To get here i took a train from central to Oatley, then walked the length of several streets to get to this far and remote stretch of suburban jungle. Complete with pirate cave and hidden treasure. The reason I targeted this cache in the first place was simply due to its age. I'd never once come across a cache that's been published in July 2004. So when I once sat down and calculated what months I needed to fill in one of those pesky jasmer thingos, this cache was on that list if ever I saw myself anywhere near to Sydney.Well, when I arrived I made it a target and that's how I found myself dancing with mussels as I tiptoed my way to gz. Found the cache in the first place I looked and then crab walked my way to the exit.Thank you so much The Rats for choosing to show us this great little pinnacle to nowhere with a geocache. A favourite for location! And another jasmer month down. An upside down photo to celebrate!
Had my eyes on this one for a while and today is the day.Fabulous location and first visitor this year.TFTC
After reading this cache description, I came here prepared for the worst. I wore overalls and knee pads. It took a few minutes to find the right location and then I walked in, looked around and saw the small sistema straight away. My height was a distinct advantage here, and with the aid of a TOTT soon had CIH. I'm glad that I didn't have to do that nasty crawl. TFTC The Rats
Well, The things we do for the art of Geocaching the places we get up to and how filthy our clothes become.
Nice hide

Wow - that was a challenge! It’s not for the feint of heart … nor is it where sleeping rats lay! Great spot! TFTC
Wow- I’d regard that as a slightly higher terrain, mainly because I need to lay off the donuts. I climbed in the squeezey way as it was not yet full low tide and looked for about 40 mins before PAF. With a substantial hint from EverestHigh that my phone only received once I had climbed back out, yes squeezing back, I headed back in. I’d already wedged myself up here before and come up empty handed…. Wait, that goes further? Aha! Jeez what a shamozzle I’m dirty and grazed and why on earth I wore grey leggings today I don’t know but they’re filthy. A FP from me. It was a cool cave and I’m thankful for the experience but I think I’ll do some park n grabs for the rest of the afternoon TFTC
Beaut Spot , was scouting a place to watch the evening's Blood Super Moon when I hit upon this Cache.
Must say I shouldn't have been so well dressed , I got fairly filthy but it was fun doing it .

OCW EverestHigh. From the moment we started searching a likely spot seemed to present itself. However, the cache didn't appear to be there so we looked around the entire area until we realised that upon finding the spot you must search that one step further. Worth an FP for an epic location. TFTC The Rats!
Like Ali Babbar, we approached the cave with stealth, snuck in and grabbed the treasure. Awesome view across the Georges River to Sylvania Waters from the cave. Worth a favourite point. OCW MaxAdventurer. TFTC The Rats
Found it! I first searched where there was a a lot of broken glass and it's not there to save you the trouble. TFTC!
I’ve had my eye on this for a while as it is a much needed date in my jasmer Grid. I was in the area and didn’t really check the tides or anything but I thought I would come by and see if I could get in. The tide was low enough to grant me entry, but the kept eluding me for ages! Lots of crawling and getting dirty but no cache to show for it. I missed a paf and that led me to an area I thought I checked but turns out the cache was there waiting for my hand to grab it! Lovely hide, well hidden. Thank you!
I picked the tides and I got to GZ. But for a long time the hide eluded me until I spotted somewhere that would be safe to hide it. Then I tried the wrong thing at first before spotting an interesting rock. The it was a matter of getting into position. The thirty kilograms I’ve lost need another thirty to make this easy!?!
Woo hoo. Two years unloved!!!

Over 18 months ago I attempted this cache and left empty handed. After Bibliophilip had success recently I thought it was time for a second attempt.
PelDroefGwin and I timed our arrival perfect toy with low tide, dropped down a level and entered the cave.
This time I squeezed myself onto just the right spot and with torch in hand I spltted the hide.....cm’s from where I looked last time, can’t believe I missed it back then.
Very happy to have my stamp in this logbook

You really weren’t kidding about getting dirty with this one were you.
Ive had my eye on this one for a while but whenever I’d check the tide height it was never low enough for me to come out and try.
Today i came prepared. I came in old clothes and brought my head torch.
After parking up on Algernon St and walking down through the deserted park i scrambled down the cliff to the cave entrance.
I think i ended up checking every crevice in the cave and squeezing into every gap i could contort myself around before i ended up feeling around and grabbing the cache.
It was a Eureka! Moment.
I signed the new blank log and crawled back out.
Now i need to go wash my hair.
Thanks The Rats. You place some caches in some great spots.

