Visiting the Adelaide region for a week from Port Macquarie. Today was yet another very long day. We headed south towards Victor Harbor, over to Cape Jervis, and then back up the coast, plenty of caches were found, and tons of adventure lab questions answered. We had an especially fun and very productive day and were left feeling very tired but satisfied by the end.Very very cool and unique place to visit. Well worth the walk up... and down the steps, one of us counted 219 and the other counted 221 Answers have been emailed. Giving a FP for highlighting such an epic formation. Thanks for the cache

We had a day while our dog was in boarding so we decided to hit the trails that dont allow us to take her. This was one of those places that had been on our list for quite a while and it did not disappoint. So worth the walk! Favourite point that is very well deserved.

Today our roadtrip really starts - we'll be driving from Adelaide towards Melbourne along the coast. Our first part today will be Adelaide to Meningie, visiting Victor Harbour and some other places on the way. Great weather, sun, wind and not too hot. Some very interesting places along an ocean we have never seen before. Stopped here at the Sugarloaf for this old Earthcache - quite a few of these here in Australia and there is indeed a lot of interesting geology here. There were also some school classes doing a field trip while we were there. Thanks and kind regards from Switzerland, Hinni&Simo

Catching up on logging since MEGA.Visiting from Qld to attend the Great Leap Forward Event, I have been caching with geofriends and today we visited Victor Harbor and Goolwa and now on our way home. This was on our list, so a short detour to come and check this EC out.Parked on the southern side and followed the path up to GZ. What an amazing place!! As a few of our party have mobility issues, we left them at the bottom area to read the boards there.Snickersallan and I checked the upper areas and made our observations. We discussed our answers, which have now been sent to CO.Many thanks for bringing us here to see this very interesting location.A fav point from me. Visited at 6.11pm 4/03/2024. Tftc

Great to grab another old cache. As I'm a serial stalker of oldies in Qld, often hanging around nursing homes just so I can hear the line, 'I remember when . . .', I also do like finding old caches where ever I travel. And the oldest earth cache in South Aust was of great interest to me.I've sent answers to the CO on behalf of the BOLD07 / BOLD09 missionary expedition to South Australian. The purpose of the expedition was to introduce the right beer glass name to the locals and see if we can standardise across Aust. But enough about beer . . .Very impressed with this earth cache. Stunning scenic vista! Thanks skippy for highlighting this special place and a FP for the tally.

Its here, THE BIG DANCE, the day when the strategic game chaching is played. Today is about getting in and finalise all those little badges with a 29 feb add on piece. I have a few already but today is to grab a few more and pretty up my badges.I am still continuing on with my South Australian caching tour and the mad collection of caches in the state. Again, part of the BOLD 7 team and now with two extra members we are the bold 9. we are still doing the mad assault on as many caches as we can but with lasers set on stun.We are looking at getting to the Mega event at some point. There is so much to get in. All caches were signed as bold 9 and replaced as found. Thank you for the hides and the fun we had here.Answers have ben sent in by our team Secretary Team ARF. thanks for the interesting area. we did three earth caches in this area while walking around. So much to see and do here what an awesome place, thanks for bringing me here. a favourite point for this cache.

GCM4WR The Sugarloaf EarthcacheHappy leap year day!A group of us are down from Darwin and Brisbane for the leap year mega event. This was on my must do list as I had it listed as the oldest EC in SA. Also looking at the photos in the logs it looks beautiful. And it didnt disappoint what an amazing bit of landscape. Ran into other caches while here probably for the same reason as us. Answers sent in for the team by TeamARF. I have had a great time caching down here and will need to return with the family to explore the area (& caches) some more.TFTC Skippy.

This is a beautiful area and worth an Earth cache - thus here my favourite point! A pity that we did not have more time to spend in this area. Out and about collecting more smilies. Wow!! Very impressive geology here, and the first of much I will see along the SA coastline for sure. So I glad I made the drive out from the city and chose this cache to do while I waited for my geobuddys flight to arrive for the mega. I really enjoyed this location not only for the cool rock formations but the gorgeous views. The weather was really turning it on today so conditions were perfect for the quick loop walk. Would loved to have spent more time here.

The Leap Day Mega was a great excuse to come down from Queensland and weve had a busy time exploring Adelaide and surrounds cache by cache. Meeting up with friends old and new, we sometimes cached with them and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Although I have been to Adelaide before, this trip has shown me so many new and interesting places as Ive chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites. This was one of the most interesting places. Ive never seen geological formations quite like that before. The perfect place to be highlighted by an earthcache. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining these caches for everyone to enjoy.

Being the oldest earthcache in South Australia this was one of our main goals. It was just a short walk to the base then up, up, up but it was worth it! Even without an earthcache this site would still be worth a visit!Answers sent in by Budgietas for the 4 of us. Thanks Skippy. The usual trio of myself, stainless steel rat and Budgietas was joined by Tassie Trekkers for The Great Leap Forward trip. We decided to cache down south around Goolwa, Victor Harbour and extended reaches for a few days, before basing ourselves in Glenelg for the second half of the trip where we cached around the city, the hills and the Barossa Valley with a highlight being a couple of hours on Adventure Island. Many thanks to the Mega Committee, all the helpers and many local COs who kept up busy and entertained. Most logs were stamped with Team Tassie.

