DNF

We took a gamble on this one, as it hasn't been found since 2005

It was a hot and tiring day & we searched for a very long time, but to no avail. Could someone please let us know if it's still there?

Found by Ray and Maya at 2:05PM on the 27th of November. Our third for the day and a bit tougher than the last ones. TNLN. Thanks from The Nomads.

Attempted to get there from the eastern side but the roads were closed. Tried from the south with the same problem even though seasonal openings were favourable. Ran out of time to climb from the west.
Very frustrating.
Could someone also explain if Hall of Fame has adopted this cache from 2+4? We were unsure as to whether it should've been removed had we found it.

With Two + Four moving to Perth at the end of the year we will be removing our victoria caches nearer the end of the year. Given Short Break's remote location if someone would like to inherit it we would be more than happy to pass it on. Otherwise could the next kind sole who finds it please remove it for us.

Cheers Two + Four

Good walk up the hill now on to the next one. Cache out in the open again lucky no one around to ever see it except cachers. Took wallet and left heel balm and occy strap. Thanks Two+Four.

I got up early to grab this one and muzza's Mt Difficult cache in the cool of the morning. I was hoping for a quick find. When I arrived at GZ I allowed the GPSr to average for a minute. Then I stepped over the large log in front of me, and there was the cache on the ground in plain view at 0745. It had apparently been hooked out of its hidey hole by some animal. I made my exchange, filled in the log book, and replaced it in its proper place and covered it, with just a little corner peeping out to make it a little easier for future cachers. I took 35 minutes for the 2km walk. Thanks Two+Four (and muzza). Now, on to Mt Difficult!

IN: Green highlighter
OUT: Suction cup smiley face

4.00pm.
Found by Roma & Max.
We now do need a "Long Break".
Roma, still recovering from a recent hip replacement op, had to stop just 200m short of GZ and send Max to make the find.
Thank you Two + Four, this was a very satisfying find.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Face.
Romax.

Found at 11:05 after a little more than a short break. Both my GPS’s were pointing a little distance away and when I couldn’t find it there, I began a circular sweep of the area. I found it after completing three quarters of the circle.

I was on my way to do a maintenance visit to my ‘A Difficult Mountain to Climb’ and my backpack contained two possible containers – no room for my swap box and I forgot to take out a couple of items for this cache.

Thanks for the cache, and a new, easier route up to my cache.

Thanks again to Hall of Fame for the 4WD lift, couldn't have done it without them. Was a wet walk up the hill, and a bit soggy searching for the cache, but our niece from Hall of Fame found it fairly quickly.

Too wet to hang around long and look for something to swap so TNLN

Our 2nd find of the day very fortunate to find the managment access gate unlocked, reducing our walking time greatly, definately 4WD only, smegheads enjoyed the lift as well, found after a good wet walk up the mount.TNLN

I wanted to try this cache via the short walk. In placing ‘A Difficult Mountain to Climb’, I have effectively already done the long walk. I tried the appropriate track from the lake end but was confronted with a ‘Road Closed’ sign. I continued on towards the next cache, and tried to access the track from the other end. Again, it was closed. I didn’t have time to do the long walk so I will try again next time I’m up this way.

Found at 12.10pm whilst having a short break!
A 5 min search ensued before cache revealed itself.
Took some seeds and left a wallet.
This and cache further up the hill makes for a great walk.
Thanks Two+Four

Found on the return trip down from 'A Difficult Mountain To Climb', the ideal place for a short break to rest those weary legs.

Took pencil sharpener and left string of pearls, thanks Two + Four, we needed the rest Wink

Taking it easy on the way down, I was with the last group to reach the cache. Very thankful we didn't park our cars on the other side of the mountain! My GPS was pointing elsewhere, but fortunately Biggles Bear had already located the container. Took the emergency whistle and left a gardening frog tie that has been traveling around some caches. Thanks Two+Four - great to finally meet 2/3 of you!

Found at about 1345. David was at the end of the cachers' conga-line that wound its way back down from the top after visiting A Difficult Mountain to Climb. The lead teams had already found and rehidden the cache when the second wave arrived at GZ. Tree cover and the surrounding hills did little to help GPS accuracy, but Biggles Bear #2 hit the jackpot quickly. Took travelling frog tie, left Nokia keyring. Many thanks to Two + Four for the cache, and for the company over the weekend.
