No luck for me today. I think I even found signs of the dead wallaby mentioned in a previous log but no cache

Today we tried to find this Geocache...we definitely had the right spot and were even joined by a 3rd Geocacher who was passing as we had our heads stuck in the sand..we looked we felt we scanned we even returned for a second look but couldn't find this elusive golden oldie

This one has been a target for a while so i decided this should be my first destination for this trip. I arrived just on dusk and was a little disappointed that i had to leave the geopooch in the car. After a pleasant stroll i then took some time to search and scratch my head before finally finding the cache. I am giving it a favourite point for the unusual concept. Its a good feeling to be able to log this lil fella. Every now and then i find it very therapeutic to skive off from what i really should be doing to enjoy some time in nature, walking, exploring, adventuring, or just being. These days, of course, that also includes geocaching. I was feeling a bit inundated and decided to head for the coast for a sea change, at least for a few days. Phillip Island has long been a favourite so i hit the road and after a busy drive through the city i finally arrive on the island and immediately felt myself beginning to relax. When i was young i enjoyed quite a few family holidays down here and some of my happiest memories were created on splendid days exploring the beaches and rocky coasts. I will certainly find some geocaches while im here but i will probably spend more time just walking and sight seeing i think. A Picture's worth a Thousand Degrees is find number 3,683 for me. A fun regular sized mystery cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Bass Coast Shire. I am logging this one on Monday 22 July 2024 at 6:11 pm and the weather is Broken Clouds 17C 67% 11 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy Quasar.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

Gorgeous day for a stroll, then got a little grubby but easily found. Not a 2L though but who cares? Other walkers on track bugged out due to snake so I had a free search. Didnt see snake though thankfully. Cache in good condition so signed away. Thanks to Quasar for this unusual but intriguing cache. fave point for doing something different and great location. Was looking forward to venturing out to this unique cache for a few reasons, and no muggles meant that a fairly comprehensive search could take place. An abundance of spiderwebs meant that I didn't get physically underneath, although the regular available options were checked and no container was found. With a year of unlove on this one, it'll be interesting to see if anyone else can have better luck!

Spent a bit of time on Phillip Island and picked out a few caches to look for with ilook4geo. We have been here before but this time visited different places. This was a target cache for this trip and was quite easy to find, but even though the weather was dismal, we had to wait for walking muggles to disappear before retrieving the container. Once the log was signed we had to wait again for more muggles to pass before we could replace the container. Thank you to Quasar for placing this cache.

We shared the find here with goingplaces2 and had to dodge the muggles. Beautiful view from GZ and further along the track. Would have been even better if the weather had been fine when we were there. TFTC.

Out for another walk today whilst holidaying on Phillip Island, another great day weather wise.
This is one cache I had wanted to do while we were here. Thought I knew where the photo was taken from but turns out I was wrong. Luckily I asked our friends who we were staying with and they pointed it out on the map. Sure enough when we got there we were able to locate the right spot. With coordinates in hand we got to GZ and made the find! Yes!

FTF Hounding might have brought me down to The Island, but I've had a list of a number of geocaches that I have wanted to get here. So the plan is to go for the FTF, collect a few other interesting caches while waiting for the tide to go out, and then grab some low tide only caches.

I always thought I knew where this photo was taken, but the coordinates next looked right. As such it just sat there un touched. That was until I was doing some other research and saw an image that matched this one. Then I had it. However that was at least 4 years ago, I've just ran out of time when in the area and have collected it. However, today that was to change. Found at 9.15 am, after looking in all the wrong places.

Thanks for the cache Quasar

After being at the earthcache we made a little stroll together with Locus cache and Cybergran V.
Easy find, but first I found only two empty containers with no lids laying on the ground.
After searching around I found the lid for the systema can and the logbook in its plastic bag laying one meter away.
I cleaned the systema can and filled it and then placed it where I think it should be.

On our geocaching tour of Phillip Island with our wonderful chauffeur locus cache, and team Jebjeb, Heike found an empty container, and between one and two metres she found another cache with the log book in it which now has our names in it as well.
Thanks for this old one Quasar.

