We were expecting to be back home in 2 to 3 weeks but friends in Geraldton have became worse with cancer and we are heading over there to give as much help as we can.
We hope to be back before the end of July but can not even promise that,
We hope this will be ok.

We realise this one has been off line for awhile but we are still in Far North Queensland enjoying a holiday.
We will get to repair this one as soon as we get back home.

We came past here and re hid another container and reworked the cache page.
Unfortunately we missed another cache that is too close to GZ.
We will not be able to get to this one again until we return from interstate.
Apologies' for the inconvenience.

looks like they have done a lot of work here and some of the clues are now missing, we will fix in the next three weeks when work slows down again.
OzHockeyChick and RoamingHowie had planned this trip whilst in lock down. GT37 and I were fortunate to be able to join them. Today is the second day of our trip. There was no way that GT was going to miss this one when she noticed the date on it. There was some sort of festival happening so quite a few people but that made it easier to blend in. We walked around and gathered what was needed then made our way to GZ and, after a little confusion, made the find. Thanks for keeping this cache active for so long.
This is day two of the trip that RoamingHowie and OzHockeyChick spent ages putting together during Covid lockdowns. Papi4506 and I are very pleased to be able to join their expedition. Glad we managed to find this whilst it was still in place. Sorry it has taken so long to log. There were a number of people in the park attending an event so it didn't make us quite so obvious.
It took us a little while to find the cache but find it we did. Thank you for placing this cache and maintaining it for so long.

A long awaited road trip, originally planned for the Millicent Mega weekend. However due to possible SA border issues, we’re only doing the Vic sections. Joined by Papi4506 & Geoturtle37, RoamingHowie and I are finally on the road to adventure!
DAY 2: Peterborough & Warrnambool.
A great place to stop for a late lunch. We enjoyed exploring and gathering the required info before heading off to gz to find the cache.
Thanks for showing us all around this lovely park by placing this cache, Team Crackers

Day #2 of the adventure in Western Victoria. We are now on the 9th iteration of this trip after adding a diversion to Peterborough to meet a UBD challenge. Previous iterations including Millicent, no Millicent, Millicent and no Millicent again thanks to the archaic border rules. Today we are exploring Peterborough and Warrnambool before arriving in Portland for a few days.
A great spot for us to stop for a late lunch before setting off on this cache. A festival with live music was happening nearby. We gathered the info around this excellently equipped park and headed off to GZ. A little confused at first, we soon found the cache hidden away.
Thanks Team Crackers for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

Harrowang have done quite a few of these Wooden Work caches over the years. Always fun to do, with or without children. Today we had Beavar, our daughter, daughter-in-law and granddaughter to help with counting and waypoints and fun in the playground, maze and flying foxes. Having worked out GZ, Be from Beavar and Mrs Harrowang left the others playing, while they continued their walk to the cache site. SL at 11.48am TNLN, but took some photos along the way. #8082 TFTC Team Crackers - gets a favourite point for the fun we had.
A nice walk - there was even some intermittent sun! Mrs Harrowang and B from Beavar went on ahead to get this one. Took TB. TFTC
After failing at the final location last time, I wanted to revisit this (and the park it lived in). Did this as part of a circuit from the breakwater to Thunder Point, through the bike tracks, around to Lake Pertobe, and then back along the shoreline.
The Lake Pertobe part was quite scenic and very green. Found this one quite quickly this time. Thanks for the cache.

TFTC, a nice walk to a spot with no muggles. Dropped Pew Pew the trackable in the cache here. We hope you have some good adventures.
Found on 30/06/21 winter school holidays with the kids. Got a little lost, but thankfully we had to backtrack and found my bank card I didn’t even realise had dropped out of my pocket!
Thanks for this cache!

Well that wasn't easy!! Thankfully a local ranger passed us and helped give us a few hints! Great hunt though!!

Travelled down to Warrnambool for the weekend, primarily to do a CITO on Saturday morning but also to grab a few choice geocaches that I have been eyeing off for some time. Also the obligatory market required to keep MuggleWifeDoes happy
A nice wander around the park today, managed to restrain myself from competing for the playground equipment with toddlers
Container found at GZ after a short search.
**Thanks for placing this cache Team Crackers**

Adult kids took me out for a lovely picnic lunch at Lake Pertobe, and being Mother's Day and all, helped me/let me drag them along, to find a few geocaches.

