Too many DNF's, so to save the area from any further damage, I'm archiving this cache. So while there's nothing to search for it's still worth a visit.
Sad to see it archived! This was by far my favorite cache during my years in Exmouth. Thanks Team Red Roo for the memories.

A very nice spot, thanks for showing us. but we diden't find the cache... maybe you need to check if its still there? Greetings from our trip to perth. TFTC from switzerland.
We drove by car, but parked it about half the way to the cache. The hiking was fun, we saw quite a few kangaroos hopping away- as we are Swiss tourists, we enjoy seeing those animals. We found the place, but after one hour searching the rocks we gave up and enjoyed the beautiful view and the very special caves. Tftc!!! Snoopy17
Didn't find it. Spent an hour looking for this one but no luck.
Thanks for showing us this place though, worth the visit.
Thanks for showing us this place though, worth the visit.
Looked high and low with Geogavy and jasonbeard6 for some time with no luck. Looks like the awesome spot has seen some traffic even though the track is pretty heavy. Worth a look but maybe needs archiving or resetting? Bags not going again...Thanks anyway!
Had the location to ourselves and a team of 4 could not find this one. Looks like the hill has been well worked over by others trying to locate the cache, so if its there it s well hidden but if not, I suggest it gets replaced or archived before the place gets damaged.
Great location to visit in any case and very interesting to see inside the caves.

Found this cache and what a great site. Very rough track in though and I would not recommend a 2 wheel drive. Hint when you get to the cross track at 300mts take the right track.
A really awesome place and absolutly worth a cache. Thanks for showing. Found this one on our trip to Darwin.

After a bumpy ride to the cache we found the cache immediately. These place have a special spirit, offside of the busy live of these peninsula. Unfortunately we went a little bit late and therefor we couldn't enjoy this peace.

out of my 110ish cache's found to date this is by far the best one i have found!!!! nice bit of a 4wd (always good) and a beautiful place that none of the other 10,000 people at exmouth during school holidays new about! so quiet and peaceful. i think you for taking me here!
Found last year but thought we would come back as such a beautiful spot. Quick check in the geocache revealed a TB for our efforts! Did we spot you Lordy26, heading out as our two 4wds were going in?
After a very rocky trail in and a bit of a hike, geo found with help of the hint. Lovely spot, caves interesting.
Great rock shelters; interesting artwork. Thanks for bringing us here - well worth it! TFTC
We drove in until we got to the end of the track and then walked the rest of the way. Really interesting to have a look in these caves. Had lunch while stopped. TFTC
Good fun driving in... Yes, 4WD makes it easy. Thanks for taking us to such an interesting spot.
Found at 11.30am GAFF1. What a lovely location this is. We took it very slowly along the track and then a short walk to the cache which was right next to the only Sturt Desert Pea bush in the whole area. Lots of kangaroo poo around - actually you couldn't step anywhere without treading on some.
The caves were quite "interesting" with the usual infantile "art" of the natives. Wonder how old the scratchings are - 10, 20 years ago?
Thanks Wayne and Kathryn.

Great spot, we would never know that these caves existed except for geocaching. Interesting drive and hike, thanks.
A great spot. We parked at the awd waypoint and walked in the 900m from there. The cache and the caves are well worth a visit, though we were a little dubious about the age of the etchings, which looked more recent than expected.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Although this took a little more effort than the average cache, it was well worth it. The wildflowers were beautiful and the scenery and the caves spectacular! Thank you for placing the cache here which allowed us to visit a place where the average tourist wouldn't see!
Found this morning. It was very hot and a hard drive to the cache spot, still it was well worth while. TFTC
Too windy to snorkel so decided to grab this cache and explore a little. Drove all the way in with an AWD Territory so had to take care with the low ground clearance. Kids a little dissappointed we couldn't find any bats. TNLN.
Day nine and the 34th find for K-Maximus and myself on our 5512km / 12 day whirlwind tour of the north west that we shall call the North West Wander Geoquest.
Nice easy find.

Thanks so much for this cache, we have been coming up here for years and never knew about this place. Very interesting though rugged drive. Saw plenty of wildlife including an echidna. SL TNLN
Had a great time 4wding right up to about 100m from the cache. Couldn't find it with the incar GPS after a long search. Came back with the handheld Garmin, found it and then walked across the Cape back to Exmouth. Great hide, lovely spot. Cheers TNLNSL
This was our last cache hunting for the day. For the drive to the cache was great because we have a lot of experience with driving such rocky tracks in East Kimberley. Mr Bushies2 drove up to 100m before the cache. Searched a while before Mr Bushies2 found it and we noted that the geocoin is missing. Great cave and aboriginal rock art. Thanks Wayne and Kathryn - Team Red Roo for all caches along Yardie track.
After a long walk starting at the mainstreet I found it very easy. Fancy place

We rarely have had the chance to do the more challenging caches on this trip but with a days sightseeing we could at least do this one. The instructions were very clear and very spot on and as we bumped along we enjoyed the views and the mystery of it all. Cache found easily and we explored the caves discovering the traditional aboriginal peace sign scratched on the roof. We swapped a VW (so geogirl could play punch buggy) for ginger. TFTC
Drove in as far as we could, What a track that is, Fantastic Caves.

