Found during a road trip around Central NSW. A short stop for this old school cache. Took a direct approach from the parking area. Lots of potential hidey holes around GZ. I must have searched around the majority of the boulders around the area before finally finding the cache. TFTC
Nice walk looking at all the different rock shapes and coloursFound cache after a bit of a search as per the hint.Notebook log is just about full as One handle on container broke but still seals okayLots of birdlifeTFTC. Its been here a fair while.
Came here before our incredible journey into dalpura canyon. What an incredible experience, if ur in the area, I cant recommend highly enough! Dont think Ive ever come across a cache over 20yrs old with the original logbook! Wow! Released a trackable into the wild in this special cache. Was a little concerned about waking under the overhang seeing the amount of rock fall around so did it nice n quick
GAP YEAR BIG LAP- PART 2: THE ROAD TRIP - Day 17 Stopped here at turn off to Pearces Pass before going further along to do the walk to Walls Lookout which was amazing. We headed off on a bit of a goat track toward gz & found the eroding cliffs with some recent falls evident. About 13m off gz further down from cliffs found the big plastic container under a ledge guarded by rocks & sticks. Some nice banksias in flower nearby. Great cliff views above as signed the log in a bare spot.#3813 @ 1645h Giving a favourite point for great location hidden away & lasting such a long time.TFTC Geoacaching NSW & The 2 Dogs
Another old cache that was great to find on our trip to the Blue Mountains. Thanks for looking after this cache for our enjoyment.
This was my second old-school cache for the morning. It was a bit overcast and cold, though quite pleasant for a little walk and a search for a cache. It seems this area is very popular because there wasn't any space to park in the main parking area. Thus, I had to return up the road a bit before finding a suitable spot to pull over.
Again, it was a very enjoyable stroll towards my target. Initially, I tried from the trail, but soon realised that this was not heading where I needed to be. I backtracked a bit and then followed the cliff line which led me directly to my target.
There were a few options where the cache might be, but the co-ords were spot-on and I espied the hide without much trouble. This is definitely another area I would like to explore a bit more in future. Today I didn't have time, though, because I was heading off to an event up on the Newnes Plateau.
With the log signed and everything put back as found, it was time to head out again. There was lots of wattle in bloom already. I couldn't resist taking a photo or two. As to the tracks left by various creatures along the base of the cliffs ... I need to brush up on my interpretive skills. Perhaps there had been some wallabies along that way?
Thanks for another awesome cache.

WOW! Greta spot! And can’t believe this cache is nearly 20 years old!!! Hint is super accurate. Thanks so much!
Cache was happy in its home. Sun was shining, wind was blowy and the overhang was weather beaten. TYFTC
Been to this carpark a lot, never remembering to download the coordinates for this hide, as there’s just not quite enough reception well with my phone anyways!!!
Glad I took the time with this one as I think it was well worth the short adventure from the car park thanks for the hint and the find!

Didnt properly look at the contours or read the hint and ended up on top of it, hiking up the rock. Worth it for the views anyways. My GPS was about 15m off so glad the hint is there. TFTC.
Can access the dirt road to carpark but there is sign and path blocked for rest of the year
Just couldn’t find!! But I had never even known that gorgeous worn cliff was there so not a wasted trip
Out for a few caches which have gone down since we were here last. Took nothing left nothing, Cache all good, good coordinates. 4th for the day. TFTC
We had poor GPS signal so used the hint, however it was still a good challenge with so many excellent hiding places in the area! Beautiful spot, TFTC.

After a relaxing walk and picnic at Mount Wilson it was time to head back to Sydney. However, not without finding another cache.
Once on the Bell Line of Road we pulled over to drive to this cache. A dusty unsealed road but manageable for my 2WD and once at the parking I was surprised to see so many parked cars.
Then it was an easy level walk to GZ and after a bit of searching under the cliff overhang, the hint put me in the right direction.

