This was our first cache and we are very disappointed to see it go, we would be happy to adopt it for you and take care of it.

05-Sep-10
The 3blackducks are right, the council has removed all bush to where the cache was. I am not sure if it will still be there, so the owner should do some maintenance for sure.

05-Sep-10
As noted already today, the council was doing more clearing at the site as we went past. There are now no bushes left.

We went past here today and saw that the Council were doing some work around here and i think the owner should just check the cache is still in contact.

The really cold wind and rain kept the muggles away as I tracked down this great cache. Took nothing and left a toy soldier. TFTC.

Thanks to Muzza this was more a puzzle than a multi-cache :bad: Interesting what's just standing next to street I passed by so many times.

Met some other cachers at GZ - did the puzzle and quickly had the cache in hand Smile

17-Jul-10
#2 We got to the GZ and quickly figured out the coordinates for the cache. But that's where it all went wrong as the GPSr kept showing us to go to a totally different direction than where the cache actually was. We looked and looked. Fortunately Grassikids turned up and helped us find this cache. Thank you Grassikids!!!
I took the garden yarn and left a card.
I don't think I had ever even noticed that statue before, so it was really nice to stop there and now know what it is all about. TFTC! A lovely one!

Parked very closeby(!) to gather the clues, then found the cache quickly 2 meters from the car! I wish they were all this easy. Some interesting history here, many thanks for teaching me about this colourful character. Cheers!

Found @ 4.55pm, #256.
2nd of two caches found while in the progess of doing another multi-cache.
Arrived at GZ, got all the numbers,( alot of them), did the sums, went for a short walk and retrieved the cache from its hiding spot.
A nice quick multi-cache.
TFTC.

Probably the most numeric information I've had to get for a GC puzzle yet. Having missed the nearby parking first time around, I thought I was in luck stopped at the lights and able to get the information then and there but there is vital information you need to get that isn't visible from the street. Once obtained the cache was an easy find. TNLNSL TFTC

Very Happy Our first find ever.
The kids were sooooo wrestless this morning and I was looking at my instructables email and say a post on Geocaching. I thought this would be a good distraction for them so I came to this site and found the closest point I could. I got everyone together and we started walking to the statue. Amazingly, someone had marked in the log just 15 minutes before we found it!! We pondered what to add/take, but ended up leaving as it was + plus log entry. Lots of fun!

Found this morning at around 7am whilst on a run. Not much traffic about on a Sunday morning. Did the clues for this one a while ago. Knew roughly where it would be and found it without the GPS. Thanks for this one. Nice hide in a highly visible and busy spot. TNLN.

18th of January, 2010
New to the official world of caching but have been involved since 17th of April 2009 (my first cache find). But have only just gotten a log name. Time to log all the wonderful caches that I have been finding since I have been caching with The Empire. My name in the log book is H.
All I can say about this cache...Time to get sneaky!

Thanks again Dak - RIP

On the way back home from the Halloween event in the company of Robmc, we stopped and grabbed a few that I hadn't yet done..
Found the numbers and made the calculations. Just as we started looking for the cache the heavens opened up and we had to make the dash back to where we parked the car for cover!
Didn't know if the rain would let up we waited for our chance... Deciding to park a little bit closer - just in case it started raining again we re-commenced our search.
My co-ordinates were still a little out?, but soon I had the cache in hand in a place that Robmc had already looked.

Thanks dak's Emu Mob for the cache.

I enjoyed this cache - it involved a bit of history and only a short stroll. I'd not heard of this Sir Bent chap, so it was educational as well. He was wearing a St Kilda FC cape, which is no doubt a remnant of grand final week. That gave me a laugh and almost brought a tear to the eye.

What a man! He certainly was entrenched in Victorian politics at both the local and state level. I'd like to think that throughout his long career he was able to accomplish some positive things for the people of Victoria.

All the data was collected and the GZ quickly collected and a find made at 15:40. Many thanks to The Rebel Alliance for keeping this long-standing cache going.

