Thanks for bringing us here Biggles Bear.

Had another go here today, at least there wasn't as much water as last time i was here in november.
Next time im on holidays in Ballarat ill check this one out on my way home again, hopefully ill have more luck next time around
Thanks Biggles Bear!

Clambered down to the creek and spent a while looking with no success. However I only checked one side (where the coords led me) so maybe more looking time required! I will have another go! Thanks to Biggles Bear for this one.
Scrambled all around here, but no sign for us. Swept away in the last floods, or just too hard for us? Who knows.
It might be one of those obvious ones that I am good at missing... or not. Another cacher arrived while I was searching - there's a fair chance he knows how frustrating I found this one... Thanks for the close-up look at an impressive structure.
Not too much water today, just water in the creek. Earned the terrain stars climbing down and back up again. A great location for a cache. Drove past this one 6 months ago coming from Adelaide and wanted to get it but missed the turn-off. This time I planned ahead so I wouldn't miss it. SL. TFTC.
Just one of the 75 caches found during my 'Intervening Days III' cache hunt. Found with Marshy (Blacklegend). Made the short detour to GZ. Last find for the trip. Tricky find at 4:11 am on our loop through Ballan back to Melton and on to home, well I have been caching for 22 hours now. Marshy attempted to find the cache first but couldn't get down enough so I gave it a crack. Very tricky and steep down the side of the sandstone viaduct, attempt with great caution. Found the cache hidden below. Signed the log. TFTC.
52nd and last of 52 for the day after attending Intervening Days III. Found with Marty (Quasar3671) now in night caching mode with flashlights out.... Well this one brings me up my 1600th find. I initially tried to get to this one, but was not able to. Not agile enough. Marty however was, so he made the scramble to the cache. I lit up the way with the torch. Interesting placement, and a bit of a challenge. TFTC.
What an adventure this one turned out to be. With the Creek a tad full of water, a non-wet approach was ruled out (wimps we are). However, my Comrade, whom I will call 'Courageous Darren' descended from the Bridge itself and back up (so I could fill in the Log - I wasn't game to risk the rickety plod legs who have trouble even on level ground). 'Courageous' descended and ascended not once but twice (the second time to put the cache back). I'd NEVER recommend anyone do it the way this lissom lad undertook. Still, some superb photos of the over 140 year old Bridge. Pity there is some spoiling graffiti, which makes me both cringe and angry - and the scrawl was not in the least witty or particularly interesting. The location (which will have great potential as a Picnic spot once the new Highway route opens) is quite the contrast with the roaring traffic and the construction of the new bridges nearby.
Looked for this one around lunchtime in the pouring rain.
I always stop here on my way to and from Ballarat, and i have NEVER seen water flowing through here, wow!
Next trip i'll be back for this one

The last time we were here this one was out of operation and someone had rolled a car off the nearby cliff.
We found it easily and then got a few nice sized rocks for the garden
Took rocks... Left nothing........

A lovely old bridge- a pity people use the area for a dump. The Jeep that had been rolled over the edge last time we were here is gone.

Glad I'm not the only one. Only hunted for 5 or 6 mins as we didn't have a lot of spare time. Will call in again when it's back on line....
BB, 3 DNF's, might need a check.
Thanks for making me stop here, fantastic bridge and a lovely walk around the base (apart from the trash) Have driven over countless times and always wanted to stop and have look.
Looking forward to logging in the future.

Looked hard and well for this one. Could not find. Up and below. GPS a little over the place, but looked and looked.

Looking at post from 28/09/09....no way was this cache here. I found an awesome spot where I think it might have been once whilst out with Sauceoz..... Perhaps those massive storms & rains washed it away with all the rubbish. Not much rubbish about but a lot of rushing water evident.......
Attempted this one with Moosemoosemoose and came to the asme conclusion the storms a few weeks ago could well ave sent this cache on it's merry way.
Might be worth the cache owner having a quick check to see if it is where it is suppose to be.
Found with son Australia day. Live locally, might arrange a cleanup on cleanup Australia day!