Parked the car and then walked along the path to GZ. Once at GZ the cache was found after a short search. The log was signed and then the cache was replaced as found. Thank you The 2 Dogs for placing this cache in such a beautiful area.
Out caching with oldmorty and marj01. An early morning start is always on the cards when out with marj01 and today was no exception. After driving from the Eastern Suburbs to Lithgow, we made a U turn and headed back via the Bells Line of Road caching as we went.
After a bumpy drive down a sandy track to the picnic area, we left the car and walked off into the bush and made our way to GZ. Had to move some heavy rocks to grab the very substantial cache. Great spot for a cache. TFTC The 2 Dogs

Out caching with some fellow caches, being Frazeydaze, Oldmorty Haven't been hear for some time, a canyon before kids. Thanks for the cache
Out from the eastern suburbs for a days caching with frazeydaze and marj01, and the chosen area was out west and in the mountains. Four of the caches in the mountains that were more than park and grabs, Shipwrecked, The Castle, Weather Beaten and Shrouded in Mist provided spectacular views over the mountains. No weather beating today as it was sunny and spectacular. TFTC The 2 Dogs.
Found on the beginning of a walk through the Grose Valley. Interesting to see possibly the most easterly Pagodas in the area. TFTC!!!
Fun find! I love having to search a bit off trail . Such an absolutely gorgeous area! Thanks!
#676 found with alnic39 while travelling along the Bells Line of Road got close to GZ then the cliffs around played havoc with the GPSr but Al came up with the find. Thanks for the cache The 2 Dogs
I came last week without the coords in the gps, and the phone couldn't cope. This time. phlphotos and I tackled it together.
Having just had an amazing weekend 4WDing with Mr Hancock, I couldn't have let my last find be a micro in an Armco barrier. Thankfully he indulged me by returning to this spot for a bush find.

The plan was to start early to go through Yilleen Canyon before the storms hit the area. It was a nice sunny day, and there was plenty of water flowing to keep the group cool, and the views of the waterfall spectacular.
On the down-side I was trying out a new descender which didn't seem to like wet ropes and caused problems on the way. Finishing the canyon by 12:30, we had lunch before making our way out via the track and onto Pierces Pass.
On the long slog back up hill, I turned on my GPS and spotted this cache which I didn't attempt after my last time in the area doing the Mirror-ball abseil.
A quickish detour across the creek, my geocaching senses led me straight to the hiding spot. After signing the log, and taking the TB, it was back up to the carpark for some dry clothes, then a recovery coffee at Pie in the Sky.
Then it started to rain... and lightning, and thunder, and even hail! I had an hour drive home on roads which were submerged under a foot of water in a lot of places! I think I got the worst of the bad weather compared to what was mentioned in the description!
Thanks for the cache.

