Visiting family and they were amazing to bring me to this old cache.Dropped TB.TFTC
Took a little bit.Needs some maintenance - the logbook is soggy!!!!TFTC - heaps of fun. Kids love it
Hooley Dooley what a view. Picked a ripper day to find this cache. Thanks for bringing me here.
I was on my way to Ballarat and realizing that this old cache was located here and available I made the detour and effort to find it as I needed this find to work towards a Golden Oldie Challenge I am working on. Although it was a beautiful sunny day up here the wind was bitterly cold ... so cold I started to think about giving up the search. Perseverance prevailed and the cache was found and log singed so a quick retreat to a warm car was my next activity.
Grub62 had this cache in her sights to help fill in her calendar of dates hidden. So out we went and arrived at GZ to find a place with great views but sadly we were envloped by fog. A nice hide and it is great to see another cache that has survived this long. Thanks for creating and maintaining it and TFTC.
I am trying slowly to find early placed caches to fill my placed calendar. Today I put two caches on my wish list for date placed. bunadoorian and I left home early to beat the car park on the Ring Road. We arrived here in good time - to find fog and not views. bunadoorian found this cache first. TFTC and for keeping it in play for us all to find - roundcircle.
Another must do cache for today and I neet more workmen here. It must be the day all the workmen work on the mountains as i got the same at Mt Buninyong. Anyway, couldnt access the easy way past the water tank as they were drilling there so parked down at the lookout on the road and clamboured up the embankment to get the cache. TFTC. and the early sate to fill in my grid.
A nice drive up past the castle and a quick little walk over to the cache. I was trying to check off some old caches before it started raining. Nice to see a well maintained cache here TFTC
Last day of our trip, and with the family catching a few extra zzzzzzzs I snuck out for one last cache. Picked up a few adventure labs an oldie and a few trads that will help with a few challenges im working on.Cache was found quickly log signed and safely returned to its rightful place for the next finder.Off to the next I go before returning to Brisbane.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cs he available for fellow cachers to find.Cheers.
The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave us a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown us so many new and interesting places as weve chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached together and sometimes alone but always had a great time. For a few days we have based ourselves in Avoca to explore the goldfields area, attend some events, climb some hills, visit out of the way places and learn some history.I remember visiting Kryal Castle many years ago in its heyday. As we drove passed, It seems to have changed quite a bit since then. Up and up the poor potholed road we drove until we reached the top where it was just a short walk to the cache. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache and adding to our enjoyment.
Our very last find on our girls roadtrip from Adelaide to Melbourne, stopping in Ballarat for the last day of the geotour and a few very select caches before rushing off to make our flights home. At this stage we were in high spirits as we had acheived everything we had set out to, but also because we might have been slightly delirious from lack of sleep and food. While one of our group finished packing her suitcase, the other two trotted off to GZ where a quick find was made. Very happy to be claiming a find here as it comes very close to completing my ausmer.
Shazzar66, AtTheLakeHouse and I flew from Brisbane to Adelaide to attend the Leap Day Mega. Our plan was to drive from Adelaide to Mt Gambier to find more of our targeted caches in the area, and then to drive to Melbourne Airport via Ballarat, as we had targets there too. Our caching list included Oldies, good or needed D/T caches, caches with high Favourite Point, geo-tour caches in Ballarat and any others that took our interest when we had extra time. This cache was on our list, being an Oldie, and it was our last find for our trip before heading to Melbourne Airport. Thanks for the cache. Weve had a great trip
We were in Adelaide for The Great Leap Forward (Mega-Event). After the event we made our way through to Mt Gambier, and now heading to Melbourne for our flights home via Ballarat. We cached a few random caches in the surrounding areas along the way.I found your cache, Medievil today. This is my 2942 find.Having a girlie trip with Duppers and At The Lake House. 6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to prepare an 18-days project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select only few of them. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the Mega, which was initially our aim.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During Blackhoot's event, "Auvergnats in Australia #2", McLookers told us about Ballarat's geotour caches. It was a great suggestion for our Sunday schedule. So departure at 8am from Melbourne, to spend the day in Ballarat, we will target geotours and a few extras. As the caches are far away, we will need a good day to turn them yellow. This will allow us to visit different spots in Ballarat. Thanks to the owners for the caches and the discovery of places.Thank you McLookers for this advise.
Took us a few minutes to find it and a little bit smaller than the 1 litre container in the description. Nice views from top of the mountain but take it easy on the rough road in and out!! TFTC!!
After a great day exploring we decided one last cache before we head home. This one was on my hidden date list and it was great to tick off another oldie. Cache was found in great condition. We're living on the road and using geocaching to discover interesting places. Thanks for bringing us here
Spending the day with Tenkae, attacking some caches in the area. What a great view of the Castle as one winds their way to the hill. Road a bit rough but what a view! Nice to add an old cache to the list of founds! Thanks roundcircle for your fantastic efforts and for contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails, Deanside
An interesting area up behind the Castle. Thanks for bring me up here for this old cache.
Hunting caches in the Ballarat area today and as I was close decided to head to the top of Mt Warrenheip to hunt the caches up here. Parked right at the top and headed off for this one and had the cache in hand quickly once in the right area. Thanks to round circle of rkeeping this golden oldie going!
TFTC! 26 January 2024 2:46:06pm 7155 thanks to roundcircle for the cache! Thanks for keeping this one alive. Finally able to make the drive up here today.

