Doing some checks on our hill caches this morning and recovered this with some small rocks.
Excellent hiding spot felt like a mount goat and watching my wife follow me into the scrub to find it was the best.
Quick find thanks to great hint and directions. Nice breeze under the shady tree while I log this cache. . Very hot day! Thanks for bringing us here
We were up here to check out the view so walked a bit further to find another Cache..
Boot took the hike up the steep path via Buchanans Road- phew what a doozy! Worth it for the amazing views. *The generic bit for this trip*We are on our way north for warmer weather. From Victoria to Cooktown, weaving inland and to the coast, caching as we go. No real plans, just taking each day as it comes and enjoying the adventure in our converted ambulance. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining caches for our enjoyment.
Replaced container today, found the old one, lidless and a couple of metres away with a mushy log. Removed old container and put fresh log in new container.
Wonderful spot to visit. Can't help with the missing lid but it is okay and dry.
Found but container is missing a lid.If a future finder could replace container....Tftc
Loving all the history on Towers Hill, and some geocaches as a bonus, TFTC Dave32
Found with SJG66 as we checked out Charters Towers, always good to find an older cache. TFTC
Apologies for the late log here (26.12.23) but I've had a mad time since getting back to the UK.Always good to find an oldie and this was no disappointment. A nice walk, great views, a certain amount of hopping from rock to rock and eventually, a find. Yay. Thanks for an interesting one.TNLN-TFTC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.

Visiting Charters Towers for a couple of days.

Could not pass through without grabbing this old cache. The lid appears missing, but all was dry. TFTC!
Great walk up from the caravan park. Spotted the GZ from the path so a relatively easy find.

A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
Nice quick find. I like the hint, having to figure out what is a "shady" tree.
Nice quick find. I like the hint, having to figure out what is a "shady" tree.
Quick find with the co-ordinates spot on. We were literally and figuratively blown away by the view . . . damn, it was windy today
Found this well hidden cache after a few minutes searching in this beautiful location. On a very short trip to Charters Towers. Thanks.
Found today whilst doing parts of an adv lab. So much to see here. Cache ok. TFTC
Out to do an Al and a Wherigo. After 3 days in the car I opted to walk the Wherigo. Wandered past this one.
A nice quick find here, exactly where I though it would be.

We went round a bit, then resorted to hint. Quick find after that. Contents and cache in good condition. Local rock wallabies out enjoying the morning sun. TFTC
Enjoying the views and the history up here. The short walk was well worth doing and we made a quick find here. What a great container! Thanks for the hide.
Our last day in Charters Towers and it was the bikes turn for sight seeing, after our 4 weeks riding in Townsville, we have come to like caching on our bikes. Plan on doing a few hills but should be ok with the ebikes.
Thanks Dave32 for the caches.

Got off to a late start to do some caching around Charters Towers with ilook4geo. It was quiet around town being Anzac Day. No problem in finding this cache and adding both names to the log. Dave32 gets our thanks for placing this cache.
Just doing a bit of caching today with goingplaces2 when it was not raining too hard. Sometimes we had to stop, so didn't get to do as many as we would have liked. TFTC.
We have had such an enjoyable time walking around Tower Hill today. We are very happy to be visiting charters towers, and are enjoying the history and the beauty of this town.
It was lovely to find this old one up on top of the hill.
Log signed.
Thanks Dave32

We decided to start caching a little bit earlier than usual - best decision ever as it started showering later in the morning and then it just rained all afternoon.
We completed the tribe series as well as many other interesting caches north of Charters Towers.
Thanks to the CO's for placing these caches.

Out and about caching in and around Charter Towers today. Caches visited took us too many spots with many varied caches of different sizes/shapes. Thank you for placing the caches in their locations. TFTC
Out and about on the road with Swearah and jodsta83.
Swearah made the find here. While I was looking in the completely wrong area.
Thanks

Day 3 of my Townsville Mega adventure with SnappyTomCats.
Following the formalities of the opening ceremony, group photo & trip through the GPS Maze we headed off to Charters Towers for a bit of sightseeing & grab a few caches while there.
The walk down to this one did not seem as steep as the walk back up. A nicely hidden away cache. Thanks Dave32

In town for the mega, using caching as a guide to show us the best of what the region has to offer.
An oldie can't be ignored, so a short walk down the hill and it was soon found.
Find #12464 @ 07:46
Thanks Dave32 for giving us a reason to visit.

