Spend a good 15 minutes looking for this one. Checked in the nearby trees, along every path from a mini intersection, focussing on the ones with less foot traffic; but nothing.
I dare say it's be taken by a hobbit

I headed out today with biggles1024 and Jascat to attend the last of the Yarra Expedition events which had been happening over the last couple of years but along the way we stopped of at a few other caches to see what we could find.
After a DNF on this one last time, we returned for another look but after nothing was found once again the cache was then replaced by Cache Guardians, we were then able to sign the replacement log.
**Thanks to Nutcache for placing this cache and Cache Guardians for keeping it active.**

**Traditional Cache Find #2365**
I headed up to Warburton with SteMicMitSar and Jascat to attend an event as well as find a few local caches. Steve and I had looked for this one earlier this year without success. Today, it was determined that the cache was missing and a Cache Guardian replaced it. Very happy to have found another in this iconic series.

Out this way with Biggles1024 and SteMicMitSar for the last of the Yarra expedition events and picking up some caches along the way. Quite wet under foot getting to this one. It was nice to be able to sign the replacement log.

Lovely area, but the Dead Marches was too wet and not dead at all, teaming with life - The flying, biting kind and the black, wiggling, sucking type

As usual we had some big plans to get a number of caches and there were 4, LR caches on the list, this being the first for today, but as it turned out we were only able to get 1 of the 4 for one reason or another.
We went into the maze to look for this one but it certainly wasn't seen by our eyes so a DNF to start our day.
We went into the maze to look for this one but it certainly wasn't seen by our eyes so a DNF to start our day.
I headed out early this morning with SteMicMitSar in high hopes of finding several members of this series but we got off to the worst possible start with a DNF here. We searched high and low and after around 20 minutes, resorted to PAF but we still couldn't make the find. We will have to return another day.
Got info for Stage 2 - BIKE and calculated coordinates. Got details via photo for RUN. Literally ran to and from these coordinates as geoson had appt nearby and i was late getting back to him.
Totally overgrown! We bush bash for about 30 minutes and there was not a single track that we could
ollow. Yes we actually blazed a trial! GPS 0 m ???to 4 mwe could

So it wasn't at the exact coordinates so have a look around close by. An easy start for our first geocache adventure
School excursion from Cire. Going on an adventure. Nice hide. Beware of the leeches! Wet, nice moss and ferns, tea tree, bracken, hope to see a wombat next time! Thanks for the frog, we exchanged for something magical.

Today I was headed out along with leafotwind on a bit of a maintenance run towards Warburton. The weather was very kind to us and we also made time to find some caches as well.
I had attempted this one several years back with little experience had given up, not wanting to go in there!! This time, despite a back injury, we persevered and managed to get within 4m of the cache before spreading out. I had almost given up when I spotted something that we had both walked past just a few minutes earlier. Happy to say this cache is now loved again.

A bit of a maintenance run and tour of Wharburton and the surrounding areas with ahomburg today. Fantastic weather and a number of wildly different placed (in terms of terrain) caches greeted us. I'll be back in this area in the near future, the picture postcard scenery along with some challenging caches demands it!
A SPECTACULAR effort by the human dozer that is ahomburg in track navigation mode. The vegetation was (at points) higher than face height and it was ahomburg that managed to compress the hell out of it enabling he and I to clamber over it. Once at GZ a search ensued with little luck initially. However the same could not be said for a leech. Indeed after ahomburg drew my attention to it I watched with a mixture of fascination and a little disgust as its body puffed up with my blood. I will now be adding another item to my caching bag, a lighter and possibly a tick remover as well for good measure.
Thankfully this exercise was not in vain as ahomburg wandered off some 10m away from the ostensible GZ and found the cache in a little clearing, as easy as you please. A note for future finders, once at GZ you will more likely than not have to widen the search area and you are most definitely looking for a small clearing and an obviously placed cache. Crawling through the undergrowth is not only not recommended for the possible addition of blood sucking passengers but totally unecessary.
This cache is no longer unloved!