Me and Alvie found this one and she is only 1 year old. Nice spot. Better the aproach along the cliff then walk a bit lower and look up from the bottom
It might be just us bit we didn't enjoy this one at all. Geocaching is meant to preserve the environment not encourage bush bashing and trampling of the vegetation which this one does. Very frustrating. It was in a good spot when we eventually found it and the cache was good also. Dropped a TB. TFTC
Decided to have a look at what was in the area driving back from a day in Lithgow. Only hubby went out as miss 3 was tired after a big day, hopefully we'll all get back out to it again to check it out
On our way back from Wombeyan Caves (the long way) we stopped off at Pierces Pass for a break from the traffic and walked up to Rigby's Hill which was one of the best lookouts I've seen in the Blue Mtns. Checked to see if there were any caches hereabouts and there was this one back near the start. We headed across country along the base of the cliff to GZ and searched for what seemed an eternity following the hint and reading all the logs of the "easy finds" (!!!) until I finally got a good 10m out from the cliff and made the find. Was sticking to within 3m or so. Anyway I signed the log and replaced. Good to get an oldie and a rare NP cache.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Found 4:57 PM with Zo Zo during our weekend stay in the greater Bathurst region. I still needed to find a log a cache that had been hidden in November 2003 to fill a space in my grid for the Jasmer Challenge. I have been planning on making it out to Fort Denison in the Harbour to pick up the Barney's Rubble Virtual Cache but am still yet to make it out there. On the return from Bathurst, we decided to take the Bells Line of Road route and the plan was to attempt both Weather Beaten and Shrouded in Mist Traditional Caches by The 2 Dogs before it became too dark. Earlier in the day at Hill End, attempting the Bridle Lookout Traditional Cache down the Bridle Track, I ran over a rock which made a loud bang on the under carriage of my vehicle and ended up creating a big ding in the exhaust and pressed it up against the tail shaft underneath the car creating a loud knocking sound when we were in motion. Fortunately we made it safely back to Bathurst (with the music up loud to muffle out the knocking) where we found a garage that was still open. The mechanic was able to heat up the exhaust pipe and knocked it back into place, but the damage is still there meaning both parts will need to be replaced when I get back home to Sydney (yay, not). The drive home was okay with no more knocking sound but the vibrations were worse after the repair work (occurring only between 80 to 90 km/h and then 100-110 km/h). Anyway, we first stopped off at the Pierces Pass Picnic Area, passing a guy with a remote controlled car that he was playing with along the fire trail and parked at the end of the road to tackle Weather Beaten. The GPS initially pointed us down the steps towards the finish point of Yileen Canyon (the canyon I did a few years back and lived to tell the [interesting survival] tale). Realising the published co-ordinates were in fact back up the top and near the cliffs, we trekked back up the stairs and headed into the bush scrub towards where we needed to be. Once at Ground Zero it was a quick find and we performed the signing duties before returning the cache to its hiding location. Signed Log, Took Nothing Left Nothing. Next it was onto Shrouded by Mist further down the Bells Line of Road. We found the entrance to the Mount Barker Picnic Area and lookout and turned off to drive down the fire trail towards the published co-ordinates. We were able to park close by and again entered the bush scrub to hop over the rocks and find the natural shroud that was protecting the cache from the elements. Thanks For The two Caches The 2 Dogs and for keeping both of them active for as long as you have! A favourite point awarded to Shrouded in Mist for the location and bringing us here!
Great area I didnt know was here. Quickly found and cache is in good condition. Fav point.Tftc
That's an oldie. Quick find. Beautiful spot. Favourite. Saw prints of dog / Dingo, goanna, birds and small mammals. Loved it. Tftc tnln
This was a lovely walk through the bush, i really like the sandstone cave, it helps me imagine where the aborigines may have hung out to get away from the rain in the dreamtime. I'll be back to do the walks that leave from here but today was only in the mood for lunch then more caching. tftc the 2 dogs
Second find for the day, after dragging the Geohubby out for an adventure. He wasn't really in a geocaching mood so I played the damsel in distress card and asked for his help on this one, he led the way and was the one to make the find Took the TB
We arrived in this spot and realised it would be quite a challenge to go there. First with a not so familiar car into a even less familiar path, to end on a spot somewhere down deep in the forest (at least that is how we experienced it). And then we read the GPS...even 100 mtrs more into the bushes...no clear path...and that made the challenge too big for the male half of the team. The female half couldnt resist this challenge and armed with the gps and lots of enthousiasm, she went into the forest, leaving the male part 'guarding'the car. While he dared to go up onto a rock he tried to stay in touch with her and every now and then he heared her yelling back. At a certain moment 'I found it!' Wow..incredible...but now she had to find the way back. When she returned safely at the basecamp, someone was glowing with pride while the other was also proud the car was still safe. Thanks for this adventure, we wont forget this one, that's for sure. TB in

We have enjoyed many a 2 Dogs cache over time and was keen to grab the two nearish ones given one day they may disappear given the CO is not active. We managed to get the car close and realised this was only a short walk across and not down the closed bush fire effect track to the valley below. A nice bit of exposed standstone at GZ and despite the GPSr not having a good signal we knew from other 2 Dogs hides what to look for and soon found the hid which survied the bush fires which burnt up to the edge. We completed the signing duties and re hid. Must come back when the rest of the track re opens. TFTC TN LN

Having the offer of a lift south (west) meant I was able to get a few caches I normally wouldn't be able to get to. While Cookie had a 3 m hand line it was not needed here. Not sure if I would be that keen to do a 170 m abseil without a bit more practise first.
All good with the cache. And the toilets there were appreciated!