Did go!! saw something suspicious but didn't go further as spiders were everywhere probably was where I saw it!!
Thought we'd have a look at this one to finish the day off. The tide was out so we had easy access to the cave and the rocks weren't too slippery.
We convinced ourselves that we were looking in the right place, based on the hint but a nudge from the CO suggested we were not quite in the right location.
We'll be back as it's a fun area to explore.

Spent the day cyclo-exploring the Oatley area with some caching action.
Fun day out with a tally of 11 finds, 1 DNF and a few 'didn't bother trying's.
This was the DNF.

Well, the CO promised finders will get grotty - and genuinely in the original sense of the word - and this cache delivered, in buckets-load.
After removing my runners and socks and leaving all non-wettables by a ledge, taking advantage of the lowish tide, managed to get to the cave getting only my lower limbs wet (and no slipping).
Then the serious searching started. Spent about 45 minutes with my iPhone's torch app to explore everywhere that matched the hint (several times) and even where it didn't match the hint. Even went far enough in to bump my head several times but no luck.
No cache, but still a fun adventure. Will have to bring back a much heftier lighting system next time; and perhaps a wet-suit
A TFTC-pending. Thanks The Rats

Totally underprepared I went looking for this one. No watershoes, no light, shorts etc. DNF.
And on the way back I lost my thong on a 30 centimetres drop when I slipped. I'll spare you the photo but my shin is now covered with red sticky liquid. Fuck gravity.

Cache container has been replaced and it is back in the cave where it belongs.
If you're not prepared to get dirty don't attempt this cache.

Kayaked up to this one with Elevation from Buckleberry Ferry and managed to slip over twice getting out of the kayak. Insanely slippery rocks. Lots of blood in the water for the bull sharks. Like some other previous finders we couldn't get this one open so we took a photo. It could use a can of WD40! TNLN TFTC
Out on a kayak trip with The Garbage Man, having a relaxing cruise around the river, picking out a few water caches. A top day had by all!
First of the day after a bit of a mission to get from the car to the water. We both got a bit muddy to say the least... On approach to GZ we found a slippery climb from the water to the cache. Container is very stiff and could not be opened. TFTC! !!

A quick consult of the tides. Looks like its a goer. Off we ventured, till we were above it, down we went, a bit slippery for R, a bit of mud doesn't hurt any one. A quick find once at the cave. Great spot loved it.

Out and about on Souvenir Day exploring some of the parks and bush land hereabouts.
I did a slight detour to check this one out with the view I wasn't going to attempt it if conditions weren't right. The tide was in and I wasn't happy with the shoes I was wearing. I did take a peak but retired.
I will check the tides and wear suitable foot wear next time.
I enjoyed the location and the view .

Why do I do this to myself!?!? I find myself looking overly hard for caches and badly flattening my phone at the same time. I failed to look closer in an obvious spot before I drained about 30% of my phone battery. Loads of rubbish in the cave! Would be great for a CITO event! TFTC
A little tricky to find, and a few grazes, but we found it after 10 minutes. Great view.

This was a most excellent adventure. I was out for a paddle to pick up a nearby kayak cache and on a whim decided to paddle a little further down the river and see if it was possible to plunder Aladdins Cave. A couple of fisher muggles never batted an eyelid as I paddled by and as I round the bend I saw the cave. On a really high 1.89m tide, I paddled right in. This was so much fun. Hopped out, that was easy. No mud no slippery rocks. Hmmm now where would Aladdin hide his jewels? Getting myself down and dirty, I soon realised this was all unnecessary. Have such refreshing water so close on hand I cleaned myself up and soon found myself a cache. Great hide. Just loved this one. Paddling in made it even more enjoyable. Thanks for another quality hide.
Out with Mikev26 and decided to try and add this one to the list from around this area. He wasn't giving me any clues, but the compass was going everywhere under the trees. Out in the open it pointed me in the right direction. A scramble down to the waters edge and I think I spotted what should be Aladdin's Cave. Got down low but then stood up, felt around and it was CIH. Much to Mikev's displeasure as he had taken ages to grab it a few months back! Opened the green lamp, and out popped the log to be signed, replaced and hidden for the next adventurer. A beautiful spot here. TFTC. #207.
A nice location, a great hide. Water was nice today, Found with Crinklypear5, tftc!
12/09/15. 12:21 PM. Cache #2987. Streak day #447.
5th of 7 today - Penshurst, Mortdale & Oatley.
A short drive here from "WET OR DRY #2"; parked at the corner and then followed the path down to Oatley Point. When I saw I was getting close, I started looking for access points down and found a spot with a fairly easy scramble down. Then picked my way around the rocks below, avoiding the slippery bits, until I got to the mouth of what must have been Aladdin's Cave.
Checked the hint, which didn't give too much away, and in I went. Luckily, from there it was a fairly easy find. Took it out to sign and then replaced it as found. I then found an easier way back up and headed off to the next cache, "Buckleberry Ferry". TFTC - and have a fave point for the fun adventure in a nice setting.

