Could the owners of this cache PLEASE check it or disable. We are coming to NZ from Aussie soon on limited time and don't want to waste time looking for caches that are not there.
... Or just plain stumped! Without wanting admit defeat, we find ourselves having to agree with Dr Rob. We have had two attempts at finding this one now; it is either superbly well hidden or has been tampered with. Either way, it certainly requires checking.
This appears to have been removed =( Spent ages looking for it, and it's not in the place where some of the photos suggest it should be!
Spent ages looking for this one, but couldn't find it. Checked the photos afterwards, and it seems to have been muggled =(
My GPS was sending me back and forth under the tree cover, but found it anyway. Nice view of Pihanga from the spot. TFTC from Germany.
Found it with Sometimes Lucky Penny. We are on holiday from the United States, finding any geocaches that are near the places we visit.. We stayed the night in Turangi and walked the Tongariro River Loop Track the next morning. Thanks For The Fun.
Had a heap of trouble with the gps here, spent abit of time in the blackberries.
Back to the clue and a wider search area came up with the goods.
Great views .. #98

Great spot. Several years ago watched a flock of whiteheads at very close to gz. Had a good search - not many folk around mid week after school hols. Way-marked bench and ended up at a VERY likely spot but bleeding from the rose thorns finally called off the search. Seems the "close to town caches" have short life spans. One of our gc's was logged out (ie stolen in a very organised way) of an in town cache > 6 mos ago by someone called snowman followed by a very large no who has never logged a cache. Have just gotten home so from here on is the edit: this is not a short lived cache by any stretch and have just had a look at the spoiler pics - my likely spot is unlikely to have been THE spot - will try again sometime...

Great views that's for sure!!!!! Gps's were off a bit (13m) but clue helped us. Tftc
Got all gashed up looking in the wrong place, then realised I'm on an accuracy herring
Early Sunday morning - lots of fisherman in the river, but not many walkers. A straight forward find.
Took a while to find this as our GPS had us looking quite some distance away. Finally found but GPS was showing 16m away when we were at gz. TFTC
Got to the seat OK and enjoyed the view but took awhile to locate the cache. Nice hide. TFTC.
Staying in the area for the long weekend and this one was the first find of the day. Met some friendly locals at GZ and when they moved we moved in for the find. Great hide, T4TC.
Nice sport for a cache. Co-ords were way off for me but common sense found it. Nice hide too. TFTC. TNLN.
Quick find on our way back to Auckland after walking the Tongariro crossing on Saturday.
Had a little bit of search before we found it.

After walking the Tongoriro the day before I really felt the steps walking up to this cache. Views from the top were worth it though. TFTC
good spot. I thought I was going to have to be a mountaineer at first as my GPS lied to me on the way there under the big trees.
couldn't find it weeks ago, not a problem today though - after reading the whole cache description

So many times I've driven past this one since my first attempt many years ago....finally have the opportunity to nab it! It was very easy, how did I miss it last time...
Cheers,

Found it eventually, the GPS was all over the place. The tigress finally showed me the way.
Captain bjtrekker found the cache faster than his crew could call up the spoiler photos on their paperless caching gadget. Great views, even at sunset from under the trees. Thanks saff & tiger for the cache.
That Bkj97 made me climb another hill to start the day. Nice spot - easy find. TFTC Took key TB
Parked and made the short climb on the river track to the cache. Nice views up and down the river from here. On a hot sunny day it was pleasantly chilly in the shade of the trees. We spent a week in Turangi a couple of years ago, and walked down the river to this lookout. TFTC.

Locates at a nice walkway. Unfortunately we had not enough time to follow on. Spoiler are not necessary.

Saw some trout in the river on the way there. Bit of GPS wandering, but No3 found it. TFTC.
quick find with a good clue to find it. Nice sized cache too. Nice quick grunt up hill and cool view.
#948. Found after a hefty Xmas lunch. So although there are two lures left in the box, didn't take any.

