10:01I collected n0w0rries at what was seriously a more civilized hour than the last couple of outings, for a nice drive in the hills.Well, we tore out another what seemed like an acre of ivy and wandering whatever. I think we all earned our snags and cakes again. Thanks, Rabbitto, for another successful gardening venture.#8936
Again I have it on very good authority that I am looking forward to climbing up and down the paths (have they installed escalators yet). I am also advised that I am happy to help. TFTC.
I enjoyed cleaning up the gardening with cachers. Nice weather to do the work with dirty boots. Thanks Rabbitto for the CITO event ??
Attended the CITO at the George Tindale Memorial Gardens. Its a lovely place in the hills looked after by a dedicated friends of group. We had a big turn up today and the weather was fine for a bit of weeding. Thanks Rabbitto for organising
What a lovely morning of pulling out Ivy and Wandering Dew by a great crew of people. A lot of work was achieved. I was talking to one of the ladies from Friends of the George Tindale Gardens on the way back to the finishing point and I understand how happy they are with the work we achieve in such a short time. Thanks for organising this CITO Rabbitto.
**25/06/2024 10:53:00Find #5852CITO Find #25**A very well organised and attended CITO. It had been quite some time since I last attended a CITO but I'll redress that in the coming months. Many hands made for light work and we made an appreciable difference. Morning tea was put on by the Friends and was delicious. The sausage in bread was an unexpected treat. **Thank-you to Rabbitto for hosting this event.**
My objective for today was simple, to find my geocache find number 6666. However, I had a number of other side tasks too. To collect more clues for the 'Nice Day for a Cache' and the '13th Cache'. To find more caches to help with challenges I am working on. Specifically, oldies, multicaches, a DT of 2.5/2.5, and of course an Event and CITO on this month and on the 25th. A good day out with no DNFs, 4 Lab locations, and 26 geocache finds.I hadn't been to George Tindale Memorial Gardens before, and it is a lovely place. I got to enjoy it while pulling out Ivy and Wandering Dew and chatting with a bunch of great geocachers. The section where I was really didn't look the same when we finished. Thanks for the cache, Rabbitto.HunterPS. Woohoo, my first CITO ever in June.
It was nice to be back again to these gardens, and with a large contingent of geocachers, much good work was achieved. The pile of weeds at the end was huge. Thanks to Rabbitto for organising and to the friends of the gardens for the food.
Of course Mary & David were there. We've been in the city for a few days, so thought we could add these Events. Wonderful to see so many friends and meet others for the first time. We haven't been here before. Our thanks to Rabbitto.
Wow! What a steep terrain! I was surprised to see some of the azaleas in flower already- in the depths of winter. I could see why we were so needed when I saw all the ivy, Wandering Trad and other weeds smothering the garden beds. Gee, everyone worked so hard and made a big difference! But theres still lots of work to do! We will be back, some time! Thanks for bringing us here.
Find # 10,298CITO # 112I have never missed a Rabbitto CITO yet. Well, OK, there has only been one so far, but it did receive international acclaim. ??Another great turnout here today, and it seems we did make a significant impact on the Ivy and Wandering Jew in these garden beds.Thank you for organising this event and thanks also to the Friends of George Tindale Memorial Garden for the excellent feed and chat afterwards.
We too attended this event this morning. We got out there early to get set up and it was good to see that some other geocachers who had had trouble in traffic on our last event here had had a much better run today and were thus, also early. Once 9:30 rolled around, we headed down to the garden beds that were the target of todays weeding (which were adjacent to the beds from last time) and for the next hour and a quarter, everyone got stuck in. By the end of time, the pile of weeds was huge. The perspective of the photos shooting uphill over the pile does not do it justice but all those there will know just how big it really was. The friends of George Tindale Memorial Gardens are a great bunch of people and do an absolutely bang up job but they cannot get to everything all the time. That is why, when another great bunch of people - Geocachers of Victoria - are able to come in for a CITO and collectively knock out over 24 hours of weeding in a short space of time that everyone gets a real boost from the changes that are made.We have now held an Autumn and a Winter CITO here and if you think that the park looks pretty now, just wait till you see it in spring time. To that end, we hope to continue on and we aim for the third iteration some time in September, so watch this space. Thanks to the huge number of people that attended, especially those who travelled a great distance to be here. This was our 150th cache event that we have attended in Australia**Event Cache Statistics**Event Caches Attended - 151**Event Caches Attended Australia - 150**Event Caches Attended Victoria - 142Event Caches Attended Yarra Ranges - 7Event Caches Hosted by Rabbitto - 7Event Cache CITO Attended - 18Event Cache CITO Victoria Attended - 17Event Cache CITO Attended Yarra Ranges - 2Event Cache CITO Attended in June All Years - 3Council Districts in which we have Attended Event Caches CITO - 10Council Districts in Victoria in which we have Attended Event Caches CITO - 9Event Caches Attended in June All Years - 11Event Caches Attended on Unique Days in June - 8 of 30Event Caches Attended on 25th Any Month - 8Event Caches Attended on Unique 25th All Months - 6 of 12**Event Caches Attended on 25th June Any Year - 1**Event Caches Attended on Unique Days in Calendar - 101 of 366
I finally had some time free and I decided to get up and head across town for these events. Fortunately I was heading against the traffic so it was just a little over an hour to make the distance. Its amazing what a group of geocachers can achieve in an hour. A great effort by all involved.A big thanks goes to Rabbitto for taking the time to add George Tindale Memorial Gardens CITO - Winter to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.-Are you ready for Victorias next big event?Join us for Victorias first ever *Block Party* to celebrate 25 years of geocaching.**When:** March 22 - 23, 2025**Where:** Hume Global Learning Centre, SunburyLog your will attend at [**GCAP417: The Sunbury Event** ](https://coord.info/GCAP417) Visit our [**Block Party website** ](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/the-sunbury-event) for more details on the exciting lineup of events and activities as they are released!
A well organised CITO where we managed some weeding in a large area. We got stacks done but there is more to do next visit. Thanks Rabbitto for co-ordinating this collaboration in a lovely area. Hope this one makes the HQ blog too!
I attended this CITO today and was pleased to see the number of attendees. With everyone's help, it was clear that a significant difference was made here. Thanks Rabbitto for organising and thus allowing us to have a positive outcome on the area.
What a great turn out! Loads achieved in the gardens, great company and the sun was shining. Where else would you want to be?
As I was advised I thoroughly enjoyed helping out. Sorry I left early. Thanks for the company and for organising this event. TFTC.
Unable to bend I came with another plan, armed with my leaf blower I cleaned paths, two of the volunteers approached me and thanked me as it really needed doing. Thanks Rabbitto for the Cito.
Im hoping to make it to this one, although currently a tentative will attend.