Is there a better playground area in Victoria? The Bruces say not any we’ve seen - it caters to teens as well as littler ones. So I wrote when we DNFd here in 2019, and we’ve seen nothing since to change our minds. Today the find was exactly where the hint/coords said it would be. Thanks Team Crackers
Took a bit of scratching around to find it but eventually did. Some unusual items in this cache when I found it.
A recent trip here saw me finding the clues for this. A plausable GZ but not much time. Tonight needing a walk after dinner ee made it to GZ. I was greatful it was a regular as GZ was quite a mess but we were lucky and found it.
Thanks to Team Crackers for the placement and fun.

Covid-19 restrictions are now lifted and Geocaching is allowed so it is back on line.
Due to the new Covid 19 restrictions Geo Caching is not a reason to be out so we are disabling our caches untill safe to enable again.

we are staying in Warrnambool for a few days, we decided to try this cashe, we got to the last location and couldn’t find it.
A good day for some more Warrnambool exploration today
First up ??
A stroll around the lake before the crowds got out of bed
Thus the wooden works were deserted allowing for a peaceful gathering of the coords I needed.
The stroll turned out to be a bit longer than I had expected,
so I returned back to the geomobile and headed for a parking spot from which I could stroll to GZ,
and then go explore the city centre
I headed on down the hill and ..
.. uh oh !! The railway crossing has been temporarily closed [:o]
So I temporarily detoured around the fences and got to the other side of the tracks
A bit more wandering,
and GZ was found.
A turkey scratch around,
and the cache too was found

Discovered the coordinates another day when at the park and then today did a walk to find the cache. Thanks the kids loved this one
I’m really sad to be putting a dnf here as we had so much fun figuring it out. Such a beautiful day out in the ‘Bool today...
The two older kiddies not overly interested in the playground, I thought this was going to be nice and quick.... oh wait... there’s paddleboats on the lake... think again, mum!! So half an hour and $40 later, we’re back on task (if people tell you GC is free, don’t believe them!! ). All the way around to the flying fox and I’m pooped pushing a heavy-duty pram through lush, ankle deep grass, but I’m on a mission...!! Turn around, no big kids!! WTF...???!!! Omg. There they are, and yes, of course they’re arguing over the flying fox... so I just kept going and made them catch up (after all, I had momentum on my side. If I stopped now, there was no getting through that grass!!) Arriving at gz, we searched for another good 30min, but to no avail. so all up about 2.5hrs, but no sauce.
I am dead keen to get back and turn this frown upside down though. And when we do, there’ll be a fave for the cache as well! Thanks for bringing us here, Crackers, can’t wait to get back!! ️

Another one of this series that I have found over the years. This one was a good one with the clues working well. So made my way through and calculated the coords to GZ, took a while to find cache but that was because I started at the wrong spot, finally got there. TFTC
Left the motel on way to home via stop I won’t give and finally got it. I don’t know why I did not tried hard enough yesterday now I am happy that got it with good condition
enjoyed myself to found it

This one would have been so much simpler had i not misread the second question. Ended up having to revisit the bridge after working out my first GZ at the second playground and knew straight away that it wasn't right.
With a new GZ calculated we drove around to the nearest parking location and with a bit of parkour to gain access to the track made my way to the hide. Fortunately the hint put me on the right side and the cache was found soon after.
Considering this cache has now been in this location for over 8 years it was still in great condition. Thx Team Crackers for this one, another find on my list of the 500 oldest active Victorian caches. Cheers

It is a nice park !

After 3 hours of trying(!), heymissjo and I had to give this a DNF, which was a shame because it hit a few challenge boxes for us.
We're pretty sure we had the right area, but can't make sense of the clue in that location.
Great park though!

