Today out and about on 264 of 274 days to get my daily cacher Emerald Using my Garmin Etrex 22X, Garmin Montana 700 and MacBook Air!Thanks for the cacheTFTC
Today I got an early knock off and decided to head out and find a cache before heading home. I never knew this cemetery was hidden in these back streets. The places you discover while caching.I PAF to confirm I was in the right place as I didnt like the idea of lurking around here.My coordinates were correct and after speaking to a fellow cacher I soon made the find.TFTC maccamob Keep smiling
Found after an extended search as I didnt expect the hide to be located where it was.Sneaky!Great multi!FP for you!TFTC
I still feel weird about a physical container inside an actual cemetery plot. But I contacted a previous finder, so I knew exactly where I was looking. Once I knew where it was, I found it easily.TFTC
The Leap Day Mega was a great excuse to come down from Queensland and weve had a busy time exploring Adelaide and surrounds cache by cache. Meeting up with friends old and new, we sometimes cached with them and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Although I have been to Adelaide before, this trip has shown me so many new and interesting places as Ive chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining these caches for everyone to enjoy.
Date: March 1, 2024 Time: 1:51 PMFind #14802Last day in Adelaide with the team for the great leap forward, a more casual day, caching today with Earthbound Chief, BeckNmonts and Team_Crumble, just chosing some select caches along our way. Another fun day caching.Massive thanks go to maccamob for placing this one.
Yesterday we attended the Mega event "The Great Leap Forward" and then met up with Ahomburg, BeckNmonts and Earthbound Chief for a day of driving, walking, eating, getting too much sun once again and of yes - caching!Today we set out to do it all again - more coffee, more sun, more walking, more laughing and more caches.Thank you maccamob for placing and maintaining this cache for our fun today.
Today we found Meet the Family on our travels. On a brief visit to Adelaide for Leaping Forward so many caches, not enough time! We had to do this onea) its an oldie, b) its a maccamob cache, c) a cemetery! Thanks maccamob for being part of our geocaching fun.
Found in our group of six Queenslanders unsupervised in Radelaide mega'ing. It's Leap Day which is a lot more exciting than Christmas! And we are finding a whole variety of caches today. All logs signed or stamped as SQUIRM. Thanks for the cache maccamob
The day has finally come, its Leap Day!! Team SQUIRM are running around town in Staceys mom playing Leap Day Bingo trying to get as much as we can on our lists. Tftc maccamobFind #5689
Leap DayThis is the reason SQUIRM are in Adelaide Today is all about types, sizes, the odd D/T and anything else we step over (read detour 30 minutes to) when someone says theres a . just around the corner oh yeah, and The Great Leap Forward Mega and Side EventThanks maccamob ??
Find 4716 on February 29, 2024Day#3 on Fergzters trip to the Great Leap Forward Event. Found with LionJrb who was more bold than I was to find the cache. All is well with the cache. TFTC maccamob
During the glory days of the Royal Ankh-Morpork Post Office, a branch was also based in the city state of Quirm.Due to a miscommunication in the twilight years of the Ankh-Morpork monarchy, the king issuing an order with his mouth full, Quirm's branch of the Royal Post Office once employed trained ostriches as delivery staff.
Happy Leap Day 2024The SQUIRM team has travelled from Brisbane for the MEGA. We are here for a week and a bit of Fun, Fringe and caching.I got to have a sleep-in today instead of getting up at the usual 5.15amn.Now we are all back in Stacey's Mum and ready for a day of caching. Look out Adelaide
Out caching with Fergzter, we like to look around old cemeteries, and we even have some relatives nearby. The GZ was worked out quickly but deciding to find the cache had us pause a bit. Thanks for the cache.
We made a quick job of finding the necessary data the went to find maccamob's ancestors. Then we checked and double checked our figures.....came up with the same answer each time.We finally paid our respects to Elizabeth. I am awarding a favourite....cos the CO said I had to. ??TFTC maccamob
I have no problem, strolling around a cemetery or graveyard, finding information that leads to the final container. As long as the final container is located outside of the graveyard or cemetery. So once I realise that the container was located inside, I just moved on.
After spending a fair bit of time looking at many Elizabeth's and reading back over the previous logs. My daughter and I came back for a 2nd look and finally located and signed log.
Collected the numbers, crunched them for a GZ then off I go
Arrived at GZ, had a brief look & wondered where…….then it hit me nice hide indeed

I came out on a caching adventure with pie_mom who was having some trouble locating this cache. I arrived at gz and the first thing I touch is the cache. Good camo but not good enough for making pie!

Thanks maccamob for this cache. I spent ages searching on a previous attempt. Today, makingpie made a quick find. Good camo.
Good little multi close to work.
Often i go for a short walk at lunch time, using this cemetery as a half block route, if pressed for time.
Great hide. Very ingenious indeed.

We came, met the family, said g'day and signed the log. A nice resting place, never would've known it was here. TFTC
We’d just had a DNF at a multi around the corner and weren’t feeling all that great about it. We decided to drive two blocks to have a go at another.
This one was a lot more quiet than our last attempt but still we were trying to be respectful and quiet. A very cool hide and a favourite point awarded and we will certainly be having a drink for all those that came before us. tftc

Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. Although exercise is ok, beaches, parks etc are gradually being closed, and we are being asked to stay home. The virus can be transmitted by surface contact, so please don't take the chances. Geocaching is a game, and we are dealing with a serious Public Health issue, so we need to get our priorities in order. Please stay at home!
We believe the responsible thing is to disable all our caches, until this crisis passes.
Thanks.

