It hasn't been found in years and I haven't been able to replace it, for mental health reasons.
DNF WHile walking past, i gave a little look around the roots, but no luck. Most likely its hone.Area is freely accessible to everyone.
Looked hard but couldnt find it. Theres been a lot of pruning around so maybe it was extra covered! Maybe next time!
It would be such a shame to have an oldie like this archived without first considering all options to keep it active.
Have to in through public to access. Lots of tall and overgrown greenery so after a quick scout knew it wasn't for me.
Visiting from Auckland.
My kids and I went looking and basically got scolded by an elderly couple who told us to get out of that area. Needs to be moved to more accessible spot to avoid issues like this for Geochace'rs.

Not sure where you were looking, GZ is on public land. Perhaps you tried to access it from below, better to approach from the uphill path and across.
Rummaged in the roots for well over 10 mins but to no avail! I guess I'm not as good at these kinds of ferret-y caches
The shortest tree is no longer very short! But easy enough find once we'd found a gap in the passing muggles.
Okay... I might be bad at leaving things be. After saying I DNF and leaving, it was stuck in my head so I barely made it 5m up the track before I was back for one last search. Found it almost immediately to my chagrin! Same as one of the previous posts, there is water getting into the cache due to nibble holes, but maybe the cats will scare away any future vermin! TFTC
Not sure if I wasn't quite in the right spot because my GPS was flying all over the show, or if my eyes are broken today, but I had fun looking!
Yay! Our #300 cache find milestone! Cheers to Rob! Nice fast find on a calm afternoon. Picked up Tracker the Labrador. TFTC
Found while out walking with Jude_E on a calm sunny morning. Not long to find the correct spot with good hints. TFTC

Another oldie goldie. GPS was jumping around but I read the first part of the hint and figured, that, even though you will be able to see the "83" from many angles, the cache is probably in quite a direct line from it. And that was the case indeed.
But who is Rob? No one still knows, but we raise a glass in his name anyway! Go Rob, whoever you are, were or will be!
Kia ora! Paldies!
TFTC, Brett!

I way overcomplicated this one. After a bit of a search, ivss_xx won the day.
Not in the first spot I checked and a little awkward to get to but I was happy to find this older cache. TFTC
As for CatSitters' log I found what I thought was the spot, but a lot of gardening debris on top...
Not sure if this one is blocked but dnf & tried twice. Seems to be a lot of cut branches and grass in the way... Will come back after confirmation
#1846. Finally, found it. After a DNF on 23/11/21, I was leaning towards the theory it had gone. But no, some caching colleagues have found it, and sent me some valuable info, enabling me to make another foray. And despite my GPS readings hovering between 8 and 17m from GZ, there it was. But who is Rob? Still don’t know.
Tftc anyway Brett, and my helpful colleagues.
Day 17 of a possible record streak attempt.

Nice to redeem this one. I swear I searched every where and this was within the area I searched last time but somehow missed it. With a few finds recently and the knowledge that it was definitely there I came back to search again. Nice to get a oldie. By doing today I have completed a cache in Picton in the SI this morning and this one in the NI after getting off the ferry this afternoon. TFTC. Here's to Rob.
I saw this cache on the map, but it was a little way along the road from where I came off the hill, so I wasn't going to go and find it. Then I realised it was from 2003 (although actually not a missing Jasmer month for me, it's always nice to find an old one) plus it wasn't *that* far away, so why not?! I headed up along the path and found it surprisingly quickly due to the good hints - I lined up the first hint and spotted it straight away from there. All in good condition with a few bits of swag. I took the bright red paracord and exchanged it for... an olive green paracord. TFTC!
Well gps is dodgy as hell but a find was achieved through systematically checking trees tftc
I thought if I found this, I might discover who “Rob” is. But despite a good hunt, came up empty handed. Oh well. Looks like CO has “retired”, so it may be gone for good. Might have another go if passing by again. Watch list for now.
Spent a while after work clambering up and down and around this area. The obvious spot wasn't to be, so went further out - closer to and down the bank - lots of broken branches and leaf litter build up all over made this difficult in the coming dusk. A later conversation with a prior finder suggests I was in the right area and it may have been cleared. Might need a check CO.
Had a few minutes to spare so shot in here for the cache. Never been to this park before so TFTC.
Great find! This was our first cache of 2021 and it was a great way to start the year! So much garbage in this beautiful park!!! It would be lovely if everyone would help pick up a few pieces of rubbish to make this area even more amazing!! Thank you so much for this cache!!!!!!!!
VISITING Wellington again for grand chn end of year prize giving etc and went on a small detour to locate a few caches around wadestown area . Not knowing Wgtn at all well parking was a bit of an issue for me .
thank you for this cache I took nothing and left nothing,
thank you for this cache I took nothing and left nothing,
Biggest challenge today was finding a parking spot!! Everything nearby is for residents only. Nice day for a short walk though and nice to tick another off my challenge list. Thanks to CO for keeping this going so long. Leaving Wellington later today. Been a fantastic road trip over the last week
Thanks a missing month for Kiscardi. Managed to find a park up the road as was driving up there to find a challenge cache we qualified for.
Walked down the hill found this then back up to the car.
Last cache on my list I am finding on this north island trip. 135 cache on the must find list and most were found. Very happy.