Sadly after three hours and yes possibly some detours, The Welder and I were unable to locate the cache. But with rain getting heavier and other caches on our sites today, we will have to give this one a miss.
Geokid, Jake had a ball answering the questions this morning and playing on the equipment! TFTC!!!!
Found early this morning whilst visiting from Melbourne. Surprised to see a Wooden Work cache here. The CO must travel far afield. The kids had a great time yesterday on the flying fox and in the maze. In good condition.
A wooden work cache, must be a crackers cache. Seem to have found a few of them this weekend out this way. This one caused me grieve, not because of the calculations, I made sure I went early sunday morning so no juniors around, made very quick work of the calculations, they seemed reasonable, but spied a closer spot to park and walk to the final from. Relocated the car, but the gate was closed and it looks like it had being closed for some time with big trespassers will be shot on sight signs, I'm not going that way. Anyhow while here a collected a couple of multi's, DNFéd a trad. Collected some co-ordinates for our final hide, then jumped back in the car and headed around to where we came from, took the long walk past the flying fox (no I wasnt tempted), and was soon at GZ questioning if it was the right spot, bt a bit of a hunt and the log was soon signed. TFTC.
Having already worked out co-ords for Gz previously and running out of time, today was the day to add my name to the logbook. Cigc. Tftc
kenare and I worked this one out last year, she has since found it, but today was the first time I'd been back here since. I seriously can't believe we missed it last time!! Today was the day to make amends!! LOL. TFTC
It was strange that this one went missing straight after a maintenance check but BTMC18 very kindly has put a repalcement container there for us to keep this one active until our next visit.
Thanks again for your help

Well it was a perfect day for a walk at Lake Pertobe.
All seemed in order and lining up with GZ. But all did not reveal the prize. Found 4 full stubbies and one empty though. Thankyou for the multi and the exercise, cheers bmtc18

Is there a better playground area in Victoria? The Bruces say not any we’ve seen - it caters to teens as well as littler ones. I was keen to see the log for this as I remember counting tyres with the Fullerton Five back in 2017, but either we signed it and didn’t log it, or we logged it and didn’t sign it and then got unlogged. Either way, we had no smiley here. This time gz looked good but I couldn’t spot the cache despite the recent maintenance. Thanks Team Crackers - we’ll be back next Easter anyway
We had to go to Casterton today so did a bit of a detour here and happy to say the cache is still in place.
We have added a better hint.
We have added a better hint.
I was right near this one, but I'd been intending to skip it until I saw it started with a swing bridge. I find those fun.
Followed the trail, calculated a reasonable looking GZ that could have matched the hint, couldn't spot a cache at that GZ. Nice park, enjoyed the walk.

A couple of DNF's ment a visit here.
Happy to say the cache is still safe and sound right where it should be.

Found while in the are with Kenare, who was a previous Dnfer. Thanks for the hide in this nice area.
Down this way with Wozzle68 looking for a few caches while Trixie is getting her service done. Wozzle68 had his hands in this one in no time, not sure how kenbryl and I missed it last time. Tftc
Fading light on a cold evening meant the park was all but ours as we wandered around getting the required information.
With the find made it's time for a shower and to head up the hill for some dinner.

Found on another road trip with Dr Owl, this time focussing on multi's with other caches thrown in along the way.
Wooden works caches are always on my must do list, I've always found them interesting. This was no exception and had a strange twist at the end when we were starting to second guess ourselves and think we'd done our counts and math wrong until the Owl looked there!
Thanks for the cache Team Crackers.

Thanks for the cache Team Crackers.
The last day of Owl and Sushilord's South-Eastern wander and they were on a mission to make the most of it. Times were crunched, priorities were set, and they were off and running. Owl was determined to do as many multis as possible to qualify for a certain SA Challenge cache, so this was a must-do. The numbers were crunched, then rechecked as they put them in an unlikely location. (Owl has a pyramid-counting disability.) At GZ the cache proved elusive, unlike the friendly maintenance workers who were following them around the park! However, Owl had one final look in a likely location before trying a less likely location in different coordinates and finally spotted the well-hidden cache. Great fun and worthy of a favourite point.
Tough call.
1. Sit in a concrete box motel room and watch brain dead tv. or 2. Go for a nice walk on a mild evening and find a cache.

We're currently on a road trip from Hobart to Adelaide, via Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road.
No stop in Warrnambool could be complete without stopping by Lake Pertobe for some fun with our daughter! Had a really good adventure among the various playgrounds, before heading off to find the cache.
We probably should have read through the cache description before checking out the playgrounds - we ended up going back and forth a little, covering ground that we had been to previously during playtime. Found it easy enough to collect all the clues, before taking the scenic walk to the final GZ (through part of the park that we probably wouldn't have explored if it wasn't for the cache, so thanks for that).
GPS was a little over the place, which had us looking in two potential hiding spots, before we finally found the cache.