This Earthcache was put on the list as I wanted to find the oldest EC in SA and looking at where it was I was unsure if we would have time to grab this one as we traveled North back to ADL, but with a good drive up and the fact we had collected a few off our planed day on other days I was very pleased we had the time.At GZ Budgie sent the answers to the CO and we all took our pictures, thanks for keeping this old and important cache going, it's the only EC published this month in Aus.This was the first trip to the mainland for this group of Tasmanians in a while, we flew over on the 24th and left early on the 3rd. With 4 days in Goolwa followed by 4 in Glenelg we managed to get some caching done in different areas and pull in a select list of caches we all almost all needed, old caches were on the list as normal but also some different D/Ts with some high fav pointed cache making up the remainder. The trip didn't start well with Qantus losing a bag which made us rearrange a couple of days but we got some 4WDing in and a even some driving on the beach to get a couple of different caches, boat trip to Adventure Island was a great start on the day of the Mega too.All caches were stamped "Team Tassie" which consisted of myself, gooseandegg, Budgietas and Tassie TrekkersFound on 28/02/2024 at 18:42:00 thanks to Skippy. for placing this cache for me to find. 12:51 Wow, what a weird and wonderful landscape here! I did a small walk from Boatshed Cafe, through Sugarloaf and the Black Hill lookout, looping back to the Boatshed. Scorching scorching hot! And I forgot my sunhat back in NZ!!Enjoyed it nevertheless! But I will probably be sunburnt tomorrow. There are so many hills called Sugarloaf back in NZ! But none of them look so sugarloaf-like as this one. This one looks really edible Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, Skippy.!#10283

I've been going for a 366 day streak and limiting myself to one cache per day, today I decided to mix things up with a walk around Hallett Cove Conservation Park.

As a big EarthCache fan I was in my element. With the not one, not two, not three, not four but five EarthCaches here.

I also got two traditionals and one mystery, as well as one DNF. A grand total of 8 finds for the afternoon.

This was the first cache of the day, nice to find an oldie out here. A cool subject too.

Answers have been sent to the cache owner.

I heard something about a badge level thingy for writing longer logs... so feel to ignore from this point onwards.

Thanks for going to the effort to prepare, hide and submit this geocache for me to find, another smiley for my geomap.

Mr Dromaniax has headed to Adelaide for a couple of days for business and wants to see how many South Australian caches he can add to the tally. He is in this beautiful area as there are many Eartcaches and they are one of our favourite types of cache. It is rare to find so many Earthcaches in such a small area, but visiting this gorgeous area, I now know why. The day was windy but not cold, and the views were superb. In addition to this, I learned a great deal about the geology of the area. Thank you, Skippy (via the Earthcache Master), for the time and effort in finding and creating this Earthcache.

Over from Melbourne for the Victorian Easter School holidays with the kidlets.

We were here back in jan, and visited Hallett Cove, but it was raining heavily so we didn't get to do the walk.

I've been wanting to come back as I had heard it was a Geological Monument, and I wanted to learn why.

There is plenty to see and learn here with at least five earth caches in the area.

This was the first we did in the area. Wow what a visually and geologically interesting area.

Its certainly a striking location.

Thanks for the earthcache Skippy and for bringing us to the location.

After another costly trip to the Dr I stppped off at Hallet Cove on the way home to do this Earthcache that I’ve been wanting to do for ages but always need to plan a trip without the hound in order to come here.
He would be livid if he knew where I’d been .
Collected info and took pics.
Lovely spot was glad I’d brought my trekking pole and worn sensible shoes as the path was slippery after recent rain.

A quick dash down south again for the 3rd day in a row, still so many caches to find here without making much of a dent.

Out for the usual Wednesday wanderings with the usual crew minus 1.

Today was a wonderful day for a walk in the park: lovely sunshine, light breeze, great scenery and caches galore. I've been here before, gsak field notes dated April 2010 have the same answers! This cache was being saved as a safety for the streak I was attempting at the time. The streak ended and I forgot about the previous visit until today.

Thanks for bringing us here Skippy.

Another Wednesday Wander for some members of the Puzzled Puzzlers group in search of solved puzzles and any other caches we might wander by. Cool Today it was just myself Blackadders and suSHilOrD who is complaining I can't get the upper and lower case in his name right! [^] Time for us to go and explore the Hallett Cove Conservation Park and surrounds. Razz

An amazing place to visit. We collected the answers and SuShiLorD will submit them for approval.
This is a great place to wander about, thanks for bringing us her Skip, FP left.

**Thanks Skippy. for this cache. ** Big Grin

After a Doctors appointment left the Adder late for the rendezvous point he had to catch up to the others of the Puzzled Puzzlers troupe consisting of the Starfish and Fish lord.

With a previous visit to this area for the sole purpose of getting a nearby multi cache to fulfill a challenge, these others were bypassed. Today however was our opportunity to enjoy the walk to grab the rest.

What an interesting and fun piece of nature, another wonder of the world we live in.

All the details have been sent to the CO by another member of the group who has pictures of us at GZ.

TFTEC and bringing us here.

Cache #2075.

Today, I & J plus the little one went to Hallett Cove for a short walk. This Sugarloaf is a must-see.

Did some research at GZ, and learned an Earth lesson. Took some photos.

Answers have been sent to cache owner.

Thanks for the Earthcache, Skippy.

This was day twelve of a two week trip to Adelaide. After visiting Glenelg, we headed over her to see Sugarloaf Mountain.

I left my muggle wife at the car to have a nice walk over to the cache. Once you get to GZ, you can actually see Sugarloaf Mountain. Still, it is an interesting geological site. TFTeC.

This walk gave us some stunning views and some aching legs, but it was worth it in the end.
