A few finds somewhere far from my usual haunts. Keeping my score a bit high while one has the opportunity to do so . This geocache was simply visible on my geocaching maps. After logging two nearby hides, the breezy evening brings me over here. Lots of muggles yet GZ is quite secluded. Oh, its a 2003 geocache, thats placed 21 years ago. Another month ticked off my Jasmer calendar. TFTC The Reigate Squires for my 2408 find.

After arriving at GZ via what I later realised was an inefficient route around Milson Park and the canal, I soon spotted the seat in question and looked around the structure that most interested me. Indeed, soon enough I spotted a common cache hiding location, checked for any spiders, and extracted the cache which was covered by dust. However, the cache was still in good condition. Good hiding spot, TFTC!

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.Second day, we take our car to visit north of Sydney. Our circuit is planned based on caches selected for their D/T, their installation date, or the PFs received. We will discover fauna and flora different from ours. We will be surprised to come across dragons. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots

Spending the day in Sydney on my way to Melbourne from the Gold Coast. Getting me Ausmer numbers up. Im loving the little Harbour inlets. I AM GURTHE SKITZ CACHER

17-Nov-23
i was exploring the north side of the harbour for the first time and using geocaching as my guide.that and the smell of restaurants in the area. i opened the map and almost fell over the pavement when i saw this cache from november 2003 active and ready to be found.it absolutely defined my movements next. it's a rare thing to still have a cache alive for twenty years. in fact, this is only the third time i've ever found a cache hidden in november 2003. at first i was on the wrong level. like most people probably. soon realised the error of my ways and not long later the ancient cache was being signed. so cool.thank you so much for keeping this alive for us all to keep finding.

I first started looking fora nano on a seat and then reexamined my device and realised there was an upper level, A more obvious hide presented itself along with some slightly out of place camo.TFTC

Day 2: Lane Cove and North Sydney

Today’s plan was to strike north of the Harbour for two main reasons: to get the Lane Cove Virtual and to find a Letterbox cache in Sydney. The weather was lovely today, and despite walking almost 25k steps, it really didn’t feel like it, and I return to the city a really happy cacher

(End of the cut and paste section)

A pleasant spot indeed, though I spent quite a bit of time poking about on the wrong level, but once I recalibrated, the hide was easily found in a very logical spot. Love the history behind the many parks in the neighbourhood. TFTC!

28-Aug-23
Once on the right level it was a quick and easy find

27-Aug-23
Great location in our neighbourhood! We’re new to the game but found it relatively easy. Ta!

12-Aug-23
What a lovely little reserve! So quiet - not a single person came past GZ on the stairs, even though I stayed here for over an hour. It was just me and the resident bush turkey, with the sounds of locals (kids and adults alike) making use of the reserve at the bottom of the hill.

The cache wasn't too hard to find. As other have said, the log was drenched. I wasn't in a rush to be anywhere, and paper actually dries out quite quickly if given half a chance, so I carefully pulled each piece of paper apart and laid them out on the seat to dry, moving them along as the sun did. I removed the NSW Transport Officer card & the card advertising a geo event from 2019 from the cache - thicker paper takes more time to dry and they weren't useful as logs anyway.

Most of the papers dried out nicely, even if they look worse for wear. I signed the rolled up log in the tube - it has lots of empty space, and the other logs date between 2016 and 2022 - I'd rather not jumble newer dates in between those! But future visitors may need tweezers to remove the log from the tube.

The seal on the cache container is completely dried out and non-functional, which explains how the problem happened. If I can drop by again sometime I'll try to bring a plastic bag or new container.

TFTC!

#1725

This was the only find for the day. I had an appointment in North Sydney and decided afterwards to look for a cache nearby. This was one I had also been keen to find due to the month and year it was placed. Deciding on the gentle walk from North Sydney station, I found myself at GZ relatively easily after a 15 minute walk. I had read the clue and found a location that matched but for some reason the GPS would not settle. I searched in so many places but nothing showed up. I did stop now and then to admire the view and wished that a lovely place like this existed near where I live. Deciding to look at some past photos, something stood out and I realised several more of what I was sitting on were positioned at higher levels. After moving, suddenly the GPS made more sense and I soon had the CIH. Unfortunately, the logs are all soaked so my pen carved into the paper. SLTNLN. TFTC.

This was a little bit out of way of my planned walk but couldn’t resist another oldie. It was very wet inside the box but the new log sheets inside the tube were nice and dry. I googled the hint which helped to make an easy find. Tftc

26-Nov-22
All the roads to get to this oldie were closed thanks for the blooming Jacaranda trees nearby; which are apparently a tourist attraction!

So I had a lovely walk down the street and through the parks to get here. Upon arrival; this part of the park was completely quiet so I had the place to myself.

Quickly found the cache (although the hint didn’t really help much). Can confirm the log inside is wet, but the new log that has been protected in a smaller inner container is still dry and good for signing!

Thanks for bringing me to this quaint little spot

Find 10 of 21 on a walk from the CBD to Kirribilli. Straight off the red-eye flight from Perth, dropped bag off at the hotel and out we went.

As reported, the log sheets are all super saturated. Managed to scratch a mark in. As we left we were nearly mugged by a couple of bush turkeys, but they turned out to be quite friendly.

Took the ferry to Kirribilli and its jacaranda trees. What a beautiful colour! So glad we managed to come here at this time of the year. The weather was lovely and we enjoyed the walk. Coffee at the Flying Bear was an obvious choice for the Bears that we are.

Nice and quiet, met only a bush turkey.

Other Anthropomorphic personifications have evolved from what they originally were; the Tooth Fairy started out as the anthropomorphic personifications of fear or the first The Bogeyman but after so long decided to protect children by guarding their teeth from the possibility of controlling magic.