Needing a multi-cache for today's calendar day, I decided to visit this cemetery just north of the city. I think I had eyed this previously, but during those times in winter, it was dark and hence uninviting to complete. I never realised that this was such a 02/2003 hidden oldie!
I ended up parking up towards the side streets rather than the main road, and walked to GZ to collect the clues. Only initially, I collected the clue to the wrong family member, that had mentioned sleeping away, but not the Doctor part. It should have clicked, but I just figured I had missed something. Then I needed to find the rear entrance, which was unclear to me. I ended up walking the full distance to what turned out to be front / main entrance. Why can't a waypoint be added to make this clear? There just didn't seem to be any cemetery maps around to clearly note the rear entrance. So all the way back again to the gate I walked through, and easily collected the required numbers. It was only then that I had realised I had visited the wrong grave, so back to Waypoint 1.
From there, I calculated the numbers, and headed off to my GZ. It took five minutes of looking around, and then extending my search before noticing something. Upon closer inspection, a cache was found. It turned out to be more small sized than regular, but perhaps the container size has changed over the years? Thanks for the cache maccamob - the cache container and logbook were in good shape this evening.

Took awhile, but standing, reading, thinking and looking around like a catcher...there it was! Great hide. Left our pathtag as a reward for next cacher. TFTC
Thanks Maccamob for this cache. I did a bit of reading before arriving but clearly not enough. Great stonework at WP1 btw. Back to the entrance to grab the next round of numbers and punch them into the navigator. Arrive at GZ and tentatively poke around for a bit. Having not seen one like this before I didnt recognize it. Back to the car to recheck the numbers in the warm and confirmed I had it right. Read a few past logs and had some fresh ideas. Re-entered the cemetery and identified the likely source and came up trumps. Thanks for the family history, the info and the chance to visit a quiet cemetery on a cold clear afternoon/evening. Book signed and carefully replaced. Everything in great condition, FP for you.
After working 1/2 a day Saturday. The rest of the day was given over to doing some multis with a few puzzles thrown in as i was passing the finals. this was the first of the day and after lunch. i strolled around and got some numbers. At gz i knew where it was straight away, i have seen this type of thing before. Nicely themed container.
Found the cache. We think the container is in the incorrect spot at the moment. Have notified CO
08:40 20 Jan peaceful area. Visited to while away some time while waiting for the 09:30 ringing at St Cuthbert's. Log dry, no pen/cil.
A quick find on a quiet Saturday morning. Took a circuitous route back to the car and was surprised to see within 30 metres of each other the graves of a former State Attorney General (Herbert Angas Parsons), a two time Premier of SA (John William Downer) and the Government Chief Astronomer who was also responsible for building the first telegraph line across Australia and introducing electricity to Adelaide (Charles Todd). TFTC.
We do enjoy a cemetery and this one is rather magnificent. I enjoyed my walk around it in the rain tonight. There were a few Elizabeth’s where my gps was pointing but got the right one in the end and made the nice find. I parked at the right gate but thought it was the wrong gate so got my step count up wandering between the two gates. TFTC another multi for my tally trying to get to 250 by the end of the year.
I came to attempt this cache about a month ago, walking around the nice and peaceful cemetery collecting information to come up with co words for Gz, once I was at GZ I was trying to be mindful not to step on graves out of respect. No luck then for me.
After attending an event last weekend and this multi came up in discussion as a similar hide was placed in mt gambier but has since been achieved (we assumed). After getting a good understanding aboutt where this might be, I came back tonight to have a look in the dark and I came away with the goods. I am to the biggest fan of doing disrespectful things such as this but I guess it is okay when the CO knows of the people inside.

Found after collecting info. Was unsure if correct as position was wary to go into . Signed log and explored the cemetery. A fav point from me . Just love these types of hiding areas.
Awesome cache thankyou. Quite interesting to look around and discover. Definatelly a favorite. Tftc
Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
Started this multi ages ago. Wandered round and found the required information easily. Manipulated the data to get the required coordinates and there I stalled. Several visits, most muggle interrupted, all gave no result. At a recent event I checked my coordinates with a previous finder and confirmed that they were correct.
So this morning, with renewed confidence, I made a small detour on the way to work, and wandered in again. Today however, the GPS wanted me in a slightly different spot, and this time I saw something that I had not spotted previously, and which turned out to be the camo for a cache. Extracted the log, signed and replaced. Really glad to now have this one off the map and enjoying the smiley that comes with the find.

This one was on our to-do-list for quite a long time. We solved the first stage several months ago, but could not found the cache in the final location. I went back to have another attempt about several weeks ago, but still have no clue. Double checked the input data, nothing was wrong. Luckily, this time, J discovered the hidden spot. It should be there, or where else?
Signed the log book. Take nothing, left nothing.
Thank you for the cache, maccamob. Now we can cross this one off on our list.

After double checking my coordinates with another finder, I made a return in daylight. As much as I didn't like treading where one should not, I managed to get the container in hand. TFTC. Hopefully I won't need to do one like this again (the grab - the puzzle but was great). 13/10/2015, 16:55 Find #948
Dropped by to grab the TB needed for the Unlock the Mystery cache. The container has changed since my last visit. Very nice.
Sadly someone has taken the TB but not yet logged it. I will wait.

We have a pretty poor success rate with multis so we don't go looking for them very often, decided to give this one ago, Since we were nearby anyway having grabbed a traditional not far away, enjoyed wandering around in the cemetery, soon had the final worked out. Passing close to this one today, so stopped to make a find. We had no idea this was here! Found the first lot of info quickly, but then had to back track for the second lot, having failed to read the cache info properly. . Found ourselves wandering around at GZ, but the needle eventually settled to make the find. Oh dear!! . Geowife not happy with the location, feeling it's disrespectful to have to walk on the edge of someone's grave - even if it is one of the CO's relatives. It had us wondering if this is actually the correct location or whether some cache creep has occurred. . As noted previously, the container has seen better days and is not water proof.
