looked and looked but did not find
I did love the drive out and I don't mind having to do it again
when some one else finds the cache to confirm it is still there

Attempted with Morgan Ed today with no success. Great spot for cache tho. Little foggy and wet for decent photos. Will be back to try again when we get a nicer day.
A neat drive on a nice day with lots of wind to see the turbines in action. The cache was quite difficult to find as the hint item was almost as well hidden as a the cache itself and the GPS was pointing over the fence about 15-20m away from GZ. However a bit of logic and searching soon revealed the cache. Great spot, TFTC
3306 This cache is certainly worth the long winding road to visit. Mr Geckoh, who loves nothing more than a gravel road to drive on, was in his element. We watched in awe as we approached the huge windmills, quite majestic. We had a screw top container with us, so a quick wrap in black tape and we were off to the cache site to swap over the contents. Although the cache had a large hole in the lid and the plastic was extremely brittle the contents were still in good condition. So all is good again. Thanks very much for the placement, we will add to our favourites!
Claimed for the EA GeoMobbers Forum Quest #7 - A
An interesting drive up to this cache, with an incredible number of wind turbines in the area. A quick easy find, although as a previous finder has said, the hint object has long since gone, and the cache container has a large hole in it. TFTC

Quick find with tmann421 and Hugo the dog. We want one of those wind turbines in our backyard! TFTC.
Found with Barri-Ster & Hugo the dog. Really good location for the cache - quickly found. Container needs lid replacing, but it is in a large plastic bag and ok for now. SL TFTC
Interesting drive, especially after having just done Wharite Peak gc! Had our fair share of hilly gravel roads today, but the views are worthwhile. Took red necklace; left pet rock. TFTC
This cache needs some owner attention, please. There is certainly no windblown tree now, just a few branches overgrown by grasses, and the cache itself has a hole in the lid letting in dampness, slugs etc.
Nice to log this find after driving from the Pahiatua track side through some very difficult terrain and having a DNF with "GC1KAQZ Changing Times". GPS was a few meters out but the hint helped to find although Windblown Tree is more like a stack of branches. SL, left signature item, TFTC.
Certainly did not appear to be any tree around the co-ordinates, so didn't seem to be any point in trying to search a huge area or trees far away from GZ. Had basic look around but did not find. My GPS did not appear to be jumping around like other reports, fairly steady navigation. A neat area, thanks Carla
Didn't enjoy the road to this one much but the views were great! The container has a big hole in the lid and slugs are trying to slide on in, maintenance please!
[Found it after having a look at the wonderful views.] Clue might need to be updated as the tree is no longer there well there are the remnants of it!
Been up here before by bike in '06 before getting into caching, this time it was a car and the weather not the best. GPS played all sorts of funny games near GZ so parked up about 100m short, found cache without difficulty on foot. Evicted the resident slater otherwise TNLN. TFTC
We were just checking up on our nearby Forest Giant cache so what a great opportunity to get this one and drop off TB Mr Oinky. The weather certainly didn't encourage us to do walk-a-bout caches! I'm so glad we did because the views were gorgeous. A small herd of cows also kept us company on the road between the two farm gates.
It was an easy find but a cracked lid let in a bit of water. We popped it in a plastic bag to stop it getting worse. Mr Oinky decided to stay with us a little longer!
- pet rock - measuring tape + big dice + toy car

In by bike from the top of the Pahiatua Track, picking up "Changing Times" along the way. A nice ride on a sunny afternoon, but hard work at times with the wind! Thanks.
Passed by this one while mountain biking along North Range Road with a group from the Manawatu Tramping Club. Checked the cache, and all is OK.
Quite a drive to this one. Last find for the day before the light fails. Great views and not too windy today. Those turbines are quite impressive up close. In Sharpie marker pen, Out bouncy ball
I was mountain biking along here about a month ago and had no idea there was a cache here! Took the easy option and drove to it today, quick and easy find but turning a minibus around on the track took a bit longer and came perilously close to the edge.

Took a while to find Hall Block Rd, as it wasn't on the map we had. However, once that was located, it was an easy find from there. Those wind turbines are amazing!
Took out $necklace &badge. Put in a pet rock - a bug, & a ball.

Carrying out maintenance on behalf of Magooza.
Found with 0paco0, Red and Boots. Replaced logbook which was full and removed lollypop which was wet and sticking to other items (yuck!)
Other than that cache a little damp but in pretty good condition.

Called in on this one after a morning further south chasing 1KAQZ. (Did that one the hard way as I've found in hindsight).
Easy find at a good spot after an interesting trip through the windfarm. Interesting to see the development since I came up here to see the first wind turbines.

