(10486) Up the coast this morning to increase my cache count. A quick find but I am not that keep on bordering neighbours throwing their green waste over the fence onto public land. Thanks Macfam41 for taking the time to place the cache and for bringing me here.
I remember reading about the cannon ball in the local paper, what a cool thing to find. Never visited this spot before, good to go somewhere new. The cache was a nice quick find, no sign of dog or neighbours. Afterwards I wanted to see where the track went so I had a little loop through the lupins which took me to the lagoons and near where I'd parked the car, nice. TFTC
I had some time while up this way this morning to find a cache or two. Managed to do my planned circuit, before the weather turned. After looking in a number of places where the cache wasn't I glanced in the right direction and there it was. TFTC
I think I've been here before but I'm not sure why. I think it might have been while trying to find a route to somewhere through this reserve which turned out to be impassable. No problem getting to this cache though. Although I did pass someone out doing some gardening on the way up who was in line of sight of GZ. However, after saying Hello on the way by they were facing he other way the entire time. Once again I managed to make hard work of finding the cache which was in a place a normal person probably looks first. An unexpected view of sorts from up here which was nice. TFTC.
Making my way home to Wellington from Wanganui today, and it's too nice of a day not to stop for some geocaches, so I did and this was one of them.No real problems locating the cache, although I did get a few punctures in my fingers searching in the wrong spots first.---Thanks to Macfam41 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
Hello Macfam41,Another day, another Cache.Together with Dr Donna travelling through New Zealand. We arrived at Auckland Airport and made our way up north. After visiting Cape Reinga we went on our way South to reach Stewart Island with stops in many different Citys all over the country. Of course we have an open eye for nice Caches but take what we can get. Today we came across your Cache and signed the logbook with our names or took pictures for Virtuals and Earthcaches. Its great how many nice spots we are able to discover through our journey and how many of them we only See because of Geocaching! Thanks for bringing us to this place and takeing care for the geocache. Liebe Gre und vielen Dank fr die Hege und Pflege deines Traditional Cache! -moge-#############Der Cache "Cannon Ball Run - (Kapiti)" von "Macfam41" war fr mich Cache 6651. Sunday drive down to Kapiti Coast to find some newer caches in this area. Thanks Macfam41 for the cache.
Found with woolwood9 when the rain had cleared for a while this afternoon.Soon had the container in hand and log signed.Dogs over the fence did bark at us but we were only there for a minute or so.SL *tm/ww NZ*Thanks for the cache!
Found with Flowerydaze while on an outing in Waikanae on a fine day after all the rain we have had.As others had noted it was a rather exposed bit of real estate but it wasn't long before Flowerydaze put her hand on it. TFTC Macfam41
Out and about with Talla64 finding caches. Added a collectible pathtag of a rabbit. Thanks for the cache Macfam41.
Visited here but not sure if I was using the right approach as there were quite a few brambles and I hunted between them as best I could but still got slightly attacked.Search abandoned when the neighbour's barking dogs drew attention to my presence. Was hoping to visit Thomas the Goose but it would have put me at risk of missing my bus and it only runs every hour on the half hour.
Hummed up Transmission Gully in a good test of the restored Wattmobile. Interesting story. I felt exposed towering over the fence, then a yappy dog started up and approached the other side of the fence but I found the cache quickly enough and got out of there
A bit of time after a meeting, so off to find a couple of recently-placed caches. An easy find, but got bitten by a rather nasty plant (careless of me!). Thanks Macfam41 for placing it here -nice views over the lagoon area.
For once Im at home in Waikanae when a new cache is released, and its close to where I live. After getting a heads-up, I didnt waste any time, and raced out the door. Arriving at GZ a few minutes later, it did take me longer than it should to find the cache, as for some reason I began my search in the unlikeliest of places. Up and down I went trying to avoid looking suspicious as there were a few people in their back yards. Eventually I realised the error of my ways and changed my perspective, and was p,eased to spot a familiar object. Thanks Macfam41 for the cache! Pleased to get an [FTF], so FP from me.
By pure chance I was in the area this afternoon, although not so close that there was any likelihood of my scoring a FTF. Arrived about 3pm, a quick find in the second place checked. Signed log, TFTC.