0150 GAFF2 Wow, I'm slowly getting a 'collection' of "The 2 Dogs" caches. And they were some fo the first ones I found back in 2007. So while on extended holidays I'm able to be a little selective and go for those caches I've wanted to for a long time. Didn't disappoint. Having been to Pierces Pass MANY times (about 30 years ago) I knew / thought it would be best to leave the car at the top, but as it was the gate was obviously closed for the night anyway.
Many times I have walked on down with 4 x 50 m of abseil rope, as an abseil instructor we would take some of those who wanted to get their qualifications to come along for a long abseil (~170 m) and this area has the best. And the track down hasn't changed too much. A short search above, and then getting on down to right level, and the cache was found. Good coordinates, and left a Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen.
Another for the Night Caching elective book mark.
Brought through for mileage: Calvin The California Raisin, "Mineral Mountain (CO)" Green Jeep Travel Bug, 12-12-12 Event, 3 Bros, Aust Light Houses, BEAGLE BIXBY, B 2 B ingot, BROWN BEAR 15, Coin of Danmark, DyerMkr's Copper Triple Dragon Geocoin, Fishing Bell TB, GeoCookie Geocoin, Iconic Bridges, land rover TB, Lil' Miss TB, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, NZ Mega 2013 GCookie Coin, PAP, Raban, Rienan TB, Spooky, steben6's DNF Duo - Super Cacher Geocoin, Trakabulldog geocoins, VIRGINia TAG, and trackable shirts.

Having driven by this one more times than I can remember, I thought it was about time I stopped in to find it. Standing at GZ, the wind was absolutely howling through here...and you can certainly see how this area has been shaped because of it. A great little spot.

Totally pooped after doing the nearby 'Cliff Hanger' Cache + another, Mrs ASO was left in the car to do whatever Mrs ASO did (Snoozed for A bit I think) ...........HerbieTheOrange,Myself and The Bro Inlaw (Whom was a muggle prior todays adventures) ventured over under and around the cache for an eventual find by HerbieTheOrange.
Lovely spot and the cliffs/cave lit up spectacularly as the sun was near setting! Thanks for another ripper The 2 Dogs!

After a fantastic Birthday breakfast geo wife asked what id like to do to fill in the morning. The fact that i'm writing this log answers the previous question .
This cache has been on my to do list for a while now and I'm glad I finally got here because the location definately didn't disappoint. I parked the car around 200mts from the cache and made the short walk following the cliff line and taking in some glorious views. Rounding the corner the cliff line opened into a huge overhung cave and I was pleasantly greeted by two large black cockatoos in the nearby trees. The cache itself was easily located and logbook was signed and returned safe and sound ready for the next lucky cacher.
Thanks The 2 Dogs.
Favourite for me

TFTC and thank you for the great location. Caches like this make it a worthwhile activity. We loved the rock formation. TNLN
Garks had the last day off school, so I took him out to the Bells Line of Road to pick up a few caches. We turned off the highway for this one and the road seemed fine, so I took the Pulsar down it. When we got as close as the car GPS said we could get I pulled over and then gingerly turned the car about. But there wasn't enough room to park to allow other cars to pass. I checked my Garmin, and then I realised that the road curved around, closer to the cache. I drove back to the highway, turned around, and headed back down the track again.
This time we got closer. I turned the car near the toilet, since I wasn't sure how much turning space I'd have farther on. We parked the car and began to walk, only to discover that there is a nice big turning circle at the end of the road, with a trail leading off towards the cache.
Garks and I picked out way across the rock, down a slope and then through the bush. I spotted the cache immediately. In fact, I had it out and was beginning to sign it before Garks reached me. I took a picture of Garks with the rock feature behind him before we left. Thanks for taking us there. The car survived, so all was good.

