tftc was second guessing where the hell it was but sure enough something caught my eye
My objective for today was simple, to find my geocache find number 6666. However, I had a number of other side tasks too. To collect more clues for the 'Nice Day for a Cache' and the '13th Cache'. To find more caches to help with challenges I am working on. Specifically, oldies, multicaches, a DT of 2.5/2.5, and of course an Event and CITO on this month and on the 25th. A good day out with no DNFs, 4 Lab locations, and 26 geocache finds.I had time for 1 more geocache before needing to head to the event. Parked as close as possible, which reduced the walking time, but it was still a 1 kilometre walk. Lovely walk, it was too.I had these coordinates bouncing between 8 and 13 meters out, but I didn't even start looking until I found 'the item', and then it was an easy find right nearby.Once enjoying the walk back to the car, I discovered 2 Kookaburras that just seemed to walk to see what I was doing, and they kept pace with me all the way back to the car. See attachments. Thanks for the cache, Rabbitto.Hunter
Phew! That was tricky even when we were sure we had found the natural object!
How lovely to be able to find a geocache on a rostered day off hiking for me in these beautiful parts.Geocache is safe and sound but was a little exposed hanging out of its host. I have pushed it back in a bit further for safety. The natural object next door is very impressive. And I do know what it is.TFTC Rabbitto
Fairly easy find but picked up a few leeches getting this one. So it wasn't my favourite haha. Tftc all in good condition.
GPS was flicking around a lot so a kept an eye out for an Object and soon found the cache. My GPS was out 8 metres.
This cache was found after a Knox U3A bird watching walk at nearby Grant's Picnic Ground. The track to GZ was quiet - only one other walker seen and a quick find once at the posted coordinates. Thanks to Rabbitto for the cache.
GPS was way off went to investigate the obvious but missed finding the cache as it's no longer a regular. Had to return for a second more thoroughly search before finally finding the cache. Thoroughly enjoyed my walk in this reserve today.
Beautiful afternoon for a walk in the forest. We enjoyed the search for this one though there were a few leeches! TFTC
Had a decent look, but in the dark I couldn’t make out any landmarks that I was supposed to be looking for, will be back another time
Thanks for the cache Rabbitto, it's Friday afternoon and I've just finished a gruelling 4-day week for the second week in a row I'm exhausted physically and emotionally, time for some green time. There is nothing better than a quiet meander in the bush to relieve my stress. An added reward is a cache, found after a quick search all I have to do is pull my pen out of my pocket and sign the log. My pen?, where is it! must have fallen out when I pulled out my phone. GRRRRR#$@&&$##$!!!!! It's ok, take a deep breath, I've been in the situation before all I have to do is find a bit of burnt tree and sign in charcoal. I looked around, I walked around, there must not have been a fire in this area in 100 years, no charcoal. AHGRHRRRR$#@&$###!!!.
Anyhow if you're looking for my signature on the log there is a brown smudge of clay into which I attempted to etch my name.
I'm off to see my therapist.
Regards from Victourer

Found the cache near the very interesting ‘structure’. Took the TB and dropped another.
Thanks for placing the cache Rabbitto.

I was out this way today on a bus driving job. After dropping the group, I headed out on the MTB for some nearby caches.
There was a crew engaged in dangerous tree removal on the main track, but they waved me through.
A short way down the side track, and I started looking for what the object could be.
Aha, that might fit the description.
Sure enough, close by, a nicely tucked away container.
Puzzle piece image acquired, log signed and replaced.

I couldn't get a good GPS signal here but spotted the object and made a quick find. Cheers
Quite a March to GZ here. Juggling coffee phone and egg n bacon roll i marched off then remembered the bike in the back of the Ute.
Spent a few minutes pondering the structure then another few not finding the cache and grumbling. Haha. There it is.

Out on a 4 hour hike today of the Sherbrooke Forest and surrounds and to grab a few caches on the way
Find #3 in the series. Spotted 'the object' which made for a quick find
Making my way in was easy, making my way out, not so easy as the track is not obvious from GZ
However no obvious damage done to the bush and fortunately no snakes sighted!
Many thanx to Rabbitto

During a pleasant morning walk in the sunshine before the heat had arrived, we went for a wander through this park. There was plenty of shade and a slight breeze flowing through that made for ideal conditions. We wandered along this smaller track, and after a brief search the container was soon found.
Thanks to Rabbitto for placing this cache.

