We solved the clues but couldn't find it at gz. As mentioned, this might need maintenance.

I'd done the hard work years ago but didn't have time that day. Finally back in the area today but I wasn't able to find the cache.
Thanks Alan-san for the history.

Did the calculations and the photos show I was in the right spot but no luck. Given the previous log I think this may need maintenance
[violet]I'm currently hitchhiking my way around the world and geocaching everywhere I go. My first stop was in Ireland where I spent a couple weeks touring the country. I then flew to London and spent a couple weeks touring the United Kingdom. From there I made my way through the tunnel and up to Amsterdam and then back down to Belgium. After that I headed for France. Then from there I headed to Portugal for a mega event that was happening. After that I headed for Denmark to attend another Mega event. I then made my way North into Sweden and then even further North to Norway. After that I proceeded to work my way back down South through Finland and then ferry hopped my way through a few of the islands to arrive back in Sweden. Next I made my way to Germany for another Mega event and then back to the Netherlands for still another mega event before heading for Luxembourg. After that the next stop along my journey was Switzerland. I then made a quick detour up to Belgium to grab a July 2000 geocache I had overlooked before making my way to Croatia passing through Austria and Slovenia along the way. After that my route took me East to Serbia and then through Romania into Moldova. I then couldn't resist going North and crossing into the Ukraine. After that I began heading South passing through Romania once again. I then passed through Bulgaria as I raced for Turkey in order to catch a flight to Australia timing it so that I could attend a mega event happening there. I then spent several days traveling around the Melbourne area grabbing geocaches that would fill out some of the remaining gaps I had towards achieving quadruple jasmer.
Thank you so much for placing this geocache!

This was an enjoyable multi which we started a few weeks ago, but left the find till today to fill a square for our P366. Alan-san - unfortunately it looks as though the cache has been partially muggled... only the log in its plastic bag is remaining. No container to be found, and unfortunately we didn't have anything on us to use as a makeshift container.
Thank you Alan-san for an informative multi. This is my very first multi and I look forward to doing a whole heap more if they are as well thought out and interesting as this one.
Container is in good condition but not behind any stacked bricks anymore. I've tried to tuck it a little further back to avoid idle muggle discovery and interference.

Found it! My first time in melbourne and I've really enjoyed my stay in Malvern. Musical Geocachers should check out my new friends at the Stonnington City Brass Band - practice is just around the corner from here
It was far too nice a day to just sit around so I got on my bike to grab a few caches. This was the first for the day. A interesting multi. TNLN. TFTC.
Dropping my father off to visit mum at Cabrini and you know how it is, I need to grab a few caches on my way home.
Solved the first part in the car and had a short walk to finish off. Grabbed a Subway on the way back to the car for lunch (Yum).
Thanks for placing this cache Alan-san

I knew I was coming down here this afternoon, so over lunch at work I had a quick look at these notes, and pretty quickly realised I was able to do the multi part of the cache from my office! Very handy...
The calculations gave a possible, but inconclusive GZ, which I headed off to after my meeting and another nearby cache. Although finding a carpark actually proved more difficult than finding the cache which, after parking nearby, was quickly revealed in a very likely spot.
TFTC Alan-san. Nice old cache here!

As many before me, I am going for Multi Month this July. As I was planning which Multis to hit on my way to the west, I did the first step, and headed straight to wp2. Quickly got the my numbers and headed to GZ. Here I had to wait a while, as it seems to be a hangout spot for the youths of the local high schools. Luckily the soon moved off, either to bit so quietly spy on some friends who were apparently kissing in another alley (the commentary was so pound I could here it in my car 50m away), or due to the rain. Found the required bricks, signed the logs and crept off, as I could here the muggle teens coming back. Thank you so much for the great multi!
Nice find working together with Crazometer <3 Our second multi! Starting to like these, a little more challenging than traditionals. TFTC. Left a smiley
Pouring with rain and icy cold temperatures meant that the geokids weren't that keen on getting out of the car. However, we had dropped geodad at work nearby and had a few hours to kill before meeting grandparents nearby (3 days no kids coming up woohoo). I really didn't fancy spending hours trapped in a shopping centre so I told them to toughen up. Found the WPs easy enough. They were interested in the function of where we stopped. Our final destination had us concerned that we had everything wrong. Finally Geokid2 braved it and stuck her hand in and found it. A bit of a smelly spot! Thanks for the cache.