We are staying at Grantville because we are in the area for today's River Garden Working Bee in Bass. Set ourselves a challenge of trying to find 11 different cases today. That successfully completed we headed to San Remo for fish n chips and thought Pyramid Rock would be a lovely place to eat them. The sun was beginning to set when we arrived and the colours were amazing. The walk to find this cache was beautiful and the sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks far below very peaceful. Unfortunately, this cache has been smuggled. We have contacted the CO and plan to head back tomorrow to repair the cache. Thank you for this cache Quasar.

Victoria Day 5: Phillip Island and back again.

Today’s main agenda was to visit Phillip Island for the Penguin Parade, but that left us with the better part of the day for other affairs. One of the aims was the old cache at the Cranbourne Botanic Gardens, and to have a very nice hike through Cape Woolamai on Phillip Island. All the objectives were had and we had a very good time watching the penguins retuning home, though that did mean a very late return to Melbourne. A great day out with a side of caching.

This is the specific log for this cache:
I am not sure what possessed me to look for this one while the coordinates were out in the Bass Straits, but I am glad I did as the cache coordinates “landed” in a place I wanted to visit anyway. Picked it up after a short hike today, and was glad that I was able to find it with little trouble. Nice idea and puzzle, TFTC!

A recent chance encounter with an Australian geocacher gave us the hint to look out for the photo on the cache page in the general area we had planned to be caching in today. As such, having just enjoyed our geo-picnic while taking into yet more wonderful scenery we continued on our geocaching way, spotting the very prominent landmark shortly after. We then worked out the final location of the cache and with our GPS update we soon found ourselves at Ground Zero. The cache was soon located and log book signed. Thanks so much for the cache and for the very different type of puzzle and greetings from Zimbabwe

*Smiley # 10023.*
*Cache find # 9978 + 45 Lab Caches.*

After spending a bit of time on Churchill Island at an event and finding a few caches, we then returned to the larger Island and then went on a quest to find some treasure.
I had solved this one some time ago but haven’t manage to get here to find it and as it is one of the older caches it was high on the to do list, today I made sure I was going home until it was found.
We headed off form the carpark along a nicely formed trail until we reached GZ where shortly after jascat found the cache.

**Thanks to Quasar for placing this cache.**

Last time I was here wasn't even aware of this, so a real D'oh! Moment when got home and had it pointed out. Here visiting with family and given 20mins to go caching. Of course going to go for the oldies! A breezy day, quick find and awesome views. Cheers!

Why didn't I notice the connection the last time I was here.
The family were keen to visit this location, so i took a detour over familiar ground to locate the hide and a Do'h moment.
Always worth a second visit.

Log signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for the cache Quasar

Out with Bunadoorian finding a few challenge caches down here as the CITO Tree Planting has been postponed. Second cache for today. I had worked out where this was some time ago for Crustyvarmint. Today we got to sign the log. TFTC

Crustyvarmit brought this cache to our attention and Grub62 recognized the area. When we arrived at the site of the photo and after a few recalculations. Grub62 I finally worked out a plausible GZ site. After arriving there Grub62 quickly found this cache. A great puzzle and fantastic views. TFTC.

We are having a holiday in Phillip Island this week. Being the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, coupled with some lovely weather, made it very busy, with muggles out everywhere you went.

Having solved this, it was just a matter of making the find after doing the nearby earthcache. The container was found on the ground and had a fair bit of water in it. Dried out the container and log, best I could and replaced the container where it should have been.

Thanks for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play

Taking some photos in the area and a penny dropped.
Great use of numbers too.
A beaut walk out, so many wallabies.
We had the trail all to ourselves so it was easy to search at GZ.
Found with +Wife on a cool afternoon.
Thanks for the puzzle and hide Quasar.

What a lovely area. So much to see. The only thing missing were some whales.

Find #4144. Found @ 10:24 with The Good Lady Wife.

What better use of a long weekend getaway than to have a relaxing couple of days on Phillip Island, and to target some caches.

Heading off to target a nearby Earthcache that I needed for a D/T square on my second loop, and this was along the way.