TFTC... Photo helped AFTER I checked every stump within 20 metres and got caching wounds from blackberry... all good stuff!
Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 509. Last one for the day - off to the camping ground now. Thanks.
Found quickly near the end of a late night walk along the river bank by the light of a torch and a half moon on a brilliant clear evening. Quite a well-hidden cache, and somewhat more difficult to spot at night than in daylight. Needed the hint, but didn't have the photos. Signed log, TFTC and for bringing me here!
TFTC - Lovely little spot, and beautifully hidden - we remade the nest to acceptable standards - shame the are no flies left!
A real tough find today. GPS not too good in that area and cache well hidden. SL TNLN TFTC
Took 2 visits to find as I didn't read cache details enough, found easily 2nd time. The cache overlooks one of the best pools on the river TFTC #802
Came for a wander up here to catch some views over sunny Turangi - Was not disappointed and enjoyed seeing so many anglers out in the river. FYI - There are around 3 "flies" left and they are all in a state of disrepair (rusty and hagged) so you may wish to restock? T4TC

Great location and good idea with the lures although they're a little damp.
A dry day to find and the cache is suitably protected so lure box and book just need an "airing"

Very cold & wet day. So sorry, in my haste to return to the car I didn't realise I'd taken the pen! Took out nail polish & left a pet rock - a pig. Log book is full
Took a swat up of the clue as gps variable. 18 successful out of 20 in lower Tongariro area.
Left my accommodation and walked along the river to 3 other caches then doubled back on myself and further along to bag this one. There's a lot of stumps to choose from! But in true caching style there's one that just looks like a caching stump.
Totally recommend coffee from the lady in the lay-by afterwards - if you get her talking, like i did, be careful not to walk away with your coffee having not paid, like i did!
Logged Leepinlzrd GeoCoin in n out to assist in its mission.

Took a little wandering before we found the right starting point, and then it was easy. Nice view. TFTC.
Had no trouble finding this one. Found while walking the river track. Nice view from the seat. TNLN SL TFTC.

Our first for the day - uphill all the way. Mrs Buzz was struggling a bit but finally made it only to be confronted with a muggle travelling at a huge rate of knots, she was going downhill at the time.
A bit of a momentous cache for me - and a good one too. Certainly better than some previous such. A nice spot, an older cache, a good size, not too hard to find (despite the tree cover) and find number 5,000 for me! Thanks saff & tiger.
This is a great place to put a cache, great views and a great hide, Took Sparkee Krew 5 TB and a fly, will look at using it next time I go fishing, TFTC LNSL (622)
6.35pm. Quick puff up the hill. Easy find. Good views. The log book still needs replacing. Left a T.B.
Thank you. David and Noeline.

With seeker jordge. A little tricky finding the start thanks to our own ineptitude! Then a pleasant climb to the cache which I found luckily and easily! What a great view from up here. The cicadas are really out in force and are very loud, a nice disturbance of the peace. There are lots of shells of cicadas around for the kids to learn about.
Took car, pencil, blue stone
Left snake, shell, sellotape.

We were expecting to see Mt. Tongariro from up here. It took us a while to figure out that the cache is named after the river and not the mountain. Even without Mt. Tongariro we still enjoyed the views up here. TFTC.

Couldn't sleep very well last night, so got up in the wee hours and headed for the Kaimanawa caches. An easy find, although I think the direction from the seat is more in an easterly direction.
Did this one at 7:45am while I was waiting for the supermarket to open. Pity to have just missed the Geckoh's this morning, although I must admit it was kind of nice to actually get there before them for a change

Stayed at a campsite nearby last night, so started our caching day with this one. Spotted one fisherman wading in the river below. This cloudy weather should make for good fishing. SL. TFTC.

Off caching with the girls, Wow what a place, what a view!! Loved it, the adventure that this brought us all. Thanks for taking us all on this little journey, one thing I like about geocaching, it definitely takes you to places that you would of not even think of, so thanks. Fantastic views, hmmm anyone for a kayak!! TFTC! Great find BookwormMum.
Nice walk! Lovely resting spot at the top with great views. Watched guys jumping in to fast water below! BookwormMum made the find. Thanks for bringing us here. One of the highlights of our caching trip round Lake Taupo. Us Auckland girls enjoy getting out of the city and caching in the open spaces!
This was a lovely short walk up to the cache with a nice place to rest and enjoy the views once you arrive at the gz. I love being around all these trees! BookwormMum made the initial find on this one for me, Indiana Jill and Kayaknkiwi. TFTC!
