It seems after a few years of enjoyment by many Cachers that the powers at be have gone to great lengths to remove this geocache as well. It wont be long now and we will only be able to drive through these great places.
A great climb and view. We didn't get closer than about 40m when it became apparent that we'd need to leave the track. With small children in tow, we decided against it.
Found with Water Rat. This is the most trouble I've ever had getting to a cache after we had found where it was. Great views I was last up here over 30 years ago, it's good to be back, thanks Alby and Wendy.
Found with Tratty. Had a great walk up to this cache, still eager after locating Cicada Song across the road. Spent some time contemplating the the clue before locating cache - only to spend more time working out how to retrieve it. Took the time to check out the views over the valley before moving on.

With the superb weather continuing we headed off to do this and the other nearby cache. Loved the walk in, plenty of shade provided by the aging rain forest. Cache was further on and higher than we expected. Bruce volunteered to go up and I didn't protest. With the two snakes we had seen yesterday when we had climbed Mt Mitchell walking through the thick undergrowth to the cache was unnerving for both of us (even though I was only watching). After a short search and after I'd called out the clue the cache was found. Loved the views and the rock formations. TNLN. Thanks albyalbatross&Wendy. Now on to the next one further up the hill.
Well the views were well worth the effort. Drove down from Toowoomba and had a great afternoon. Enroute we saw a 7 foot scrub python right across the track and had to wait a while for him to cross. While searching for a way to the cache due overgrown and not visited much, I had a close call with a Taipan snake. Cache is well hidden and in good condition. Ran out of time to go to "Bare Rock". This cache is a "must visit" just to enjoy the panoramic scenery. TNLN TFTC
Found today with daughter and her boyfriend. I really needed that climb at the end. I was up this mountain about 1 month before discovering geocaching so this was my second trip this year.
The cache is in good condition
Took puss n boots, left keyring.
I think I put yesterdays date in the log(28th) but it was the 29th

Found this in company of Spraker. I agree with Spraker's comments.....Great view (of the storm rolling in). Note to next Geocacher, place a thermal blanket in Cache for next crew who decides to attempt on the coldest day in QLD history.
I could just about see my house from the top. TFTC

Found on our second attempt. The first try was several months ago and we were not prepared for the stroll. Came this time fully prepared and ready for a leisurly stroll. It must have the coldest day of the year today and we certainlly knew that when we got to the top. Fantastic views the kids were wrapped and so proud of themselves. The rain started to roll over the range and the family hide in the cave for a while until it passed. Found this one in the company of the Phantom and geofamily. TFTC
Found in company with the other geotrekers. We had a relatively easy walk with plenty of tree cover to keep us cool. With the mist about, the scramble to the cache was an interesting exercise - that step to the left could be a doozy! TFTC it is well worth the effort to visit.

On a foggy morning we strolled in on the well formed track only to find we had to meet the mountain goat challenge for the assault on the cache. With the fog still thick on the mountain edge we really could not see what was below as we searched for the cache. By the time we logged the find a returned back down to the track for the photo sessions the fog was lifting.
Some spectacular views awaited us on the return journey via the lookout. TFTC [:D}
Thanks to all who turned out for the March GeoTrek

Forgot to log my find in all the excitement! Found with the others on the March Geo-trek
Found it this time. I'm sure there is a warp in the space time continuum around the cache as it wasn't there last time (thats my story and I'm sticking to it.) BTW I wasn't tired last time (I walk up mountains for a living) the cache simply slipped into a different dimention. The cache had been logged that morning by the crew of the march geotrec. Ran into them further up the track. TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache.
Found on the March Geotrek
I had prepared myself for yet another titanic battle with the unmerciful terrain of the scenic rim [B)]
Visions of steep slippery slopes and dense rainforest ran through my mind [:o]
Wow what a great trail we found instead !! Gentle gradients and superb scenery the whole way
On the return journey the scenery was even better as the clouds had lifted off the mountains
TFTC and thanks to my fellow geotrekkers for the company

Found this one on our way to bare rock views.
I tagged along with the March geotrack mob. While the last little scramble to this cache tested my rather sore back, the rest of the track was a very pleasant surprise - gentle grades and pleasant walking. We marveled at the industrious diggings on route. Our walk to this cache was mostly shrouded in fog, but by the time we returned from Bare rock the cloud had lifted and we were treated to the fine views on offer.
Thanks for the cache.

It seems the cacche is right where it was meant to be. Mabey someone was a little tired and getting right down and looking!!! Pics will be up next week. It is all good and sound, just elusive!!!
After an enjoyable walk up the mountain in the company of Scorpionboy (aka 8yo bounder who has struck off on his own caching identity) we finally got within 50m of GZ. Scorpion boy stayed on the track while I scrambled up to GZ. Found where I think the cache should have been, but after 1/2 hour searching some particularly uncomfortable vegetation, only turned up a toy parrot. we left dissapointed not to have found the cache but happy to have done the walk, especially proud of Scorpion boy's effort...its a long walk for a little guy. When I got home I compared the parrot with MT Biker's photos, and low and behold the parrot from the thorny vegetation is the same as the parrot in MT Biker's photo.
So took parrot
Left lots of skin on vegetation
Didn't sign log as I didn't see the actual cache.

Hints and a map say it all.
Have to admit though we started with this cache but no joy so continued onto 'Bare Rock Views' where we found that one (enjoyed the fantastic views and lunch). On return trip decided to have another look for this one - success. Was in the correct spot the first time but.......
If Muggles find this one I'd take my hat off to them.
Agree with the previous finder - the extraction was the most devilish one yet.

These walks and views are the best - thanks albyalbatross&Wendy.

Ya gotta be kiddin!!!!
Ya want me to go up there???
OK - I've come all this way from Canberra , I'll not give up here. Up I went, got to the coords - Found cache in a mere 15 seconds.
Extraction was the hard part.
(took picture of cache to prove I found it - )
Took Big Bird, left candle'
GREAT VIEWS, even if a bit scary.
Well done & thanks for making me go up there.

Had a good look for this but couldn't find it and ran out of time in the end. Hope it hasn't been lost to us all. Well worth the effort for the views though. I hadn't been up there for probably 30 years
Just a spot Cahe ChecknUp today. Thought a Muggles might have found it seeing it was missed. Checked coord as well only one digit difference in southings.
Wasn't too sure if we really supposed to leave the track but tried anyway. Climbed to the point where the GPS thought the cache was and had a bit of a look around but didn't feel too happy on the side of the mountain and didn't know what the cache looked like so but left empty handed.
bmac is back!
After a long absence, this marks bmac's return to caching. And a virgin cache to for the comeback. At the car park, I was faced with choice of two caches. Decided for this one, as the walk provided more rainforest coverage on a hot day. Was treated to an abundance of fauna. Almost stepped on a baby brown snake while trying to see a whip-bird. The track near the cache is getting overgrown after the recent rains on top of the bush fires a couple of months back.
The climb to the top was a bit scary in parts by oneself, and came back looking like a chimney sweep.
Thanks for the hunt, Alby, Wendy and Mel-Anne.
