I have heard that caching is all about the journey. That is all this turned out to be today, with a nice little drive down to GZ in the hire car.
I went for a drive today to see if i could get a FTF on a new cache, I missed out on That so I thought I would get two other caches on my list.
I even dared to open the gates and drive to the spot where the cache should have been but its bit there or I was looking in the wrong spot.
I don't know why this person has decided that they can put gates up on a public road, I wonder if the council knows?

Couldnt find it ,might be missing and needs checking the spot it might have been had a lot of stones laying around where it might have been ,nice little place though
Had a really really good look for this
one - not sure if it has been muggled or just overgrown with long summer grass. There was some obvious looking GZ possibilities that were all empty.

It was a great walk to this one But of a tough one heading back up the hill though.. puffed me out haha TFTC
Not a bad walk to the bottom, but it was a struggle back up, wasn't the most energizing morning for us... We should of driven down this road no one was around no one would of noticed
Thanks for the cache SA PArrotHead

I drove into this cache early in the morning on a beautiful sunnny day
The first gate was open, and bent, while the second gate just was not there.
So, I drove all the way down to the cache on a lovely hard packed dirt road and this became a drive by.
Lovely area however even here there was a deodorant can which I suspect was a result of substance abuse
After doing the locus cache, I drove further up the road however there was another gate and since I wasn't sure if this was private property or not, I turned around.
There was a pile of rubbish dumped near that gate, too, and if only I had known, I would have grabbed the rego number of the white wagon that drove out past me [:(!]

Drove fairly close to this one, a short walk to the hide and out again. Thanjs SA ParrotHead
Thanks again SA ParrotHead, found with the others, sorry for such late logging. TFTC
Out with DPA and geomum finishing off a couple of almost locals.
Drove through the first gate but parked at the second for a short walk in a nice valley before DPA spotted the hide.

Tftc the geocar only got halfway down the road before taking by foot due to mud.. Good hiding spot
Went for a night drive and saw this one found the gate open and thought why not. Was a bit muddy and slippery but nothing the Navara can't handle. TFTC
3979th total find at around 14:32
Thanks for the tip about the unlocked gate - we were able to make this one a "park-n-grab".

We chose to walk down, good bit of exercise. Good hiding spot, must have walked by it a couple of times before finding it.
Nice country around here and, it seems, a lot of it for sale. Not sure I'd want to live under all the overhead power lines, though. TFTC
Drove down the track in the 4WD, an easy cache find for geohusband once we were there!

Fantastic cache with a great walk down to GZ (not mentioning the walk back )
The locals kept a close eye on me on the way there and back, but unless Dr Dolittle calls by I think my secret is safe.
Took plastic dinosaur and left rubber lizard.
Also dropped off Canadian Geocoin to start its journey.

What an awesome location to introduce my muggle BFF to caching, combining an easy stroll to GZ with a bit of a work out on the way back.
The cache in hand after a decent search of the area, log signed and off to find another...I think someone has been bitten by the caching bug! TFTC SA ParrotHead. TNLN - Cheers!

Crazy Geo driver decided to drive to the cache. Once there looked where GPS lead me then decided to look for a safe way up, about 10mtrs away. There was the cache in plain sight. TNLN SL and replaced cache, and covered it a little better. Now not in plain sight.TFTC
Like previous log, co-ord were out but only by approx 10mtrs.
Found in only logical place.
Enjoyed the walk but glad it wasn't a hotter day.

Last find of the day while out caching with Earthlight
Read the sign on the gate -Fire Track and emergency number
Thought better off driving down and walked the down hill track
GPS was off in this area but while others searched I headed to what appeared to be a good place to put a cache and come up trumps
Not looking forward to hiking back up the hill we actually only took 10 minutes to walk back up to the car with 3 stops along the way in the shade

Had a devil of a time finding this one. Loc drifted around the same spot plus or minus 20 metres and had me looking under and around every possible location, which were also perfect snake hidey holes. Had a break, read some logs and resumed. This time, however the sats took me to another area, another 20 metres further on. There I found a hubcap. No snake under it, but I can say that the cache is close by. I wisely left my car at the top gate and walked. I doubt my car could have managed the mud and I dare say I would have been stuck there for quite a while. I've been High and Low now.

We didn't find it.
Found a snake under the hub cap !!! at the co-ords & even tried the 12metre circle search. Grass high & dry.