NZ Bozzy and I have been on a geo caching tour of the North Island. We have achieved many goals including 60 TMGT caches and many spaces on our DT matrix and jasmar grid now filled. Walked and drove many miles. This was the last of a long list of caches we wanted to find while up North
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches
Quick find after we found a park and now to battle Friday afternoon traffic back to my friends place near the airport

A quick locate, but workmen on road below, so discretion required in extraction and replacement. All good in container, thanks Team MET for the new log. Tftc!
TwigNZ suggested a caching roadtrip to Wellington with Mar1sa, which sounded like an excellent day out of the house! - a novel idea considering that I'm still Working from Home...
The downside of this plan is that the first cache was 2+hrs from home which meant a much earlier start than I am otherwise used to.
We had an excellent trip, and Wellington really turned on the sunshine for us - Twig's "solar panel" definitely got some exposure
We're on our way home now, but TwigNZ wants to find two more particular caches that will help fill holes in his Jasmer Grid. As it turns out, this one is also missing for me, so I'm keen as well.
The find was fairly straight forward for Mar1sa, although the log was wet. We replaced the logbook and continued our trip home - the end of a long but satisfying day.
Log was signed as Team MET (or just MET depending on log space) for Mar1sa, EtherLord and TwigNZ.

My day started at at 5.15am with a goal of caching down in wellington with Twignz and Etherlord Clan, the weather was amazing and we ended up with a few finds under our belt finished the day around 9pm and the shower and bed never felt so good as it did that night.
thanks for placing the caches and bringing us to the locations we visited. - sorry about the copy and paste logs

What a fantastic day to be out and about in the Capital (read Target-rich environment lol!) with a couple of great geo-friends. You just can't beat Wellington on a good day, and this certainly was one. Note to self: Time to start wearing caps again!
Part of our discussion on our journey down was centered around what our joint logging name would be for today, with the final choice being Team M.E.T (or sometimes just MET depending on log space) for Mar1sa, Etherlord and TwigNZ.
This cache was found towards the end of our day, on our drive back towards home. I had asked to try to find this one as it would fill a gap in my Jasmer Grid. We were pretty tired by then, by my friends indulged me (thank you) and we were soon enough parked a little way from GZ.
The cache itself was a reasonably quick find, however the log is quite damp although still OK to sign etc before the whole thing was replaced as found and we headed back to the car and the comforts of home.

Last time I was here this area was over grown (and it was wet) so put it off as a i need either a spotter or some good weather.
Back today with Kimmy+Co and there has recently been a clear out, cache still in its home but was drowning in side the container and all logs are VERY wet.

It looks like they’ve cleared out a lot of the leaf litter etc up here so you maybe want to check that it’s still here. I might also just have missed it
I have often thought about hunting for this cache over the years and today was the day to find it with the mainlanders.
Thanks for the cache .

Wellington trip! Caching with Nosynel and Ethness. We found it. Arrived on site and thought uh oh. A scraper has been through but the cache is safe. A bit of clambering over the scrap and we found it. Maybe not at the original tree. Who knows. Thanks for the cache.

The bulldozer has been in her but the geocache is still there.
The geocaching binge with Jude-E started yesterday. We stayed the night with a friend. This was one of them.
Thanks Brett for placing this geocache it is find 8398 for me.

Together with TEMBO! I had a really interesting geocaching-trip today. We could find some geocaches, met some locals and had a great talk to them.
Concerning this geocache I want to say thanks because we had much fun in searching and finding this geocache! The cache made our trip even more interesting!

What a lovely little hidden park. All the planted trees are just bursting their buds now - will be very pretty with blossums in a couple or so.
A bit of grounds maintenance has been carried out in the general GC area. Any closer and it would have exposed the cache!
The plastic bag enclosing the cache has a hole thats been nibbled by snails, so log is a little damp - was still able to sign log.

