The West Boylston Lions are truly unremarkable in terms of their sports history, being one of the smallest high schools in a sea of schools that regionalized long ago.

Cottonwood colt - local high school in Midvale, Utah

This is a sculpture of the famous (or IN-famous) Seabee. There are either 6 or 8 duplicates of these (can't remember exactly anymore) scattered throughout various Seabee bases/camps worldwide. I believe the story on these 'Bees is that they were all made by the same guy back in the 1980's as a physical manifestation of our mascot while he himself was on active duty service.

I personally have laid eyes on at least 3 of them, including this one shown. The others I have seen throughout my 10-year Navy career have been in Gulfport, MS (the East Coast Seabee HQ), Camp Mitchell on the base in Rota, Spain, and the one shown here which is in front of our Seabee Museum on the Port Hueneme, CA base (West Coast Seabee HQ). I do know there are (or were) ones also located at Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico and Camp Shields in Okinawa, Japan. Coords were taken from the base of this sculpture-topped totem pole...

This is a handmade sculpture of a moose in front of the Whitehouse, Ohio Moose Fraternity Lodge. I remember seeing this moose in a parade a couple years ago. After the parade it was plopped down here and has been here ever since.

Springfield Oregon is an old logging town. As a result the Sprinfield High http://www.sps.lane.edu/shs/info/index.html school mascot is The Miller Man and they call themselves The Millers. This area was filled with lumber mills. Many of the mills are gone but there are still several in the area. In all respects this is still a logging town and has a rich heritage in that regard.

The Frisch's Big Boy mascot at Heatherdowns and Byrne in Toledo, Ohio. A while back the Big Boy was stolen from this location, but returned safely. Here he is on a cold, snowy day in December.

This hippo is in Muncie, Indiana. For many years tt was the mascot for a local pet store, though they didn't sell hippos. When the pet store went out of business it was moved to a local hair salon. I don't know what it has to do with hair.

The Moose Creek Mercantile moose is all ready for some Christmas shopping and welcomes everyone at the door.

We found this mascot Sparky at the staging area for the local Christmas parade. Of course in the south Fire Departments and Fire trucks are a big part of any parade. Sparky is the mascot for the local fire departments to use to teach children about fire safety. Sparky is holding the Garmin 60 CS.

The Mascot for the City of Liverpool (UK) is a Liver Bird.
Two very famous Liver Boirds sit on top of the Liver Buildings the cities waterfront. They are 18 feet tall, have a total wing span of 24 feet and are made of copper. Local legend has it that if they fly away, Liverpool will cease to exist. The Liver Birds are a cross between an eagle and a cormorant (the bird of good luck to sailors).

The Mohr was adopted by Meinl, a company based in Vienna, Austria and became their company logo world wide. The original can be seen on the wall of the house at Graben, 1st district of Vienna, dated 1867. Well this live Mascot cache was one of the most fun I have done to date!

I was visiting Vegas with some girlfriends and my good friend SPAZ showed up with her twin Lady D to surprize me... So you know they got dragged all around the Vegas strip caching!!!

SPAZ says you have to see the M&M store, there are levels and levels of M&M candies so off we go...

Like three kids in a candy store ( insert smile here ) we had a ball!!!

We toured all the levels, bought some silly M&M stuff and as we were leaving the M&M Mascot waves at us ever so cute. SPAZ says to me, hey a live Mascot, thats a cache!!! So now you know Pooh Bear goes into overdrive, get out that GPS....

SPAZ says " I can;t believe I am standing in the middle of the M&M store on Las Vegas Blvd and I have an M&M waving at me"... I laughed so hard --- I said even more funny, we are waving back at her Haaaaaaaaaa

We had a laugh - It was a fun day!!!

Went to church this morning after logging another elusive cache, and to the geo-rangers surprise, a Big Red Clifford mascot dog was there afterwards promoting the book fair. The school mascot is the saints and they often use this live Saintly Dog to promote activities. The geo-rangers raced home to grab the digital camera and Dolly's Big Red Clifford Dog Travel Bug and then headed back to the book fair. Clifford graciously posed with PJ-MON, DOLLY, her Clifford travel bug and the Geo-Ranger! The little geo-rangers scored new books at the fair too! Thank you for this fun and unexpected L/R adventure today!

Find #260. I was just about to run the Somerset County Parks Turkey Trot 1 Mile fun run and 5K, when I saw Sparkee, the mascot of the Somerset Patriots minor league baseball team! Remembering a locationless which had to do with mascots, I quickly jogged back to my car, grabbed my camera and GPSr, and got this great shot. Thanks for the fun!

The highschool I attended many years ago has a mascot that has become a landmark in the neighbourhood -- The Mighty Viking.

We were at a school event for Drake High in San Anselmo, California. I spotted the Pirate mascot in the room and happened to have my GPSr. Unfortunately, I had only a cell phone camera to record the magic moment.