I found some caches on the way like this one. Late afternoon I make a short detour and found the oldest cache in Victoria with fantastic view to the valley. In the evening I arrived to Ballarat and stopped at another old one (Medievil) and saw my first live small cangaroo there. So I spend a nice day. Thanks for this old cache, send a FP and greetings from Czech republic.
We stopped in at the castle and what do you know an oldie was so close! A fairly short drive then stroll and the cache was in hand, signed and returned. Cheers!
While traveling to Ballarat this oldie cache **Medievil** was well worth the detour! Thanks, roundcircle for taking me to this beautiful place and for the placement and care of the cache. TFTC
Its certainly brisk up here with a chilly breeze but finding oldies is always worth it, a beautiful spot. Medievil is find number 3,274 for me. A great regular traditional cache I enjoyed finding as part of my caching fun in Moorabool Shire. Unless otherwise mentioned above, I found the coordinates to be accurate, the cache in good condition and the log dry and with plenty of room to sign. I am logging this one on Wednesday 20 Dec 2023 at 8:34 pm and the weather is Few Clouds 10C 78% 2 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy roundcircle.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
A few spare days to fill before Christmas so I made the decision to hit the road and go on a road trip from Adelaide to Ballarat. The main purpose of the trip is to tackle the Ballarat Geo Tour before they get archived in February 2024. Day two was spent around Gong Gong Reserve, Kirks Reservoir, Mount Warrenheip, Buninyong, and surrounding reserves. Quite a busy day. You cant come to Ballarat and not find this cache. So I did. Quick find. A favourite point for keeping this oldie alive. Thanks for the cache RoundCircle.# # #13694 # #
Doing a cache run from Melbs to Beaufort as part of an extra long weekend away for a wedding. Couldn't go past picking up this golden oldie. This would be a nice view if it wasn't blowing 4000 km/h and about to piss down.
Another great oldie here still going strongToday was one of the best caching days Ive ever had - across 25k finds, and 12 years of playing! Ballarat just doesnt disappoint. I could easily spend a couple of extra days here. I had a target list of 50 caches. Knowing I wouldnt make a dent in the stockpile out here, i prioritised the geotour before it ends, virtuals, a couple of 2001 caches, and my favourite - challenge caches, mixed in with a few rare icons that I struggle to find in WA. I could have easily given out 50 favourite points today, but I dont have many spare!Leaving Melbourne just after 6am and finishing ba k in Melbourne just after 7 - it was a solid days work! Thanks to everyone involved in making the geotour a success and the local COs for their great caches and experiences that they shared with me.Will be back next time were in WA for a holiday.
After a few Days in Melbourne and South Coast (Geelong area), wanted to do the geo-tour as the rumour is it wouldn't be around next time I am likely to be in Victoria. Clocked up some big km in doing the geo-tour but it was worth it - after speaking to other cachers, they said it was a must do if in Victoria. Also indulged in getting a few others in the area for other caching challenges. Thanks for caches I found today and the CO's for maintaining them.
I was in the area today visiting the local attraction and saw that this cache was so close, so how could I resist a quick stop before the drive back home. A quick search revealed the cache and the log was soon signed. Unfortunately the geo kids had had enough for the day and wouldnt indulge me hunting for another couple of close ones so it looks like a return trip will be in order. Thanks to the current and all previous owners of the cache for maintaining this one and keep the fun going for many to enjoy.
In Ballarat to do the GeoTour so doing some others while here. All good with the cache. GJ
Being a Chauffeur to LilDonna so collecting another smiley while here. Thanks CJ
