Thought I'd do a reccy despite the comments. WIll also admit defeat here although I must admit that I had no idea about this little grove and despite the apparent lack of a cache it was a lovely little spot. I do enjoy finding things out about Canberra and it's surrounds that I never knew.
Hoping for a quick find while out touring with the geo-wife. Unfortunately searched and searched but could not find. Found the X marker but nothing else. There were fresh bulldozer tracks all round so it may have been 'commandeered'.
went to look for this but a tree has fallen and destroyed alot including the circle of sticks
didn't find, should have read the logs before I left my car. What a waste of time. Tyre mark all around the trees here. No X to be found.
Hi S's, can you please archive this if your not going to replace it? It keeps coming up as available - thanks.
Nope - not there. Searched for a long time as I hate a cahce to beat me but I definately think it's gone.
Hope a new one is located in the forest at some stage cause it's a pretty cool place.

Went to visit this cache yesterday to drop off a geocoin, and, unless it has been relocated, it looks like it has been muggled. There is a noticeable hole where it used to be.
This one took a while to find as JJ was definitely interested in pretending he was on a BMX bike on the nearby track and not interested in geocaching. Found eventually.
Left: Bugs Bunny TB (haven't dropped him yet because I forgot to copy down his number but have emailed the owner)
I was interested in finding out more about the Plaques that are in this area and did a bit of google search after we had visited I came up with the following about the trees and nothing about the plaque.
"About 120,000 mixed Sequoiadendron gigantea and Sequioa sempervirens seedlings were planted at Pialligo near the south eastern boundary of Canberra airport by Charles Weston in 1918, at Walter Burley Griffin’s request, despite advice that the Canberra climate is too dry for these species. Most of the Sequoiadendron have succumbed to lack of water.
A number of trees were removed to enable the airport to be extended in the 1960's. The remaining trees are exhibiting signs of stress and mortality is occurring, with only the hardiest surviving where moisture is sufficient.
The site was also supplemented with additional plantings inthe 1980s, most of which failed except for some attractive speciments of Pinus sabineana." taken from the following website: http://sawapl.tech.officelive.com/Pialligo_Redwoods.aspx

Out with Puk Ed on this one.
This one took a while to find and we went back through all the logs before finally coming up trumps. I reckon the coordinates are out about 8-10 metres.
Oh and I think the track is a radio controlled car track....

A lunchtime cache run with rbirtles and David (who still hasn't dug out his old geocaching handle). The cache itself was first spotted by David.
With such a big cache, I had to leave something, so I popped in a toy man.

A lunchtime visit with TienHua and David today. This was my second attempt at this cache but David got the find and made it look simple while I was further out from GZ. Left TB Dog Tag. Many thanks for the cache.
What magnificent trees: pity so many are apparently in demise.
There were many candidate hiding spots for this cache, and after scratching around for a few minutes we decided to trust the GPSr and it had us looking in the right spot soon enough. TNLN, TFTC.

Third visit, i think. Came back with Veronica (newbie), as i was going to drop off a geocoin, but decided to take it to NZ with me instead.
Scratched around for 20 minutes with no luck. I was in a hurry to get to other caches so should have been a little bit more systematic. I would have looked a site to the observer running around trees and going in circles. Next time...
You have to wonder why this stand of trees was planted. A nice spot to walk the geohounds. TFTC
Now that I have read others comments, wish we had persisted longer. Looked with mr Polliwog for ages, he was keen to keep looking but I was busting to try to get to Bridge Banter IX for an attempt at FTF. We did look for good half hour though but had trouble agreeing on what the clue meant! Will go back again another time as travel this road often enough. Lots of birdlife, very pretty little spot that would never had known about before caching. TFTC
Another nice little forest. I thought with the little BMX track so close, this one is very muggleable. But that didn't matter, I just couldn't find it. All trees within 100m fit the description. I think the half of the x marks the spot now lies on the ground as well. I was just about to give up when out of the corner of my eye, I spotted the unmistakeable sight of an unnatural pile of ????? The odd sound of planes taking off in the background, top spot !
After a drop off at the airport the geoboy and I did the short walk from the carpark to this great cache. Don't know about the X but sheer stubbornness won out and we had the cache in hand. Took blue car (geoboy loves it) and Pierre le Cyclops TB and left glow in dark star. Nice forest, TFTC!
Oops, forgot to mention that we did not see the EppieEppie Geocoin or the "DB & BNB" Geocoin - bummer

A pleasant walk to GZ, but then we had some trouble finding the cache. I was hunting under a tree when I realised I was standing under a large X, which I thought promising. After another five minutes without success, I deciphered the clue, and knew I was close. A little more persistence and the cache was found. Log book is now full.
Took little aeroplane and rhino, left golf ball and harmony day badge.
Thanks for this neat cache. A good hide and satisfying find.