As we were heading along a particular track, my GPSr showed an unexpected cache on the map. It was this puzzle that I'd solved who knows how long ago. We arrived at GZ just as a muggle couple were walking around a bend into view. We paused to let them pass before making a attempt for the cache. After they'd passed out of view I attempted the grab, only to find that they'd returned. Totes awkies! They had no interest in what we were doing and walked on past.

I made the find and returned the cache to the location I'd grabbed it from. The log book has the last find in December 2017, but I see there is another log on the webpage, perhaps I missed that in the book.

Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Quasar

Who would have thought to look out here for a potential cache! Not me that's for sure but as soon as we had this one pointed out to us we knew where it was and went for a short walk to make the find. One of our favourite places to visit. TFTC.

30-Sep-17
Somehow it was much easier to find than last time I tried. Whether it's been moved from where it was to a much more accessible location or I just didn't look there before I don't know. The hint saved me bashing around in the scrub like I did last time. Whatever, it's found and logged. Great puzzle. TFTC

Having worked out the location a very long time ago, the opportunity had never arisen to come and complete the puzzle. Not so today , on this blustery ole' chilly morning in the company of DAB and Na'wal we took a detour to add our names to the logbook. We noticed the 2 previous finders are not in the logbook and we strongly suspect they have actually found the original as they speak of sogginess, which this fresh new cache is not.
Thanks Quasar for the mystery placement in a picture perfect location.

Friday saw another caching trip planned, with the combined teams of The_Tritonz, Na'wal and myself. An early start was on the cards for the long journey to the Coast. The weather was a mixed bag all day, with it changing from rain to sunshine frequently. The wind was very strong as well, but you have to expect that in this neck of the woods. Once again, there was great variety of hides. It's always a pleasure to cache here and we are already planning our next trip !!
A clever way to get a set of co-ords. Had no trouble finding the cache. TFTC Quasar Big Grin

11-Aug-17
The plan was in place today with DAB & the Tritonz to make our way over to Wonthaggi and surrounds to do some caching. We left early to make the most of the day with a long car trip needed and we had a great day out even with the rain, cold & windy conditions. We moved off to find this one as we had all wanted to find it after working out what was needed many moons ago. Signed and replaced as found.

**Thanks for this puzzle cache Quasar** Smile

Found this one today while in the area grabbing a few caches and this one had been solved for a little while now and decided to try to find it with omegaman1971. One our way to the gz l spotted a slow old snake resting on the a trail, we gave it a wide berth and made our way to the gz and after a few minute came up with the cache. A little soggy but managed to get our name on the log. Thanks Quasar for the puzzle and hide, also on the way back we saw the same snake on the trail again so once again we made a short detour around it.

After a short search Happy pants spotted the cache.
Cheers for the cache.

Well it's finally Mad March Mystery Month for me and the count is now climbing towards at least 31 mystery caches for the month, hopefully. Solved the puzzle some time ago but I had to wait until March to go find the prize.
Nice short stroll to pick up the find, just a beautiful spot...

I was pleased to find that I had a fair idea what was going on here at first glance, and some reasonable-looking coordinates presented themselves fairly quickly. I don't find myself in this area very often so said coordinates have been on my gadget for quite a while. After a modest hike I was pleased to find the cache leaping out at me within a few moments of arriving at GZ. It's unloved too, I see. I seem to be stumbling on unloved caches every time I turn around lately. It's a curious state of affairs. Thanks for the puzzle and pleasant walk Quasar!

Visited today to find no sign of the cache. Replaced with a brand new container and log book. Should be watertight for a while now. Position is the same as before.

We had solved this one a while ago so being close we headed over. We parked close and saw a likely track so headed off. Some nice views in the area and as the path wound its way around we knew the likely location of the hide. A quick search and GZ and we soon made the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. Catching up on a very late log.
We headed off here with micaparamedic with the sole intention of grabbing a few earth caches and hopefully catching up with the cache owner, unfortunately she had left for the QLD Mega but the caches were still up for grabs.
We have tried this one many times over the years and being in the area decided to try our luck again today with the difference the coordinate proved to be correct and at last we were able to cross this one off our list.
Many thanks Quasar it is always great to find one of the older caches. Smile

That was good trip and I found the box very easy but there was everything wet.
I give the logbook out and a film box with a new logbook in.
Hope this is OK.
Thanks.