Out this way again as this is still close to home.. I don’t think I’ve ever gonna finish the lockdown. next week we are open to all of Victoria, so I might be a little while before I get back up here and do my local area. I am looking forward to seeing all the Victoria again. I can’t wait. I love this Cache. I love that you are showing me all of the place close to my home that I haven’t been to before. thanks for placing
*Found on the 7 Mar 2020 @ 5:12 pm.*
*Cache find # 10788.*
I have been working through this series for many years now and as I was targeting members of the first 500 today, I had to have a look for this one.
It was a pleasant stroll to GZ, once there I did do a few laps of the area before the cache was discovered.
I think this is the final one that I needed to find for this series.
**Thanks to Rabbitto for placing this cache.**

Out for a walk with DebW64 on a beautiful Saturday morning, we were really impressed with the great tracks on the circuit, and all the friendly smiles from fellow walkers.
Thanks for another reason to see a new part of Vic Rabbitto

Very pleasant here today. A nice walk, log signed and back to the car. Tftc.
Our GPS certainly wasn’t playing nicely in this area, so we resorted to finding the object. Even that took us awhile, but once spotted, it was pretty clear we were on the right track. Log signed and replaced, then a leisurely stroll back to the car. Now onto the next one.
Thanks Rabbitto. Thoroughly enjoying this series.

Up at Grant’s Picnic ground on Grand Final Eve. Heaps of people up here but all quiet at GZ. Appreciated the obvious location although I was determined to make things harder than necessary at first before returning for a closer look where I started.

Took a while to find the object but once we saw it we quickly had the cache in our hands. Tftc
Playing around training with #teamgeorgetraining and the team decided to try Geocaching and took a bit of searching but we found it
The lightbulb flicked on when we saw the natural feature. A nice quick grab in the cold. TNLN and didn't sign the log for a lack of prior preparation (we didn't have a pen). TFTC
It took Jules6 and I a while to find gz. Satellites not helping much. We spotted it from a way off and knew that was it. Thanks Rabbitto
A nice meander from the Carpark at Grant's picnic ground . Arrived at GZ but couldn't figure out what the natural object was . Eventually found it after widening our search . Thanks Rabbitto
After spending time at the dragons’ nests with the family on a sunny Good Friday (and logging a few caches), I made it back to grants picnic ground with some daylight to spare... so I thought I’d do just one more cache. Hiked down to pick this one up. It’s the first I’ve done in this series, so guess I’ll have to find more to find out what the puzzle piece means. TFTC
How amazing that this object still exists since first publication. A really nice walk out here, in which the rain soon cleared. Aysen was smashed, and zonked in the backpack. Great series - f'd if know what to do with all these puzzle pieces tho!
Out for the day hiking and driving around the Dandenong Ranges with some great mates, with the main aim of tackling the rest of this "13th Cache" series.
I'm familiar with that 'object' near GZ - we saw heaps of them back in Africa. Quite unusual in this area, though.
Thanks, Rabbitto.

Pac-Man and I weren’t sure what “the object” was and were looking around for a little before we realised. Quickly found and signed after that. Trackable dropped in this one. Started raining as we did this one and walked back to the car getting wet- given how beautiful this place is though, I’m not complaining TFTC
Lots of thorny things and mosquitos around
but in the end the cache was found.
but in the end the cache was found.
Spent 20 minutes stumbling around trying to follow description / hint. Gave up, went back to path, decided to ignore everything but coordinates... And voila! Still puzzled by description and hint, though.
Today was one of those cooler mid-Summer days that are not to be wasted with staying at home.
The family decided that Hiking from Grants Picnic Ground down and around the big loop was the aim today so we headed off in search of some caches.
For a wonder this cache showed itself to us very quickly. This was the last cache of the day and so we headed back to the car to be dive bombed by parrots looking for a feed.
Cheers Rabbitto, thanks for the fun.

After checking out the nearby virtual cache at the National Rhododendron Garden, we had some lunch in Olinda and then had a wander around the shops. Now on our way home, we stopped off occasionally to take a few short walks and find a few more cool caches. One more from this series before hometime. Thanks for the cache Rabbitto.

An early start saw me out at Grants Picnic Ground, to continue this series.
I parked next to the turnaround and had a pleasant stroll down to GZ.
From there it was time to do the GPSr dance.
Finally I had a read of the cache page and began looking for "the object of interest".
When I spotted it, I realised I had been within a few metres in the beginning.
Satellites had me 10X, 12X, 26X, ah, you get the idea.
Thanks for the cache and the series Rabbitto.