Day 3 of our Townsville Mega event weekend. Out early with hevwalker for a walk along the river doing an adlab and a couple of caches before going to GZ to the official opening and a quick run through the Maze. Then we headed of to Charters Towers to do touristy stuff and find a few caches.. Got this one on the way to an adlab. TFTC
While one half of the team sat in the shade of the tree, I trekked over to gz. Hahaha, he says he was supervising. Tftc
Eagles circling as we hunted for this one. So majestic.
It’s Mega time once again!! Woo hoo!! Love these epic road trips. This time the plan is Canberra to Narromine to Cunnamulla to Blackall, a detour via Winton and then swinging back to Charters Towers before the main event in Townsville. Will see if the April rains and flooding detour us! Thanks to everyone who placed and maintained all these caches that enabled us to have a wonderful holiday! Thanks for the cache.

Day 11 of the long road trip from Western Australia to Townsville, Queensland.
Today was caching south of Charters Towers then north of the town where a first to find was jagged before returning and caching within Charters Towers. The second Adventure Lab and associated Bonus cache was also completed.
This cache was found without problems. Log signed and the cache returned as it was found.

Day 6 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
Today we headed from Emerald to Charters Towers. This is our last stop before arriving in Townsville tomorrow. An easy day of driving to collect some counties and a handful of caches along the way. Managed to find another cabin for some air conditioned comfort (our car air con is broken!) then decided to do the Tower Hill caches before retiring for the night.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

We arrived in Townsville on 11th for the MEGA Event as the Tour de Ville Team - TMZ59, Patrol14, Peppa and me and decided to do a few trip about the outer reaches of the area and we all needed this LGA I think.
We had a very over priced lunch in Charters Towers, the smallest wrap I've ever seen and a coffee almost $20. Should have had a sandwich about $5 cheaper but nothing had prices on them.
We needed this oldie to boost our numbers of old caches.
We searched around some rocks to find this cache and soon had the log signed before replacing as found. Favourite point given. TFTC

Fifth day of our trip to Townsville for the MEGA and we (Peppa, TMZ59, Imbunda and I - TDV-TIPP) are on our way to Charters Towers for a drive.
Great views up here and great place for a cache. SL then returned as found.

Another day in Townsville… another trip in the Habanero Sport… today though I’m at the wheel… watch out Townsville and surrounds!!!
With TMZ59 as co-pilot and Patrol14 and Imbunda in the back, we’re off to Charters Towers via Ravenswood for a bit of hysterical, sorry historical, learning…
Back in Brisbane, I created a list… everyone does… it wasn’t as long as others, but it would certainly keep us busy… if only we could stick to it…
I had no idea this area existed… I would be very keen to return to investigate all that Charters has to offer…
This oldie made the list… it was Patrol14 who kicked over the right rock, what’s a bit of environmental vandalism between friends… that’s certainly a unique container, and got two responses from one of the Tour, “ouch” or “hello!!!” and it wasn’t me….
I’m not sure what our new friend Chwiliwr (it’s Welsh) thought of us… Added a new log, despite the fact that we’re “not doing any cache maintenance on this trip”
Tftc… signed Tour de Ville - TIPP ??????

Another great hide as we walked out to the Pyrites ruins. Met Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n at the lookout and walked out to this cache with them.
27,536. Found with minniek during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.
Day 6 of our Townsville Trek, and we headed north from Emerald up to Charters Towers for our final night on the road before reaching Townsville. A fairly easy drive up with a few interesting caches found before reaching Charters Towers and Towers Hills caches. It was fun to see quite a few familiar names in the Tower Hill logs from over the last few days including today ! This cache - this was a fun place to explore and it was a quick find at GZ for this golden oldie. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then continued along to the next cache on our list.
Thanks Dave32 !!

