A Modern pedestrian rope bridge located in Utazu, Japan. Acoording to the local newspaper, the steel ropes are first used to span the road, then concrete panels are placed around it. The design is supposedly from Germany. Here are the links I used to find it:

I've had this bridge/virtual on my mind for awhile. The impending deadline on virtuals forced me to head out on a rainy day with some friends to log this one.
This bridge is cabled by steel wire rope and has a grid decking to cross. It is located in China Beach Provincial Park in British Columbia, Canada. GPS coverage was very spotty, with 50+m accuracy (big trees, a gully, and lots of moisture!)

Long swinging bridge at Greenleaf State Park near Gore, Oklahoma. I crossed this to reach a very remote geocache, the second oldest existing cache in our state. Due to my idiocy with cameras, my GPS is not in this photo (though I was holding it) but your can see from my log of the Greenleaf's Suspension cache that I was indeed geocaching there on that date and had my GPS in my possession.

Thank you for this locationless! I'm so sad it will be gone at the end of the year. Cache on!

Got this one on vacation in New Zealand. It's a bridge in Buller Gorge on South Island. The elder SoccerFanatics hates walking across these things, so the younger went across alone!
This is a different type of rope bridge, its a one rope bridge used by Army Rangers when cossing deep rivers, or fast tides. You hook up a D ring to your belt and just pull yourself across almost like on the opening scence of Cliffhanger.
We found this bridge in the "Grönegau-Park" in Melle, a town in northern Germany.

As rope bridges go, this one isn't all that exciting. It spans the Chagrin River in a town called Gates Mills, Ohio. What is really neat is that the bridge is private bridge of the residents living on the other side of the river. I pass by this location on my way to work and depending on the time will see their children crossing the bridge to reach the school bus. The bridge is planked. and about 40 yards wide over the river. It was damaged a few years back and rebuilt after a storm, but has been in use as long as we have lived in the area. The photos are not the greatest because the bridge is on private property. This was the closest public area to shoot a picture.
Found this bridge in July. Guess I'd better log it before we lose the locationless caches. Couldn't pose on this farmer's emergency bridge due to private property concerns. It's located on Dogtown Rd between Angels Camp and Calaveritas in the Motherlode.

Found this rope bridge in Napervill, IL. It was a little too dark so this was the best I could do with the picture.
These rope bridges are part of the high ropes course in the trees of Grizedale Forest in the UK. Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park, the bridges with a wide variety of designs are part of the five areas that make up the ‘Go Ape’ adventure course.
We found this rope bridge during our vacations in Hinterstein in Bavaria, Germany. It crosses an affluent of the creek Oistrach.
I was visiting the Old Summer Palace in north-west Beijing, mainly to log "A-maze-ing Old Summer Palace (China)", GCD01B, when I came across this rope bridge. The span joins the 'mainland' to an island that contains a children's adventure playground, and crosses the greenest water I've ever seen. [xx(] Apparently, the 'adventure' begins before the little ankle-biters reach the island. The two you can see in the first picture were making heavy weather of it.
Nina River, Lewis Pass, South Island os New Zealand.
You have to cross this bridge to do the Nina River Cache (Waypoint GCF6CB). I was driving past and thought of your locationless cache, so stopped to take the photos. This bridge is typical of many in the South Island's wilderness.
