After 17.099+ miles I think my travel bug "Shark Attack" is really up the creek. Would the next cacher please get it back on the road. Thanks Mobdic
Second cache for the day. After successfully finding Mrs Webby's Blind as a Bat cache quite easily I dropped the family home and then made my way to highland rd faulconbridge to attempt this cache solo. After a pleasant descent down to the creek I roughed it through the dense scrub and ferns criss crossing the creek numerous times. I eventually found a seldom used trail with some cloths tied to tree branches. YES I thought the track you lead me to the cache. But NO, had to recross the creek. On arrival to GZ around 2.30pm the GPS wouldn't settle down. I wandered around for 20 min or so then decided to leave as it was getting quite dark and cold down in the valley. On the way out I found the saw mill, complete with cut sandstone walls and some kind of boiler. Marked it as a waypoint and continued my journey onwards and upwards. That mountain side is steep!! Any way had fun and will try again earlier in the day in the next week or so.

Nice walk in from St Georges Cresc and a fairly easy find (after finding the indicators from the spoiler picture..) A nice bit of history too!

Well what can I say about this one, the walk in was pleasant until I arrived at the creek when I realised I must of missed the alternative track that would have kept me within closer reach of my goal. Instead I had to work my way down a very steep hill in typical ruffasgutts4x4 fashion and then bust my way through a heavily overgrown track that meandered away from and then back towards the creek, but keeping a steady distance within the creek, eventually I found the track I should have been on and followed it the rest of the way, to spite no-one having been down here to log the cache this track has been used lately if only a handful of times as the pressed down leaves on the track indicated to me. At one point I found myself in an open cave adjacent to the creek that spelled the end of my journey on this side (at least for now anyway)it was at this point that I stopped to gather my bearings and try to rediscover the track I should have been on, looking down I first noticed a brick then I noticed the unusual historic thing next to it. I took a couple of photo's for hopefully identifying what the hell it was, all the previous logs suggest it was possibly something left from the sawmill but I would at best be guessing. Strange to see something of this nature in such heavy foliage.
Anyway I crossed the creek at this point and continued over rocks and fallen trees on the otherside, eventually I had to cross the creek again and it was only after a lengthy search that I found what I came for. Having not researched this cache before I came in and having only my trusty pocket pc on me I had only the logs and description to rely on so pictures were not here to help me. But after a few previous searches for Riblit's caches I thought to myself now where would he hide this cache? and there it was fresh as the day it was planted. Top spot to I might add! I took my time and read through the log book and checked over the swapables. No swaps today though. On the way out about half way up the steepest section of the track I spyed a hermits humpy on the left hand side complete with mattress, deck chair, cooking appliances and freshly used fire place. I didn't see anyone there but it felt a little creepy after that like I may have been watched so I made my way out quietly without disturbing anything I had seen.
As usual Riblit you have provided a fine cache for others entertainment hope there's more like this one! Thanks for bringing me here!!

This was my second attempt at finding this one. I thought it was difficult because it wasn't on any track and even though is was supposedly 300-400m from the main track there was quite a bit of difficult terrain to navigate. Having said all that I feel triumphant and I want to go back to find that historical landmark. TNLN

I walked down the track from St Georges Crescent to get to this one. Lots of very colourful mushrooms by the water!
The GPS wouldn't give a reading so I walked up one side of the creek and then back down the other til I found it.
Left a thermometer/compass keyring and took a riot policeman.
Walked up to the old sawmill site afterwards. It's worth a visit while you're there. The remains of the boiler can be seen. The steam from the boiler powered the sawmill to cut the trees into lengths. The timber was loaded on to carts (on rails) which were pulled by horses up the incline that leads to Highland Avenue. You can see some of the old rails and cart wheels in the bush near the boiler.
To get to the sawmill site from the geocache, cross the creek below you and turn upstream (left). Theres a vague track following the creek. Within 5 minutes you will see a small side creek on your right. Follow this for about 50 metres and you will see the boiler. Approx co-ords are 270200, 6269700.
Upstream from the boiler, I saw some holes in the creek bank that looked like platypus holes, although I have never seen any in the area. Has anyone else?
Thanks Riblet for an enjoyable cache...