One of the two caches i wanted to do yesterday, so i went to find them by myself today. A pleasant and surprising walk through the redwood trees, i never knew these were here! A little offputting all the boom noises from somewhere nearby, but i found the cache ok, and then found the 'x'. Thanks!

What a lovely walk across to the cache past all the old trees. Yep, they certainly look as if they don't much like droughts! The cache is in a lovely location, very peaceful as there were no planes taking off or landing over us when we were there. Dropped off Richie Richmond TB in the hope that someone will get him on a flight to USA. Thanks for great cache in a great spot

This is another one that I hadn't been able to find previously. That must have been about 300 caches ago, because it really wasnt hard today - how could I have missed it!!!!
Still, lovely area and I had no complaints with having to return here again for a very pleasant few minutes.

Thanks for the excuse for a nice walk in the forest, pity it's a dying forest. The planes are definately close by! Probably a good tip for others would be to have sunnies as I nearly poked my eye out with the dead branches! Also got my hair completely caught up in same branches!! But all in the name of fun. Picked up the travel bug and placed a couple of balloon rubbers in cache.
Great hide. Finally a cache big enough for the TB we have been lugging around. (swapped for diabetes TB)
Great area. Too many muggles at carpark, so we went around the road a bit , parked and climbed fence.
Will come back here with the geokids as they had a ball playing hide and seek whilst I searched.

Found it with young son and elderly mother. Lovely gentle walk on (mostly) flat terrain for those not up to a rough hike. I remember agisting my horses out here a LONG time ago - maybe 30 years or more. Didn't remember the grove being california redwoods though, just as a shady and serene place to ride. They must have been planted a long time before the late 70's because they don't look much taller. Sad to see some suffering from lack of water - many are still healthy or regrowing from the base so it's still a nice walk.
The hint was invaluable since GPS coverage was scanty under the canopy. Once I figured out what it was pertaining to (good one!) it was an easy find. SL, Took the Ford TB, left a blue superhero guy and a USA quarter. Didn't see the geocoin, but the diabetes TB is still there awaiting the next visitor. TFTC!

Dropped off a couple of bugs. Took a GCA Swaggie. No sign of the other two bugs currently listed against the cache.
Lots of dead trees around here with new grwoth at the bottom. Some taller than others. I found the X (nice one) and luckily the camouflage covering the container was clearly done by humans. My first ammo box cache!!

I have been meaning to stop and find this one for some time now, finally today was the day.
I located GZ quickly and commenced my search, I thought I had given myself plenty of time but where I thought this would be an easy find I was having some difficulty. Eventually I resorted to the hint and although it confirmed I was in the correct area it didn’t seem to help actually locate the cache. With time running short enough was enough, this is marked as a 1.5 difficulty it shouldn’t be this hard. I walked away, let the GPS settle and approached GZ again, where is this cache? Certainly not where I am looking in a last desperate search I decided to go in the opposite direction to where I had been looking, as soon as I turned around I saw the telltale sign of a hidden cache how foolish of me. Thanks The S’s.
T – Unactivated Geocoin – Thanks Lucy & Roo

This is clearly a tourist attraction as I, a Brisbanite, followed a Sydney resident into GZ... Well, it is very conveniently placed...
I wanderred around while the GPS settled and took absolutely no notice of the hint. Then I spotted something obvious and thought it had to be there.... NOPE. Reverted to the hint and glad I did. There are a lot of potential hidy holes here...
Took the TBs that my fellow tourist cacher left and a coin. I dropped in two TBs and a Swaggie (Tackable only on the GCA site so please bear in mind if you are an international cacher).
Thanks for placing a good size container. It seems to be a rare thing in these parts. Or it seemed so from the ones I found while in the Capital.
Cheers

Good to find this one, as we attempted this a year or so ago before we really started geocaching, and failed to find it... It was also a good opportunity to drop off some trackables...

On the first really warm day in sept, kept an eye out for snakes. Wandered around in circles for a few minutes ut found the x - kids very impressed with that, finding the cache was quick work from there.Great spot although people (and I use the term loosely) have decided this little forest is a good rubbish dumping ground.
