We gathered the clues to lead us to gz on the previous day which we enjoyed doing and enjoyed reading about Tracker along the way. According to our calcs there was really only one place the cache could be and we could not find it, we expanded the search but still no luck. Thanks anyway Geo-Nads.
Cache container changed and now log only.
Because final location has moved to more pleasant surroundings you may log again

This was another of those must do caches on our trip - being an old skool cache. The clues were solved quickly and within 20 minutes we were walking towards GZ confident we'd done the number correctly. Once there though it looked like a bit of a dumping ground. With a bit of trepidation Webby poked the area with a stick and didn't see anything come out. There was the cache. Unfortunately it's in a bad way and needs maintenance.
I visited the start of this cache quite a few years ago and today it was time to continue the journey.
On the way to the spot I had worked out we saw 2 police officers arresting a fellow who was showing some resistance.
Off we went from WP2 and after a nice walk, and seeing some swarming bees, located the sign with the information we needed to continue.
Back to the car and did the math.
Knowing a closer entry point to GZ it was a much shorter walk to a quick find.
Unfortunatly the cache was quite wet and the log was just mush. A sad end to such a great cache.

I started the process yesterday by visiting WP1 and gathering the required information. However, as it was getting a bit late, I decided to postpone the completion of this multi and attempt a couple of quick traditional caches instead.
Early this morning I drove down to WP2, parked and took the longish walk to GZ where the cache was quickly found.
It’s probably not the ideal place to hide a cache. The log is mostly a sodden mass, though I was able to find a relatively dry piece to sign on.
I really enjoyed the beautiful walk and learning of the fine work and skills of Tracker Riley.
Thanks Team Geo-Nads, it gets a favourite from me.

We are in Dubbo for a few days visiting relos so have time to complete a couple of multis.
I have heard of the story of Tracker Riley, my sister is the historian at Dubbo library so she has been a wealth of knowledge. So as we look for the cache we become the tracker, eventually the cache was found,
hiding in its own cave.
Thanks Team Geo-Nads for putting this series together , worth a favourite point

In Dubbo for a week’s SES deployment but long hours really didn’t fit in with attempting anything other than a few quick grabs. However, was adamant to get this multi in honour of a close friend with a similar name who is about to enter the police force. Google saved me research time (other than a quick early morning visit to WP1) but after approaching GZ from the closer end of the path had to hang around awhile for passing muggles who would definitely have wondered why I was climbing around a rubbish dumping ground. Agree with previous logs, the final hide does no service to the history or man.
Some of the clan were walking fast ahead in the wrong direction while we were still trying to work out where to go. Convinced them to slow down a little and finally made the find. TFTC.
Locked out of location despite being in the time open on the sign. Was really looking forward to finding out about tracker Riley. May try tomorrow.
This one just didn't want to be found by us! The first night the cemetery was shut even though it was within the hours stated on the sign. We returned in the morning and quickly had a set of coordinates. We didn't really understand the description properly so were very confused when we showed up at wp2. What were we to do from here? After a significant walk along the river, we had a final wp. By this time we had spent much more time here than we had expected and were running late for dinner engagements so we left and returned the next morning to grab the cache which was quickly found. It is amazing the amount of water that has come through here and incredible that there isn't more lasting damage. Pretty awe-inspiring. Thanks Team Geo-Nads

A nice jaunt through town for this one and some interesting history.
Once GZ calculated a short walk to GZ- the cache however must have got flooded when Dubbo was recently [?] and the whole cache is waterlogged. It needs some drying out and TLC.
Anyway, TFTC!

Wow this was a real challenge!
The first part was quite easy but not knowing wether to use the whole date or not was a geuss.
The second part was challenging as had no idea how far to walk down the path.
The third part was hardish, knew where to go but terrain was fun going here and there and everywhere.
Saw a big spiky achidna just infront of us. Was quite funny glad it wasn't agressive.
Eventually found

Found on a lovely winter's day with K Ranger Gril & Tentacles.
THanks for the history lesson.
We should have followed the path from WP 2 to 3 but then we wouldn't have seen the Echidna we did.
Ended up crossing the river 8 times - a new record.

No prickles was nice, just a spikey echidna that was a fun find. Went the adventurous way round, climbed down river bank and got wet socks. Good sunny day outside, nice walk along river. TFTC
We have a couple of days in Dubbo to see the sights and do some local caches of course TFTC.
Found by Mary & David at 1510. Did this one in instalments through the day. WP1 was very special. A minor hiccup at WP2, which we solved with some lateral thinking. Our thanks to Team Geo-Nads.
Found at 4.55pm GAFF1. One of the nicest caches we have done in Dubbo. An intersting topic, a serene starting spot and a picturesque walk along the river - which was quite high!
We had to look up the hint as we were not sure that we were at the right spot after such lovely locations at the previous wpts - however we shouldn't have doubted ourselves so much.
Thanks Team Geo_Nads - a great cache that involved some serious thinking at times.