A lovely bridge, unfortuntely the picture postcard spot is spoiled by rubbish been thrown into the creek. Found with Mr Jibblets on a caching day in the western suburbs after leaving 'Intervening Days II (Event Cache)' TFTH...SL....TNLN
A nice easy find, found with the Walenator's on a caching day in the western suburbs in transit back from 'Intervening Days II (Event Cache) we made a quick stop to grab this cache in a picturesque area only to be let down by lazy muggle's using it as a rubbish dump.

Found after the Merrimu event cache. Had our eye on this for a while but couldn't do it with the Lil' monster cacher in tow. Not one to do after rains as it was very slippery. Also lots of glass, so no thongs. TFTC.

@ 7.10pm.
The area around GZ, although is pretty invaded with old junk is really quite amazing.
Once we finally went through the effort of getting to the true GZ the cache was quickly in hand.
As i have with many caches like this, I have been unprepared and worn thongs. Saying my feet were dirty after is an understatement.

VERY interesting. Lots of interesting GEOLOGICAL formations there too. Loved the track down, TFTC.
quick easy find, although it was more likely to be a spot for a hobo hotel rather than a cache, smelt like rotting apple, eww. tftc
This cache was a smelly one, the area is covered in rubbish and leaving the area in peak hour traffic isn't easy either...

We initially didn’t see the track down and when no likely hiding spots could be found at the top, checked the GPS again and thought: “Oh, no! How do we get down there?†Then we spotted the track and 3 keen geocachers went down under the structure, while 2 others waited warm and snug in the car. Spotted a very obvious hiding place and quickly scrambled to retrieve the cache. A spectacular driveby with great views. 25 of 27 for the day. Many thanks for bringing us here, Biggles Bear. One of our favourite caches.
9th of 10 finds on my caching b-day daytrip with a shiny new gps unit found at 8pm.
Bit scary getting to GZ this late at night. Took us a little bit to locate GZ, gps had us a few metres away..
Koala TB came for a visit and met happy dwarf tb, happy's decided to travel together with koala for a while.

I was actually headed the wrong direction to do this one but put in the extra km to loop around as soon as I could to come back to it after catching a glimpse of the structure, this was too cool not to visit.
Many thanks, enjoyed the search and the placement.

Did this one after nearly missing the turn in the rain & darkness!
A head-mounted light for this is recommended at night!
Scrambled down to GZ and once down noticed the spot quickly. Hope with some of the drinking/camping muggles around here this one doesn't get spotted.
A great place to put a cache, and a place we would never pull off the road for if we didn't know we could come down here.
Thanks again for bringing us here.

How many time have we all driven past this interesting place, great to have a look around down there TNLN
This one was found after a short search of GZ. Our final cache with our friends the Dragonfreys, although we hope to join them for some caching in Canada someday. TFTC in this most interesting of spots, mostly bypassed and really appreciated. The log is full and unfortunately I didn't have a spare, I apologize.
Found with the whole Razz'l'Dazz'nCo. on the way into the airport for the beginning of our flights back to Canada. We've really enjoyed the caching in Victoria while we have been here and this was another interesting find in place we would have never seen otherwise. Dazz was the determined soul to make the find after many of the rest of both teams had surrendered. Thanks for the fun and good spot to break up the drive with some exercise.
Good fun cache in an area I've never stopped at before. I managed to get down, climbed up, found cache, signed log, replaced cache and then continued up some more.
Back in the car and continued my trip to the airport.
Took coin to move on and TFTC.

I'm not sure it was a joke. It was a genuine long shot guess, which turned out to be right. Obviously I enjoyed this one. TFTC.
What a great location! CruiseWolf jokingly claimed to see the hide from far away - we were surprised to see that he was actually right TFTC.
Found this at 16.25 with 1SR a part of the one always awake team VKC1SR after the “Intervening Days Event “at Melton.
We decided to have a look at this old bridge and very glad that we did as it is very impressive.I would like to know how they got the keystones in the middle of the arch without modern equipment! Took the long way down and grabbed the easy to find cache, put the Red Ant into the log book as our 17th find today and then headed for Geelong after a wonderful day meeting a lot of fellow cachers. Thanks Biggles Bear for the cache to bring us out here.

