoh had read the previous finders logs, he still checked the wrong end first before carrying on to the right end and finding the cache, just lying there I mean, what else would it be doing but lying there. TFTPC

Up bright and early (7:30am) for a bash at all 75 caches with Bruzie (Signed log as BC). Managed 73 of the 75 as we couldn't solve one and didn't have the appropriate kit with us for one up a tree. Finished and back home before 5pm including a good 45 minute lunch in the middle of the day in Martinborough. Thanks for all the puzzles (some really simple to some excruciating mind boggling) and the finds. Searched the wrong end first and then found it under the other end just lying there.

It's apple scrumping time! A day trip over to skindo/swifty/apple land to clear as much of the new geoart as possible, in the company of CrystalFairy. Logs signed as BC.Quite the little hider this one.All good here, and thank you to NZ_B for the placement of your Wherigo Cache.Find #6790 at 26 May 2024 10:08am

A lovely sunny day, and having solved quite a few of the puzzles in this series, it was worth taking a day to come over the hill and find some of them. A quick find here. I'm really enjoying these caches and the puzzles are great fun - thanks to all those who have spent time and effort in setting them up! Signed log, TFTC

On a fine and sunny autumn day Flowerydaze and I set off for the Wairarapa to solve some of the puzzles in the latest Geo art series. It was not long before we started to make in roads on the list of caches we had earmarked for today. We managed to complete a swift park and grab in the end. Thanks for the effort of all the puzzle contributors and the caches.

Maths - not my strongest subject at school. We had a few wet days when this series was published, so what better time to sit and solve the puzzles - or at least try to! The puzzles were very varied and interesting, and a lot of thought has gone into them. With enough solved puzzles to make it worth driving from Kapiti over the hill, Talla64 and I picked the first opportunity to go and find them. We'll be making another visit in the not too distant future.Thank you very much to all the COs involved in this series, your efforts are much appreciated. Good co-ords made a nice quick park and grab at the final - thank you for the cache and for the puzzle.

[FTF] @ 12:07The Wairarapa is now the Big Apple of New Zealand. The cache: Found exactly where the coordinates told me it would beThe puzzle: A little bit of math followed by some quick triangulation had me the coordinates I needed. The story: Wednesday morning, a mysterious new geocache publication appeared, and disappeared, hinting to something that may be coming. Thursday morning at 8:00am another single new geocache publication appears, and stays, clearly stating that something was coming. At that point in my day, I took a gamble and having been working some long hours in the past month I cashed in some SGTO (Spontaneous Geocaching Time-Off) and headed over the hill. Thursday morning at 9:00am (as I was still driving) my gamble paid off and my phone (literally) exploded with the notifications of 74 more new geocaches in the (predicted) shape of a shiny big (blue) apple.I stopped off at the side of the road to plan my attack and saw that the top was a green leaf made up of 13 traditional hides, and that the main body had 20 reverse Wherigo's evenly distributed (every third one) among a variety of puzzles. So good! I hit the traditional ones first, then after some roadside solving got a chunk of the Wherigo's. Things slowed down after that as I alternated between solving puzzles and finding geocaches. I kept going until 2am Thursday night, and then was up again at 7am Friday morning for the last few I had before I had to leave the area.Recent events in my life have had me adopt a new mantra (that I found in a geocache in Kapiti) of "Today I choose to be happy". Today the choice was easy. I had an amazing couple of days of driving around, solving puzzles, and hunting for (and finding) geocaches. It's easy to be happy when you are geocaching.---Many thanks to NZ_B for the huge amount of thought, care, and effort that has gone into creating this beautifully put together geoart, and to all the cache owners and reviewers (from all over the world) of The Apple Munching Crew who contributed their time to the effort. A fantastic addition to the New Zealand geocaching landscape.[DGSc-Fast] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.