Our log of 17/11 says it all. Our apologies for late notice due to lack of internet on road.

With only 52 finds in 11 years this forgotten cache needs more attention as it's in a very scenic spot with a lovely easy walk. The puzzle is not even hard to solve. Unfortunately it also needs a lot of TLC. As reported by quite a number of our predecessors this cache is vulnerable to flooding despite it's location. We tipped about a cupful of water out but the logbook was an unsignable sponge. We've posted a photo not only to prove our find but to demonstrate what greeted us.

We'll raise another maintenance flag though we realise this may be a remote cache for the CO to get to. Of course we didn't go prepared with a new tub so, if a prospective finder reads this log in time: please take a new container & logbook - & preferably a couple of heavy duty bags. Thanks for the magical experience Quasar.

Found on a day out on Phillip Island with Liz and Bruce. The weather, scenery and company was fantastic . Great views from this area. Cache was found quickly but is in desperate need of some TLC log and cache contents is very damp inside. Unfortunately we didnt bring anything to fix it up with. TFTC

We just could not leave this area without revisiting Phillip Island in an endeavour to finish off the Not Drowning series and to collect some other caches in the area that have been on our list for a long time. Again we were lucky to have a perfect day to go exploring this most scenic island and with what better company than Gonefishen07 and Zobo04 (after school hours). Loved finding this cache, it get a fav point, the views while on our walk to gz were outstanding. Thanks to Quasar

Suscoe's second find of the morning as we wandered about.
This was a surprise for us as we had found this cache note a few weeks ago by accident.
Did the required work and knew where we had seen that before.
Today all was quiet as we approached GZ, only to disturb a wallaby.
Cache found and a very damp log was signed.
Thanks to Quasar for placing this cache.

Been keen to pick this one up for awhile and but when last in the area forgot this was actually close by. So this afternoon with the heat of the sun now not so much it was a nice peaceful walk to GZ. A great spot for a cache with the cache found with ease. Do like this style of mystery cache and a great location too. Thanks for bringing me back here today.

A friend told me about this cache, as it is out of range of my pocket query, I never noticed it before. However I did recognise the picture, and soon had the coordinates for GZ. Today we went off with friends to find it. Container and logbook are absolutely sodden. Have left the logbook out of its bag in an effort to dry it out, however maintenance is needed. TFTC

After getting a heads up from Bounty Trackers the general area this cache was I decided to have a look, fancy it being on the same road my customer's farm is on!!!

Plugged in the co ords once I got into the spot where the pic was taken then walked to the GZ. Quickly found the cache and sorry for not reading prior logs as I would of bought a spare log. Was unable to sign the log proper so added one of natures logs, a bone of some hapless animal that was nearby proved perfect to write my moniker on.

Thanks for the cache Quasar!!!

I happened to stumble across this cache page earlier in the year when I was doing a bit of toing and froing between states on the Geocaching map. I knew where the place in the picture was even though it's been 20 odd years since I've been there.
Teaming up with the Geo-Baristas {who happened to be on a caching Holiday), I was finally able to tick this one off the list.

TB "Scrat" visited your cache whilst on his Great Aussie Adventure.

After gaining some intel from S N A F U, we made our way to the right area. After solving the equation, we made the decision to come back the next day when we had a little more daylight. The next day we made our way to the GZ and made the find. The container was filled with water and everything was soaked, we managed to sign the log anyway. TFTC

TFTC, Team Mornington, Hazey1, Biger12, MrMcGee and Saulman1010. Having lived down here for 7months last year, this great location was easily solved. Lol, only stumbled across the actual cache icon when searching for another one; otherwise may have got it a tad earlier. Enjoyed the stroll to Gz and Views. A great and fun mystery to bring to an ace location.