Found in the company of the TallTribe and Clay whose GC name I have forgotten. When we entered the cul-de-sac, we interrupted a few kids who were playing on the road. We parked along the driveway and slightly bush-bashed our way in. Found with my iPhone as my GPSr somehow ended up with no nearby caches loaded. . TFTC

Out on a Friday afternoon grabbing just a few caches before the sun goes down.
Well took such a long time to find the best way into Gz.
But after some puddle jumping we found the cache. Now to find the way out again.
Cheers for the cache

Camping at the Doon Reserve near Yarra Junction with the family on Saturday night. Managed to slip away in the late afternoon on the pretext grabbing a few items for the evening BBQ and grabbed 4 caches along the way. This was the second one and certainly a bit more off the beaten track. Approached from the wrong direction at first and got stranded behind a fence. Next try I encountered a bloke smashing golf balls down the hill into the marshes. He stopped long enough for me to pass and not long after I ditched the car and proceeded on foot. Was lucky to find the right way in and suddenly there it was in front of me.Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache Nutcache. Great to find one as old as this.

Took Longer than we thought because we couldn't find the right track. In the end it was fun but I got leeched. No dead bodies in the marsh and no sign of Frodo. The wet lanyard was still in the cache, no room to swap and no pen! TFTC

Up here for Fathers Day and the 5 Geocousins wanted to look for the closest cache. A bit of a bush bash but we found it easily- it helped that the Geoaunties were familiar with the area and the ground was mostly dry. No swaps in there, just a waterlogged lanyard, so kids were quite disappointed but it was still a fun find. Tftc
Wow, never knew this was just at the back of town, really interesting area but not so easy to explore, even geomutt thought it was a bit suss - spent most of the time hiding behind our legs convinced there were bunyips just round the corner!
One of our last caches for the day and we had to work for it. I am sure we found every road and track that does not lead us to the marsh before we found the right one. We drove down the track until we were at the closest point to the cache according to the gps, getting some very curious looks from the locals as we idled past their back fence. Geoturtle37 wisely decided to stay and mind the geotruck while I donned my wellies and bravely entered into the unknown depths of the dead marshes. I saw a slightly clearer area just inside the boundary, so in I went. After about 20 meters I was thinking a machete would come in very handy, when I realised this couldn't possibly be the right way in 'cos I suspect I was the first human to actually come this way. Ok, time to turn around and head back out. I arrive back on solid land and move along the edge looking for a better place to enter. I am closer to the locals than I would have liked, so I give them a cheery hello before spotting a likely place and disappearing from view. Ah, this looks more promising, a path lies ahead.. Before long I am at the end of the line in the bowels of the marsh, and the cache is in my grasp. Sign the log, slightly damp but not badly, replace the cache and make my way back to the real world. Back to the geotruck, swap gumbies for shoes, give a lonely blood sucker the flick, and our work here is done. Thanks greatly for an excellent, if slightly creepy, adventure, and thanks for the cache. It gets a favorite point from me.
This cache was one of the ones close to my home that I had not yet found. Thanks Day1976 for replacing the container, you beat me to it.
Wandered into the wet and mysterious marches today. It was not hard to locate the container but didn't spend too much time in there. Thanks Nutcache and Day1976

Dropped by today to check on this one as it wasn't in the best of shape when I found it. Having chatted to the CO recently I have replaced the container with one that should prove a lot more water resistant. It is now placed in the fork of a small tree, at the same location.

Love the walk through the marshland. Sick atmosphere!
The box is in need of replacement. There's still a crack and the logbook is not loving life being soaked in the accumulated water.

The cache was found, out in the open.
It appears as though a wild beast has mauled the cache, it's slick, wet, innards spilling out into the marsh.
Very carefully I replaced them as best I could. The lid is a bit the worse for wear. Perhaps a new container, not so susceptible to the ever present ultraviolet radiation would be the way to go.
I don't think that this has suffered at the hands of humans, as I removed the $1 coin. I replaced the cache under a natural cover.
Time for some maintenance here Nutcache.