Went to this cache on the way out of our stay in the National Park, I must say a big thank you for placing a cache here and giving us the oppertuinity to visit this spot. The geokids were facinated with the caves and got to see their first bat. We had to follow an Emu back to the car park, great to see one up so close. Thanks.
Drove to about 800m of the cache and then enjoyed an exploration of the area. The caves are great. Found the cache with no problems. TNLN. thanks Wayne and Kathryn - Team Red Roo
While this is not a maintenance log as such (I haven't been there to check at this stage) the "Needs Maintenance" log by Sqid 59 should really be a DNF log. This log is placed to balance out Squids log.
The cache is reasonably well concealed and will be checked on my next visit.

really enjoyed the 4wd trek to get here, finally get to put the rental car thru its paces met a bloke here who sprung me logging the cache, but he was thankful, as he'd been looking for the caves for some time and a geocacher had directed him to this place.
It was indeed a rough track. Very rocky. A good cave. Thanks for taking us there. A good view from the top of both sides of the peninsula. Left Dutch microcoin
Very special place. Enjoyed the track in. Previous hints with the left junction/right junction comments took us to the base of the cache, and cave.

took 2x AA batteries and left a rubber ducky.

Enjoyed the track in. I was a wuss, so we parked at the soft-roader parking spot and walked in from there (about 1km walk), but my hubby said we could have made it all the way.
It was a nice walk anyway, and quite a warm day. Sad to see all the graffiti on the roof of the cave. Found the cache easily, no swaps today, thanks for the hunt!

Great cache. The final track turns into 3 just before the caves, we took the wrong one which got us above the caves with a difficult 200 metre foot slog to get to our destination. Had we turned right where the track divides we would have been able to drive right up to the caves without too much trouble.
We didn;t drive in all the way as we needed the exercise (so we walked the last 700m). The rock art was fascinating. Thanks!

Led a group from Perth 4WD Club to this one. It certainly is 4WD only. Lots of cap rock. Found cache OK. Cave was interesting. A ot of "paintings' some that loked to new to be ancent aboriginal carvings but some where obviosuly from a long time ago. It was too hot to venture further to see where else the tracks might lead us to. We had crossed the range a few days ago so we didn't need to do that again.

Didn't have any notes with us so found this cache to be a bit exciting. Took one wrong turn and ended up the hill so had to return to the right track to find the cache. Ran out of time to explore the caves too much but always enjoy a good 4wd cache. Thx
Found it, enjoyed the drive and the wonder through the scrub. Managed to get ontop of it, but decided against climbing down, so went around. Took Nothing, and left nothing as I had come a bit unprepared.
Great spot! Thanks.

What a great cache this one was. Have been hoping to reach a milestone number with one like this but alas we are a few short. The track in wasn't as bad as what I was expecting having had a crack at this one last year late in the day before pulling out.
The views were awesome and we could all feel the history of the caves.
I rate this one a 10/10.
TNLNSL
Thanks again Wayne & Kathryn for the cache.

Well...were on our way "home" from the NP and saw a cache symbol on the GPS [^] so thought we might take a look. Found the track ok which later became several tracks but got within 130m from the cache (not bad without any info, waypoints etc I thought) Scampered down and up one gully to come to the top of an even bigger one [:o] and the GPS indicating only 10m away vertically ! so down the rocks we go. TNLN - had ditched the swaps bag and camera at the top of the rocks. Would have liked to launch a new geocoin here as it is very deserving cache but didn't have one with me - bugger. Finally made it back to the 4WD a bit scratched and bruised [|)] Continued up and over the range in the 'Cruiser and continued east thru the dunes until we hit bitumen on the east side. Thanks Team Red Roo FTC - unfortunately did not have the background info re significane of the caves at the time, but enjoyed the adventure all the same
How mad are we?
The track in was definitely the most adventurous we have ever taken in the geomobile. Unfortunately we took a wrong turn and ended up on top of the range looking back down at the site. What a great view. I had to back track to get down to the cache. Its a pity the locals dont promote the caves as we didn't see any evidence in the visitors centre.
Great spot and definitely worth the effort.
Now I must take geowife out to dinner to make amends for the terror.

It would have better to FLY into this one. With the rest of the Flys. They were persistant. Caves were interesting but no Bats.
Hot with lots of flys, but still a great spot to see history. 4WD was helpful, but not mandatory. TFTC
Definetely a highlight during our stay in Australia this year! We decides to led our Landcruiser at the road downhill and to climb up. As we have saw at GZ, it is not everytime recommended to follow the arrow blind:)) But after a bit of climbing through rocks down to the caves we used the occasion to enjoy the paintings. We are pretty sure, that we never found this very special spot without geocaching! So many thanks to bring us into this area. We really enjoy the atmosphere of an holy place withought signs etc.

I'll be there in a few weeks and take some coordinates for you and others, since I feel that this is a worthwhile cache - even for 2wd's to park and walk in for.

