We are on a road trip from the NSW/Vic border to W.A. for a wedding. We stayed the night in Port Augusta and thought wed have collect a few caches while in the area. I was keen to find this old cache and it was worth the trip to come out to get it. Its great that these old caches still exist and are being maintained.
TFTC! Flies were a bit annoying but we managed to find it quickly ~Found with Lizardgutz88
Wow thank for this cache and a fav from because it is a survivor and a very old cache TFTC
What a lovely surprise to find this old Hide on our drive around the Port Augusta area today. We were greeted by beautiful views and a large ammo tin at GZ.In the distance, we could hear the buzzing of the overhead electrical wires but other than that it was just the sound of the wind and occasionally some of the birdlife that inhabit this arid area. Thanks AlexDomsky
Ocw the Bebes as we stay in PA. Nice drive out today for a few caches. Parked by the road and walked in for a quick find. Tftc
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Back in Port Augusta for a few days after 3mths exploring the Eyre Peninsula. Weve enjoyed the waters so its nice to see where it all started. Great container. Tftc
Out caching with my caching buddy, MrsShep77, and our faithful drivers. Thanks for the great hides.
Adelaide to Port Lincoln Road Trip!
Day Two: Quorn to Whyalla.
Weather: sensational.
I don’t know what the weather has been like around here recently - we’ve had a lot of rain around Adelaide. No issues doing the Yorkey loop in a 2WD today.
So here it is; the point at which you can walk across the gulf. I thought that the container might be one of these; always a welcome sight. And it’s only now that I see it is an alex cache too, 20+ years and counting. Yorkeys Crossing is not quite what I envisioned but I’m glad I came, thanks for luring me out here alex.
It’s officially a Mega!

On our travels we stopped to grab this cache, and wow what an amazing view over the wet lands so gland you brought us here thanks for placing this cache
We were out today doing a 4WD driving course with Norm and Coralie from Pindan Tours. Brilliant. Highly recommended. They even have a Cartographics Map on the rear window of their 4WD training vehicle. We did the sand driving component near this oldie so we had to stop and show Norm this oldie. Fascinating spot.

I pulled up to go for a wander and look for this cache and I was quite surprised at how loud the power lines were crackling and the air wasn’t even damp! I can only imagine how loud it would be if there was a heavy dew or rain about.

Meets all our standards for an excellent cache -
sturdy: no soggy paper here,

On a road trip around the Mid North and Eyre Peninsula, geocaching as I go. Predominantly targeting old caches, solved mysteries and grabbing some interesting looking traditionals.
After a bite to eat, I was ready to grab a few more caches.
This cache was my primary objective due to it’s age. A short walk in the sand and the cache was found.
A fav point from me for keeping this oldie alive and well.
Thanks for the cache Alex.

We have been to this town many times over the years and never driven this road so today is the day T.F.T.C
Found on a short camping and caching trip north from Adelaide with FeatherWaite.
We slowly made our way up to near Lake Gairdner on the first day, picking up some selected traditional, letterbox and multi caches along the way. We then went across to Hiltaba where we travelled around part of the property, visiting Hiltaba Lookout and Mount St Mungo to find some more caches, including a couple of FTFs, before heading down to near the Gawler Ranges National Park to camp. Then it was off to Whyalla where we targeted a few multis and traditional caches before returning to Adelaide the following day.
Unlike our trip to the south east a fortnight ago, where we were pretty well rained out, we enjoyed reasonable weather with clear skies for most of the time; the only exception being a bit of rain overnight in the Gawler Ranges area.
Most of the caches were found in good condition, although we did have to replace a couple of containers and logbooks.
Thanks alex for the cache.

Spotted this one as soon as I was in the GZ. nice to be out away from town in the peace and quiet. TFTC.
What a wonderful container. Best we have seen. Full of goodies. Took nothing. HAPPY cache
Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
A few things to get done in Port Augusta today, so I really thought we would only concentrate on the two previous DNS at the Arid Gardens. I had heard they had been replaced. After finding them, we almost went back to the van, but kept finding "next closest" gave us another, and another smily face as we drove around the Yorkies Crossing road. We ended up having a 10 out of 10 day.
Quick find in the dunes. Wow a 2002 cache in great condition. Thanks Alex

Gone caching at the end of the June Long Weekend with JEM, JacktheMonkey, and Sebastbat.
A great cache container in a pretty spectacular spot, all the more so driving in here in the dark!
Nice to find an original cache by an original cacher, and good to have caught up at the JLWE

Work's done and dusted for the week which means a free afternoon for caching - the target was to travel Yorkeys Crossing and find caches along the way. Great views and playing dodgem with trucks made the day.
An old cache and a cache that is what caching is all about - it brought me to an interesting spot I've never visited before and would never have visited if not for caching. The cache was full of magazines and the one on top had me thinking ''inappropriate''. A check of a couple revealed the mags were wrestling related.
Thanks for the cache Alex.