Team Mornington, Hazey1, Biger12, MrMcGee and myself on an April Fools day caching run on the island again today.
Grabbed a few and finished off others.
Nice day, for a few caches, looking for one of the new "TINY" caches Wink
Using Hazey's knowledge of the island, this one was a nice easy puzzle. Great location.

Found on a final drive around the area while staying for a few days.
Had to get some help with the puzzle and then it was an interesting walk to GZ, not really the proper way.
A relatively quick find thanks to some good coords and then on the road again.
A lovely picture it is too.

Fortunately I knew what the picture was referring to so was able to work out a plausible GZ at home, just had to wait until I was down this way to go for the hunt. Well I was finally nearby today so headed to the spot, checked the coords of where I was - which was close to where the photo was taken from but nor exactly right. Loaded up the coords into the GPSr and it showed a walking track leading right to GZ so headed off for the walk. Very pleasant walking along here, the natural low scrub is gorgeous and the crashing waves below just add to the overall picture. Got to GZ easily and found the cache in about the third place I really looked and was happy to sign this one! Thanks to quasar for bringing me here, lovely spot. On the way back to the car I saw a wallaby not far from the track who was happy just to watch me walk past!

We thought we had this one in the bag several times last year on our regular journeys across Bass Strait to Tasmania and home again. Even though we had 4 return trips, we never came close to retrieving it from the watery depths.
However our good friends, KI Bug, on a trip to the area a few months ago pointed out what we were doing wrong.
Even though we knew the location of the photo we still managed to misinterpret it completely during that visit.
On reflection back home it dawned on us how simple it really was and thus our find today on a return trip.
Thanks for a different variation on a cache and a return trip to a lovely area.

15/07/12 4:18 PM Find #1122 Its back to the island for myself and Square Pegs. Our day started with clear skies and a crisp breeze which developed into rain and strong wind. The elements certainly tested our resolve but it was amazing. We saw contrasts of colour in the sea and surrounding environment that is the sort of thing most people would never see as they opt to stay indoors.

The walk up to this cache was a challenge in the stormy weather that was enveloping us. I wondered if we were being too optimistic about not getting soaked. We found the skeleton of a Wallaby and surprisingly a dry cache container. This is a cool puzzle! Thanks Quasar.

Oddly enough I recall stumbling across this cache when I was curious if there were any caches on King Island, and saw this cache in Bass Strait. Having visited the location before I recognised it immediately when I saw the picture. Well today I was finally able to come and visit this location. It was a great walk along a track I would otherwise not have known was there. GZ was a fantastic spot with some great views, even in the slight drizzle. Thanks Quasar for the cache.

Having the morning off work I was able to head down to Phillip Island to meet up with the rest of the TDC crew (Trailrunning and Blacklegend) to knock off a few more of the last remaining caches we had on the island. After a couple of big trips here recently we didn't have too many more to go. With limited time this morning I was able to collect another five caches leaving only six more before I have cleared the island out completely.

After being able to recognise the site shown in the photo we were able to head to GZ. The weather wasn't too crash hot today but that didn't stop us from making our way to GZ and soon locating the cache. Thanks for the puzzle and hide.

10-Jul-12
Another TDC assault on Philip Island. The members of the team (myself, Quasar3671 and TrailRunning) together today, for an attempt at a final clean up of the area. We didn't quite get them all, but almost all of them... We did see some whales, that was awesome. Very wet and miserable, but our team spirit was still great with some laughs and jokes along the way.

After our team received a heads up about a final for this one in a place we were heading to, TR took it upon himself to do a little research, and sort out the finals. We collected the final on our run, and a great cache to do as well. An older cache with less than 40 finds. Feels a bit like an exclusive club.. TFTC.

10-Jul-12
The members of TDC gathered together for a quick trip to Phillip Island. Marshy was in town again, and Marty took the morning off work. He was soon to return once he had collected the caches he needed, leaving Marshy and I to continue to the western part of the island to gather the caches not available during the night due to road closures. The island is now close to being complete. It was a wet and miserable day, but a few jokes and laughs lightened the spirits and the whale watching off Flynns Reef. I was alerted to this puzzle by lemmykc, so once I solved the puzzle, the cache was collected today.