This was probably the cache of the day. I'd headed out to Lithgow for the day & was turning for home via Bells Line of Road, stopping for the occasional cache. This one popped up on the screen, I thought I knew the entrance track (& I did!), so I went for it.
The paddock basher managed to survive the track in, and I then had a fun walk out to GZ. The cache took me a bit of time to find, but eventually I discovered it.

I would have forgotten to log this find had I not visited some caches on the other side of the Grose Valley a few days ago (19 May), looked at the GPSr and thought 'I'm sure I've done that cache over there'. And lo and behold my photos show I had.
I recall that this was a an almost drive by - even in a 2WD, but I wouldn't try it on a wet day. The walk was easy and I spent a few minutes admiring the weathered wall of rock. Then spent quite a few minutes searching various nooks and crannies, but soon found it the little blighter. Another great cache in a great location. Thanks Two Dogs.

First finder for 2012- Another great location. As a geography teacher, these rock formations fascinate me and once on the correct track, this was a relatively quick find. Again, the rocks, especially after a toorential downpouyr were extremely slippery, but at least I didn't have the same issue as at 'Shrouded with Mist'prior to this. Thanks The 2 Dogs- another great cache- my second favourite of the day and both of them yours!
Picked up after a lovely day walking from Pierces Pass down to the Blue Gum Forest and back. Probably should have grabbed it before we started our walk as when we got back to the car park it was an effort to then go and look for the cache. Lovely rock formations. Thanks for bringing us here 2 dogs.
Defenitely worth the little detour this one. I am a big rock fanatic!

Whether we'll be beaten or not, remains to be seen:
Today we are departing for the 14 km hike down from Pierces Pass, through the Blue Gum forest, and back up Govetts Leap. Apparently there is 1200m of ascent on this trip, although the topo map suggests about 600m up from BG to GL. Wish us luck, and if we never cache again, then send in the TB rescue squad!

I had long looked forward to visiting this legendary geocache, located near the Pierce's Pass trailhead, not very far off Bell's Line of Road.
However, I'd pictured tough and icy Blue Mountains winter conditions, with high winds, temperatures below zero, freezing fingers and toes, etc.
Instead, the day of my find was sunny and quiet, not a breath of a breeze, and temperatures were in the low 30s! One car was in the picnic car park when I arrived, but it was just leaving, so I had a quiet walk in the brilliant sunshine for about 150 metres or so along the base of the tall and beautiful cliff to GZ.
This towering and sometimes overhanging yellow-orange rock formation was amazing. I took some photos of it against the brilliant blue sky.
Finding the cache proved to be easy. My GPSr seemed to cope OK a bit away from the cliff, and the clue did the rest.
Cache container was in good condition -- not at all weather-beaten -- and the contents were nice and dry. I noted the 'Wolf Back Again' GC from Geocaching Germany but didn't take it with me. TNLNSL.
Always great to pick up another 2 Dogs cache. I've lost track of how many I've found now -- a lot! And this one was a classic. Thanks once again to those canines for setting us so many great goals in so many incredible places.

Not too long after F@nJOnCO and I emerged to the carpark from Mirror Ball we pushed on the extra 100m for this find. WalW and blue_mars joined us a few minutes later and Walw made the discovery.
Had a day of 4wding and noticed we were near the cache. After walking around with some friends for a while we found it. Came across what looked to be a tiger snake on the way back to the car. It didn't want to hang around for many photos. Left TB took TB. TFTC.
Found with WalW, Gribbly, F@tnJonCo on our assault on Mirror Ball. Another nice hide stashed in the ubiquitous sandstone. SL TN Left TB ' The Wolf' TFTC
A quick and very easy find after our visit to the nearby Mirror Ball cache. Headed out from the carpark with Blue Mars, Gribbly, F@nJonCo. Grabbed the Elephant TB.