Down in Ballarat with my Geo Chauffeur for a few days to do the Ballarat GeoTour over the next few days, we may even get some others done as well.It is amazing what the guys have achieved with this tour around you City and the area taking us to so many places and being able to see so much of the history around here.Wow thought I would be rich when I found this perfect cache, ah but NO, grrrrr, just pretend money, grrrrr, NOT Good, but I did enjoy it anyway...Cache is good condition, and a little fun. Found it, monogramed it, replaced it back to where it was, then onto next one. Thanks for keeping this ancient cache alive...LilDonna
I'd had my eyes on completing the Ballarat Geotour for a while now, but with its days remaining on the gameboard being numbered, I knew it was time to seriously consider a trip out west to find them. This revelation coincided rather conveniently with the newfound ability to drive myself away on such a trip, a sale at the already discounted accommodation, a bit of free time, and two events in the region. And so, as if by magic, Brain's Big Ballarat Bash was conjured up, and my night away to finish the Geotour and partake in other general shenanigans commenced! With a quick stop in Bacchus Marsh on the way up, this afternoon was mostly occupied with a few easterly caches on the hit list, before I checked into my accommodation and a long night of driving around the outskirts of town to collect some of the more out-of-the-way offerings commenced! After navigating past the seriously impressive number of potholes on the road to this cache, I hopped out and commenced my search without any other people in the area (presumably those that are in the area are far more transfixed by the castle!)The flowers just about totally envelop the area and made a very lovely backdrop for the hunt.Eventually I located the container and was pleased to tick off another '01 hide! Thanks to roundcircle for hiding this one here!
Of course i couldn't pass this Golden oldie up to help me fill In my calendar and well i just happened to be in the area on this cool morning ..I could not believe the pot holes on the way up (enough too give Pakenham a run for top prize.)!..my van was struggling..does this really constitute a Rd?? Located the cache without too much trouble.
Not a photo of where cache is but 'forget me nots'Crusty Varmint, Bemused Keith and I set on a journey today to do the BallaratGeoTour and find some other quality caches along the way, this being one of them. Thanks for the very enjoyable geocaching adventure RoundCircleregardskbucky
Ballarat Geo-Tour TripDay #2 of 4 (16/9)Todays main focus is finding the Geo-tour caches and any pre-2010 cache I came across along my travels. I also found a few ALs and a couple of others nearby to make up the numbers. I ended up with finding 20 out of 25 of the Geo-tour caches. I ended up with 50 finds for the whole day. My D/T average took a hit today but thats okay because Im here for the tour and to fill my Project GC grids. It was a great day out and I really enjoyed finding all the caches I found. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all COs of the caches I found today and for allowing them to bring the Geocaching community enjoyment. TFTCs As I was nearby, I decided on heading to the top of this hill to find the caches up here because there is no way I'm leaving a 2001 cache unfound. When I arrived I took a photo of the Trig and then I was off to find this cache. Once at GZ, A quick find was made. It's always great to find an oldie. Thanks for bringing me here.
A whole four day trip with Aquilus1 to do the GeoTour in Ballarat some caching around Geelong and anything else that looked good on the way.
Weather was ok albeit a bit on the wet side for the first two days.
This cache was one of the ones we had the oportunity to do.
Awesome old cache found Lumpyijr. Unfortunately no Koalas today even though we looked very carefully for them. I wonder if they are still on this hill?!
Thank you RoundCircle for the nice cache and experience you gave us!

