JezNDez and I had made a mad 3000km, 4 day dash from Brisbane and back, on the hunt for a first to find at the summit of Mt Jagungal in Kosciuszko National Park. After successfully completing the overnight hike, we returned to Cooma for a night before starting the long drive back to Brisbane. After overnighting in Dubbo it was time for the last leg of the trip home, with a few caching stops along the way.
Leaving Dubbo bright and early, this was our first stop of the day. We parked our car on Mogriguy Forest Road and made our way through the scrub and plethora of spider web booby traps before finally spotting the trig point hidden away in the trees. It certainly didn't feel like we were elevated enough for a trig point location.
After a short search the new and old cache containers were found and we signed our names in the rather tattered and fragile old logbook. TFTC

We have climbed the Trig cairn twice. And signed the log twice. Once in honour of this original cache and once to log the replacement

Yep.
FOUND IT!
Found with gangstella and hubby.
It's still there, in one piece and watertight. So tight we all tried opening it before we had to force it open a little. It took us a little while to find it because it was at the exact spot I put my bag down. I really enjoyed the trek out here and finding the Trig. I especially loved finding an old geocache still in tact and untouched for just over 8 years.
I left a couple of little swaps in case you chose to re-enable it, or for some future geocacher who decides to do what I did. I signed the log with the wrong date. It's the 31st, not 30th. Ah well.
Thanks so much Mix for suggesting and planting it.

I have no idea if it's still there but I am no longer replacing caches in this area. The trig is a waymark on waymarking.com.
The area near the cache has been burnt, might not quite have made it to the cache though! Access roads are currently closed. Not sure about the condition of the cache.

What an interesting find! Have a friend who's a surveyor so I just had to take a pic of this for him
Nice easy find. It was very wet underfoot after the recent rain.
Thanks

What the heck is this thing doing out here? I've seen these before and never really known what they are. Fairly easy walk in and guess what - we searched everywhere but the right place first. Took about 10 minutes - very satisfying find in the wilderness. TFTC
Had all the family out for a picnic and to find a few caches, found three of yours Mix and a couple of of others . As soon as the cars stopped everyone was out to see who could find the cache first. It was a great day.
Again thanks Mix.
Again thanks Mix.
A quick cache that turned out to take a bit longer because I forgot a pencil! Clear felling would be required to get a sight on this trig! TNLN. Thanks.
The first for the day(7) total .nice drive out there decided to do a few other caches while out and about thanks for this one enjoyed it
A easy find but was a very hot day (42c) with no wind. I had to make 2 trips to the cache site. The first trip the kids came with me. But as I forgot to take a pen I had to make a second trip to the cache site to put it back. The kids did not want to make a second trip so stayed at the car. SL

LOL... Funny that there is a trig out there in the bush with hardly a rise to get to. I think the pile of rocks puts the point twice as high as the surrounds .
Great to find in the middle of the bush and I think the builders would appreciate the new caching traffic seeing it. TFTC. TNLN.
6 of 9 for my Goonoo Day!

been traveling the forest for years didn,t know the stone trig was there thanks for showing me
Did not expect to see that out in the middle of the bush. Thanks Mix and Bronze.
It was getting toward dusk on our drive into Dubbo. However this one looked close to another and we stumbled off into the scrub. We were dressed fairly well for driving and drivebuys but were not dressed for the bush bash.
Found ok after all that.
Thanks

wild goose chase up a hill. thought it was a temple and therefore wouldn't climb on it. But feel free it is no temple.

Found this one just before dark on a wet sat afternoon. No 5 of 7 for the day. Scared Mrs Bluedog when I drove the Commodore up the embankment off the Main road in an attempt to hide the car a bit. The problem is that there are more electronic gadgets in the car, worth far more than the car itself. Found the cache just on dusk and SL. Walked back to the car in the dark. Drove back down the embankment ALONE and went looking for No 6.

Amazing, Team Booted had not logged this one. Interesting trig station, I think someone had too much time on their hands.
Easy find, signed the log and back to the car we all went.
Cheers

Thanks for the lovely bush bash. Mental note from 1st lady "next time waypoint the car". Beautiful location with not too many eight-legged friends hanging about.
Thanks Mix and Bronze.
Thanks Mix and Bronze.
Our third find! Enjoyed the walk through the bush - although we needed a stick to cope with the spiders! Left a clever comment and took a couple of photos. The kids enjoyed climbing the trig station.
this one was nice and easy to find.had to sign this one with a muddy stick to
thank bronze

Well this one would have been easy enough had it not been for all the bloody spiders! There were webs everywhere. Was quite the challenge to avoid walking through them.
Once I got there it was rather easy to locate the hide.
Great hidden spot.

A great little find in the middle of the woods - who would've thought to look here?!
What a great spot. A good walk in through the scrub. It was pretty thick could not see it from 70 meters away
Thanx Guys
