Here we go.....Time to archive this one. Its been out of bounds for a while due to regulations and needed to be collected and a new one placed further away from the catchment zone. We have had a bit of a scout around and thee are good options that will be interesting when we get out to make a new cache. Thanks Mal for the "flying W" trick on your bike. Glad it wasnt me as it looked painful and spectacular all at the same time.
Wasn't feeling too good today as I had the flu, but I went out with Pat on our Mountain Bikes and we rode to the cache. Pat hung back and let me find the cache which I found easily. Took a photo then Pat removed the cache for archiving. We then went off up the hill and rode back a different way looking for other locations to hide a cache. While going down a steep rocky section too fast, I fell off my bike and lost a bit of skin. Apart from that mishap it was a very enjoyable day with good exercise. The apples were nice too! Thanks for the cache Lyn Pat and Nathan.
Yep we agree with that. We will archive it temporarily for now and probably fully archive it in the future (soonish we think)there is a lot of bushland higher up and away from the dam area so a multi-cache would be perfect for a replacement. Cooler weather means we can come out of hybernation unlike bears...haha
There doesn't seem to be any way to access this without ignoring big "No Entry" signs designed to keep people out of the catchment area.
Time to remove this one, I think...
That said, it's worth finding a spot closer to the dam for a replacement cache as it's a pleasant place to come and wander around, even if the lake is just a puddle at the moment.

Started from the gate into Victoria Dam and left the other way towards Grizly making a large walk loop of the afternoon.
Thanks for the cache however I am concerned that this cache is right inside a Prohibited Zone around the Victoria Dam catchment area that prohibits everyone including walkers. Perhaps you could consider shifting this cache up the hill above the power line track that seems to be the limit of the prohibited zone and well away from the water. (About 400m)
This power line track comes out onto the Bickley Dam-Victoria Dam walk track and could provide an alternate way in as Douglas Rd is also within the prohibited area for about half the length of it from the cache back towards Canning Road. Although it is badly damaged there was a no entry sign at about halfway along this track.

We have been thinking of moving the cache away from the area more inline with the 400m zone. It will happen sometime. We will work on making an excusrsion out there and sussing out a new plac, we have even been scouting using google earth and have a couple of possible locations. its more a case of finding most of a day free with noti8ng else planned and some mild weather to do it. The cache only gets a few visits so we havnt been in a huge hurry but it is planned. Thanks for the input and suggestions as they are always welcome
What can I say. Pat and the others have logged what happened. I saw Pat riding his bike down the road but I did not know him and Team Gunn Parker thought he was the Ranger from our vantage point. After a while we saw this person at the cache as we came up to it then there was recognition. NOT THE RANGER. Picked up Geocoin and left torch.
Our fourth cache today on our 18 km walk through the hills. We had planned another two caches after this one, but we where not making as much time as we hoped so decided to abort enroute to The Cash Cache, instead returning to the car. This was an easy find as we arrived just as Pat was replacing the cache! Took some body creme and left a book light and motogrrl Memorial Geocoin #6 (Australia). Thanks for the cache LPN and putting it in a good place for a walk.

Found this afternoon after walking from Ellis brook.
As the three of us walked up to the area we spied a guy on a bike looking like he was up to something, and he was.
It was Pat of LPN replacing the container so we all sat down to lunch and a chat before heading off to the next cache.
Took some magnets
left Otto and a toy dog
Thanks
Andrew

It was time for a few repairs to the cache. I rode out on my bike following the track all the way to the cache area. Its an easy 10 minute roll.
I found the cache again and as I was finding a place to sit the other cache hunters that I knew were out on a bushwalking day in the area turned up. They had been to the far reaches of the forest hunting the elusive hidden containers we all call CACHES.
lunch break. We sat and chatted about all things concerning caching and ate our food. The time flew. Before we realised it was time to bid our farewell as there were more to be found. They set off towards the next find (2.5km or 2.8km depending on whos GPS you are looking at) and I went back the way I came in.
I mounted the bike and broke the chain within 100m (a link fell out must be a faulty chain) so I had to push the bike all the way up the hill. About 3km. It was probably too hard a ride for me anyway.
Cache is in good condition and is now an AMMO box so it should last. Contents are excellent. Its also back under the tree where it began as rain won't harm it now.

Took a different way to that suggested. It would have been even better if you could go straight across the dam wall. After much uphill walking I found the overgrown track leading to the cache. I found the cache location OK but there was only a sheet of paper saying it was not there. Eventually found it a few meters away under a blackboy. I have double bagged it and replaced in it's correct spot. With the sun appearing the birds came out and I was actually able to observe a pair of Western Rosellas hopping along feeding. I usually get to see the Red Caps and the Bleeding Hearts.Anyway.

Great day for a walk, joint effort with The Treasure Trovers (or one member of said Trovers). Found cache very easily, was starting to suffer ill-effects of damp in its current place so have put it in drier spot a few feet from where we found it. Had a walk around to the dam wall and down to a lovely picnic area. Will definately return to this area with the kids as it is such a lovely place.
Took: Wall walker (Treasure Trovers)
Took: Tom Price teaspoon (me)
Left: Calling card, Scorpion key ring (Trovers)
Left: Gardenia hand & body cream (me)

Long walk to this one, but enjoyable. We were in the vicinity and decided to continue our walking. Arrived about 10.40am and had a pleasant lunch break nearby. Then a long hot walk back to the car. Thankyou for a wonderful cache. Very quiet area.

Went out for a leisurely stroll and boy did we find one. Nice peaceful area and not a sole for miles. Lots of birdlife and the occasional roo with tonnes of wildflowers. It was a little warm today but there is lots of shade along the walk which made the trek a lot easier.
Took - Plastic box
Left - Toy Car
Thanx for the hunt Lyn Pat and Nathan.
P.S. - Maybe we should have left the cache container there?

Found cache... what an excellent location. Such solitude!!! Took McDonalds watch - left pink playdoh and blue wall-climber and our calling card. Thanks. Now the walk back... 16:20
Saved for this special cache for our 300th find and celebrated it. At first, I was very tempted to use a vehicle to access the first 2 gates and park at the 3rd and last gate then walk all the rest of way. Decided against it for some reasons and used 2-legs-machine all the way to there and back. It was great experience of being there and worthwhile and a great place in the beautiful day with occasional patchy overcast and rains. Stayed there for lunch and enjoyed the scenery where you do not normally do it in your life, do you? TN and L: Crocodile key ring (not real one left to be breeded there ). Thanks for cache at the unique place, hunt and exercise, LPN.
Wow - pipped at the post by the Cache Rangers again. After a long walk I found the cache well covered, though easy to locate. T: Changi coaster and pen, L: wire brush and a screwdriver set. One of these days, I'llk learn to read the cache notes...
Thanks for the cache, the hunt, the fun, and the exercise.

Tried to do this yesterday but didn't feel like tramping 6 clicks in the rain. Almost happened today, but cleared just long enough to get the job done. Straight flat track but still a long trek. Thought somebody else would have been here for the FTF but we lucked out again! T: FTF Certificate & Geocoin L: pen and souvenir spoon. Thanks Lyn, Pat, & Nat, it was good fun.