I was enjoying the nearby playground....
I mean, my son, Yeah09 was enjoying the near by playground.
He really enjoyed the spinning tyres where he made them spin so fast that I fell over and then he fell over and then...
I mean he fell over and the he fell over.
Ok, so I was enjoying the nearby playground with my son Yeah09.
Even Muggle Mummy and way too cool for anything big sister were having a ball.
Its times like these that I usually go and ruin it all by bringing out my phone and looking to see where the nearest cache is.
This is usually followed by lots of rolling eye balls and heavy sighs.
But today was different, today's closest cache was a Team Crackers cache, and the whole family loves a Team Crackers Cache. Even way too cool for anything big sister remembers fondly her years before she was way too cool for anything when she actually enjoyed going caching that a days caching never seemed complete without a Team Crackers cache.
So off we set.
It appears also that Muggle Mummy may not be so "muggle" anymore. She has a sparklingly new phone and it appears that one of the apps that she has already downloaded onto her sparkling new phone is the geocaching app. That realization didn't go without a wry smile from me, but I kept my mouth shut and said nothing (there is a first time for everything).
Gathering clues, our family enjoyed the walk through the park which we had already pretty much explored, but it was nice to re visit. Finally with clues all gathered the final co ords were worked out and off we set.
Final hide was discovered and Yeah09 was EXTREMELY excited to see a blank log book, until I explained that he was far from the FTF on this one.
As always a great experience, and a FAV point from us, Thankyou Team Crackers.

Great satisfaction in finding this one. Took us a second go, and it was a lot further than we expected. An earlier searcher couldn't find the cache and put their own container where they thought it should be. The actual cache was directly underneath it!! More moving and shifting of the undergrowth required.
Cache still not watertight and stuff inside is damp although the log is in a plastic bag.

This is only our second cache and had two goes at it around nappy explosions and emergency ice cream stops, will work on Mr Gezzra for another search day, Mrs Gezzra
No luck looking in the bush- we did leave a little container with some treasure though for someone else to find.
TFTC. We are in Warrnambool for a Motorhome Christmas party. We needed to get our gas bottle refilled and while we were out , we took the opportunity to find some more local caches.
I had searched for this yesterday but I had mucked up one of the numbers. In spite of that, i had actually searched this particular location. Today i had Linda with me and she spotted the container.
Thanks Team Crackers for the assist.

We enjoyed the walk about for the info for this cache. No, I'm sorry, we did not jump/play on those tyres. At the final GZ hubby went one way and I went the other and we came up empty. We decided that we must have made an error in our calculations and so he headed back to the car to get our note book so that we could double check our numbers. While he was gone I decided that I would re-check where he had look and came up with the cache container, which I had signed and sitting there for when he returned. And no, I did not feel guilty that he went back to the car. SL TFTC

ROAD TRIP! - Day two After driving to Mount Gambier yesterday via the scenic Coorong route collecting caches that I haven't found, it was time for a forage across the border with mogni. [^] Our target was to make our way to Warrnambool and try and get the remainder of the puzzles and multi's we were yet to do, leaving just traditionals to collect another day. If not for two DNF's we would have succeeded too. [:o)]
Another great Team Crackers Wooden Work cache. This is the only the fifth one I have found in my many forays across the border. And a little searching at GZ was required before I had the cache in hand.
Thanks Team Crackers for this cache and the series.

So... We’re on a mission!! After our trip to Adelaide earlier this year we only had 8 LGA’s left for the LGA Polygon Challenge Cache. A couple of driving lessons for a friends daughter ticked off 2, a day trip to Wangaratta etc a couple of weeks ago ticked off another 2 and so we have 4 more left in the South West corner of Victoria. And so with our 25th (!!) wedding anniversary looming we decided to both take some Long Service Leave from work and spend a week down here in the area, staying at Port Fairy
So today after spending a lovely morning at Tower Hill we needed to find caches in the Warnambool LGA and this was next. We enjoyed collecting the clues but lucky we decided to walk back to the car to drive to GZ (having walked all around Tower Hill we were already tired lol) ... coz we realised we had got one question wrong seeing it from a different angle!
At first when we parked nearish to GZ we thought we couldnt get across the barrier but soon realised we could.

