After some of the recent comments we have been back a couple of times and checked the cache. The fairly recent addition of the tub of lard is an unexpected distraction but does not interfere with the cache itself. Now that the rugby season is over and Canterbury, quite rightly is the top NZ team in Super 12, Ranfurly Shield and NPC, and because of the condition of the foliage at the site after recent desperate searches, we have decided to temporarily disable the cache in the meantime. But don't despair, we are currently putting out several more!!
Bugga - couldn't find it[:(!]. And it's a 1-star cache![:(!] Can I suggest the owner confirms if the cache still exists? Can I also suggest the cache gets moved? It's not in a particularly nice place - right beside the road, with a huge stinking tub of lard beside it!? The other thing is that the tree is now showing signs of wear [B)] after so many people have rummaged through it looking for that little box. Thanks
Had a good look at what wwe thought would be an easy one on the way home from the hills but to no avail. A dose of Agent Orange may help Thanks anyway.
8:12pm We found it after a couple of minutes searching, maybe it wasnt quite in the right place? Put it back in the same little niche though.

hmm - that's wierd... I would have thought from the name / description / hint that it would have been very obvious - but it wasn't. The Smelly Festering Tub of Lard ( not me!!! ) nearby didn't make an extended search very pleasant.
15:51 This cache very much reminded me of GCJYDR in Edinburgh although the container is much bigger here (hehe). Some strange dust at the cache site - my lower arms looked like covered in chalk when I was done. TFTC
Hmm - drove past earlier this evening.
I guess that was NOT one of the good times to do it.
I would say that it was the best guarded cache in the country at the time!!!

Took some time to find but the GPS was telling me the correct directions.
Cache requires some new paper.
Swopped a crab for a pencel sharpener.
Great location.

Found it reasonably quickly, but knowing the height certainly made it easier!
No badges left. Took nothing, left aeroplane badge.

Found it reasonably quickly. Thought it might have been one of the trees behind bars, but turned out to be easily accessible. Cheers Gav [175]

Number three for the afternoon. Was easily found and took a badge and left a business card and an owl. Great hiding place.
Second cache today, feeling inspired by the Go for the Groynes. Thanks Sallies, Rod and Margo
Took nail brush ( and a badge for the bike helmet). Left pink dinosaur and a butterfly.

A quick glance at the "nearest caches" page, just in case the Sallies' re-placed RWC has turned up: Yes! There it is, on the top of the list!
Mama Bear was hustled out bed for a quick on-the-run breakfas while Papa Bear pressed the now-unfamiliar buttons of her eTrex.
With this name, in this place, it wasn't the trickiest find we've had! Having found, logged, swapped and replaced, Papa Bear took the GPSr out of his pocket, just for form's sake, and found that we were 183m away from GZ! (Missed it by one digit in the hurry to enter the coords...)
Took nothing (we already had the first badge from the earlier incarnation), left a sports whistle with a compass in it. (Seemed appropriate!)
Thanks for the worm, Sallies!