Just realised I never logged this one when i was up there in July. However with failing light and unsure as to whether i was on the correct track at all even I decided to turn around. Unfortunately i never got to retackle this, there is always July 2008. Would appreciate when someone tackles this one again to record the point at which they left the road as there appears to be many options. Waypoint listing would be even better.
Many thanks

We decided to walk in to this one from the first jumpup - about 750 crow metres. The rain of the past two days had cleared and it turned into a glorious day. A nice easy find with the GPSr indicating GZ within 75 cm of the cache. T a cigarette, to be destroyed - filthy habit!! (I have only one lung due to losing one to lung cancer 6 years 6 months ago), L a ram. Dropped Dr Hibbert tb for a visit before grabbing him again to continue his travels.
After the find I had a look at all the caves, but was disappointed to find only the large cave had rock art. Still worth the visit.

Found It...had been here before but didn't realise there was a cache so had to return (oh dear) loved the drive in, take the time to explore the area a little. A side note - this is a registered aboriginal sacred site - don't recomend taking photos or removing anything from the site- can bring very bad luck!

This was my favourite find of the holiday. Not only was it more remote & required slow careful driving but the views from the cave looking out over the ocean were fantastic. I can well understand why early Australians would have spent time in these caves. Its a pity that grafitti has combined with the original aboriginal art to make it difficult to tell the original from the fake but still an amazing place.
Found with our mates MAD106 after a drive up some nondescript looking track to these caves where the rock art is sometimes genuine and most of the time not. I was pretty much in awe if some of the scratchings we saw were as old as purported to be. The bloke we met there (some federal guy) did tell us which was which... Through geocaching we saw something not often seen by the public. Great cache and great find. These pics went to school with my son on his first day back. His show and tell was something of a success he told me.
Drove most of the way to this cache and had a short walk to the cave. We were greeted by a Federal Police Officer who was none too pleased to see us. We did explain that we were there to look and enjoy not look and destroy and he seemed to warm to us. I guess when you think this is a secret spot and 4 cars turn up then it would be a bit of a surprise. Our new friend explained that the carvings to the right as you enter the cave are original and the rest are grafitti. He has been photographing the cave for the past 8 years just to compare what vandalism is occuring - it's just a shame that some idiots have no sense of historical value and the importance of preserving such sites. Thanks for the find we very much enjoyed the location.
We didn't exactly take the easiest route to this cache, approa ching from the North and climbing down from above the Northernmost cave. Although we did not find the cache, we were not at all disappointed by the journey. Having never seen original native rock art I had quite a buzz being there.
Despite staying at the campsite so near we would never have ventured this way were it not for the cache. Thank you for a special find!
Cheers,
Team Teri.

The old Pajero got us to this one in short order. We hiked up to the caves and were wondering if some of the scratchings are more recent than we expected.
Had got all the way back down to the car and realised I had left my glasses behind. Bel sat and waited as per normal as I dwadled back up the hill again.
The views from here are excellent.
We took nothing Left nothing.

Wow, by the time I found this I felt like one of the goats, followed a road with the Pajero (my teeth are still rattling) and then hiked South to it, I am not going to be able to walk tomorrow. The caves were great except for the dead animals and a good place to get out of the rain. TNLNSL
Took the family to this cache for a nice day of hiking in the Cape Range. Came across the site and the GPS got me to within 2 feet of the cache. We took a flight tag, a tennis ball, and a USAF weather badge. We left a golfball, a button, and a necklace. We spent the next 2 hours hiking around the area and even made it to the ridge. The view of the Gulf and the Indian Ocean is quite nice. Yesterday was a true joy and we look forward to more great treks into the area. I hope to update the log with some pictures very soon.
This was an excellent cache! It was a nice finish after finding 2 easy caches. After Mulderra and Jubari we began the final destination in our journey. It was a nice workout getting to it and it felt like a step back in time as we walked, but it was well worth the visit. Once we arrived at the area and I began to look around and investigate further I began to become absorbed in the entire site. At the risk of sounding somewhat melodramatic I can honestly say that I envisioned what must have gone on there many hundreds if not thousands of years ago and I saw it play out in my minds eye! As I said, well worth the visit! I did not take anything, but I left a USAF meteorology badge! Great site!
Wow...excellent cache!!! I decided today was a good day for a long walk, so I hiked to the cache from the road. The sand slowed my progress a bit, but I pressed on. Unfortunately, I followed the wrong road on the way to the cache, but a short bush walk down, up, over, and back down again got me to where I needed to go. I had poor signal reception due to the terrain, but I found the cache after a couple quick sweeps of the area. Beware the local terrain, as I twisted my ankle (being the dummie that I am...alone). After I found the cache, the caves were awesome. I always wondered where kangaroos went during the day, and I think I found every single one that lives in Australia (okay, maybe about 18 of them)!!! The area smelled a bit like a zoo with all the droppings, and the flies came right along with it. I didn't see any rock art, but I can easily see why this used to be an inhabited area. Thanks Team Red Roo for another great cache, and I can't wait to find some more of them!
