We tried searching for this one earlier in the day but had no luck. GZ seemed to be in the middle of grass and we didn't understand the hint. But we were determined to give it another try so returned for round two on our way back a couple of hours later. This time we were armed with a bit of intel from previous logs and tried widening our search to other possible hiding spots nearby. We were very pleased that this approach paid off and we made a successful find.Still not sure what the hint means, we will have to ponder that further. Although we see the cache was placed 20 years ago so maybe things have changed over that time.Great views from up here, especially with the stunning weather we had today.TFTC.
Alone on a hill is where it is.Is this cache really his.Well, I'm signing the log as if it is.
Noticed we hadnt visited this regional park yet and there are some more caches to find so headed over here today. The road to get here was very poor but when we arrived we were surprised to find so many people. Looks like there may have been a surfing competition or something this morning. Collected a few caches before the rain came down and we decided to head back to the car. Had to search around a bit before finding this one. We werent sure what to make of the clue.
Found the cache tube, but still didnt get the hint or joke. No pen with us, so no sign off of this cache.
No SIGN of the hint, lots of new plantings, but found & signed a log that the two previous finders mentioned. Great views ! TFTC
I was caching in the area on a gorgeous Saturday after a nearby FTF and this was the last on my trip. I didn’t understand the hint and the coords were pointing me straight into the long grass with no obvious GZ so I tried my luck at a nearby possibility, where I found a very new looking container with a blank logbook inside. I hope that’s the cache that I was meant to sign, because that’s what I did! Nice to log a golden oldie! Back to the car to head home for a cold drink. Thank for the retro chic cache!
I found a container (more of a small size, not regular) within 30 feet of GZ and with a brand new, blank log. Thanks for maintaining this oldie!
Very fun find although the hint confused me a little. Had no pen so couldn’t log on the paper.
I wish I could say I found this, I was here probably 30 mins. I just could not find anything after searching several places. it may well still be here? But today it wasn't MY day. I shall keep this on my watchlist and see if others find it after my visit. Great location btw, awesome views looking down across the very long beach.
Thanks for the adventure anyway N.

Took a look of time to find, we didn’t even understood the clue at the beginning, but eventually found it.
It is so good to turn this DNF into a smiley. Climbed this hill 6 years ago and didn’t want to do it again. I got some hiking poles this time and it helped a lot. The view is still amazing. TFTC
Luckily all the cutty grass and gorse is gone so this one was an easy find. Kids loved the swags and couldn’t decide for ages
One of the most beautiful caches we've visited. It is my 25th birthday today, so we thought to add some special SWAG to the box which includes a NZ red and green key chain token (could please some add a trackable to this?), a poker token and a dinosaur stamp. I am about to get my boyfriend to take a naughty photo up the hill to send to my girlfriend back home in Auckland
Nice view looking north. Bit of a windy day today, but easily found. Didn't understand the hint. TFTC
Has been a while since I've found a Riser5 cache, that's lockdown and borders for you. Will soon be back up in Northland again and looking forward to it. Nice and easy here in the only place it could be and as per hint. Thanks.
Took a days leave today for a couple of reasons. Firstly it's my birthday today and with mrs c scheduled to be at work (she was off sick in the end though, and stayed at home), and secondly I wanted to head up to the Northernmost Regional Park at Te Arai, East of Wellsford. The sun came out, I was on the road nice and early and I managed to find the 20+ G_2 caches that would get me into 4 figures of finds by him. Thanks to all COs for their hides today, and the final cache find was 33. Like my age. Once upon a time!

No luck today, looks like someone’s come in and done some work around the area cutting back the grass, maybe the cache was pinched in the process?
Didn’t understand the hint. Searched around the area. Lots of overgrown grass. Couldn’t find it today. Beautiful walk and views anyway!
Have driven in from Mangawhai to explore the area with some caches along the way. A quick find. TFTC
Taking in the views whilst exploring the top
I can see where cachers have been searching on a post on the other side of the fence, but when I could not see it there, I went had a think about the hint, and quickly found the cache.
Suprised by the container, and the age of the cache too.
Gave it a clean (some spiders where trying to make the outside its home) and put it back in its hiding place.
Thanks for the hide Green Eagle Maintained by Riser5, and for bringing us here

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

*Very hot walk today, quick search but soon found in good condition.*

Today I went caching before, during and after the Mangawhai Walking Weekend. This was a lovely cache for that challenge: #17/20 tftc! High grass now️ soggy loggy otherwise all ok.
It was worth to climb (I had no way on the map) to the top. What a great view! The way back was easier. Thanks for the cache!

At nearly 70 years this certainly felt more than a T1.5 Amazing views worth a Favourite point. Picked up a TB
Visiting family north of Auckland.
We had a batch here for about fourty years, nice to be back again. We made a tiki tour of the places we used to visit regularly when we lived here. Thanks for the memories.