Decided to clean up the caches on Mt Warrenheip after the event nearby. Just as we were signing the log we were " muggled". It was only Flinstone's and Aquilus1 so we all signed the log and went off to find the others together. Tftc.
I hadn't realised about this oldie 06/2001 geocache until a friend alerted me with his puzzle nearby. So it was a good opportunity to drive past the nearby castle, and ascend up to this summit. At GZ, the cache was a quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks roundcircle for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

This extended weekend, [jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T), infant Cottontail and I were visiting Ballarat from Brisbane, targeting the [Ballarat GeoTour (GT4A1)](https://coord.info/GT4A1). Highlights included the historical architecture, buildings, and artwork/sculptures of inner Ballarat, Ballarat Botanic Gardens, Lake Wendouree, Sovereign Hill, Eureka Stockade, and mountains Mount Buninyong and Mount Warrenheip. We were lucky to have great weather with no rain and mostly blue skies each day, which aided our enjoyment of our trip. Apart from the targeted GeoTour geocaches, our geocaching has largely been opportunistic following tourist sights and attractions, although we attempted/targeted higher D-T combinations from solved puzzles, and rare cache types like virtual caches, Letterbox Hybrid caches, and Adventure Labs.
Today, I had an early start to attempt Ballarat's drain caches that were recommended. A thoroughly enjoyable adventure marvelling at the historic drain brickwork construction.
After returning home and regrouping with the family, we proceeded to the Magpie challenge cache series along Frenchmans Lane, of which I was expecting to walk, but we used the rental car to drive the series. We then returned to Eureka Stockade where we visited the Eureka Centre museum, and had a play at the park's playground.
We then had a few geocache stops that were on our targeted list as we proceeded east to Mount Warrenheip, ensuring we found the 2001 oldie [Medievil](https://coord.info/GCBBE). It was then a final driving loop north/north-east of Ballarat to find our remaining [Ballarat GeoTour](https://coord.info/GT4A1) geocaches, stopping at Kirks Reservoir, Goldfields Track, and Black Hill Lookout. I also had a quick dunk/swim in Lake Wendouree, before commencing our drive back to Melbourne.
During our drive to Melbourne Airport, we had time to visit Bungaree, Ballan, Bacchus Marsh, and Melton, targeting interesting geocaches that included virtual caches, EarthCaches, and those with high Favourite Points.

Caching buddy: Muggle Anshi
Crisp early morning! After a night stay at the Medieval Kryal Castle, we drove our geomobile, Ravfa, to the coordinates and realised that we had a big slope to climb. So car is parked, hiking boots are on and with a foggy cloud in my face (making all the plants very dewy), I followed the compass. The doggy cloud made my compass take me to different corners... So then I resolved to looking at photos. And 1 particular photo gave it away, thankfully! Muggle Anshi's patience was wearing thin!
Thank you Brierley & Jones families, for creating and placing and to roundcircle for maintaining this cache. I have enjoyed finding it and visiting this spot.

So cool to find such an old cache and in such a fantastic spot. I didn’t even care that it was raining and absolutely freezing up here. Thank you roundcircle for placing and maintaining Medievil for us to find today.
This evening, I came up here again to try finding this cache since I couldn't locate it last time. The drive up was pleasant, and I saw many wallabies grazing. After a brief search, I noticed a peculiar-looking branch, and there it was! I signed the log and put it back. The cache is in good condition, and there's still plenty of space in the log book. TFTC
As we asended Mount Warrenheip you get a good bird's eye view of Kryal Castle and then up a bit further over the country side.
Cold bitter wind blowing but we pushed on.
Cache was located and signed the replaced.
Now for the other one up here.

Never been to the top of Mount Warrenheip so ventured up here to grab the caches. Nice easy find.
Today the snuggle muggle was catching up with her friends for a ladies day, which meant I had the whole day to myself. So of course what am I going to do with a whole day of free time...
Cache of course! So I decided to make a day trip up to [Ballarat](https://www.visitballarat.com.au/) and cache along the way. Today's main focus was on finding oldies and virtuals, but I did grab a few others along the way.
This one was my nineteenth find for the day and the last one of the trip. The sun was quickly setting as I was driving over to this one. I figured I was going to have to find this one in the dark.
By the time I arrived up the hill the sun had indeed set. So I grabbed my torch and made my way over to GZ. I think I just got lucky and saw something that just didn't quite seem right during my search, as I ended up spotting the well concealed cache rather quickly. However, I really think the hiding spot of this one is great and I easily could have spend a long time searching.
*Woohoo! Another 2001 cache!*
It is always such an amazing feeling finding a 2001 cache, I can only imagine how different the game must have been back in 2001. Wow, just wow.
This one definitely earns a favourite point from me!
A big thanks goes to [RoundCircle](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=bc56c96a-0016-43e0-943d-c06aa2d1651a&wid=935898f8-60a5-46d7-afd5-e73e84db136d&ds=2) for maintaining this piece of caching history for all these years!
**Cache Maintenance Status**
The cache container was in pristine shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to find.
P.S. I left my favourite point pathtag in the cache for the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=bc56c96a-0016-43e0-943d-c06aa2d1651a&wid=935898f8-60a5-46d7-afd5-e73e84db136d&ds=2) or next finder to have.

