Logs

10-Dec-09
Just logging TB trough from previos find.

03-Dec-09
No time to deal with caching anymore, I also havent cached myself for over 5 years.
And I have had it with rude emails.

So all my caches are now dead.
I will be removing any active as time permits.

09-Nov-09
Couldn't find, I gave up after reading the comments. Possibly gone?

31-Oct-09
A check would be in order

23-Oct-09
On a walk from Domestic to International I stopped off at this nice spot to try my luck. No luck today. Checked GZ, the coords suggested in the logs and the ( not so helpful clues) - but no find. Next time I have plane waiting time to kill!

09-Oct-09
Have been out of the saddle for a while but a late call from hanjac convinced me not to leave without a least one cache. Found my way to the area but the Oregon didnt reveal enough logs to see the updated co-ords that were talked about. The whole area has been regrassed and the area under the big trees has new bark around it so not sure if it was a 5am issue with me or it has gone. As always I dedicate my DNF's to hanjac.

05-Oct-09
Well the good news is the pipeline works seem to have finished. The bad news is that even with the updated coords I was about 30 metres away from any trees and behind a picnic table full of muggles. That's not going to work for me. Checked the likely looking nearby tree but came up blank. Must be missing something here!

Found this one with below co-ords almost gave up due to big fence but still found it accessable even at night tftc

13-Jul-09
Found easily with the help of The Lost Postatoes co-ordinates.

01-Jul-09
Dropped by to nab this but couldn't get any where near GZ unless I wanted to go for a swim. May be able to scramble along the rocks but this would no doubt raise suspicions from the workers inside the desalination work site.
My big question is how did the previous finder access this cache when it is well and truly behind the big fence and possibly inside the work zone.
Maybe the owner could go check this out.

29-May-09
Tried for this one before picking up my sister from the International Terminal. Unluckily it seems to be well behind the area that is fenced off for the pipeline work to do with the desalination plant. It might still be accessible from the water on a weekend but otherwise it seems to be offline.

16-May-09

I tried this one at night on the way to pick someone up from the airport, so I was in a bit of a rush and couldn't see much. I also wish I'd read the previous log with the updated coords. After a quick scan of the area, I decided to move on.....

24-Apr-09
Found cache no problem but I agree with Geomatica that the Co-ordinance below drop you straight on GZ

I hate rock hides, and the first time I tried this cache I tried without out a gps , silly me. All up, even if the coordinates are out, the best clue to go by is the proximity to the fence. tftc

11.30am. 1st of 14 for the day! yay!

Muggle rubbish in the area made it a bit tricky to pick the cache, but found with some persistence and relying on the hints of previous cachers..

Great location, I love seeing my local 'hood being returned to the public as green space! [^]

15.50.... I was going to give it up but sevabo was so stubborn and determined to find this cache. Yes she finally found it. It took us for a long while around and the cache was further than one metre down than what co-cord showed..... TFTH SL Smile

02-Nov-08
Found it with skyejam as we determined to walk around the outside mesh wire fence and found path to the rocks and water. find it at GZ, just one metre down from path or fence. Thanks for bringing us there. Big Grin

27-Oct-08
I think that the cache size needs to be upgraded to small as when most people see micro, they think magnetic.

27-Oct-08
Also had a look today but the construction work was going on and so couldn't get to it.

27-Oct-08
Finally, thank God.

After 3 attempts at this I finally got good sat coverage. I don't know what it is, but when ever I go near the Airport I get crap SV reception.

Got to about 5m from the posted coords and started searching. After about 20 minutes, I was CIH (Cache In Hand Razz).

I have to say that I had better luck with:
S 33d 55.946
E 151d 09.673

The cache is also not located within the construction site. It is no more that 1m from the current position of the mech wire fence.

The cache is looking a little tired. I found it with the lid off. Cleaned it all up as best I could signed the log and was on my way.

26-Oct-08
The GZ appears to be inside an area fenced off for construction of the Desal' pipeline. Lets hope the cache will still be there when construction is complete.

17-Oct-08
Was confused by someone saying there was better co-ords in the logs. Plus the fences and work in progress didn't help. Will try again.

nice straight forward cache found this one with ease TLNL thanks for the cache

An easy find on a beautiful day; the cache was under the spot where I placed Gizmo down.

Cheers

20-Sep-08
Found this one with Hoojar and geodog Ding. At first we didn't think that we could get gz due to the construction but Hoojar led the way. Ding was keen for a swim but we distracted him enough. Easy find with the correct co-ords and size as posted in previous logs.
Got the best picture of Ding smiling yet.
TNLN
Cheers.

13-Sep-08
Managed to get to gz ok, and then using the alternate coords found the cache without much drama. Did think that I was a tad lucky though! TFTC.