Container was covered in slugs Some water the container and there log was a bit damp. Tftc
Thanks for another fun multi for this young at heart oldie. Enjoyed the walk and for once the numbers worked first time TFTC Team Crackers
We always make a visit to the playgrounds whenever we visit Warrnambool, but have never got around to attempting this multi - until today.
We started off in the middle, headed to the tyres, up to the other end to the green pyramids, trampolines and bridge, then back up the other end to the maze and flying foxes, gathering the clues in a jumbled order as we went.
Once we had the final GZ calculated we strolled off to make the find. It looks like this area must be party central at times - plenty of discarded cans and cups and wine casks strewn around the place. After a bit of a search we found the cache in its hiding place and signed the log.
TFTC! A fav point from us.

Beautiful day so lots of muggles at playground. Luckily not a soul to be found at gz. Cache dampish but log dry. Tftc
A great cache for the kids as it highlights all the things to do in the park. The numbers at the first waypoint were tricky as you can't even see the thing you need to count whilst sitting in the recommended seating, and after a long search at GZ I was beginning to doubt that first number, however a thorough search uncovered the cache.
Also there is a bit of confusion regarding C, the listing needs a bit of revision as the double arched bridge IS there.
Anyway cache found and glad it was a big one as it can fit a large trackable thanks

Muggle partner looked after the kiddies while I went for a walk to collect this cache. I ended up going all around the park and took some great photos on the way, there and back. TFTC
Fun multi! Started last night but it got dark before we could find the prize! So we come back today and after a search around the bushes the cache was in hand! Found with Tahlia.t

Another day, another opportunity for one suss person to roam the park, count items, climb the tower in the maze and sort out yesterday's fail.
Oh, those tyres! Really? I cannot see them all at once, so I have to go around them and count. Did that two or three times yesterday, but today I come up with a different number. Back to caching school, failed the subject of 'tyre count'! So, without any further ado, new coords are calculated, not far from where I searched yesterday, and off I go. Here, the hint makes better sense. It still takes a few minutes of poking, prodding and lifting, but finally the smilie is mine! Sadly, the natural camo shows signs of people having searched here before me, but it looks like it will survive.
Thanks for another Wooden Work - we have collected a few of your hides over the years.

Warrnambool for a long camping weekend - what more can we ask for?
The vulture was busy during the day on Saturday and Sunday, so suss went scouting out some geocaches. This was the first one she tried, wandering around between playgrounds, flying foxes, lake bridges, people enjoying themselves in the sun. Collecting info as she went ('No, I'm not falling for the mis-count of the green pyramid roofs, all cool.' She thought.). And then she marched to her calculated GZ, accompanied by blue wrens, some willy wagtails and waterbirds. On arrival, she was not 100% sure that this is where she will be successful, but hey, she tried. Went into a scrubby area, discovered a lot of things that are NOT the cache (a framed picture, a rusted saw, a discarded jumper just a few of them). Re-calculated, sat on a fence to wait until muggles passed, arrived at the same result. Hmm, no cache here. After quite some time she gave up "for now", resolving to get back to the challenge later this weekend.

Having already grabbed the Traditional while the younger kids played eighthknox and I moved onto collecting the info required for this Multi. With all the numbers collected we made a walk towards GZ when my daughter began having a meltdown over the fact that we were walking past playgrounds that she wanted to play on. After finally getting to GZ and finding the cache the children were rewarded with a play on said playgrounds TFTC
Found it after reading a couple of older posts. The spot was obvious, but there was a lot of poking required...
Left nothing and wasn't going to take anything, but then removed some things I didn't believe should be inside a cache-container: a plastic bag, a bread-bag-plastic-clippy-thingy, an unwrapped / unpacked biscuit and a condom plus its wrapper. Don't know if it was muggles or just somebody who thought that would be funny, but I have to admit I couldn't see the joke in that. Thankfully, the 4 year old geokid was pretty clueless (he was just a bit unhappy that I wouldn't let him have the biscuit) and in the end I let him have one of the stickers to make up for the "cleaning effort" we did...