Yay Found it. This one needed a light to help me find it after not spotting anything. took longer then normal to sign and leave gz due to my phone not wanting to work and was very tempting to throw my phone in the drink. finally got some pics of the lovely area once phone stopped stalling on me and then left cache and gz how i found it. TFTC
Had to come back to this one as when we first tried there was some fishing hopefulls sitting on GZ. When we returned we had a clear run and made short work of it. Nice spot. We placed a new log book in the cache and added our sticker. TFTC
This took a very long time to find. After finding a cave and searching with no success, I went to the many other smaller caves nearby. Still no success. So back to the big cave....no luck. Was about to leave when finally I saw the lamp shining back at me. I had been searching too low, and without a torch. It will be a bonus if you don't fall over on the slippery muddy rocks on the way to the cave. Also cache needs a new log sheet; there's no room left to sign on the current one. Found this cache as part of Road Trip '15.
Even after reading previous logs, i went down the rocks, got down real low. Looked around the bottom of the rocks. But couldn't see anything that resemble a container.
I could be wrong..but i suspect it missing. Maybe water level rose due to recent weather and washed it away?

Now this. This cache. This has got to be in my top 2 caches ever! I would definitely Favourite it if I was a premium member. I was searching for a good 20 minutes on top here, and as the hint said, I was on top of it the whole time. After getting my vantage point a bit lower and actually searching through the caves, the cache was soon in hand - after using a torch mind!
Definitely a favourite, thanks a bunch for such a great cache The Rats ^_^

Oh man, despite out caving skills (we once walked past a rock we couldn't find it. I even send my firstborn son in as a sacrifice but we ended up with an DNF.
!!! This cache location has become another favourite! I accessed it from land and loved all the manoeuvring around the rocks to make my way to the cache! A lot of empty bottles. The view was spectacular. Will be back again just to enjoy this amazing place! Thanks for the cache!
While in the general area, I decided to pop in here - looks like an interesting cache - yep - certainly didn't disappoint! I loved the cut-out steps on the way down, loved the cave and found the cache very quickly. Low tide certainly helps! Then afterwards, I sat up top for a while just relaxing and watching. Thanks The Rats.
Sometimes it doesn't pay to go caching before work in uniform.. A little muddy now. Love the location and hide. Thanks
After the Event we went for a short walk to find some caches on the other side of the bridge. TFTC !
One of the best viewpoints on the waterways of Sydney. Fabulous reward for a difficult find - unseen till you're almost right on it. Thanks for bringing me here.
Stunning location and great tricky hide. Lots of rubbish around - maybe from the recent king tides. Thanks for bringing us here - would like to return to admire the view again.
Nice hiding place. I made it harder for myself than it really was but glad to find it.
Couldn't find a lamp inside. Had to use my phone light to find a cache.

After finding Buckleberry Ferry, the OBayMan & I found ourselves near Oatley Pt. We need to have another crack at Aladin's Cave, we decided. Nine months ago I had no luck, came away with nothing but dirt, scrapes & bruises. With a few more caches under the belt, this time it was revealed. Doh! Not quite so hard, after-all. TFTC The Rats
Great spot and enjoyed the rewards after paddling with deemacvee against the tide and winds. Also found Wilson floating near GZ. TFTC
On a beautiful day like this it is a nice place to sit, fish or sunbathe which is exactly what a group of muggles were doing only metres from GZ. Oh well it gives me a good reason to come back for a better look around.
Well if this is Aladdins Cave, he must have had a little bit of a drinking problem............
A quick "Open Sesame" and the cache was soon to hand.