13-Sep-08
Well thanks to the new co ords we found the cache!!!!! No tree, no road, lots of rubbish and a small container!!! Nice view, nice weather, lots of friendly people walking by all made for a good find. TFTC TNLN SL

09-Sep-08
Found at last, with the new spot on co-ords, thanks a bundle Damo! TNLN, TFTC.

09-Sep-08
Owner please update the co-ordinates to roughly S33 55.945 E151 09.674 and change the cache size to small. Log book / note also needs replacing by someone if possible. I also could see the tree which is referenced in the listing notes. A lot can change in 4 years. Smile

08-Sep-08
22:00 Initially I was concerned that I may not be able to get to the GZ as I approached, but then I was glad I couldn't as I would have been very wet! I concur almost exactly with Damo's log for the correct co-ordinates to be these: S33 55.945 E151 09.674 (2.5m accuracy). This is about 9m on the dry side of the listing. You'd think they could have been updated in the last 3 years, but hey. Log needs replacing and yes, this is definitely a small sized cache, not a micro. There is also no tree, not sure when that disappeared. Smile Took nil, left a purple monster.

07-Sep-08
The posted co-ords for this cache are out, check Damo's log for the correct ones, they are spot on.
When I got to GZ four fisher persons were literaly sitting on top of it. 'To cache or not to cache, that was the question', well I decided to cache and explain what caching is about to them. They were interested, and quite reasonable people, not all people are muggle maniacs...
I doubt that the pipeline will effect the cache, also this is really a small, not a micro cache. TFTC, TNLNSL.

02-Sep-08
Failed, AGAIN! could you check on it, I am worried that it has been disturbed by all the activity going on with the desalination and all? If it is there, could you give me a hint? Also, my GPS seems to want to hop into the river, maybe co-ords are wrong. of course, it could always be the hard to face fact that I am a terrible Geocacher Sad

30-Aug-08
A nice easy find. We were extra careful when searching for the cache. The GPS was leading us a bit astray though, maybe it felt like a swim. Didn’t expect a container like that to be a micro. Thanks Effrem for the adventure.

27-Aug-08
Found quickly at night.

26-Aug-08
Took about 15 min to find (most of it trying not to put hand in hidey holes, yech!). Hope the cache lasts as a fair bit of work is being done here as part of the Desalination plant from Kurnell.

Nothing too exciting here but found the cache nonetheless without any trouble- glad to have finally knocked this one off the list.

26-Jul-08
Was close to this one and decided to have a go, despite the last DNF. Upon arriving at GZ I thought I would have no show with this one as there is a construction fence right in the area of GZ. But on closer inspection the fence didnt lead right out to GZ so a path was found. Spent about 15 minutes looking for this one as coords were a bit out and was rewarded with a find. Cache is a bit damp but otherwise in tip top condition.

Found with Bushy2233 on our second attempt using coordinates from Taje00. The published coordinates will send you swimming.
Unfortunatly this place is filthy, rubbish everywhere and it stinks!! Very disapointed in the people who use this park, as it has has so much potential.

got this on the way home from work with frippy on damos cords this place must be very well used due to the amount of rubbish left on the ground...

30-Oct-07
Came at 310pm used DAMO's coordinates as I came in the morning the week before on the way to work but the coord's were sending me into the water didn't have enough time to search through the rubbish so decided to come back another day. found the cache within a few minutes TNLNSL, TFTC.

26-Oct-07
I had been here once before, but encountered huge crowds of picnickers. Returning on a work day I hoped I would fare better, but my heart sank as I entered a surprisingly full carpark. I don't know where they all were but there was nobody to be seen in the picnic area and I was able to make a quick find.

01-Oct-07
didn't try really, too many muggles.

01-Oct-07
We didn't brave the rubbish for this cache, as there was a family having a picnic nearby. Nice views from GZ.

There were a few people around but the birthday party nearby proved a good distraction from what we were doing. Quick grab and log after a search that took longer than it should have - today we will blame the hangover for this! TNLN.

18-Jul-07
Ahhhhh - this was much easier on a weekday - I returned after my non attempt on Sunday to find the park empty except for 2 bike riders when I arrived and 2 walkers as I was about to return the cache to it's hidey hole.
The co-ords wanted to take me for about a 10m swim, but I resisted & figured the difficulty & terrain rating didn't warrant that, so I decided to stay dry. The cache was found after a quick look, log signed and returned to it's place. No swaps, as I wasn't expecting a micro quite that big.

15-Jul-07
This is NOT a cache to do on a lovely Sunday Afternoon. Gizmo took me to the park, and I have never seen so many muggles in the one spot at the one time. A quick decision was made to abort the hunt without even getting out of the car. We will be back for this one another day.