Easy find once gps settled, be careful when walking around this site a number of holes have been dug and then become overgrown with undergrowth, better half steped in one and fell, all ok nothing broken just pride. I almost did the same when leaving with another hole well hidden.
Dad and son found a break between the showers and made our way to the hills. We’ve been working our way through this series in recent weeks and now have all the potential locations!
Plenty of bird-feeders at Grants this morning but we parked a little way down the track and made our way to the gz without disturbing anybody.
Feathered friend laughed at us
For a little while and we passed a few hikers headed the other way, before discovering the cache and gratefully signingthe log.
Really enjoying this series so far; now to map out some possible locations for the final. Tftc

Trying to finish off this series, and have taken the opportunity of a few spare hours this afternoon to try and grab a few. Found this one next to the object of concern (a termite mound I believe) and was quickly on my way, TFTC!
Have seen plenty of these objects in more northern climes - we know exactly what it is! Cache is in good condition. TNLNSL. Thanks for bringing us here!
Out on a family day. Visited where we had our wedding photos done 12 years ago. Got within 24m and sent hubby in woth geoboy. He started to do circles so i went in and i found very quickly. Thanks for the cache.
Found it eventually, no thanks to jumpy GPS on Phone. Thanks for encouraging a pleasant evening stroll with geohusband. TFTC
I have tried to find this cache before, and had been unsuccessful, but I tried again and found it! The GPS was a bit off, by about 10m so took me a bit to find, but the clue helped. Found my first trackable in the cache as well, which was exciting.
Found it and the boys enjoyed finding their Poppy on his trackable adventure.
Safe travels Dad I'm sure you are here with us in spirit.

I am pretty sure I was at the right spot - the object, the *hint*, the geotracks, 15 m offset too, but no cache!
Thank for forcing. Walk or three into me today, I love this area. TFTC Rabbitto
Our for a quick hike with the Geokid. Coords were also a bit out for us also but found it quickly with the clue. Swapped TB's over and noted the puzzle piece. TFTC
Having found some of this series a while ago it was time to try and progress some more. It is now the morning of the next day and we are tracking down the clues for the 13th cache.
We left the car at the last cache parking spot and took a different track. A few muddles and sections of mud. We soon turned off to the lesser track and then went bush. The GPSr was bouncing and then we saw a likely object 20m away and headed over for a quick find after checking a couple of spots. We noted the puzzle piece, signed and re hid. TFTC

Find #1106
I've been past this one on two previous occasions only to find that the cache was MIA. This time I again took the detour from my planned walking route to find it was finally there. Yay! Dropped a TB that I've had for a while. TFTC!

After two DNFs - one the night before and one just up the hill - I was looking forward to actually finding something.
I did guess the feature correctly here, can't think of where else nearby I've seen one similar though.
Spotted the feature from the path, went over to it, found the cache very shortly thereafter. Nice easy find, nice to find something.
Beautiful morning for a walk, continued down the hill and up and back to Grant's, clearing many (too many) spiders' webs out of the way for any later walkers.
Thanks for the cache.

Interesting object, absolutely baffled trying to guess what it may be. Nice find while out for a quick arvo walk after lunch
If I was to start this log like the CO I'd say "this cache was the first and only cache on our Let's See How Many Leeches We Can Collect Tour of Sherbrooke". However, I am not the CO so instead I'll start it the way I normally would and say "What the heck is that object? And how was it built? Human or animal?". We had heard the rumour that dragons had landed in Sherbrooke Forest and built huge nests. So we were on the hunt for the elusive beasts this afternoon. They are on the other side of this forest area but we had to collect a keen walker along the way. She had walked up here from my place in Upper Gully and the nearby car park was our meeting spot. The three kids in the car had waaaaayyyyyy too much energy after a rainy morning couped up inside, so I decided to run them down to this cache while we waited for my walking friend. The cache was found easily enough. I must admit that I did consult the hint since my kids seem to almost go into an allergic anaphylactic shock at the mention of the word "geocache". I had to make this quick or risk having a riot on my hands. The kids posed for a quick pic next to the "thing" and then as we were walking out through the scrub I noticed that the boys legs were covered in very thick wriggly leg hairs. Puberty had hit just a tad early!! Uh Oh....they were leeches. Lots of leeches. Skinny ones, fat ones, ridiculously large ones....all shapes and sizes. The kids were panicking as I beat the little blighters off their legs with a stick. I'd hate to think what any onlookers thought I was up to!!
We did end up finding the dragons nests and had a lovely afternoons walk in Sherbrooke. Attached a couple of pics.

Keen to knock off this series after starting it a few years ago and I seemed to make this one the hardest to locate so far as I wandered around in circles waiting for my gps to make up its mind, I finally relied on the hint and after eventually finding the right object I soon had the cache in hand. Thanks Rabbitto for the cache and the walk in the quaint area.
#478 - 7.40pm
Arrived at Grant's Picnic Ground amid much activity. Walks, barbecues and parrot feeding was in full swing. The rosellas were most social. It's hard to believe that until today, I'd never known of its existence!
I raced the last of the daylight to have an easier search at GZ and set off down the picturesque track. Made a futile detour at a nearby smiley... forgot I'd have no phone reception! Oh well, back to my real target. And again, no phone reception! Managed to get just enough to eke out the cute clue.
It was a relief to sign the newish logbook. All is well with the cache.
Thanks again Rabbitto for introducing me to another beautiful place.
