Went down the gully with my grandparents and found it pretty quickly! My grandparents live very close so was easy to walk too. Tftc
This one has been a target cache for some time. So cool to put my mark on him early this morning. I spent a week in Hamilton training but car less and couldn't work out how to get here, so missed the chance back then. Now a few months later we are driving through to pick up a family member from Auckland Airport and I put in a request for a diversion to here. So 8am on a crisp foggy, duey morning we found ourselves in the beautiful Glen. Cache easily found thanks to a good hint. Very chuffed to get Stumpy indeed and a missing month for me. Thank you.
What I love about geocaching as all the obscure lonely places around the country side that it takes us to. Had a lovely walk down. Saw a ‘ghost dog’ who met us halfway up the path , got a shock and ran off never to be seen again. Thought we’d meet up the owner but nope. So a ghost dog is was! Found after a short search at the hint item. TFTC
Really nice to discover this place, didn’t even know that it existed. A short downhill action for this one, Sure footing was essential as it was a damp evening when we went. Discovered with FMZ and my geopooch Jäger. Thanks for bringing me to this place and for hiding this cache.
Third time lucky, with the help of a very enthusiastic apprentice caches. Contents very damp, couldn't write in log, had to scarper before we got eaten by the mosquitos!! Tftc
Found it! Out for a drive with my brother and an unplanned stop here to find this. Didn’t have a pen but took a picture. Thank you
A little drive near home after work, what a lovely area, took a bit of searching, tftc
Very nice drive among some lovely estates to get to GZ. Wandered to GZ & although the coords were trying to make us swim in the river, sense prevailed when the hint item was spotted. Nice area. TFTC
Our gps kept saying we needed to go down hill and into the water but we used geosense and once we spied the right fence the cache was a quick find. It's a shame that wandering jew is taking over this area
So pleased to make an easy find here today after finally finding the correct fence !
Last visit I thought I was looking for a small stump!
Off to check out the river now...

This find has special significance for us. The CO is known to us. This was the day of the annual get together of the “Class of 71” Geocaching cropped up in conversation and a quick check brought up “Stumpy” just down the road. A few of us wandered down the road to claim the prize. It was well tucked away but after a bit of bush bashing we had the container in hand. TFTC
On our way south (vaguely) with evilC. The cache took a bit of time to locate, and it was great to find this oldie. TFTC!!
Lived in Hamilton 20 years and never knew this park was here. A challenging find.
#12,133. A good short stroll on the Te Awa Walkway in Te Awa Reserve off Te Awa Road in Tamahere. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

In Hamilton for the morning as my wife and daughter had an Xmas party to attend. I decided to get a few caches before joining them for the last hour or so of the party. Quick find here cache all good.

Left home early to avoid the traffic, and wandered around the reserve with the odd muggle who were out walking their dogs
Did a lot of wandering about under the tree cover, and in hindsight think I put too much emphasis on the name of the cache, when I really should have stuck to the hint. Missing the cache on the first look, it was not until I came back for one last look that I at last found the cache. Took me quite a while to find, but happy to be signing the log.
Thanks Mitrou and Photo Phill for the hide, I was there so long, even kayakers past me by

Great find. Unfortunately stash has been cleaned out Dropped off a nice little car.
Nice walk down to the river on a sunny Sunday morning. Nice quick find once we located the correct fence. Thank you for bringing us here.
Loved this cache as at first gps seemed wrong but once we started to figure it out it was an easy find. My caching partner loved the excitement of this find off the beaten track. We've left a wee bit of colour for someone else. Thanks for great cache.
My last day in NZ and a few last target caches to find.
What a lovely area.... big houses, big park, river! I got lucky with this one as it was in the first place I looked. Hint is spot on.
Love the oldies!

Cool hide. I thought the coordinates were wrong at frist when the GPS pointed us towods the river but we figured it out.
Not too easy !!!!. Which is good.
Found our way to the right area and even then took a careful search. Time was running out and just I was about to head off, spotted something and there it was. Tftc.

After a long day hiking to the pinnacles yesterday we had a relaxed morning before we started the sixth day of our journey south by driving to Paeroa to take a picture with the big L&P bottle. After picking up the two new virtuals on the way we arrived at the Hamilton Gardens around mid day to complete my first Whereigo before we continued our journey to Ngarunui Beach in Raglan. We had a nice stroll along the beach and watched the surfers for a while. This was the last one for today. We took a little detour on our way to our camping spot to find this cache as it is an old one. After arriving at the carpark after dark I set off with my flashlight towards GZ. Once at GZ I made a quick find and then returned to the car to finish the day. Tftc.