Our second one for the day had us faced with a chained ( but not locked ) gate allowing access to Fire Brigade vehicles only so there was no way we could drive to GZ. It was a nice walk down but coming up was a different story with a few rest breaks on the way. nice hide and the short message at GZ made this one worthwhile LOL took something, Left something ( we did find a few this day)

hehehe..... for those cachers who don't own a 4WD.... DON'T DRIVE DOWN THE TRACK.... The corolla had a nice time to getting back to the road again. Took some nice driving by Jacq to make it. Thanks for the cache Parrotheads.

A nice evening for a quiet stroll with the Geotwins down a fire track that I didn't know existed.

A pleasant walk into a nice valley just before dusk. Surrounded by the sounds of bleating sheep.
now we have the 100 find trackable we are just getting around to logging it through.
What a great walk with the kids - a place you would drive past but never think to visit!
My legs will be aching tomorrow after the uphill walk back to the car

Fatboy86, the GeoMutt & I walked from the main road. Although you can access this cache by car (4WD in wet weather); I would highly recommend the walk. It took some searching and I uncovered an old sprinkler, but it was a good weekend adventure.

We drove in through the eastern gate, but pulled up about 170 metres from GZ to preserve the road and to enjoy the last part of the journey by foot. The cache was eventually found and we were back in the car just before the next rain shower [^].
Thanks Parrothead.

A nice walk from the main road, could have been warmer that night. Found with notentirelysure85 and drunken monkey chief.
Found about 8m from where the GPSr said it should be. Nice little freezing cold walk. Needed the exercise. TNLN TFTC
Needed the walk, so went in on shanks pony from the upper gate. Nice walk. Surprised some mtn biking muggles when I popped out from GZ.

I've been looking at this cache for a while, as it's rather close to home, intending to go for a bit of a drive to collect, so today was finally it! We entered from the 'bottom' side, then took the 13-month old Fairmont for a bit of a mudbash On finding the cache, I was disappointed not to find the sheep carcass that JadedOptimist mentioned previously. Oh well, now I'll have to go and BUY my Christmas dinner! TFTC.
More off-roading in the geo-commodore. Turned this into a driveby. Chased a few bunnies after finding the cache, and even discovered a rather 'flat' sheep carcass which should amuse Mr O'Cholio if he ever gets to this cache. Took coin. TFTC.
Found with Selfpower, the duffman, the dreaded weasel and Kat. left secret agent mouse Geocoin.
Found on a night out caching with Foxzami, The Duffman, Kat & DreadedWeasel.

We looked and we looked but we did not find. The grass is very high!!
This might need checking. Went there with Gum-Ako and yes we were tired, yes it has been two years since we found this one, so the memory is hazy, yes it is very overgrown, BUT things didn't look the same. Might need to double check it, since it has been a year since it was found.
What a great track- our street map said it doesn't exist. Saw a snake out here today (brown) so watch it anyone intending to go here. Took a brush and left an orange. TFTC
Frustrating poor reception in the valley had the sat loc drop out during the search. Had to clamber back up the hill (twice!) to regain reception. Then, found at last! Thanks for the cache Parrothead.
Could have driven to the cache but thought we would walk off the chocolate cake we had for lunch! Once at GZ the cache was found quickly. We remembered the Geocoin when we got back to the car but there were no volunteers to run back down to get it.
There was much less water and mud than what we expected.

The Puddleduck farmers and their dog found this cache today. It started to rain the minute we found it so hastily wrote the log and replaced it. TNLN. I think it needs a new log book. It was an enjoyable walk down but a wet and slippery one on the way back!
We braved the walk, certainly got the heart pumping on the way back up, but we're glad we did. I don't think the coupe has the clearance to drive down that track
Caught a glimpse of many wrens in the shrubbery on the way. Kilo had a whole paddock of sheep fleeing with her sheep noises.

Took two tries. The first time we walked it and it was stinking hot and humid! The second time took drive by option and found it in 10 mins. Took spider and stickers and left a pack of make your own stickers and balloon.

Took the drive through option and when we got to the gate on the way out wondered if it was the right option as there was no clutch left in the car, on further inspection it was only a stick we picked up and jammed the works up underneath.
Apartm from that what a wonderful little track that I would have never gone down..

Finally we made the effort to do this one, less than 2km from our home! An easy one, first for the day to get the geckolings into the caching spirit - worked a treat. We drove right down and out the other end. Took the snail and left the frog and the superhero bean. Thanks! GGG