Stunning scenery! First time out here and most def won't be the last! Tftc.
Found it - track very muddy as motorbikes made a mess of the track. Had to be very careful going back down.
After a successful morning at a motor sport event, thought I should venture further afield while the weather was nice, to look for some more caches.
Parked up at this lovely beach and made my way up the track up the hill. With the warning in the description, I avoided taking the direct route, but even the track was a bit muddy and slippery after the rain recently. Once at GZ, it took a few minutes to track down the cache, which was quite well hidden. Collected the geocoin TB and left two other new TBs from Australia for the next cacher to find and move on. My friend Jan found this before I did ! ...Thanks for bringing us up here Riser5 !
Nice walk up the hill to a very nice view. Great cache container place here and I do not think this one is going to get wet any time soon. Dropped off a Geocoin TB.
It is a beautiful day to combine waking with geocaching. Amazing views and sometimes very steep hills for 2 girls from Holland. TFTC

Just follow the path and all becomes clear. No need for climbing etc. Nice regular sized cache. TFTC
Not too easy, the hint is not very helpful, almost moved on, but my son found it in the end.
Nothing but long grass and gorse. Ignore flattened grass because that's where we went but dnf
I was so happy today! The weather was quite nice (sunny and windy) and I was so lucky that I found Te Arai. I'm sure that I'll never find it without our great hobby. And it was fantastic!!! Such a lovely beachside and.... no one was there! Unbelievable for a German. In Central or Southern Europe such a beach would be crowed with people and the coast spoiled with hotels, streets and other bullshit. And I walked around to pick up all this lovely caches and enjoyed every moment.
Thank you so much for showing me this great place and for the caches. It was a pleasure!

In: A lot of favorite points for the awsome location.

Finally! Third time at this GZ, having not been able to find it before. Third time lucky. Great views. TFTC.
Wow what a very nice view. Thanks! The logbook is wet.

Out and about today collecting caches placed in the vicinity of North Auckland. After my walk up the beach I determined to find the caches around the point before leaving for home today. I ignored the tracks for this one and simple went straight up the side of the hill. Certainly got enough exercise today, I think. Missed the cache on the first pass, but came up with the goods on the second. Cache was a little damp inside. Nice to find a hide over ten years old. Cheers for the maintainence efforts!
Vistra and I decided to spend the day grabbing some caches in Mangawhai and getting some on route up north.
Headed up the hill, and doubled back on ourselves to get to this cache, a lovely view over the beach we had just walked down. TFTC

I teamed up with yorkshirekiwi83 for a day of caching around the Mangawhai/Te Arai Point area. After walking up the beach to locate the caches North of the car park, we then wandered around the reserve at the South end of the beach, finding the caches around there. A nice easy find here and a nice view looking back up the beach. TFTC!

Spent our morning off (public holiday) on a caching expedition to this area which we have actually never visited before despite living not that far away. Sunny, clear, blue seas and sky and green almost everywhere else - had a great time and this cache added some extra adventure. Had followed what we thought looked like leading to a bigger path to discover it was the way mentioned we should not attempt. When I went around and looked at all the gorse bushes at the top end I could see it was totally unpassable the other way - although GAR wanted to give it a try. He came out with a few cuts after I had already been to find this cache and was back on the way down to the bottom wondering where he had gotten to.
Logbook is quite damp and because I had to go in search of GAR I didn't have time to sit and wait for it to dry out (although had GAR been there he wouldn't have wanted to site around that long anyway to be honest). Thanks Riser5 for the extra smile on our map, the views and the adventure.

This may take me some time to get to. If possible, can the next cacher, give this a quick dry out and a temporary log sheet, if you happen to have one.
Thank you
Thank you
Got a little lost trying to follow the GPS.
Then decided to just follow the path and found it quickly after that

Came here to enjoy the ocean view and for a specific purpose - see Surf TeAri (Northland) - but without luck on this one. The scene and the spoiler seem very clear and I trust I know where this cache once must have been - but apparently no longer is. On the other hand, it may be that the grass is simply to high.

After a very wet weekend we tried to find.. Nearly possible... To boggy.. Will come back in the dry.!!
Found it. But the area is not easy, that's maybe why only 4 times logged in an years time. The logbook is wet, but I could write on it. The owner should think of findng a better location for this one.
Solid climb up the hill but always worth the effort to see a great view. Despite it being nearly lunchtime the dew was still heavy on the ground and it meant wet feet for the rest of the walk. TFTC
Grass on path had been cut. Parked up overnight. Glad you brought us up the hill as great views. Dryed contents in the sun and left TB to encourage others to come to this great place
Great views from up here. Did try the straight up approach but soon used my head and followed the track with ease. Quick find but a tad wet inside.just wish we had more time here at such a beautiful Te Arai point.
I came in from the southern beach (Forestry) to do this cache. Great day for a walk. Cache had a small amount of water in it.
Cheers for the cache.