A raid on the Waikato was long overdue so McJandals and I teamed up as we've both got similar caches on our Hamilton hit lists. This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. I did go the wrong way though but Jan sorted everything out before I returned. Cheers mitrou, TFTC
Found using Cachly app and logged using the text template, so please excuse generic logging in advance. On a spur of the moment roadie with Phillip.perry from the Bay of Plenty, a plan was hatched and here we are after leaving Tauranga at 6am to make the most of the day. Great to have these places to visit and many thanks to all you COs for the placements. Cheers
#6579. I am up in Hamilton for several days mixing some work with geocaching in my time off. Haven't spent much time geocaching in Hamilton so there are lots of boxes showing on the GPS map. Like its used to be in Wellington when I first started out. Looking forward to putting a dent into them. Came here after picking up the rental car at the airport. Nice quiet area. Took a while to locate this one. Searched thoroughly around a few trees close to the coordinates, including one that matched the cache name. Nothing found. Searched by the fence. Still nothing. Finally noticed a place I hadn't yet checked and there was the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks mitrou for hiding the cache here. Great to find another cache still going strong since 2002.
Its great to see these old caches still around..credit to the CO for keeping it in great condition...I did find the co ordinates out a bit, causing a few circular turns lol...but soon had the cache in hand and signed thanks for the great placement in a beautiful area
Wow what a randomly placed but lovely park. Would not have known about this without geocaching. I needed the hint as my GPS wouldn't get me close. Thanks for bringing us here Mitrou and Photo Phill
Co-ordinates were well out and, somewhat confusingly, dead on a tree stump. However, following the hint, this old cache was quickly found. TFTC.
I decided to go on a rescue mission as it was a cache in my area that I hadn't been to. Armed with a new container & log off I went. What a lovely picnic spot. Old cache removed & replaced. Hope this container is OK. Thanks for bringing me to this lovely spot.
I took a day off today so I made a nice weekend trip to Rotorua and Taupo to visit some interesting places. On the way I stopped for some oldies and other special Caches.
Another oldie! But this one is not in good shape. The lid is missing and the logbook completely soaked and dirty!
Thanks for hiding!

Stumpy is very wet pick this one up with Eyespyben,we sign the container as it was to wet to sign
Pick up stumpy with EyeSpyBen on Sunday,We were in Cambridge.Stumpy has no Lid and is Very Very Wet
Great day out on the water, 5 kayaking and 2 boaties, very warm and maybe a touch of sunburn. Another cache down for the day.
Had a fantastic day out on the river today. A later start than anticipated with boat trouble but the rest of the day went well and our team of seven thoroughly enjoyed the sun, the kayaking (five of us) and the boating (two of them) ... think there may be a bit of sunburn around tonight in spite of liberal doses of sun block, but it is midsummer and midday on the water! This log is very messy and wet - sorry I had replaced some others and run out by here... no lid on the container either, I tried to replace it so that the rain won't get in it, but it does need maintenance, TFTC
Found it but it was damaged with contents scattered. Tried to put things back but couldn't find the lid. Needs some TLC
No probs here, although Onawe almost slipped over when she was stepping out of the boat. It was nearly the second casualty of the day
I'd been saying to Dad for a year that we must do an adventure up the river by boat and see the narrows. Today was the day! we roped in my uncle, the beconazes, and onawe, and we had our party.
This was an opportunistic cache, had always thought to reach it by the track, not by boat. But as we were going by anyway we figured why not? So out of the boat we jumped, and scambled up the bank to GZ.

Had a day of geocaching with Nahkins. I had worked out what roads 12 caches were on. Had to miss one out as when we got there a cycle race was on at GZ. Got 9 smiles and 2 DNF. It was quite windy but the sun did shine. #10. I found this one. We walked up and down the hill trying to work out where this one was. I would get one of the cordinates but not the other. After a while got it. Nahkins was way off. She had put the wrong co-ords in her phone.
Had a day of geocaching with NZPatoto, who did the driving. Total of 12 caches were on. Had to miss one out as when we got there a cycle race was on at GZ. Got 9 smiles and 2 DNF. It was quite windy but the sun did shine. #10 NZPatoto found this. After walking up the hill twice and looking at different trees worked ouy that I have the a wrong co-ord, phat fingers using small numbers. always check the co-ords if you feel like you are walking in circles. Still a nice area to visit. TFTC.
No luck when searching for minty but found this as a bike convoy from hamilton. Rip minty :'( cool location this didn't know it was here tftc
Found on cycle convoy from Te Awamutu to city center. Took a gaber at my phone and saw a geocache on route. Couldn't resist the fiery urge to log my visit with my buddies. Got a head ache after though :/
Made a slight detour for this quick run in the park. Geo-pup liked getting out of the car. Pity he's not really interested in helping me look for caches. The hint made for an easy find though. Tried to recover it a bit as it was really exposed. TFTC
Because I'm always exited of finding quite old caches, this one was on my target list before I came to beautyfull NZ four weeks ago. Quite at the end of my journey I was here and of cource I have to look for the cache. A nice and calm place at the river and a nice cache, too.
Thanks a lot for the cache.