I visited the grave for the Riley's but did not continue on to the final destination due to no time (passing through Dubbo only), nevertheless I found the exercise interesting. TFTC. Tavurvur

Like previous cachers, we found some of the clues a bit confusing, eg does the year include the 19xx part, and does years in the service include beginning and end years. Being locals for the last 10 years, though, we knew where the walk bit was going to be, so we could check the resulting co-ordinates. Anyway we found it in the end. We also found a couple of copper plaques beside the highway, where the walking track runs near the road, that have more biographical info in Tracker Riley's own words. This is worth the extra walk, for those interested in history.

In company with gerrynewgirl and livinglife we started this one near the co-ords of another multi, in the pouring rain. Multi's are great as long as the information is clear and I give all my multi's a number checking equation which helps to confirm that there are no errors on such a long winded multi as this one. However, as an ex-NSW copper I too enjoyed the challenge but thought that the final location was rather poorly chosen. TN left token.
While doing another multi in the company of Weroamin & Gerrynewgirl, we found this started at a point we were at so carriied on with this cache. We were unsure of the reading of co-ordinates at one point, but managed to work out correct reading. An enjoyable walk even in the rain. We managed to be first to spot this cache, good to be a step ahead of Weroamin. A rough estimate of time needed would be helpful. TFTC
Whilst caching in the company of weroamin and livinglife at a multi we noted that this cache began at the same location, so after completing the questions at this site we sauntered off and completed this one................a few false starts and locations though...............and quite a deal of walking in the rain the booty was eventually found by livinglife.
It was a pity that an approximate time to complete was not included in the notes and that some of the questions were not so clear as well as being able to read what the "Yellow Guards" were telling us.
Still, we enjoyed the finish. TFTC.

Found @ 2000 in the company of Vombatus while in to Dubbo to do the fireworks for the Monster Truck Show. We found the information at wpt1 extremely interesting . We had seen this bike track on our travels aroused Dubbo but had never realized the significance of the name.and then we headed off to wpt2 which was another interesting location, we had a little bit of trouble interpreting the correct numbers here but once this was sorted out we were soon on our way to gz where unfortunately we felt that the site chosen was a bit of a let down for another wise excellent cache
Thanks Team Geo-Nads for the cache and for the history lesson

One of many caches discovered with Team Crackers whilst on a road trip to Yarrawonga, Wagga Wagga, Deni and Dubbo for various fireworks displays.
Really loved this cache and had fun deciphering the clues let along learning about a fine man and setting about the City of Dubbo.
With respect to the cache owners and the efforts you put in, I found the final location a little disrespectful to the man, Tracker Riley (unless I missed something).

What a fantastic history lesson on a great man, shame the final location is a bit of a rubbish tip.
Easy find but had to avoid a few muggles

Finally, we have done this one!! Interesting history lesson, and a good walk....especially the way we did it!
Had the Grankids with us, a first for them.
Left: felt rat, Elephant frig magnet and keyring.
Took: ball, PNG coin and a bear on box.

Found it ok. We were a little confused about wpt 2 and walked a fair way with the kids, wondering if we had missed something. Turned out we hadn't and everything resolved itself. Took some friends along on this one. Nice cache and associated walk. Thanks
we started well in the rain but ran into trouble at point 2, once again we could be wrong but when we got to here the gate was locked, no access to anyone. It seemed to be the right place.
next time...
next time...
Finally got to finish this one at about 9pm. Had no problem finding GZ. Co-ords were spot on. Thanx for the history lesson and a stroll around, bit eerie by moonlight tho. Took travel tissues (to make room in container) left mini glow-stick.
Actually on my third go with three weeks between! The first time I was headed north with limited time so only did WP1. Returning, I went to WP2 and came up empty handed. A couple more caches and a coffee later I had a good idea of what was actually required and so it was - WP2 and then the cache found without trouble. Thanks Team Geo-nads for a good walk and cache with a little difference to make me think!
After several attempts, one which doubted that it existed, was located. TNLNSL. This is an update from the Grey Ghost, who has now ben promoted to the Great Ghost.
After several attempts, finally located cache. Ignore previous log...TNLN SL. Cache is still in good condition..
Searched area, lots of concrete. Prolific growth of weeds. No sign of any item relevant to a cache. I wonder if it has been 'muggled'?
This was a great cache, especially for the geodogs, as they got to have a swim in the river. Found all waypoints easily and GZ was a piece of cake.
Yes sorry to disappoint MBO but the coins have now headed to Stockton and they have not all been logged out of this cache. I no longer thave the codes so cannot do it myself.
Because there were four the best I can do is email their new owners and ask them to 'grab' and move the coins on.
It's a lovely cache all the same. Particularly if your going to have a look at the 'Tracker Riley' dislay at the Local Gaol during your stay.

