Find #: 3,787Companions: NoneMuggles: Some walkersWeather: Warm spring morningCache condition: GoodI decided to explore some of the less-traveled trails in the forest, with a diversion to visit this cache (on a medium-traveled trail?). GPS at GZ isn't great, and I wasn't quite sure exactly which object was being referenced, but it didn't take too long to find the container - cute! TNLNSL TFTC
I used to walk in this bushland 3 or 4 sometimes 5 times a week with my geodog for years and years as I lived very close. It's a great place to walk in the bush without actually walking in the bush as the tracks are well made and wide. Now I rarely come here. This morning it was drizzly so my activity was cancelled which meant there was an opportunity for surprise friends visit, and then a visit to Cumberland State Forest. It looks quite different these days but the bushland is still excellent. The GPS was suggesting one way to reach GZ but I followed a track I knew and was soon within a few metres of GZ. I could see somewhere worth inspecting and soon spied the cache. This hide reminds me of the PT in Jilliby and the type of hides and camo along it.TFTC # 6330
As it was a nice day i decided to park on the street and walk in. At the GZ i only needed a quick look around before seeing a likely spot and i soon had the cache in hand. Thanks. #1831
Found with 10 minutes to spare before the gates get locked. A rather quick find amongst the forest of moss. If only GeodogZelda could be here to help us out. TFTC
Needed some caches for the day to increase the numbers on this date. So did some caches around our old stomping grounds of our teenage years (long ago). Loved finding this well made container. Thanks for this cache hide go to beautifulsky13.
Just doing a bit of caching around the West Pennant Hills and Beecroft area. Found this cache OK with goingplaces2 and added two names to the log. TFTC.
I finally had no excuses today, and drove past the main entrance which is open 7 days a week. Found a park and walked down a short trail, before arriving at the area cryptically described. At GZ the cache glowed in the dark matching the vibrant moss of the area. Really cool. Unfortunately the Zelda references are lost on me. Nice construction. Impressed! 3TF
Dry that tear, OZB.The forest which you seek entry to is indeed open 7 days. Heed NOT the opening hours listed on Google. The opening hours have been added in the cache description for clarity.
How is a park closed on the weekend Edit: I went on Sunday at midday and the back gate was closed. I'll sus the front next time
I've got my eye on this one, just not free to come and find it, wonder who's gonna get FTF....
I was eager to get my first, first to find today. Hopped in the car with geodad at about 5:10 to make the rushed journey to West Pennant Hills before the gates to the forest premises closed. En route, decide to check to make sure no one had claimed the find before I had. I assume you can infer what I saw, due to the log right below mine Decided to settle for STF instead and once we had entered the gates at about 5:30, we began the mad dash to this cache before 6:00, so as to make sure we wouldnt get locked in. Tree cover mucked up the GPS, delaying our search. When we finally found this cache, I audibly gasped at the cleverly designed cache container, my love for LOZ got the better of me and I spent some time staring at this spectacularly made, DIY cache . Got the log out and realised I hadnt brought a pen so decided to take some photographic evidence (attached). Thanks for this wonderful cache beautifulsky13. Definitely deserving of a FP.- [found at] 5:48pm