So close to home but finally got the smiley. Really interesting to learn more of the local history. Still quite a busy location, I looked a bit suspicious with my mini torch at dusk

Nice find on a crisp Monday morning. Used one of the modes of transport that the cache is about to find it. No sign of the 2 x trackables marked as being in this cache however. Tftc.
I had planned to do this and another nearby multi today in my attempt to qualify for the Multicache Month Challenge Cache (GC5M69G). This was multi #22 of the 31 multis I needed to do in March.
I found the first clue on the web a while ago. Today I located the Federation Marker and collected the clue. I did the arithmetic, calculated the cache co-ords and then entered them into my GPSr. Having found a terrific carparking spot I decided to walk the short distance to GZ. I searched for a while without success, being careful not to touch any of the rubbish at GZ. I suddenly noticed something not quite right and fortunately found the cache. I signed the logbook at 6:15 pm and then carefully returned the cache to its hiding spot. TNLN.
Thanks Alan-san for the good multi and the well-hidden cache. I really enjoyed reading the interesting history of the Malvern Star bike and Melbourne's trams. [^] It's great to see this old 2003 cache still there and being found regularly.

Suscoe's 2nd find of today as we wandered about on a gloriously sunny day.
However it did get pretty hot during the afternoon!!!!!
We managed a park, sorted the co-ordinates and like the previous visitor nothing was there, except rubbish bins, rubbish and building waste.
So after a few laps we looked a bit wider and there some metres away was the bottom of a cache, in full view of all and sundry, poking out from somewhere we think it should not have been.
Well the log was then signed, we considered the cache notes and then popped this little chap where we suspect it was supposed to have been located.
Thanks to Alan-san for creating this neat multi, the things you learn these days!!!!

I couldn't come up with the goods here. I am sure that I was at GZ because the hint confirmed the location. A long search in all the obvious locations were fruitless. Another wider search also failed. Thanks for the hunt Alan-san.

Find #201
Had worked this out a while aback and braved the mixed weather on the bike this morning (appropriately given the cache theme). I've read a fair bit about Hubert Opperman so good to see the original Malvern Star location. GZ took me to an odd looking are but the hint matched and there was the cache. TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache Alan-san.
Had a close up view of Melbourne transport a short while after finding this when my front wheel slid on the wet tram tracks on High St and I took a nose dive off the bike. No harm done (though I had to leave a note on the parked car I banged my helmet on) so on the way again soon.

Solved some time ago but always too many muggles nearby.
This morning I happened to be in the area so dropped by to find it deserted.

Find #918
Stemicmitsar and I again teamed up for a Friday/Saturday caching run. Tonight's primary goal was Steve's 3000th find.
We had an uncharacteristically slow start because we were muggled out at the first four or five caches we attempted and it was around an hour after we left Steve's place before we made our first find.
I was keen to do this multi to increase my count of regular sized containers found and it also made a nice change of pace from trads.
Dodging traffic and very many muggles was the name of the game and thankfully when we arrived at GZ we found we could search in relative security from muggles' prying eyes. Steve made the find and with our names in the log, we were off to the next one. SL TFTC

Find 982 at 22:05. Tonight I was out on an evening caching run with Burge. I'm trying to reach 1,000 finds by the end of the year so need to clock up a few more finds this week to get there! We were aiming for many of the recently placed caches around the inner south east (along with some older ones!) and all up we found 15 tonight. This was find number 9.
I had solved the clues for this multi way back in June but hadn't had time to locate the final until tonight. Thankfully the area around GZ was muggle-free and it allowed us to locate the container relatively easily. Thanks for the cache, Alan-san!

Set about trying to clear the multis around the Malvern area and this cache has been on my radar for awhile. Great feeling to be able to tick this one off.
Lots of hard rubbish has been dumped right next to GZ which does hinder cache extraction. Was able to sign log with a bit of work.

A nice little find while out doing the shopping. There is a lot of dumping going on around GZ, so it might be an opportunity for some CITO or you maybe could pick up a bit of bric-a-brac. Thanks!