Got to WP1 - Had to wait for the relatives to place flowers, water them, pay respects, then leave, eventually.
Then went on a WILD GOOSE CHASE, OK, I needed to use the 4 DIGIT number of the year, not what the headstone says!!!!!! (Turned out to be QUITE A REASONABLE EXPECTATION, as the 2 digit number put me into an Aboriginal reserve open to the public, so I thought this was just right!!!
Then, went for a nice walk along the river - very cunning how you avoided the other waypoint of the other cache there!
Then, an easy & pleasant walk to cache. NOTE - NO coins or TB's were in cache, AT ALL!!!!.
Thanks for a pleasant walk.

Just dropping of Dubbo's Biggest travelbug to date, The Drop Bear. Thought I'd log the Bear in here as this is the closest cache to my home co-ordinates.
Easy to log, just come for a ride .

Welll this took us to many parts of Dubbo. we did not have a street map and had to do many detours. However we finally got on track and found it. Nice hide and nice walks. TNLNSL
should have done this one a long time ago instead of leaving it,well worth the walk and the read of history passed

I enjoyed following this cache, but think I may have missed something. At WPT2, I expected to find some information but failed. So I just started walking and eventually found what I needed. From there it was off to GZ.
For such a great man, it was a rather ignominious place to complete the cache. None-the-less, I hunted around for a short while before locting it. Thanks for the cache and a little lesson in history.

What a nice walk!! We completed this over two days. Interesting combination of places - but they all make for a logical tour. Took 'all men are animals' keyring and left pencil.
This one was a doosy. Took us a couple of hours to complete. Probably not the best cache to do on a 39 degree day.
Mrs P and Little P rested half way while I went to seek out the cache.
Great cache Mr Nads.

Again with the thistles!!! Tracker Riley must have been an incredible man. Had never heard of him until this trip. Took two days to find this one as light faded too much around GZ. (I wasn't poking my hands anywhere without first seeing what may be lurking around). Extraction of the cache proved difficult due to the amount of people wandering past.
Great history lesson, Nads. Thanks.

Yeah - it was an... interesting night.
Finding the Forester keys were definately a height of it. Lets face it - you lose you key in the bush the only better group to find them other than cachers would be gold prospectors I suppose.

What’s better than finding a cache at 10:30 at night? Finding your car keys 1/2 an hour later. Finding the cache was only a little easier than finding the keys. I personally think that bronze dropped the keys on purpose to make me walk to the cache site twice (as he didn’t ‘discover’ the keys were lost till we had walked back to the car.)
had a bit of tuble with some of the math but got there in the end

well, Im not sure if I had the co-ords correct after all the math i did, but i did end up near an area that matched the clues. Some of my calculations put me Kilometers out in the wrond directions. even had the cache setters check my math that evening to confirm correct co-ords...
couldnt find the final cache though.
It might be worth providing some extra help for those long-sdistance trvellers who would attlempot this cache, as local knowledge is a help. but i had fun driving all over dsubbe to find some of the clues.
good one guys!

Took a couple of goes on this one. With the short days we ran out of light the first time. My great neighbour and I got as far as the poles a couple of weeks ago and then I loaded the wife, dog, boys and their friend Blane, all the bikes and set off with plenty of day light.
It was a lovely day, some threatening clouds and an elusive cache. Searched for half an hour and needed to decrypt to find.
Swapped two light sticks and a bloody annoying key finder for a mirror ball, keyring and little bananas in pajama's figurine.
Thanks Nads.

Found by Ray and Maya (The Nomads) on 1st June, 2003 at 2-45 PM, this one took a bit of sleuthing as we could not make sense of the calculations for the second clue. We made some assumptions then asked a few questions at the information center and the old goal, this allowed us to complete the calculations for the final location, and from there we found the cache easily. We had to be somewhat discreet as it was a popular people place. We took the magnifying glass and left a pack of tissues. Thanks for the history lesson, The Nomads.
Done this one with rellies who were down from Forresters Beach, Brooke, Phill & Jeff, poor Kristy had to stay because she was sick. They took a dash compas & Key finder. They left Balloons & Mini Telescope. Great morning had by all, Thanx Geo-Nad's