#13924 - 12:09:00 PM; Day eight of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune. Made it through to Townsville last night and headed out to Charters Towers to try our hand at the variety of cache types in the area today. Managed 30 finds for the day on the way to and from and around the town in Charters Towers, with one DNF. Cache types we found included Adventure Labs, Letterbox Hybrids, Trads, Multis, Unknown (Puzzle), Wherigos, a virtual and an earthcache. All caches were found in good order unless noted in the log and where required each has been signed L.L10n & Sdl or vice versa. Another found with assistance from Tronador. TFTC Dave32
This is day four of the big Townsville trip and today Fangsoki, Crew 153, 1MinnieMoo, Pprime and I are heading out on a big western loop of the itinerary. It's exciting to head south-west this far and see some parts of Queensland I've not seen before! And we're now in Charters Towers which I've seen photos of, and excited to see myself.
Over lunch, I realised we would head up to Towers Hill in the afternoon, and this made me happy; I wanted to visit Towers Hill and hadn't studied the itinerary enough to realise it would happen. Anyways, it was good to come here mid-afternoon.
It was still warm out though, but the area was popular with locals and what turned out to be geocachers around. I had just answered a phone call and was lagging behind the others, as I'm kinda still at work this week (on call at least).
Somewhat oblivious to the world around me, I wandered up the road, then down the track where I'd seen the others disappear. Yet somehow when I caught up, I was alone in my looking. Semi-distracted saying goodbye to the phone call, MinnieMoo appeared to help with the hunt and made short work of the find.
Just after 14:30 we signed the logbook and replaced as found. A wild sighting of cosmonaut97 is what had kept the others. And so, our now bigger group wandered farther down to look at the ruins overlooking part of the town.
What a definitely interesting place to visit. I could spend more time here, if given the chance. So many tracks to follow and scenery to see. But happy today making a find on this older geocache and enjoying what I can. Thanks for this smiley, Dave32

Wandered down for this oldie! Took a bit more searching here as well, glad to see it was not damaged by the fire/ burn off that has happened recently.

Day 4 of the Trudge to Townsville for our group, now with the addition of Pprime, who has finally made it up here to join Fangsoki, Captain Terror, Crew153 and I. We were doing the Adventure Lab here as well as making a beeline for this old cache, when we noticed some people coming away from the cache. Hey cosmonaut97, fancy seeing you here! A quick chat and a pic to send through to a very jealous SaintsMadHouse, and it was time to head on for more adventures.
Thanks for the cache Dave32.

I was invited on an early morning drive with Sheridan (from Jacs Team) and Vic (from Waz and Vic) for some caches in the Charters Towers area. We had no set plans, just a few on a wish list and a few we both had solved. It was again another fun day with these two ladies. I like caching with these two, the simplicity in our caching day, the stories, the banter and the laughs were just all day; nothing is a problem, thank you.
We collected some nice caches and a very different adventure lab on the way in from Townsville, we even left a fun little multi for our return home. The day saw us collecting a whereigo, some trads, a couple of old caches, some nice D/T caches. There was a virtual and a couple of puzzles, some more adventure labs, a bite to eat and a stop off to collect some Shinny little disc thingies. An absolute great day. All logs were signed with the three names and all caches replaced as found.
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides.
I am passing on a favourite for this cache, its age and with that it can still trick you up, lol.

As we rolled into town this arvo we headed straight up Towers Hill to check out the view and to find this cache. The view didn’t disappoint, nor did the cache. ?? Thanks to the good hint this cache was quickly found.
Thank you. ??
Thank you. ??
**This Cache:**
Great to be able to find a 2004 hidden cache up here, it only makes sense because this is the first place I would put a cache too!
I was all alone on the track today so was able to make a quick find without the threat of muggles!

**Today:**
Day 5 of my road trip from Canberra - Townsville Mega Event!
Today was laid back, I had made excellent time and only needed to get from Pentland - Townsville! I spent almost the entire day in Charters Towers! I initially only had a couple of caches planned, but I fell in love with the caching and town itself and ended up spending all the time I could until I had to be in Townsville to meet someone at the airport!
Wow, caching in Charters Towers was just fantastic, super high quality hides and a very cool town with lots to see. It was a highlight of my trip!