Thanks for keeping this alive. Agree with the prior finder on the state of the cache contents. Log is still good. The poor pony, though, not so much.
Out with the geofam for a couple of cashes. Cashe container is damaged, and contents are mouldy. TFTC.

Today we’re driving to Melbourne after a huge week from Rutherglen to Bendigo and Ballarat. Mainly searching for trig points, maybe some caches will be nearby?

Heymissjo and I had tried several previously to tackle the Ballarat Geo-Tour but the fickle finger of fate had always seemed to intervene and prevent us. But this weekend was OUR weekend. We had a birthday and an anniversary of an important life achievement to celebrate.
And what better way to celebrate than to stake a claim in our busy schedule and geocache the weekend away?!
Just heymissjo and myself.
And the Geo-Pup!
Went around in circles but eventually found this cache that has been on my target for a very long time.

The Welder and I have been trying to find a weekend to come and explore Ballarat for ages, particularly to collect the GeoTour caches…. And some key targeted caches such as this one.
So when The Welder asked me a few weeks back what I wanted to do for my birthday, the answer was easy! So here we are for my birthday weekend, staying nearby in a cute mud brick cottage with our favourite geo-pup.
Finally we made! Great to see some sights I haven’t seen around Ballarat. Thanks for the cache! A nice oldie with a great view!

Next adventure - work trip to Ballarat so came a couple of days earlier to cache in the area. With so much to choose from my priority is the GeoTour, some oldies, and some ALs. And of course, what cacher can resist the other one here and there that you just simply can’t drive past!!
Day 1 - windy as all get up today. Supposed to get to 37 but the wind is making that seem unlikely. Nevertheless, I’m pushing on with my target and thoroughly enjoying exploring what for me is completely new territory.
The road up here is not at all well maintained which I found surprising give the infrastructure asset at the top but hey, still passable.
Quick and easy find here today.
Thanks so much roundcircle for getting me out and about and enjoying this area

The 2nd of our 3 lookout hills for the day and we grabbed the cache while here.
Found with JJ52 and Michells&hound on our Ballarat Geo Tour trip. We left Adelaide early Friday morning and travelled home Sunday. We found all the Ballarat Geo Tour caches over the weekend aswell as a few others along the way. We even attended a event in Sebastopol on Sunday before we headed home.We did a few Adventure Labs to when we were close. I enjoyed the dive up to this cache on a damp and foggy morning along the pot holed road. I too hope this oldie survives. I like what it stands for, bringing people out to places that they might not otherwise see. Favourite from me. TFTC to all the original hider and all the custodians since.
Last day in Ballarat for the Geotour, we had quite a lot to get done before the event in Sebastopol. We needed to compete the tour, find a couple of old caches and also targeted some multis and a virtual. Jam packed morning but all we wanted to do was competed before the long drive home.

On a road trip with Michells&hound and allister w over to Ballarat to complete the GeoTour as well as other highly favourited caches and odd ones we were going past. We had a great weekend with four seasons of weather over the three days and even managed to attend an event in Sebastopol before heading home. Saw lots of the countryside and very interesting places in and around Ballarat. [^]
We came up here specially to find this oldie. An early start before heading home. [;D]

Our first full day in Ballarat and after watching the Goblins being cheated out of victory by those tricksy Fairies at Kryal Castle, it was time for some geocaches.
This older was certainly on my Must Do list and was hoping for a themed Kryal Castle container, but not to be. Obviously this road doesn't get used much as it needs a lot of TLC, but our 2WD made it without any problems, if slowly.
Walking to the final, the long grass was very wet. It hadn't rained all day, but the top of the mountain appeared to be in clouds a lot of the day, from our point of view within the Castle grounds. Found the container is good condition, but can't say the same about Son2's clothes that were covered in burrs.

target cache due to it's age 2001 and being one of the 20 oldest active caches in victoria. Found in the rain and fog. This mountain gets really cold and that long grass is really wet. quick find.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

Ballarat and Rutherglen Christmas 2022 Trip. Day 2. After a long day driving yesterday today we were all keen to get on and do as many of the Ballarat Geo Tour caches as possible. The group that joined up for the days journey was Sol de Lune, Fitzy_1965, Smitten Granny, Kitty Katch, Joolay and albida33. We signed each log as BCI22 for Ballarat Christmas Invasion and we enjoyed the challenge of the days caching. There were some very interesting location to visit, some were over run with holiday makers, most areas we were alone to enjoy the location. We managed to locate a foe other caches as we went. The day ended with an event where we were able to meet up with locals and fellow travelers alike.