After a full school term with exam after exam, I didn't get to do much caching. This was all going to change however when I started to plan an assault on *UNNAMED LOCATION*. I started to think of which town would be best to assault to raise me from the dead after my abysmal effort in the earlier months. With 3 different series, a power trail, and a handful of other caches, *UNNAMED LOCATION* was the place to go. So I started solving the puzzles and making a few phone calls so I would have the best chance of finding a heap. I solved most of the puzzles, however some of them required a bit of a nudge or someone else to realise my error. I started to think about my route in a way that would get me the most finds possible. We ended up with 55 in one day, and 87 for the whole weekend which was a fantastic effort . The weather was very on and off for the whole weekend which made some journeys quite unpleasant, however on the whole it was awesome. The *UNNAMED LOCATION* was a definite highlight for me. We started off the day with the 'Pathway' and managed to complete it and all of the other caches along the trail in just over 4 hours. What an awesome weekend! Thank you to all of the owners who contributed, but especially hell+back and The Three Geo Amigos (you know who you are)!

I looked at this puzzle a long time ago but I had no idea where to start. Nowadays, with what is available on the internet, it is not as much as a challenge as what it would have been when it was originally released. I read through all of the logs and soon worked out a plausible location. Now to use Google Earth to bash some coordinates out of it. Hmm, they don't look quite right. Nope, those ones are in the ocean. Hey, this looks right! I emailed Quasar to confirm with him and offer to replace the cache if it was missing. Today, we enjoyed a very nice stroll along to find it. I came with cache in hand, but when I got under, it was just sitting there! How could anybody miss it? Anyway, a great cache that I am very pleased to find. Thanks Quasar! Big Grin A favourite point for this one [^]

DNF – It certainly is… believe we found the right spot, but try as we might… we couldn’t find the cache, but we did find a wallaby skeleton within a metre of our GZ. Saw some roos on our walk, so that has more than made up for our disappointment in not finding the cache. Great views along the walkway.

Was looking forward to doing this one. However after swimming almost to Tassie and nearly being run down by the ferry I eventually found the desired location and enjoyed the views. Then I came face-to-face with something very DEAD at GZ! In the company of Tank47 and others I made a brave grab. TNSL and left a ladybug as usual to ponder the demise of the previously mentioned body. Thanks Quasar for an entertaining cache.

Found at 1045hrs with KI Bug on our "Not Drowning" caching weekend, thanks Quasar for the cache, TNLNSL

Found by Bob at 1500

At last! I've been carting those 3 bits of picture around with me for over 4 years now! "Icecream and Cigarettes" was my 11th cache on 6/3/05, "Wombles of Heathmont Common" was my 45th on 8/4/05, "Great Library at Montrose" was my 89th on 21/5/05 and "Spreadsheet Stash" was my 354th on 2/1/06 - so I've had the info for the final for an awful long time! Anyway, having decided to take a day off work and head down to Phillip Island, this was an absolute must to get completed and it was a great relief to finally spot that container - although the skeletal remains of a small wallaby right near it had me checking other spots first.

TNLN, but did retrieve a geocoin

Thanks Quasar - I'm just glad it didn't get archived before I got around to it Smile.

Dropped in to check on the cache. New container is great, thanks to all finders for keeping it going strong. Dropped off Masters of Space Geocoin.

This one has been a looonnngg time coming! I first figured out where it was after a bit of trial and error with Farmers Five when they lived in Melbourne. I was then down at the right spot last year but forgot about this one (the coords are so far away), Today was the day and the cache was an easy find. Thanks Quasar

Rabbitto fondly reminsisced about how fun and clever this cache was to do when it first came out. Obviously it has taken on a new form now but it was still very clever and satisfying to complete. We found a dead fox quite close to the cache, evidently the baiting is working well on the island.

Thanks!

Was lucky to be in company with Robmc when he did some maintenance here so the find was easy for me. I do recall this cache having some different info in times past though. Anyway it's a great spot with fantastic views, as the picture shows and incidently this also brings up 2800 finds.
Thanks indeed Quasar.