Found this on the way home from the 'Intervening Days' event at Melton. This was a very impressive bridge, and a great view of it after climbing down. The area was even of interest geologically. Thanks for showing us this, we wouldn't have had a clue it was here without your help. We dropped in JMCz's Geocache America 2007 Geocoin #8, but took nothing. Mt Whitney geocoin paid a visit but didn't stay. TFTC.
Found today with WB-Holden at 4:50pm. Interesting little spot and wondered what car is burried under bridge?
Thanks Biggles Bear.
Thanks Biggles Bear.
Looks like a lot of people pass this way looking at the previous logs.
I was also heading home via Melton so I couldn't pass this one up.
I didn't go the most direct route, I actually walked around on the track and approached the cache up the creek.
Good to see how these monuments stand the test of time.

So many times I have driven past this location and thought to myself: "That looks so interesting. I really must make the effort to go down there and have a decent look at it one day!" Echo got to have some fun at this one while Spice played back-up.
The place really is quite peaceful from the bottom as long as you don't get muggles deciding to try and peep at you from over the railing like we did...

This cache has annoyed me a couple of times on the road trips from Adelaide to Melbourne when it has snuck up on me and I am past it before I knew it. Well that is a trip I don't do these days but took the opportunity to stop and find on a return trip from Ballarat to Melbourne during a work visit from Sydney. Stopped, looked, considered the terrain rating and found an alternative that dropped that rating a bit being in work clothes. Quick find, grabbed the TB. Thanks Biggles Bear.
Found 1.45pm Took Batteries Left Kirsty the Koala TB, the second log book is almost full.
Chivalry definately isnt dead, as my geo boyfriends serial and pwags retrived this cache whilst i stayed in safety and observed. definately not for the non-advanturous. TNLN
Found on the way home from our Brisbane Ranges day out. It certainly deserves its Terrain=3 rating, took a bit of an effort to get to it. TNLNSL, thanks for showing us this lovely old bridge, Biggles Bear!

Had to think a bit logically for this one, and after a little expedition, prize was in hand, though not quite what I was expecting from the description.

Finally I found it!!!
Since the reporter investigated on Tuesday, Vic Roads has had trucks in the area for 2 days. Those that have visited recently will notice an amazing difference! I don't think VR got down to the bridge....all the car bits and the oil drums behind it are still there, but a lot of rubbish has gone. Hope they now look at getting rubbish bins installed, and then they empty them regularly!

What I learnt today!
Don't leave your headlights on when you leave your car!
Had a short search and looked back to car..yikes..lights were on. Went back and turned them off, but too late! Battery was flat! Rang RACV and stayed by car, but I am sure I could have found the cache if I had have looked further! Hope to go back next week with headlights off!
April 18..tried again with no luck. Terrain is too difficult for my knees! I have never seen so much rubbish in one place, even a partially buried car, and the picnic area has no rubbish bins. I'm going to give a thumbs down in the local paper to whoever is responsible for its upkeep! It is a really beautiful area, spoiled by all the junk!

I just love these old bridges - I have such profound admiration for the artisans who were able to create such attractive and long-lived structures from stone. Fortunately, I think these skills have not been totally lost to the community and there's been a revival in interest in bluestone kerbs and buildings - although the heyday of the mason is probably long gone .

My final cache for 2007, found on the way to Melbourne for New Years Eve celebrations. Also my 101st find.
We were reluctant to stop as the temperature had reached its expected 41 degrees, but commonsense prevailed and we stopped anyway...not going to let a little bit of heat stop me caching [xx(].
The cache was found quickly after the scramble down and some swaps made and Travel Bugs dropped off at this magnificent & solid structure from days gone by. Covered in sweat, the flies carried us back to the top and into the waiting air conditioned car to complete our trip.
Took: Sticker
Left: Travel Bugs & Keyring