This one has been on my list for some time and there has not been any fires in this area so ventured on down to see if it was OK. A good track all the way down to the creek then a bush-bash to get to the GZ. You really need to follow the pointer on your GPSr and take note of the clues in the foto and you will get it. Co-ords are pretty close even with the flaky reception at times. A nice quiet spot to rest before taking the challenge to get back. Thanks Riblit, a great adventure indeed. TNLNSL
This area falls within that closed due to the recent outbreak of black trees. I'll evaluate it as the trees change colour.
My daughter and I got to the creek and started to head downs tream but it was wet and there was no track to speak of. We decided to turn back. According to my GPS wa were about 300m from it. We did enjoy ourselves and managed to collect only one leech!
that what i call a scrub bash.thought i do before going out for dinner .opps just a tad late for dinner. great spot
This was not an easy find. It was a hot day and we took the track mentioned in the description only to end up at the creek with no GPS reception and huge leaches attaching themselves to me. Ugh!!!.Climbed back up to the ridge to get a lock on the satellites and to check the topo to discover that we had taken the wrong track and that it would be easier to walk along the ridge. This ended up in a bit of bush bashing to GZ and being attacked by giant biting ants. Finding the cache made it all worthwhile as neither of us had ever walked in this area and didn't know about this track or the very pleasant Linden Creek. TNLN Signed the log.
Thanks for the adventure.
Thanks for the adventure.
I made a late start to this cache as I headed over the mountains. It was 7.00pm as I headed down the trail in search of this cache. I'd been down in this area when I was a kid so I knew of the heritage lied beneath. There was no time for nearby caches so I headed straight to GZ. Found it easily, TNLN and then made it back to the car just on night fall.
Thanks Riblit for returning me to this childhood playground.

Our 2nd attempted cache for the day. GPS was having problems finding satellites....I was having problems finding an easy path to where I guessed it ot be...but Tanya was having no problems finding the leeches (the blood suckers were out in force after the recent rains..hehe). Called it quits and decided to come back another time better prepared. We shall return....
4:10pm - After doing Frustrating Riblit, we bashed our way to this one through all the lawyer vines and old steel cables. The rocks are very slippery crossing the creek, nobody got wet, but it was careful going.
A storm has wreaked some serious damage around here recently, some huge old gums have come down and lots of other trees blown over as well.
Cache was right where we expected it to be.
Did some swaps, signed the logbook and then bashed our way straight back up the hill to re-join the track.
Loved this one, so close to the other. A great afternoon out and about.

Went down the long way and returned by a much shorter path...not much of a track along any parts of the creeks. Took the magnifying glass and left an item in its place. Co-ords pretty close to the money! Thanks Riblit.
Yes I picked April Fool's Day to go after one of Riblit's exellent caches. It was quite warm up in the Mountains today, I was glad I had the CamelPak on. Going down into the valley was fun, and of course I picked the hard way to the cache, Glad I did thou as I found a few more things of great interest to the Master of the History Cache. But I was unable to locate for him the object of his great desire... I hope MRS Riblit isn't reading this....
Coming out of the valley i naturally found the easy route that Riblit mentions on the cache page. I callapsed in some good shade and had lunch and recovered for the remaining assult back to the car. Took the little pill(?) container left a cat collar
A great adventure yet agian Riblit.

It’s that time of the year again and another year older and only one more year until I can compete in the super vet class, yahoo.
Could use a few more caches like this for a warm up for the canyon season. That’s if we don’t get locked out again this year.
The cache thing almost forgot, I knew I was wandering around the bush for something but all the creeks start to merge and look the same. Found the cache then found the creek must have did something wrong but us oldies don’t like getting our feet wet. So wandered back to the car where my lovely assistant had a nice cup of coco waiting.