I had a bit of this puzzle loitering around the study for quite a while, but I hadn't got around to going there. The last couple of days I was helping a friend place some caches in this area, so my chance had come.
Nice walk to GZ.
The cache was wet (poured out water), but the logbook was still OK. If you need a bit of maintance, I'll be going back in a couple of weeks.
Thanks, Robmc.

Sometimes you need a reason to come to a place. Sometimes a photo can help you solve a mystery. Thanks Quasar

Another cache is rescued from the clutches of Bass Strait. Just one to go! I have sat on the location of this one for a year or more and indeed it is exactly 12 months since the last find here. Predictably a little moisture in cache but logbook still very much writeable. Lovely seaside scenery and an even better walk to GZ. Thanks to Quasar for this novel cache. I would have liked to have done it in its original form but nonetheless it is the best cache that I did this weekend.

Had two pieces of the puzzle a long time ago but have not been down this way for ages, so even when the full picture was available we have not been in the area to pick up the cache. Conveniently, the meeting place for AWG bushwalk 61 was at the car park near the picture so after car shuffle & with the walk having been aborted by heavy seas cutting off access, we drove back and walked in to look at the views from this end (and pick up the cache!). Also introduced first time cachers SLACA (with new gps) to to making a find (although they have assisted with other finds in the past).
At 3pm we took a stretchy shark & left a finger puppet lizard
thanks Quasar

We had collected the hint photo a long time ago, and pondered over the pic many times. Over time the photo got put to the bottom of the caching file and was put on the back burner.
Originally we had two locations but we never seemed to have the time to explore both, but today we decided to do what we should have done a long time ago and set time aside for exploring.
With the photo now in full color online it became apparent where it was and after a pleasant drive we stopped at the cache location. Walking to GZ confirmed we were in the right place and after a gentle stroll the cache was found and logged.
Many thanks Quasar for this cache and bringing us to this location, very much enjoyed.
TNLN.

While in the area (well, close enough I guess), I thought I'd try to finish this one off as it had been waiting in Geko for such a looooong time. After all, I had obtained the first piece of the puzzle from Spreadsheet Stash (GCHGKQ) in September 2004 and the last piece from The Wombles of Heathmont Common (GCHFRM) in Jan of 2005!!!

On a beautiful day, EuDes herself and I headed to GZ for a nice quick find. We swapped a newly acquired stretchy whale (in) for a Buddha statue (out).

Many thanks Quasar for a great series. And what sensational views from around GZ Big Grin!!! The cache notes I had were dated 12/1/2005(!!) so I wasn't aware that the methodology had changed. Que sera sera Wink.

Due to difficulty maintaining the caches containing the puzzle pieces, I have decided to make the photo visible on the web page. Congratulations to all who have found the cache to date. This should ensure a lot more finds in the future.

Found at 20:15. This cache has been a long time coming since I picked up the first picture piece.
I knew where in the state to look but I thought it was at another prominent land mark in the area. I guess it pays to be a member of a certain association, not to mention the Rebel Alliance. I loved the view from the area thanks for a great cache.

Fifth of 16 caches for the day. This one has been a long time coming. I picked up the first piece of the picture way back in March 2004. I had a guess about the whereabouts of the final location, but Quasar suggested that I check the (then) current issue of a motoring magazine. Thanks for that; it saved me from the trials and tribulations that muzza, kiwideb, and Alan-san had.

As I drove in, I passed within 130m of the cache, but I'm glad I didn't try the direct line to the cache. The car park is a far better option. The cache was an east find at 1055. Thanks to Quasar for a really enjoyable and innovative series of caches.

IN: Pack of cards
OUT: Torch key ring

2.50PM I have done one of the caches up in heathmont common, I couldn't remember where I had seen that place before. I had originally thought it was in Wilsons Prom but today taggiung alaong with Team rabbitto he said he knew where it was. When we finally got there I rememeberd the area better because Iw as here about 3 years ago with the family. After a short search Team rabbitto had cache in hand. I will have to do your other two caches some day. Thanks for the beautiful location. From M.B and S.M TNLN.