29,275. Found as part of the Ballarat Christmas Invasion 2022 group of albida33, Kittykatch, Joolay, Sol de Lune. smittengranny and myself (signing as BCI-22) during our journey south for an epic caching run around the Ballarat and Rutherglen regions between Christmas and New Years Eve 2022.
With a main aim of the Ballarat GeoTour, the Rutherglen Easter Series, Brolga Bill's Bike Trail (BBBT), and Brolga Bill's Puzzles (BBP), a group of us headed down from Canberra/Goulburn. Today's main aim was the GeoTour. What a great day it was driving around Ballarat. A Beautiful City. This was a lovely area to visit. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, them continued on to the next cache on our list.
Thanks RoundCircle !! Great to see a Golden Oldie still going.

A small convoy (2) of vehicles made it up the hill. This was followed by a quick find again by Albida33 who is always quick out of the blocks.
Today I am travelling with Sol de Lune, Fitzy_1965, Albida33, Joolay and Kittykatch. We are signing as Ballarat Christmas Invasion as we target the Ballarat Geotour and any others that show up nearby.
It is a beautiful day but promises to get quite hot later. All caches attempted have been found and signed BCI, unless of course it shows up as a DNF. It has certainly shown me that I need to come back to Ballarat to explore and enjoy the wonderful architecture and history of this city.
This was another that "popped up ". TFTC RoundCircle Take a FP for bringing me here.

Round and round up a bumpy little track, dodging pot holes and watching rabbits hoop out my way, to find myself on top of the world . Peeking through the trees you can see for miles. Now to to find the cache and again, around and around and around again, turn round and around and around once again, finally I found the hidey hole this cache resides in.

I haven’t been seeking out old caches lately, but noticed this one on the map the last time I came through here. Rotten weather back on that day, but perfect today. Fantastic views as you ascend the hill - views from the top are mainly filtered. I had the hill all to myself today. The road has seen better days.

Depending on the log size and who I was with this is signed as nikid1, ND1 or TQ5 (team Queensland).
The group of us from the north decided to spend a day in Ballarat as we were all after different DTs, attributes and a lovely geoart (as I love Christmas) that we could get here.
This was stop number 1 for the team as I love oldies and this is a date I haven’t filled in in my Jasmar table.
The log was wet so we added a piece of paper to the cache.

While on my way to the MEGA event in Whittlesea, I had the opportunity to get in a few extra days of caching beforehand. This got me to go to areas I would not have normally seen and to some awesome caches. Today I arranged to meet up with the girls and we would do some caches around Ballarat, fill in some grid spaces, grab some as we passed and look at some labs. We had fun chasing Xmas trees, letterboxes and the odd virtual.
This one was on my list to get. An older cache and a grid spot that needs filling. We added a new piece of paper as the book was very wet. What a nice area, the place is just blooming with wild flowers. We signed the log and continued on to our other targets for the day. Thanks for placing this one here.
This gets a favourite point from me, nice to have an old one in play still, thanks.

Whittlesea Mega Wobble and Wade Tour: Day 2: Ballarat Geotour
Once again myself and Anymules were in Victoria on our way to a Mega event. We had scheduled two nights in Ballarat to do the tour and grab a few other caches in passing. [^] We started last night and had all of today to try and get them done. Wrong. Despite a full day from dawn to dusk we haven't finished and will be at it again tomorrow morning. This is what we did get to though.
A quick find but the log was very soggy.

I had been planning a "cache run" out this way for some time now and have to put it off for a number of reasons. Yesterday I looked at the weather forecast and thought "that looks alright, it shouldn't be too bad"... and so this morning I set off from Melbourne with the sun shining. Well, that didn't last too long and by the time I got to the top of Mt Warrenheip, I was in low cloud and persistent drizzle that last pretty much all day.
My first stop for the day was to pay homage to this really old cache. I think it fantastic that some of the original caches can be kept going like this. It wasn't a particularly difficult find although it was quite muddy getting past the south side of the compound... the north side is a better choice.
Thanks **RoundCircle** for keeping this cache alive... and on that topic, some maintenance is required. The lid doesn't seal and water is getting... the log sheet is basically mush and unsignable.