I'm pretty sure that I found the cave. Just couldn't get in far enough for the cache. Sat for a bit and enjoyed the river views. Took some pics and headed off towards Como. Regards from San Carlos, California. tv
Nice spot, but there were plenty of muggles around; however, they didn't see me.
Great Spot!(was a little cramped) We did not expect to find it there, however we did look around for a while and found it!
Went today just after we found our first cache-we unfortunately were unable to locate it. We look for half an hour and nothing. We saw a couple of muggles fishing. Maybe next time.
Encouraged by previous logs, I decided to try for this one this morning. There were no muggles about and the tide was low so the portents were good. Alas the cache eluded me. I think I could see where it was but just could not reach far enough to be sure. I will put this one on my watch list to see if future cachers have more success. Thanks Rats for bringing me to this scenic place.
This was a perfect start to the Caching year. Found this with Katsumar. This was our second attempt and we were absolutely dying to get it right. We were equipped and determined and a little illumination helped, as well as a small person who could reach into tight spaces.
Definetly our favourite Cache to date! Thanks The Rats!

This is the perfect place for a Bear so we Dropped off Brown Bear 22 who is on a mission to see the world. We picked up the Gone Fishin travel bug and will find another great fishing spot for him.

I knew this one would be tough, from prior comments, so we came ready to get down and dirty, with a torch and some tools for poking around. Emerged covered in dirt & scrapes - alas, unsuccessful. It might be there. There are certainly a couple of holes that I couldn't access fully. I might put this one in the too hard basket until someone else records a successful find. The ladies on the mother-ship enjoyed watching me fall in the river when transfering from the kayak. All part of the plan, of course. Had to get the dirt off somehow.
BTW Another stunningly clever location by The Rats. Check the photo

Looked very extensively in practically all corners of site and didn't find it. Beautiful location and place. Really disappointed we didn't find it after a lot of searching. Would love it confirmed that it is still there.
Encouraged by last comment, we've decided to have another go at this tricky hide. After 15 minutes of frustrating search the container was in hand. I had to use some tools found nearby to reach it.
Took TB and dropped TB.

TFTC,
This gives me 210 consecutive days (getting close to 2/3 of the 366 days I am aiming for).
After starting with A BAD CACHING DAY THIS MORNING. I Didn't have the LATEST info in my GPSr and made a visits to caches that I shouldn't have. After 4 DNF's this morning (GC3R75T, GC3PGR1, 39DTX, 3QM1H) it was great to be able to build my daily total challenge.
Oh Hoojar, you sure have made it more difficult. While I looked there first, I didn't reach around the corner far enough and went looking elsewhere before returning 15 minutes later for a final check before leaving. I was so impressed with having made this find I have left a trackable to encourage others to try for it. And for the quality of the hide and view, will give The Rats another favorite for it.

Found on an afternoon run with Steeba, and with a favourite point to boot. Passed some muggles having an enjoyable afternoon with Mary Jane. Battled the high tide. Found the cache as high as possible. Hid the cache in a harder spot, just a little deeper, just because I could. Did some rock climbing to get back to the top to avoid the high tide.
A most enjoyable experience really!

This one has been on the radar for some time now and I had even volunteered with some cache maintenance to get there!
Hoojar and I ended up almost caving to find this one tucked away very well in it's hideaway. Other than the high tide the biggest issue we probably had was disturbing some young males smoking a bit of the old wacky tabacky .
Glad to be able to tackle this one on the weekend and not in my work clothes! TFTC!

Couldn't find the replaced container with assistance by cake&lala. Found the old container which had the lid removed and filled with water. We searched around every hole and even above with no sight of the cache.
Very amazing spot. Will definitely be checking on this one again soon

Cache is trahsed. Found all over the floor in the cave. Def not worth visiting now.
Found the cache and indeed it is in need of some maintenance. However the container is not to bad and although the contents are "smelly" it was still possible to log the damp logbook! Sorry Rats, I had a maintenance planned for this one, but in the end forgot to take the container, it is still waiting in my garage!