Today was to be a tram trip extravaganza and a chance to pick up a slack handful of those puzzle caches that I'd found but somehow not gotten around to finding just yet.
Having visited the area in times passed with Team Crackers et al, I had the opportunity to pick up a multi I'd missed having been already cleared by the others.
Soon had the information in hand, and was loitoring by a dubious looking GZ, thinking it can't be - can it!
Oh yes it can it would be the answer although it took a while to retrieve since it was rather busy for a side street.
Thanks for the history lesson and for bringing me to this little part of town. Thanks for the cache.
As I wandered back to the tram, the flash mob was still in full force a good 20 mins after official finishing time.
My apologies to the cache owner for the exceedingly large delay in logging this find.
For quite a few months life has had an awkward habit of generally getting in the way of caching. Not completely enough that I havent been able to go searching and occasionally finding, but certainly enough to when it actually came around to writing and logging the finds. I can only apologise for any records, karma targets or unloved cache days that have been skewed as a result of these late entries.
Thank you for placing the cache and thus enticing me to get off my backside and get out and explore.

Like others before me I headed down to do this cache on my way to the flash mob event. Busy traffic made me a bit later than I anticipated but luckily I found a car park close by and found the info I was after. A short walk had me at Gz where I made the find reasonably quickly. I then quickly made my way back to the car and was about to drive off when I realised that the event was only 100m or so away. This was an interesting cache. Thanks Alan-san

I was in the area killing a bit of time before the WWFM around the corner. I found what I needed and was about to head for GZ when Two_Drews turned up, who apparently had found this but was unable to sign the log on a previous visit, So we headed off together.
At GZ there was a muggle loitering on her phone, but the arrival of 2 gentlemen to this quiet spot was clearly outside of her comfort zone, and she moved on quickly.
The find was made with minimal prompting from two_Drews, who was happy to be able to finally sign the log. After signing it myself I returned it to it's position before heading to the Flash mob.
Thanks Alan-san for this multi. A nice warm up for the days caching activities.

Unusual place to locate a cache but interesting history along the way. At least I learnt something. TFTC.
I lived in this area many years ago, so it was a joy to wander around. Yes, it is a shame that these great markers are not replaced as they do provide some interesting local history. Appropriately, I was on the bike for this cache! At GZ, there is a lot of rubbish around, but the cache is still happily sitting in place after previous finder replaced properly. Thanks for the cache and the fun, Alan-san.
Found with nirgalagrin... now I have my own account.

So, this is where the two legends (Malvern Star and Oppy) come together... cool!
Though I'd calculated the second waypoint while at the previous cache, we still parked at the first for curiosity's sake... why the missing plaque had not been replaced is anyone's guess.
A short walk, and the cache location was determined. Another little stroll, and I had the container in my sights. Fortunately, tools were at hand to retrieve it, so it's back where the hint states.
Thanks for the history lesson and the cache.

A nice quick historic multi with good co-ords and nothing ambiguous - just the way I like them! Only problem I had was that I couldn't reach the container at GZ because it was pushed too far under and there was nothing handy to poke and prod it to within reach. It may need some CO attention. So I couldn't sign the log although I saw the container and have a photo of it as proof (if required). If I'm in the area in the future and can sign the log I will comply at a later date. Caught a #64 tram to the cache area and a #5 to the city later. Thanks for a fun multi Alan-san.
An easy and enjoyable third cache for The James Gang. Mama James did the research while recuperating from surgery, and Papa James did most of the footwork with the boys. Thank you Alan-San for an interesting piece of local history.
Great easy cache and some interesting history, had abit of trouble with the marker website but it ended out posotive.

I hit the road tonight with Marshy on our usual Monday night cache run. Trailrunning, who is part of The Demolition Crew was not able to come out this night so it was just myself and Marshy. We had a heap of puzzles solved and multis GZ coords to go to so our plan was to get as many of those during the night, as well as any other cache along the way. We had a great run with about 40 caches netted for the night.
This was just one of many multis we had to complete for the night. With the information required to find GZ collected over a period of time we headed straight to GZ. A quick search and the second aspot we searched the cache was found. Thanks for the hide.

One of about 40 finds on another installment in the legendary night caching runs of "The Demolition Crew" aka me, Quasar3671 and Trailrunning. Tonight we were minus Trailrunning, so it was just Marty and I. It was a clean up night for multi's and mystery caches. We have worked on so many over the previous months, tonight was the final chapter for them, time to collect so to speak. So we did.
Another done and solved over previous caching runs. Collected GZ tonight. Second corner we checked, always the way. TFTC Alan-san.