On our first approach route we found ourselves in a quiet suburban court, where there were a few people doing weekend chores around their houses. We felt a little bit too exposed to the muggles, so we drove around to the other side of the marshes.
With a sense of deja vu (we came here on a wet day sometime last year) we discovered it was an estimated slog of some 160 metres to GZ. It was time to investigate what other avenues were available.
After checking out the satellite view, we found another trail but the access to it was too narrow for our geocruiser so we turned back.
Once we were back on the road we made a left turn and proceeded to drive to within 42 meters of GZ, where I spotted the very narrow 'trail' leading off into the wilderness.
After following the trail as it meandered around, the cache was soon spotted in the open.

One of the first ones we wanted to try on an outing to introduce Newb's GMJarvis. It was raining constantly so the Two Geomum's left respective family's in the car. we were looking for the path less traveled but just could no find it. We spent a good 25 minutes looking we found lots of bones something nearby ate lots of meat! If it wasn't so wet we would have been more productive perhaps? We will be back Thanks anyway

While we were staying at Milgrove with friends for the weekend we took the opportunity to take a walk around the guide camp near by which held some very special memories of happy times for us. We noticed this one nearby which we thought we would check out. As we only had co ords to guide us we parked ourselves near the church but could not see any clear access. The noticed a couple of locals nearby doing some dicey relocation activies and decided to ask for some info. The junior member remembered a track used for the local school track run so I used that. Finally getting within 43 metres of my goal it was still a worry about access. Taking a closer look I noticed a very slim trail entering the very tall reeds. It took no time at all after that. No options in here but a bit spooky. How do you guys find these places. Unfortunately the container was very brittle but I have replaced it where I think it will not get so wet.
It was certainly was my most challenging cache for the day
Thanks for the walk Nutcache.

Good snake country on a hot day but none of the wriggly creatures around today. Container needs replacing. Thanks...
After a previous attempt with Geo-son a few months ago I returned to this one alone and able to search in places that I couldn't take a 4 y/o. Found the cache, not the greatest container. Dropped a new log book in but it won't last long unless the container is replaced.

Our first Geocached Logbook wet through, have taken it home to dry it and out and bring back.
Had brought the waders out for this one knowing the area and reading the logs and really didn't have any problems. Tftc an oldie
Took a while to find my way into this one, not one to do with shorts I would think. SL at 14:00, found it even a bit hard to exit the GZ. TFTC
Last cache of the day and this one was a bush bash. Interesting place to hide a cache an very well hidden. Bring gumboots! Shoes don't cut it in the mud
Missed it by 30 mtrs i don't think shorts & thongs much good for this one. Good hide!!!
Found with Beau_rl. Great fun finding this one, although I was attacked by a blood sucking monster!

Ow finally got it a challenge! Unfortunately the cache was open and all it's innards were exposed found with beckety
On a recent trip to visit family, we found that this cache was 70 meters from their back fence so I had to take the nephew to find it.
OMG!!!! Swamps, Crazy thick bush, blood-thirsty leeches, no GPS coverage.
What kind of sick individual puts a cache in a spot like this?
An evil geocacher thats who!!!
We loved it. I think that the dozen or so leeches also appreciated our visit.

This is a tough one, could only get to within 25 metres of the cache. Will have to give it another go next time I am in the area.
Wow, what a jungle.. this one was a tough find.. I should have trusted my GPS abit better.. there are now some new tracks, however they form more of a circular shape that gets tighter and tighter, Thanks Nutcache for the hide. I tried this one back in January but due to all the wet shubbery I gave up and opted for an easier one.. today it was much drier and I was able to make a somewhat easier find.. TNLN Find # 1068
Whew thankfully to sksjd there was a sort of path if you call a tiny break in the teetree a path and only 3 leeches found one behind my knee I was wearing pants one on my sock and the other was lurking in the cache but thankfully i saw that one thanks alot for this one tnlnsl
WE FOUND IT
Yes this one is still there........
Perfectly intact after such a long time without being found.
Leeches Leeches Leeches they were everywhere.
But in the end they were worth dealing with to find a cache that has been not found for a long time.
Thanks for that one Nutcache just couldn't leave that one without getting it, must finish Lord of the rings.
Once I start just can't leave it half finished. Will continuue to plod along.
Lost my pen along the way wasn't one in the cache so used a old burnt piece of teatree, we use what we must.
no swaps.