This was in the big Sycamore pumpkin fest.

We were at Saturday's Penn State Purdue game and I took these pictures of one of the most well-known mascots of college football -- The Penn State Nittany Lion. I took these pictures during the pre-game festivities.

Yes, we're having fun...the Bradford Area High School Owl and I. This Owl took a break from learning to get his picture taken with me in the classroom before heading off to an away football game to help cheer on the team from Bradford, PA!

The Hamilton High School mascot is the 'Broncs'. Photos are of the stadium where they play, and their bus. We are in Hamilton, MT.

As an alumnus and a current staff member, I am a huge fan of Longhorn Football. The Texas Longhorns are the mens collegiate football team for The University of Texas at Austin in Austin, Texas. Their mascot is Bevo, a lovable longhorn steer known for a burnt-orange tinted hide. The only time the public can lay an eye on Bevo is during a home football game. Tough as it is to get at the live Bevo, I accomodated with this bust rendition located atop the Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium; this is where the Longhorns play their home games.

How fitting it is that I logged this locationless cache: a.) the day the Longhorns moved ahead of USC to be atop the BCS rankings, and b.) that I met Mack Brown, head coach of the longhorns, today at a local campus eatery. Too cool!

Not sure if this counts, but . . . we have our own mascot that we sometimes take geocaching. It's Punxsutawney Phil 2005, our mascot groundhog! You'll note that our caching name is Groundhog & Shadow. (Groundhog born on Groundhog's Day) This little fellow has had his picture taken with many of the travel bugs we pick up. We have a lot of fun with the photo shoots! The one shown here is with a couple of TB's at the cache site especially for us groundhogs "Double Delight - Welcome to Our Neighborhood", in Vernon, B. C. which looks over our neighborhood and is home to many groundhogs in the rocks.

The Boston Red Sox mascot Green Monster was found last week having fun at the Wall in Beantown, the amusement area of Jordan's Furniture store in Reading, MA where there is actually a lot of fun things to do, include IMAX theatre, Flying Trapeze, Liquid Fireworksm Light Show and maybe buy some furniture. This is Tom-A-Hawk, the mascot for the Portland Winterhawks professional hockey team. One of the gals in my office is their biggest fan(atic). Her office is a shrine to the team. I have gone to a couple games and seen the live mascot but didn't have my camera with me. Hope this will do because it was having fun setting up this picture and teasing the owner of all this stuff. The big guy greets all visitors outside the Erie Plastics Company in Corry PA. Once you go by, you usually don't forget this company. They also have the nicest looking manufacturing facilty for miles.

Well whe finally got this one and the next to the last night that this will EVER be claimed with this mascot because of the archiving of the locationless caches. This is RAYMOND! The Tampa Bay Devil Rays baseball team mascot. He is alot of fun to watch but has been toned down in the past few years as the Devil Rays management has taken alot of fun out of Tropicana Field. This was during an Orioles game. In the past when the Orioles would play here, Raymond would have an oriole stuffed animal that he would beat up on top of the dugouts and do body slams on. But I guess the boring Rays management thought that may be too violent or may offend the bird lovers out there. Anyway..thanks for the cache!

I live in Syracuse, NY but travel the 25 miles to Auburn, NY frequently to see the Auburn Doubledays play Single A ball. This is much friendlier & cozier than our own AAA club. Parking is free and the whole atitude is one of fun.
I've taken many photos of the team mascot, Abner Doubleday, with my children. The season is now over so I can not get a "live" photo of Abner but I saw the next best thing when I was in Auburn a couple of days ago.

During our holidays we came along 'The Old Country Market – Goats on the Roof' in Coombs on Vancouver Island. There is a farmer’s market, Antiques, a gift shop, an ice cream parlour, entertainment for the kids….
And the best thing: there are really goats on the grass roof of the main building!

This whimsical character is there to greet the customers to the "3A Cafe" in Plymouth, MA The sign states Court St. which is also Route 3A. I pass by him every time I go for a haircut.

Restaurant has this animal on all their menus, signs and etc. This one is located just outside Orlando, Florida USA.

This is a memory from my childhood. If you are Austrian and older than forty yrs. then you will still remember that Sparefroh-Manderl ("Happy-Savings-Man"). Designed and created by a bank, we kids got this little toy as a present, when we put money into our savings account. Note that the belly is our beloved Schilling, which now is replaced by the Euro.
That children playground, where I found the mosaic picture, was dedicated by that specific bank (which merged with other banks over the time and also changed the name). Btw.: when I was a kid, that was my playground too.

I thought I would get a school mascot. But driving by I saw "Hank" and decided he needed to learn about geocaching. The clerks inside were very friendly and helpful taking this picture.

This is the mascot of Calico Ghost Town, it is a miner. We did indeed visit the Ghost Town while caching today, but could not find a "living" miner to have an extra credit photo taken.