Spending a couple of days here so thought I would try and grab some older caches. Dipped out in the first one then came here and taaaadaaa. With amazing views too thanks for bringing me here and the cache
another cache on this holiday targeted because of its age, trying to get as many 2001 - 2002 caches as possible. This one was also needed for my jasmer grid.
Great to find another old cache.
Thanks for the cache alex. Found on 14 Oct 2017 at 7:57 pm. Find #5268.

Apologies for the late log ... life interrupted my logging. I hate it when that happens!
Nice to find an older cache still active ... and a good sized cache as well. Quickly located while we admired the views.
Mrs Gizmo escaped for a two day caching trip to Port Augusta with Dr Owl and CPwanderer.
After some annoying DNFs we headed off for a hot afternoon drive around Yorkey's Crossing and hopefully no more DNFs.
TFTC Alex!

CPWanderer, Gizmo's Gang and Owl ran away for a caching adventure. It's always nice finding an early cache, especially when it gives Owl a chance to practice her 4WD skills. Lovely to find something that wasn't a mint tin as well! Removed the lollies and cigarette. (Really?)
#6482 - 13:21; Day 7 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and albida33, so most logs were signed S.A.L. as a result. After a night in Port Augusta, today's plan was to cache in and around Port Augusta and Stirling North before heading south towards Whyalla for a couple of nights and produced 88 finds along with only 4 DNFs. After a morning caching around Port Augusta and Stirling North, we headed off for a circuit around Yorkeys Crossing. This was one of our eleven finds from eleven attempts as we went around enjoying the views and the caches. TFTC Alex
On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We headed through Burra and Port Pirie before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed. (Some logs were signed as S.A.L. to save space.)
Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

A nice, wild view of the outback - except for the Power LInes that is. And I just realised how old this cache is!
After overnighting in Port Augusta it is time to continue our journey northward to the Oz Mega Event in Alice Springs. But first we must place some more smiles on the map for this area.
We have turned a couple of unfound in town to smilies now it's time to stay away from the black top for as long as we can. (Which won't be long around here)
TNLN SL TFTC
Sorry for the templates log but we have a few to do and not long to do them in.

#1272 Twelfth of forty finds on Day 13 of my South Australian geocaching road trip. Nice easy find after a short search. TFTC
Decided to take the Yorkeys Crossing tour before continuing today's trip to Whyalla and was pleased I did, a great road and some surprisingly scenic views. All good here, a quick find, signed the logbook, and replaced the cache as found.
Many thanks for the hide.

I have never traveled Yorkeys Crossing Road before !! [:o]
In over 40 years of visiting Porter Guster
Today I made amends for that oversight,
and enjoyed a relaxed couple of hours out in the scrub,
surrounded by some good scenery
Alas this area has become a dumping ground,
and hooning around arena for the locals
So much of its beauty is marred by unpleasant sights.
Fortunately no dirt bikes or 4WDs were around to make noise and spoil the tranquility
There was another distraction nearby too !!
A bloke was climbing the nearby high voltage electricity pylon,
the really BIG electricity pylon !! [:o]
He eventually made it right to the top
Obviously no fear of heights there !!
Or of getting zapped by over a hundred thousand volts
And after the distraction,
a short stroll from the road,
past the washing machines,
garden waste and tyres,
took me up the red dunes for a good view,
and a cache find [^]
TFTC !!
Always good to find an oldie
All good with this prize find

Took a rest day at Pt Augusta in our travels and picked up a cache or two. this was one of them. TFTC
We found this one while picking up some caches during a visit to the Port Augusta area. The log was duly signed and everything was put back into place before continuing the hunt for the day. Thank you to alex for placing this cache which was quite easy to find.
Found during a loop of Yorkey's Crossing while visiting Port Augusta for the weekend. Thanks for the cache Alex!
Parked at the tower then headed back along the road to the track to access this cache. Through the sand hills, past the rubbish dump [grrrr] and through another bit of sand dune and we were at GZ. Our favourite hide type greeted us. Could see lots of evidence from GZ of the boys having fun with their toys. Thanks.
