Out and about in Dubbo today, exploring and caching in the area. Amazing seeing so many pine trees in a cemetery. Great to find an older cache too. TFTC
Found during a road trip around Central NSW. A quick find in this quiet spot. TFTC
Found cache in the open.... Put back in safer place. Cache in good condition.
A loose plan was hatched for a 3-week road trip with RoamingHowie to explore locations in Country NSW wed not been to before and of course, find a cache here and there.DAY TEN: Exploring Dubbo. A nice oldie in a hidden cemetery. Another case of somewhere Id not have visited or known about had it not been for caching. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, vra ~~
It was time for the traditional post Christmas road trip. The stockings were emptied of presents, feasts were devoured and great times were had with family and friends. Now to get away!Day 10: Its time to stay out for a few days here in Dubbo (camped out at Pinto Falls). This one was a quick find as we headed back to camp for a swim. Its only 37 degrees after all. Thanks vra for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Day One.
My son and I New Year trip turn into drive into NSW and beyond. Today was more about driving. I found 9 today with few DNF. Oh well they do happen.
The breakdown was a mystery, community event, traditional, multi and adventure lab.
Day Two.
We carry on heading south down Newell highway grabbing more caches. Stopping for old and some new virtual, plus more non traditional for a challenge. Unfortunately some of those prove hard to find.
I had lots of fun doing earthcache they brought us to some wonderful places.
I found 26 today the breakdown was 3 virtual, 3 earthcache, 5 traditional and 3 adventure labs with 15 waypoints.
Sorry for the generic log.

A quick find. We love these old forgotten cemeteries. We have a cache in a long forgotten cemetery south of Sydney. Deserves a favourite point.
# 7486 In Dubbo for the weekend with iPlod65, this time being shown around the town's geocaches. Lovely spring-like conditions which makes a nice change from Canberra.
Thanks vra

Staying on a private property nearby that has a cuddly 3-legged cat in residence Beautiful views and sunset to round out the days.

Geocaching takes you to some interesting places and this has got to be up there in the strange factor! Kinda creepy, kinda tranquil and definitely not somewhere we would have found without geocaching. TFTC and thanks for bringing us out here. Loved looking around.
Found. Beautiful old cemetery. Had a nice little explore around. Beware of the orbs tho
9929 Located by baby&Mrs gopher in company with Hans & Linda and muff1 at 1505. muff1 was back to change this hide into a smiley. We were lucky enough to be with them. SL Tnx vra
TFTC. We had been at Eumungerie hunkering down from the recent rain. A fine day today and we decided to stay out for another day. muff1 were also at Eumungerie and babyandMrs gopher were in Dubbo. We arranged to meet at the Zoo for some Adventure Labs and caching. A great day with good friends. No DNFs and muff1 got to convert a this blue face to a smilie.
Found the cache on the ground away from the tree. Replaced and made a bit more secure.

In the company of wonderful friends, refer to two previous logs, we returned to this spot to change our DNF to a smile. On reading the previous logs it appears the owner did not get around to replacing this cache but another cacher did, 14 months later! Where was all the other DNF's, it would be very strange not to have anyone else look for this cache.
A lovely place to explore here. SL TFTC

This is a very historic place and I wouldn’t have known it existed if not for the cache. Lovely bushy walk.
Found it! Easy find. As mentioned in Dec 2019, container was replaced with preform tube (no longer a lunchbox container) and looks in good condition. To get here you will need to drive along tree-lined dirt road which was fine in my 2WD. TFTC vra.
Quick find on day 12 of our family trip from Canberra to Broken Hill to Lightning Ridge to Canberra. Definitely different to what I was expecting. Thanks for bringing us here. A fav point. TFTC.
Out geocaching today with Magpie Cottage. Another great find. Thanks for hiding this cache for our enjoyment vra
Not a lunch box container but still fairly easy find .

I was caching nearby and noticed that this cache needed some maintenance. I had my maintenance bag with me so headed in to check it out. GZ was pretty obvious so I.put down a new container and log book replaced with a preform tube. Hope this is ok with the CO.

Today we choose to to go to this cache as there was a log saying that the cache owners were going to check the cache last weekend. With no further logs we assumed that the cache had been checked and was in place .A mistake. We hunted and we did not find any containers. We were so disappointed as the cemetery is a lovely place.
Could the owners please log if the cache has been checked. It is to late for us as we have moved on but for future cache hunters, so as not to waste their time in going all the way out here for nothing.

A quick find while we wait for Mrs Garbageman to complete the local Parkrun.

#296 Eighth of twelve finds for a day of caching around Dubbo, Wongarbon and Minore. Found after a quick search. TFTC and the opportunity to revisit this beautiful old cemetery.
This was a nice quick and easy find in a quiet neighbourhood. Just a short walk in led us to the cache and the co-ordinates were very good. The log sheet was duly signed and the cache was hidden back where it belonged. Thank you vra for bringing us here and for placing a cache for us as well as other cachers to find and enjoy.
Man we had some map fun trying to find this place. Garmin Nuvi sort-of knew the roads. Google Maps was hopeless - didn't know any roads existed here. Google Earth however shone the way. Phew!
Another great country cemetery with heaps of history. Loved the idea of the huge plaque of historical burials. Great idea!
Found at 5pm on 3rd January, 2016. TFTC.

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.
On day one of our trip we headed from Canberra to Dubbo. The caching was in the second half of the day at small towns and around Dubbo itself. Mostly it went soothly. Thanks.

I struggled to follow the road signs to the right gate mentioned in the description. I found a gate alright and dutifully left my car and set off for a short stroll. well 1km later (which some would consider a short stroll i agree), up and over a slight rise, round a couple of dams and a flock of sheep I wandered out someones front gate (guess i came through a side one), was on the right road and found myself in front of a nice new shiny gray gate with a arrow sign across the road.
went through the gate, the cache was in plain sight, took the TB, signed the log; hid the cache a bit better and trekked back to my car. over the hills and dales. sometimes i make this caching business way to hard for myself. glad it was a nice afternoon for a stroll and that i didn't run into the owner of the property I was wandering around on. tftc vra.

Went on a late night drive to grab a couple caches under the light of the full moon. After a dark drive down the road, and a quicker-than-normal walk along the path, Mrfumbles directed me to the GZ and the cache was soon in hand. Signed the book, said a quick hello to the residents and retreated home. TFTC
Loved old cemeteries. Quickly found cache then had a look around. TFTC.

Found with Just a cacher on an escape from the Canberra cold to visit some friends and family in Brisbane.
A quick grab here on day 1 of the escape and some interesting history as we wandered around. the cache container was cracked so we replaced the container with a spare we had.
Thanks for the cache vra.