We decided to try the Hall Block approach as we didn't have several 4WDs to use (several ???). Amazing views as we got higher and higher up into the hills and started winding through parts of the wind farm that we'd only ever seen from a distance. Spotted our first ever "Caution - lower class of road" sign, and then spotted another car !!! I was going to wave the 60cx at them and grin but I'd have felt too silly if I was wrong about what they were up to, but sure enough when we found the cache there was another visit logged that day.
I think we used about the last blank space in the logbook but along with no swappables we haven't gotten around to carrying spare notebooks
Gary / Keith / Mat / Harley.

Oops looks like I need to add an entry without flagging the cache for maintenance so it gets included in our tally - at these sort of numbers we need every find we can claim
Was an awesome trip up here although the wifes Suzuki Swift is looking a tad dusy now.
Man those turbines are huge up close.

The first find for us in our new home city's backyard.
A wafting gale present (as always?)
The kids really preferred snuggling into the grasses to keep out of the wind.
Took pig and green car
Left tape measure and Crysler 300C
Afterwards found the Beyond the Bridge Cafe which was exceedingly pleasant and not so windy.
Now off to the carwash!

What a neat view of the wind turbines. Will have to come back on a fine day. Windy and rainy today. TNLN.
Found on a mountain bike ride along North Range Road from the cache at Te Rere Hau wind farm (took about an hour at a sedate pace). This cache was lying exposed on the bank and unfortunately the geocoin was not there. Everything else looked to be intact. Have attempted to hide it better. In neck cord and plastic necklaces from New Orleans Mardi Gras. TFTC. It is now possible to drive in a 4WD vehicle all the way along North Range Road from the eastern entrance to the Manawatu Gorge to the Pahiatua Track - a scenic drive!
Quite a while since this one has been found so decide to let th dogs roam here and a suitably named geocoin was left to sunbthe under the manuka and take in the panaramic view.
Nice find quite windy but found easily enough. Awesome road.

We were blown away by the gusty wind and impressive sight of the giant wind turbines. Didn’t realise they were this big and noisy. Thanks for bringing us here.

Not very windy at all today but the big blades keep on turnin' Amazing how they can suck so much grunt out of the wind. Never knew you could come up here, pretty awesome view to see them all.
Nil swapped, many thanks.

we were really almost blown away - around 50knots - the wind park was already cut off.
nice find though!

1040hrs. What a great drive into here. The views were great and stopped on the way back out to take photos. We can see why the wind farm is up here as it was quite breezy.

Seriously cool spot, I love those windmills. Took a mate from work along for the ride - he looked puzzled when I fished the lunchbox out of the scrub, he had pissed the point bof going there completely. Saw a made of version of a Tui billboard down the road a bit "Wump, Wump, Wump, Wump".... "Yeah Right". I like the sound, but maybe not to live near... +-0 TFTC
I love coming onto the ranges were these impressive juggernauts are. The Swish swish sound and their action against the sky are so surreal. Thankyou for the excuse to visit. Watchout for the sting ray in the cache. After all, look what happened to Steve Erwyn.
17:18 Came up here with 2CUL8TR & his two junior cachers. Blown away (sic)... Quickly found & rehid the cache before the boys got there. Will bring others up here - stunning scenery up the hill. Not having seen the wind farms before, I thought it was way cool. Being a boy, I also really enjoyed my quick drive up the windy gravel road...

Nice easy find on another windy day. Low black clouds were gathering but held out until we had investigated the cache site and carried on another few kms along the 4WD muddy track. Seems the North Range Road entrance to this Wind Farm has been shut off (due to roadworks) as we came to a wet, greasy and muddy dead end, way up on a ridge. Fun slipping and sliding everywhere tho. Thank god for the 4WD!! Returned back to whence we came and took photos of the beautiful views that appeared from time to time between cloud breaks. Thank you for making us go up that winding metal track from the Hall Block Road...........always intended too, but never did. Was a great trip.[^]

Found it without difficulty this time unlike the previous time when the long grass made it impossible to find.
Great place to hide a cache!
I noticed lots of comments in the notebook about how windy and cold and miserable it was - seems the engineers who planned a windmill here were spot on, then!
We drove all the way to the cache as it was VERY windy and cold and miserable AND the rain set in with a vengeance! It might be a good place to channel some of the water and start a hydrolake as well.
Pepsi, who is usually keen to have a look around when we are geocaching, told us she'd stay and look after the car.
We have a rule that whoever finds the cache has to put it away again, a logical rule - which got me very wet! Fortunately I was driving, so Red had to get wet opening and closing the gate.
Result 2 drenched people, one dry dog.
- mini pocket knife (cute!)
+ dragonfly

Taking my new jeep for a joyride, drove all but the last 1km. Spotted without problem, nice spot for a cache and for those turbines – was really windy! No trade. Thanks, Sveppi

First to find. Some drive up to the site . Great views to the east and of the windmills. Very !!! windy. Few people around. Saw many slips etc, from the Feb floods on the eastern side. No swop , took TB Travis Trout , will take north to be nearer the Bay of Islands.