Out and about today for some cache detection in the Waikato region, mostly taking the back roads. After finding "Stumped Again" on my last visit to Hamilton, I decided to make sure I visited the original "Stumpy" on this trip. Now, my GPSr's screen was playing up, so I left it in the car to settle down. This meant caching via smart phone, which I find less than ideal. I need not of worried as once I got close the hint allowed for the formalities to be completed. Always nice to find an older placement that is still active. Nice spot down here, by the river. Cheers for the cache placement!
1465 Out for a quick grab during change of innings in the 50 over match. After arriving back to hear NZ score I have a feeling I am probably going to be more succeesful than the Black caps.
Made this a lot harder than I should have, phones GPS has been screwy lately and wanted to point me into the trees more, which I followed. Found cache after looking around. TFTC! Nice spot. Have tried for this once before but a muggle was nearby with a portable BBQ so I opted to leave it. Nice to get this one ticked off
Thought I'd take the dog for a walk and this location seemed like a good idea. Navman was all over the place but took a punt and there it was. Gc sure is full of a lot of stuff. Tftc.
This cache was on my list to fill in a hold in my "hidden month" grid, found while in Hamilton for a Dahlia show. Cache was quick to find. Thanks for the cache and maintaining it for so long.
I had a bit of spare time after flying into Hamilton airport before heading off to work meetings today so decided to find a few nearby caches. Well this is a venerable one! Great to see it still in place after 12 years. I found my way in and down to the cache without much hassle. A quick search and there was the cache. A bit of a mess on the log front but otherwise in good condition. TFTC, Biggles.
Found with batereech. Container's getting a bit battered. We added some goodies.
Beautiful spot! Bribed son with a pizza picnic to give me the chance to collect 3 more caches this afternoon.
Will return again for another picnic.
Great to collect a Grandad cache - not that many of this era around Hamilton.

came here 3 years ago when the cache had been muggled pleased to now tick it off my list done and dusted tftf
I bowled over and had lunch in this park then looked for the geocache. The GPS wasn't very happy under the trees, so thanks for the hint.
Went in search of a "regular" size cache for our learners licence and quickly came up with the goods.
Found after a bit of a search with GPS playing up. Great place for a cache. SL. TFTC

Whilst staying in Cambridge with pbslost, what better a way to spend a day than to go kayaking down the beautiful Waikato River, picking up a series of caches as well? (And I can get a few more finds to catch up to Banian!)
While getting the Forgotten Highway series, we stopped here. Pbslost had found this, but since we were in the area, I picked this up. TFTC

First day of the school holidays. Set myself a goal to make the hunt more interesting. Didn't count on heavy rain though... Left Rotorua in rain. Once over the Mamakus, the sun came out and looked very promising.
Mushrooms were everywhere. Stopped along the way to the cache to pick large handfulls of wild mushrooms. Most stops were in full view of sprawling country houses... Don't these people eat them? Or do they prefer the civilised versions sold at Pak n Save? They were even in the park near ground zone.
A young couple were already present. They soon disappeared down a side path. We followed and I kept expecting them to show up while we were searching. They weren't any trouble, and neither was finding the cache. A good hint made for a quick find. TFTC.

Taking the Forgotten Highway today, kayaking the Waikato River with Tufty and Alsjfs. Tufty and ourselves had not found Stumpy before, so we beached the kayaks, found the cache, and used the picnic table for a quick lunch before heading off on the other half of our journey. Lovely spot, thanks.
This cache was the next closest from the Forgotten Highway #10 so we decided to try for it from the river. Kiwicouple and I found a nice beach and landed here with alsjfs looking on as they had already found it previously. As it was time for lunch we all decided to sit at the picnic table and have ours.
Cheers for the cache.
We had a swim this morning and where ready for another plons. So were looking for a cache close to the Waikato river. What amazing beautiful spot here. We went for a good swim with the doggies.
Enjoyed from the swim and afterwards took the cache.

Second fright of the day once cache was in hand. Kayakers yelled out to us as they floated past. Didnt quite hear what they said. Nice day for it [8]