TFTC my first puzzle cache... and my first cache that had stuff in it! woo! I was just out doing the grocery shopping, and thought id drop by, but I did arouse suspicion from a local Malvern mum who I'm sure thought I was wanting to break into a car. She stopped walking her little fluffy dog and quite obviously watched me empty the contents of this cache onto the ground. I sat and read the log book before signing, then bundled it all back in and casually walked around the corner, waiting for her to leave so I could return the cache back in place. I'll have to drop in later with a little prize to add to this cache
Spladem and I had a numbers plan. Not your normal "lets get lots of caches" but a "lets go get some multi's". I have to admit that forgetting about the numbers and just enjoying the experience of collecting the clues with no rush was very enjoyable. It was frustration to have to get out the tablet to look up a clue on a website. All seemed pointless, however the rest of the clue gathering was enjoyable and then a more than short trip to GZ. TFTC
Out on another legendary night caching run with good mate Justin (Covert) we only picked up a few for the night, but that didn't stop the fun.. a quick search on the website, then a few wp's later we were finding and signing the log for find Thanks Alan san for the hide and find #2101
I faffed around at home today for hours, trying to decide where to head out caching today. I’d always rather cache with someone else, but I couldn’t find any takers today and it was making me indecisive. In the end, a puzzle I had solved so long ago that I had lost all my working for and this cache, because it’s so old, turned out to be the ones I was going to aim for. I had researched the answer for wp1 before leaving home, quickly grabbed the answer to wp2 and moved on to the cache hide for a quick pick up. I was nearly sprung by some youths as I returned the cache, but speed and experience meant the cache was safely away before they came around the corner. Thanks for the cache Alan-san
Down in lovely Malvern for brunch with some lively ladies. I slipped out for a shop and geocache. Soon found after a short pleasant stroll.
Came down to this part of town to catch up with old school friends. Good to have a multi nearby so drjim7 did a bit of fancy footwork to sort out WP1. WP2 was a bit more straightforward. TFTC.
I received a phone call half-way through this multi, and was distracted for a while. When colee_babee and PrincessDiala seemed to struggle to find the cache I just pointed at something that looked suspicious - and there it was!

Out on a caching day with coley_babee and lochb to clear out annoying multi's and solved puzzles from our maps.
Coley and I worked out the clues and then the final GZ as lochb was talking business on the phone. In the end she was the one that finds the cache. haha
Thanks Alan-san for the short walk in what seems like another bridal district in Melbourne.

I did my homework for this cache a few weeks ago and it was only today that I had a chance to finish it off. We parked in the nearby street and walked over to the marker where the info was soon located. The maths was done very easily as I had made a document that made it easy for me. We made the short walk to GZ and the cache was easily located thanks to the clue. Thanks for another great multi Alan-san

First of 3 finds today. I had the day off and have slept half the day off so I thought I would make up by at least being productive in caching.
I had come here before and walked all the way home in glenferrie at 1.30am. It was freezing cold and I was with 2 of my muggle mates who wouldn't be appreciative of me caching in the dead of night, so I knew I would have to put this off for another day. I had stopped in time to gather the appropriate clues before leaving so that I could at least be ready to grab the cache the next time I was here.
And today came. Walked up to GZ, had a little fiddle around and felt the cache in my hands. I signed the log and left tb before moving on. TFTC

Found it today together with nadya. A very nice shopping street, stopped at one place for a coffee with pretzels. At the waypoint 2 we met Yarra trams man who told us interesting things about the depot. And then the tram went off tracks at the entry to the depot and 5 muggle tram drivers were trying to put it back on rails (they succeeded finally). The cache itself was found easily due to the hint. We first located a sistema container lid and thought that the rest of the cache has gone but that wasn't true, this lid had no relation to cache at all.

nice simple multi to do today. Don't need anything complicated today with my drug addled brain.
Took nothing and left nothing, as I had no swappable items with me.
By the way, did you know that bottle caps and used met tickets are not really swappable items?
Thanks for the hunt and the diversion.