Found at 2:50pm. Our second stop on our tour of the Phillip Island / Wonthaggi area in company with xfking and S.M. This is the end of a very long search for us. We had long found the three preceeding caches, collected all the clues and knew where to come for the final prize. We had just never tripped down this way until today to pick it up. In fact we have collected over 300 other caches in between.

The initial caches and puzzle photos for this cache were one of the reasons that geocaching became such an early attraction to us. We initially had no idea where the photo was but as a great coincidence, a couple of days after we had all three, a photo which almost identically matched yours appeared in a popular magazine and gave away the location. An easy final find and great spot.

Thanks Quasar from D & S B-A. Took Nothing Left Nothing.

Found 14:50, well we've finally completed this cache having collected all the pictures and figuring out were the final destination was. A great concept and a grea location.

Took Kermit the frog and left Coleman lamp key tag, thanks Quasar.

This cache was a real battle. We didn't know the area of the photograph very well and the feature pictured was completely unfamiliar. A friend had a brilliant idea of plotting all the possible points (given the photo clue provided at "The Great Library of Alexandra - Montrose Sub Branch") and that pointed to only one spot. We headed off too late last Sunday and it was dark when we arrived so it was not possible to confirm the location of the feature. Heading to the supposed target, all the tracks petered out at 100m from GZ (the track shown on maps no longer exists). It was not possible to continue in this very environmentally fragile area. Gave up and went on a long walk instead. This is a fantastic area for walking.

Today we returned to check out another guess - also in the dark - but at least got to GZ. No good. Finally took a random guess at the most likely location of the feature. There were some problems in finding the track but achieved success at 10:15pm. What a relief!! This is a brilliant cache, Quasar. We took a tiny teddy (in Christmas dress) and left a Gandalf figurine (to keep Gollum at bay). Travel Bug "RaceHeks" didn't want to stay!

Note that if you have any doubt about the places you are traversing, you are in the wrong place and/or are approaching from the wrong direction. This cache is completely environmentally friendly. Unless you know the area, don't even think of searching unless you can actually see the photographed feature first.

We started this series of caches on July 3 with "The Wombles of Heathmont". Over a month later we find ourselves spending a weekend with a group of friends in the area that we thought the picture was taken. So the obvious thing to do is to drag the group out of a warm house and go searching. As soon as we got to the car park, we started smiling and held up the re-assembled picture to the others and asked them to "spot the difference" - which of course there was none Big Grin. Went off for the final run and spent one or two minutes searching before we had the cache in our hands. Took: Paint scraper, Left: Laughing Buddha.
Thanks Quasar for an interesting series.
ps - the group then wanted to know if there were any other caches in the area, so I promptly took them to Good Old Granite V2 Twisted

After gathering all the picture pieces and a lot of research on the web, we arrived at the appointed spot on a beautiful summer's day. A pleasant walk followed by a short search and there it was! Thanks for an interesting variation on geocaching. Nothing exchanged. Greg and Bev

Found by Mary & David at 1605. Suspense, intrigue and surprise. This cache has it all, along with the wonderful views of course. Hope it can become a series. A few people here this afternoon taking in the sights, but all were well away and out of sight of GZ. Took pen & pencil set, left sample music CD and tiny teddy. Great fun, Quasar.

Found with Muzza and Kiwideb after a lot of island hopping, and I mean a lot. Even so it worked out to be a fantastic day, if we hadn't had the false starts I wouldn't have seen anywhere near as much of this island was we did, I've include a picture of one place we visited. We even walked through a surf comp with geopacks - we'll go anywhere. So anyway after succumbing to having to ask for help we were lead progressively closer to the location. Once we saw the picture worth a thousand words in the real, we knew we had it... but only to have been beaten by Team Kittens. Well done girls, you've earned it. I swapped a hacky sack ball for a George Bush squish ball. Also like Team Kittens, Kiwideb got irritated by the brick game.

Woohoo! Our first virgin cache Big Grin, and in such a nice location too. The find itself was pretty easy. After a quick play with the brick game, we decided it had to be left for other people to enjoy, and took the musical spinning top instead. Left a hacky sack/foot bag. Thanks Quasar, for a thoroughly enjoyable cache hunt.