Searching for clues to the fingerprints left behind at the museum. My second visit here, first time was over a year ago and had no luck at all. Today, the correct location was spotted quickly and although slightly damp the log was still easily signed. TFTC.
I scored some cheap flights to Wellington for the weekend! I had a great time exploring and finding caches!! I am glad I finally managed to stop by here TFTC!!
On a walk trying to clear out the are near(ish) to the hotel, I am shocked now I am back logging my finds the age of this one. Really nice to see a cache lasting this long
I came from the top, using the obvious cacher trail, though to be honest I am not sure it was any easier then coming from the bottom. Log super wet

Another Wellington cache grabbed today. The log is a bit wet but still able to sign. Thanks CO for the cache.
Found after a return visit. The posted coordinates are quite different to where I found it. Thanks to robnzh for his log. I'd recommend approaching from the sitting area and not from the road. No pen but I've posted a pic. This is a nice spot which I'd not seen before TFTC
After a longer search we finally found this cache. Thanks a lot for hiding and maintaining this treasure! Thank you!
Took Mum ages, squabbling in the bushes while I was climbing a tree . BTW log book is wet. Thanks for the chache
It's easy, once you follow the instructions properly and find the right tree. The log was completely waterlogged but I dried it as best as I could. TFTC.
Day 4 of my visit to Wellington to attend the Mega weekend. Thank you to all of the CO's who put the caches out in the area and preforming maintenance on them before we descended on the area. I look forwards to coming back to the area again in the near future.
Today was picking up challenges and getting caches which I need for my JASMER challenge on the way back to the airport.
Took a bit of time once I realised I needed to be up higher then I paused read hint and after bit of a search with hands (as all overgrown) found it.

A few craggly trees and wet scrub to contend with, but a satisfying find in the end.
Think it was pretty heavily buried in the weeds. Either that or we just got the wrong tree!
Ms Jacksonz with friends Epicruins195 and professor_cat found this after exploring the botanical gardens and cable car. Was a really interesting hint that also lead us to the cache easily enough. Cache was wet inside the outer bag, but the inside wasn't and log book was fine.

Nice find . We found it relatively quickly. The clues were helpful and interesting (I always like the “you can see this thing from here” ones)
There was need to leave my nice warm home to get a cache today. Thanks to the hints it was a quick find. All in order. TFTC
Celebrate the ANZAC day with geocaching while explore the town belt. Easy grab just follow the trail from the previous logger. I expect for a real craggy tree but it doesn't look so craggy to me anyhow Happy ANZAC holiday and TFTC

Approached from lower road up the bank. Easy find. Not the smartest way but effective. TFTC
Hunted around in vain amongst the tree roots and the discarded beer bottles. No sign of the cache. Returned to the office and read further through the logs. Will try again another time....
Thanks to Trancer96 for pointing out the obvious error, I have corrected all previous references to the measured coordinates in my past logs.
This cache is something of a mystery. For such an old cache it seems to be quite different from all other caches of a similar era in terms of location, accessibility and size. A 2002 cache I found just the other day required a 2km walk and bush bashing through gorse! But at least it was a regular size. The other mystery is, who is Rob exactly? It seems a bit of a weird tribute not to provide the slightest hint.
I made sure to use the corrected coords provided in recent logs although there is an "obvious" error in the most recent refresh of that. The cache was a quick find - I didn't have any need for the hint.

Found it. I think I am slowly learning... read the previous logs. I'm picking the cache teleported to a much safer location - or - the gps accuracy was more like +/- 8m If a exp. Cacher offers coordinates... I'm not going to ignore them.

I posted these back in 2014 (reposted from even older logs by others) and others then found them to be spot on, so should be OK unless there has been further migration!
This was another cache for our Jasmer challenge! For quite a while we were barking up the wrong tree(s), but we wouldn't give up easily on such a special cache. We read some more of the previous logs and found the help we needed. It was great to find such an old cache. TFTC!
Did not find, sadly, despite a protracted search. Back home, I'm reading previous logs and see that some other coordinates have been posted, so I might try again tomorrow.
Just got in Wellington from Nelson. Stopping overnight before I carry on home. So thought I would grab a couple while I'm here. Easy find. Tftc
My first cache, after i came back to the North Island with the ferry from Picton, as i was still driving through your nice country on my vacation. This cache took me some time and i almost gave up on it, when i finally found it. On my geocaching map is another grinning smiley now and the german visitor has his name in the log.
Thank you for putting this one out here