That was a pleasant walk down Glenferrie Rd. Found the cache without difficulty. No muggles around however did find a snail on the lid to keep me company.
Ostara74 and I had a great morning catching with a friend and her gorgeous baby, then we headed up here, as Ostara74 had an appointment nearby. I had looked for this cache ages ago, right back when I had first started caching, and had not had any luck. Either the hint was not a descriptive back then or I did read it. So we had a juice in one of the ridiculously expensive cafes on high street and went through the clues, using Ostara's iPhone to get the details from the interwebs for the first clue. Ostara was able to find the correct reference and so we headed for slue number two. As we walked there I read the description and the hint, and realised it sounded similar to the area I had found first time I did the cache. So I figured I would check there again, as it was on the way from where we had parked, to WP2. Everything seemed to match and when I looked there was the cache! We signed the log quickly and I grab the Geocoin, figured it could come to the 'Easter at home event we are going to tomorrow. The cache is in good condition. Thanks Alan-san for a cool cache that took me (guessing) around 2 years to finally grab!
Finally we have this out of the way. This has been on our to do list for a LONG time. TFTC.
Interesting to learn about Bruce Small and the genesis of Malvern Star. My father managed one of Bruce Small's shops in Adelaide in the days before Bruce went to the Gold Coast, became Mayor and introduced bikini clad meter maids. Managed to quickly grab the cache while a couple of guys had smoko on the other side - so quick that I missed the TB's. TFTC.
This was a great little multi that took me on a quick tour of the area.
The architecture at one of the waypoints was great, managed to park right out the front and a quick move onto GZ.
2 builders working only 20m away were on the other side so had no idea of me as I signing the log and left a TB.

#164 - What a perfect day to go do this one... I have never seen Glenferrie rd so quiet. Certainly didn't need to struggle to find a parking space . We both enjoyed this a lot. Loved those buildings at wp2! Nice walk to GZ and a quick find. Left a TB.

Quick find by SirJ-Oz @ 2245 - a collection of contractors @ GZ stymied a previous pass during daylight hours, luckily the drizzle had the streets empty this time. TNLNSL-TFTC.
Found @ 22:45 with AmethystPig. We had both done the groundwork separately but decided to visit GZ on the way home from a night caching adventure. A quick find after Google maps had it spot on. TNLNSL TFTC.
An early morning find. Caffeine in hand whilst I had an hour to spare waiting for a job interview nearby.
Thanks for the history of the area.
I did the OPPY challenge in 1996. An AUDAX ride that wa for 24 hours. Com[pleted 411 km's. Great Australian sportsman

We used to frequent this area quite a bit back in the day and were pleased to come here again. We gathered the info but were almost foiled at the eleventh hour by a muggle loading his car. A bit more of a walk around and we were able to find what we were looking for in peace Thanks for a great cache.
Find 13/18 for the day, having the first multi clues on the Internet wasn't much help in Malvern, however I made an educated guess, found my way and found the cache shortly after.
Thoroughly enjoyed visiting these historic sites around Malvern while doing this cache. Found with Chocolate_ali on a cold afternoon. TFTC
No problems with the clues, and the car park was quiet at around3:15pm.
It's a bit of a worry that you're in plain sight of the office windows. Hope nobody was watching. Did the shoelace manoeuvre just in case, both times.
Strange that I'd been caching for 18 months when this one was placed but hadn't attempted it before. Anyway, it's off my list now.
Nice cache, thanks.

Found @ 14:46. Wasn't hidden very well and tried to hide it better when putting it back, which was hard as muggles were about.
Took Lucky Black TB, left Erdinger Pikantus bottle cap.

Back to log it after being foiled by muggles previously. Left Lucky Black TB TFTC
A nice cache to fill in some time while waiting for Mrs GarnerCX to come out of day surgery at a nearby hospital. Cheers.
Was able to work this out before arriving at GZ
Found on the way home from a long day at work, nothing like a bit of caching to relax you

Easy find once all the details are figured out. I had a good idea where it was, but I had to wait about 10 minutes for a nearby van (that was being unloaded) to move on. Made the dash, took the travel bug, left a toy car. TFTC.
Return visit after not noticing the reference to the removed marker. Interesting history. Glenferrie Rd surprisingly busy for Sunday following Boxing Day.

Had to go to Cabrini early this morning and drop of EB99 so a bit of early research led me to the 2nd waypoint where a man was standing reading the sign and playing with an electrical gadget of some kind. Noticing a fellow cacher on a before work find, I departed to get a latte from across the road while he did his calculations. Some 15 minutes later after making my own calculations, I had the cache in hand and noted I could be accused of stalking Toycar-sorry about that Toycar, I should have come up and startled, I mean, introduced myself to you. (this is the first time I've come across another cacher in the field). Thanks for the cache. Took nothing, left GEO-Gekko TB