The kids continued to run a muck at the playground but some still wanted to join us to find another cache. The multi took us to the park highlights and along the park run track I ran earlier in the morning. Nanton34 came up with the goods with the cache at GZ and flying fox and boat rides followed. tftc
Thanks to queen K8 for the previous detailed log! Made the task of doing this multi much easier. Here for a week but it's not going to be long enough
Well, it's my last day without the boys here, so I decided to head out geocaching fairly early. I solved this one easily before leaving. I returned to Lake Pertobe to have another go at this cache. I can't begin to tell you the number of hours I have spent or the number of kilometres I have walked trying to solve this wretched cache!!!
I parked beside a playground, then walked towards one of my possible GZs. But it was not right. So I retraced my steps and checked all the clues. While I was back at the beginning, I was close enough to retrieve the nearby Plane puzzle cache. Then I sat down and meditated on the value of A, the number of pyramid roofs. Finally, I saw something that looked more likely than the things I struggled with! I would suggest that the starting point could be closer to the relevant playground, as there was another playground between the seat where I started and the one with the pyramids. Anyhoo, feeling more confident now, I headed off towards my new GZ. I looked all around, taking the clue into account, but turned up a big fat zero. There was nothing that quite matched the clue, but nothing else that was even close. I was at my wit's end, not knowing how else I could massage the numbers. In desperation, I did one final lap, lifting and looking further in, and found the bludger. I cannot tell you how relieved I was! (I would also suggest that, in the clue, the descriptor be "low" rather than "small", as there was nothing small about it...)
Thanks for the cache, Team Crackers

I am in Warrnambool, camping here with Geo-Sons for our annual 10-days-in-a-tent. A few years ago, they started rolling their eyes and saying, "Do we HAVE to go geocaching?" As we've walked around town over the past couple of days, I've kept saying, "I bet we are walking past geocaches" Well, I think I have got the perfect balance this year! They both have to work in Melbourne this weekend, so I have put them on the train, and now have three days to myself until they return on Monday afternoon! Geocaching - here I come!!!

After lunch and a nap, I remembered that there would be a night market on at Lake Pertobe this evening. So I parked at the top of the hill (traffic jam to drive down the hill) and walked through all the parks and past all the stalls. I bought some Sri Lankan curry for dinner, and ate it by the side of the lake. Talk about Million-Muggle Central! Anyway, the boys and I had explored this park the day before, so I knew what I was looking for, and even some of the answers (like how many tyres in the pile!). But one of the clues was ambiguous - the first one, about counting green pyramid roofs in the playground to the left. Left when facing which way? I had numbers between 1 and 4. As such, I didn't have a sensible answer to the whole puzzle. So it's not that I didn't find it, but that I didn't even know where to start looking. I'll have a look in a few possible places on Monday...

Second cache for the day. Our first successful multicache! Loved how we got to explore Lake Petrobe. TFTC.
We had a nice stroll through this park picking up some numbers on the way. When we got the last set required we sat down and worked out were to go next.
At GZ we had a bit of a search with no luck so i went and checked the clue. We then began searching and searching everything that the clue suggested, we found no caches though. We sat down, defeated, all that work and no smiley.
Mrs Jacko started looking through previous logs on the cache page when she looked at me and called me an idiot. I had loaded the wrong page, and was looking at the wrong clue. This time, with the correct hint, we searched again and found the cache in a matter of no time.

Arrived at the first waypoint late in the afternoon. Fortunately there were not as many muggles around as there had been earlier. Collected the required information and moved on to WP2 and then calculated GZ. Decided to return to our car and drive around the lake to retrieve. Walked down to the GZ and found the cache after searching for a few minutes. At one stage it looked like we were going to be in the middle of a wedding photography session! Fortunately the photographer and bridal party moved off in another direction. TFTC
Well what a weekend I ended up coming up to Warrnambool with Leafotwind for the events and a heap of earth caches and whatever else comes up. Some amazing views along with some great caches. Thanks for the effort and bringing me to this location. TFTC
Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!
Thanks Team Crackers for placing this cache.

After the main event in town, I headed over to give this one ago, as I was approaching GZ there was a group that had just found and signed the log and were just starting to head back but now it was my turn to find and sign the log which I was able to do quickly after a bit of a hint from the group.
