Found it is a bit of a strange term in this case. The cache container has been replaced by a suitable water proof container big enough to be a decent Library. As one of the old cache location near to me I thought it would be good to bring it back to life.

As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Found by Bob and Dan at 14:00 almost immediately.

Interesting to read Lachie's log entry - we found the cache full of water and very smelly too (had to drive with the windows down, the smell on my hands was so bad) and this was on Sunday afternoon. There was no log book in the cache and all the contents were totally ruined. For what its worth, we emptied the water out but there was nothing salvageable and we left it there in case someone else came by.

The mystery is - if Lachie took it away on Friday, what did we find on Sunday? The cache we found was a clear plastic rectangular box about 600x300x200mm in size and was only a few metres from the road in a natural hollow under a tree root.

Sorry Quasar - this is the 3rd of your caches we have found that have suffered some damage, but thanks for making the effort, the concept of a library exchange is a good one (we'll have to check out the Montrose subbranch Smile) and the views we got while travelling around here made it more than worthwhile.

The Library has been destroyed - floods this time. The cache was full of water and the books very, very smelly. Sad We removed all the books (to Alexandra tip) and will try and reinstate the library soon.

Update - We were carrying the cache to the car to remove it but decided the smell was way, way too much so left it for later collection (in a ute or with a trailer - the smell was ...).

[Found on 17/08/04 at 1715 AEST. 3rd find for the day with Johan Cruyff whilst on a LONG inspection tour. A beautiful winter's afternoon, cool and clear and a stunning view from near GZ. We took the wrong road on the way to the 2nd location but quickly realised and found the cache easily shortly after getting the 2nd clue.

Some of the books at the bottom of the container are a bit damp] (but they are ABS Stats so nobody will mind) [ Twisted)

IN: The Adventuress of Tom Sawyer
OUT: Essential Zen]

Found with Rhinogeo just before it got dark. Would have been a great place to watch the sunset. Maybe next time...

Found at 18:55 in darkness like the inside of a whale. Its cold, wet, and dark. Two people and only one with a torch ( not me ) stumbling around in pitch black with every tree branch and root out to get us. I am sure the blair witch was watching and making small sounds ( more than likely laughing at the two numnuts in the middle of no-where looking for books they didnt want ). Eventually located the cache with the aid of caughtatwork ( who did have a torch ), and a smart ar*e attitude. Was some water in the box that we emptied out. Most probably dont appreciated the area in the dark.

Left - Novel about dracula ( cant remember the title )
Took - Novel, ICEHENGE

What did I tell Uncle Jiffy to add to his cache bag?
A torch.
Did he listen?
No.
I felt justified in ragging him a little (alright a lot) as he stood in the pitch black forest while I took the everlasting light and searched for the cache location.
I will admit, it was so dark all I could see was what the torch illuminated, almost like the forest was absorbing the light.
I was more than just a little freaked out doing this cache at night, but there was no boogey man. Just a couple of idiots looking for a box with books.
I'll try getting them from a real library next time.
Out: Nothing.
In: Sur-Petition by Edward De Bono.
We placed our books in zip-lock bags, so hopefully they won't get water damaged like some of the books in the cache.
Thanks for a freaky deaky evening.

We managed to find this one with only the second clue as we were travelling from the north and hadn't yet reached the first location. A rough estimate of the distance for the first clue was all we needed and we found the cache quite quickly (just as well as it was getting dark). Unfortunately the lid was off the cache and some of the books were a little damp but still looked serviceable. We didn't have a book to exchange so swapped nothing. Greg and Bev

Found at 6:15pm with Kiwideb and Muzza. We enjoyed the drive gathering all the clues, then where it counts we were all off and racing only to all be pointing and shouting "found it" at the same time. First time for everything I guess, a tree way tie.
Swapped a cereal cook book (out) for a "Domes of fire" story book tape (in). Thanks Quasar, we enjoyed the race to the library.

Kiwideb, Alan-san and myself gathered the clues and proceeded to GZ. As we fought to see who would be the first to find it, I think it was more or less a dead heat. No honours were awarded for this one. It was found at 6:15 pm. There were some great views to be seen, spoiled a little by the rain and clouds.

None-the-less, we all enjoyed the cache and the lovely area in which it is located. I took "The Shark Mutiny" and left "Gone With The Wind". Thanks, Quasar, for a great cache.

Muzza, Alan-san and I tried to see who would be the 1st to find this cache. So we rushed of like kids looking for candy Smile. But it was a 3 way tie. Found the cache at 6:15 swapped a book on "Zen" for "Gone With the Wind". Thanks for the cache Quasar this is such a pretty area. It's a shame about the weather I'm sure the view would spectacular.

As Alexandra is my home town with my family dating back to the mid 1800. I had to check this one out. In search of the cache we found an unsquashed wambat grassing along the side of the road then a little further a squashed one. Took a couple of wrong turns but found the cache at 2.50pm. Swapped charley & the chocolate factory 4 vic country. Thanx Quasar 4 a lovely drive in the county.

Number 5 on a big travelling day for the mad Monkey Island crew. We went about this one back to front and ended up 6.5 Kms away from the cache on the wrong damn side of a mountain range! Quick map check and a couple more Km's and we are back to the first clues. Pretty easy clues to decipher (still, always a risk with my arithmetic) and on to the cache. Stunning views from where we parked, but got stuck in the rain.
Swapped Reach for the Sky for a novel called The Shark Mutiny. Also grabbed TB (George/Piggy). This is a great themed cache and was my fave for the day, thanks Quasar.

Guybrush, Elaine and The Evil Le Chuck.

Close to home so a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon drive.
Great views and good walking in the adjacent National Park.
Took a book on Hang Gliding and left a book called
'Reach for the Sky'
Now for a short black and cake in a nearby town.
Thanks Quasar

Found at 12.35 with Maccamob hot on our tail! We had realised they were with us in Alex. and we stopped for a quick chat at the first way point. The area is looking green but the weir is looking very empty. Lets hope for some more rain. Took Murasaki, left Hang Gliding Flying Skills. Thanks Quasar.

Got up early, and since there was no snow reported on Stirling, decided to search out the closest cache. Had a great time searching for this one, and enjoyed the nearby walk. Didn't have any good reading material handy so perused through the library and left everything in tact.

Found by Mary & David at 1237. Arriving at the nearby town, we thought the vehicle in front looked familiar, complete with its Geocaching sticker. Sure enough, it was Biggles Bear in the lead. Collected the necessary data en route, then worked out the final coords. Biggles bear #1 chatted as we walked towards GZ, while Biggles Bear #2 strode ahead. When we reached the cache, Biggles Bear #2 was already filling in the log, but surprised us all by announcing that someone else had been there even earlier in the day. Wonderful views in all directions. Took Gazeteer, left recipe book. Also took advantage of the larger than usual cache container to drop off TB Piglet George - time for him to relax for a while after his interstate trip. Thanks to Quasar.