Took approach to GZ a couple different ways. Got within 30m of it, but when trying to get closer, so much plant growth, and GPS bouncing from 1m to 15m, got pretty frustrating, so went back to Ute to maybe come back another time.
Hope it's still there! Grrr.

I'm starting to see a pattern in these Nutcache hides, I must remember to pack plenty of band aids! It's good to finally start the LR series, I've heard great things and can't wait to complete the series.

We wondered if this was a wise choice after a weekend involving a fair few bush tough caches but careful navigation (and a good set of maps in OziCE) and we were very close to GZ. Wound our way towards GZ and TR spotted the cache upon arrival

Found 200711251420 . After the challenge of yesterday's Nutcache caches Facitman, Team Rubik and I were very glad to find this one much easier as it required only an 50m or so bush-bash rather than ~400m [:p]

Had an hour to waste in Junction, so walked up to the cache. I enjoy a bit of bush bashing, so this was a good one for me - nice location! Unfortunately my pen ran out while writing in the log book. Didn't do a swap.
Found this one at 16:20 with Alsume after AWG67 nearby. It was my second attempt today. The problem wasn't so much finding the cache, it was trying to find the way to get to the cache .
TNLNSL. Thanks Nutcache.

Found with Eudes at approx 4:30pm after circling the area looking for a way in. Fortunately the coords were pretty good or we would never have found it - and maybe never have found our way out! Makes me wonder how you ever came up with this location.

This cache would only be put here by someone called "Nutcache" - most unladylike logging but thanks anyway.
Found with Rob and Chewin' in the depths of the night.
Great fun was had following the "tracks".

Seems like ages since we did a Lord of the Rings theme cache
At night we struggles a bit going towards the cache, but fortunately the co-ords were spot on (heavy sigh of relief).
Thanks, Robmc.

Felt like the proverbial dog in the bush so thick he couldn't bark in it. A eerie place to be in the dead of night but as Robmc said the co-ords were spot on.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Found today with Oenze on our trip to Warburton. I am doubting anyone ever has made a poorer fist of this one. We wallowed about for ages seemingly making no progress in the swamp gaining wet feet and exhaustion into the bargain and one leech. Anyway we found the cache which was the main thing and found a ridiculously easier way out. Thanks nutcache.
Find # 1560 and the 13th of the day at 1:49pm . Accompanied by Feathertop to Warburton and beyond. We took what we thought was the way in but it turned out to be quite a rough and long way in, we sure had to work for this one. TNLN, Signed Log,

Had tried this one in March ,but couldnt find the way in.Another attempt today and found the secret trail. After a "house of mirrors' trek, finally got to GZ and the treasure was there.Glad this wasnt a summer attempt!!!!Dont think the cache will ever vanish either. Thanks to Nutcache.TNLN.
I checked in on this one today and even though all traces of the track in to the cache have vanished, the cache is still in the place where it was put. No leeches today but I was watching for snakes as it was fairly dry and very overgrown.
Unfoutunatley didnt find it.
We looked high and low but i think its gone (4 good)
We may come back some time
THanks

Drove in the obvious apprach from the map, put on the expedition boots (unnecessary as it turned out) checked out the possible approaches to gz, found the geotrail, and found the cache in its obvious spot without any dramas. The cache lid was off but everything seemed to be ok. T frog, L something I can't decipher! To those thinking aobut this one, if you use common sense and look before you leap, this one is not hard at all.
Found mid afternoon while family shopped locally. It was a fairly difficult hike in and out and leeches were out in force. Picked them off signed log got out of there as quick as possible.

Well, I tried, but had no luck locating the cache, the GPSr wasn't behaving. After picking off some leeches, I've decided that I'm not going to attempt this one again until I get some waders.