Thought this cache was a victim of storm surge. After searching for about 10 minutes I found as leaving. Cache is a bit damp but all good. TFTC

04-Jun-07
I searched a little wider for this at first. Should have noted the terrain rating. Easy find in the end. I'd probably wouldn't rate this as a wheelchair cache as you woul dhave to leave your chair to get it. The cache is also a bit bigger than a micro (which is to our advantage). TFTC.

BTW - What is that black ooze below and are the oysters safe to eat here? [xx(]

Quick find as I was passing through the area. Some lovely bbq's happening nearby. Can you eat the local oysters?

Dropping my brother off at airport on his way to NZ, grabbed a couple of caches on the way back. a fairly easy find after a few minutes search. My GPS was showing GZ in the dring too, but the hiding place is pretty sensible.

Thanks for the find. TNLN. Merry Christmas!

10-Dec-06
Too many muggles enjoying picnics in the area so we decided to leave this for another time.

Went looking for this cache while waiting for a plane to Geelong.
Our GPS pointed out in the water.
Searched in what seemed to be Sydneys public toilet and garbage dumping place without finding anything that looked like a cache. Had to leave so we didn't miss the plane.

Beautiful park for the Geokiddies. Suprised ourselves by finding this one fairly quickly. Looked like it could be a needle in a haystack. Don't give up. Left TB and magnet.

The youngest member of our team managed to find it - he was overjoyed. If you hunt for the cache on a Sunday and have geokids with you, make sure you pass by the model car competition race track just about 200 metres northwest from the cache along - it's a lot of fun to watch.

The original log sheet is full, there is a blank page where people now log their visit but the cache for sure deserves a proper new log sheet.

Driving past this morning, stopped for a look. A cool, windy Sydney morning ensured no people around, so I was able to find the cache quite quickly. It's definitely a spot to come back to with the kids!

Thank you for the cache Effrem! Nice park with a great playground for the Geokids. Found within minutes. Can't tell you how many times we've stopped by though, but there was always a muggle fishing right over the cache site. This morning with a frigid wind blowing (it was 10C) there wasn't a "sole" around! The cache wasn't under a tree, but with the co-ords from Mooball and Damo, we knew approximately where to look. Thanks Mooball and Damo! TNLNSL

This was a cache I decided to visit on the way back home. I looked on my car navigator and saw there was this one a little off route and thought I would give it a go. I found the same thing, the coords were in the water. Upon checking the logs on my return home I see damo's entry, I will go back and give it another go next week. I may have found it if I persevered, but it was starting to get cold, it's been a miserable day and it was well and truely dark. Better luck next time.

I found this cache after a little searching. Decided to try my 2nd cache in the dark. Armed with only my GPS and a lighter, for a while i thought i had set the bar too high for myself. Just as i was about to head home i stumbled upon it. TNLN. Nice hide!!

Happy Birthday to you,
HBTY,
Happy Birthday Dear Cache,
HBTY.

OK, so we are a month late but at least the day is correct (and we noted it was actually hidden 8 days earlier than it's "official" birtday)

Sometimes it's better to do it with the lights on! At 5.30 there were no muggles around and the lights in the nearby park were all on. Mooballs co-ords (see log entry below)were spot-on and they led us exactly to the correct rock. We had to do only a one-rock-hop to successfully retrieve the cache with the aid of our trusty torch. It was nice to have a nearby shelter with seats and a table to fill in the log sheet, sit down for a while and relax. Left torch/whistle TN.

NOTE: The logsheet is now almost full with room for only a couple of more entries. No pen/pencil - we'll try to place something as soon as we get a chance.

27-May-06
NO FAIR!!! I got to this cache at 5.00 but someone else beat me to the log. Must have missed them by only a few minutes. Fun to find. Thanks to Damo for correct coordinates. Took nothing but left sinker (Which i found while looking for cache).

As already said, log needs replacing. Will add a needs attention log as well.

This is the second attempt at this one. The first time it was at night and not the best time to be looking for this one... there would have been no chance of finding it with out a torch. However, I returned this evening on dusk and found it after trying not to look suspicious with all the muggles walking along the foreshore getting some excercise. TNLNSL.

No 5 in the "Get my daughter from the airport" series.

Searched for a tree near GZ but found nothing. I have to agree with Damo's listed co-ordinates (spot on - 10 skygods with an EPE of 3). Have been past here once before to try and find it but there was a communal BBQ going on that prevented any searching whatsoever so this time was easy. No-one anywhere nearby and only 1 fisho about 300m away.

Success at last. Came by to find some observers sitting at the tables meters away facing me so had to come back later. The listed coords were indicating 10 meters (out in the water) from where I did find the cache. For what it's worth, I took a wp with a solid lock on 9 sats.
Thanks for the cache Effrem.

Found at 9:15am before the picnicers started to arrive. There was a power walking race on the track nearby but the walkers were too involved in their walking to worry about me. Nice spot on a cool summer morning. TFTC.