Another of Dak's caches found at 3:20 pm.
I remember when this statue was in its different place nearby, and I think a few houses had to go as well, to make room for the widening of the Nepean Highway.
An easy find, but highly visible to peak traffic muggles!

I'd tried this one back in November ‘08. Arriving at GZ during that visit, I got spooked by the multitude of passing traffic - another time I thought! Anyway, I'd reckon that this night of the week was probably gonna be the quietest of them all, so I headed back to GZ and made the quick grab - no need for GPSr this time, I'd remembered the 'spot' from my previous visit! TNLN & SL at 9:25pm. Thanks dak and the Rebel Alliance for the cache – our 950th find. Regards, 38degsouth.

Have been looking forward to doing this cache, considering the history behind it. Was out on a Good Friday bike ride today, so gave this one a go. It's probably worth pointing out that Bentleigh derives its name from this very character, so it was only appropriate to do this cache after going nuts there (see GCPTWJ). Only downside is that all the traffic whizzing by makes for a not so pleasant amenity. No breaks in the traffic so I just had to pick a moment where the motorists hopefully weren't looking my way (and the usual bit of stealth, pretending to retrieve a container from my backpack).

Took the TB. Thanks for keeping this history lesson alive.

21-Mar-09
An interesting history lesson, which, I presume, explains quite a few Bent Streets, including one not far from my home coordinates. After collecting the required information, it was just a matter of meandering a short distance and telling myself that I was virtually invisible -- yes, really -- to the hordes of muggles zooming past. I left the Chevy TB, because there seemed to be the odd one or two throaty roars that I thought it might like to hear in amongst the engine sounds rushing by. Thanks dak and the Rebel Alliance.

11.40am.my 4th cache in australia i have found on my own using the hire car to get about.my what alot of cameras and speed limits you have here! arrived nearby and walked round the corner to find this well kept monument with so many nearby muggles and very busy with traffic at this big junction, gradually collected the info and did the sums where i made a mistake to start with and went nearby for a search soon came back and checked so not so far this time, soon found the neatly hidden prize and somewhere convenient to do the biz on this hot blue sky day.and i have also learnt some more australian history thanks.sltn.patandjeff=bones1.

Found at 1735. Whilst staying with a friend in Brighton, I saved the closest to last. The information was quickly gathered, and then off to GZ to find a very exposed area that took a little patience to wait out the best chance to grab it. Sat near GZ to complete the signing and placed back as quick as I could. The irony of where I was staying was that it is located at the end of Bent Street. I soon informed them of where the street got its name from.

Thanks dak.

My first CACHE!!! I did it!!!

17-Aug-08
Informative and easy clue gathering, but when I arrived at thew cache I couldn't believe how exposed the location is. The old "doing up the shoelace" deception was useful for retrieving and hiding it as hundreds of muggles whooshed by, and the seat near "Tommy" was a good place to do the business.
The cache is in good condition and well stocked.

Thanks dak and now Rebel Alliance

This would have to be the closest cache to where I used to work in Melbourne interesting to see all the changes that’s taken place in the last 5 years. The cache write up was informative with the clues worked out from the plaques it was off to gz where much steelth was used to locate and return the cache

Now that is how easy a multi should be!
No brain twister here & we got to learn something interesting too.
Even for such a high muggle area the cache was an easy one. Most of the muggles are in such a hurry they probably don't even see us "suspicious characters".
TNLNSL TFTC, find #221 for Echo & Spice.

Found it second time round by thinking "Where would I hide it?". Took nothing, left nothing - I need to stock up on suitable items.

I have driven past this cache sooooo many times. Eventually I had to give it a try. In true Dak fashion it was well after dark. 10pm!

Collected the numbers and headed to GZ. Cache found in the last place I looked. Which was also the first place I looked. But not the only place I looked!!

Silver in the new log book to another South Aussie.
