One of our team had previously found this cache and couldn’t find it again today.
Couldn’t spot this one. A lot of grass growing over the roots and some of the cliff gone - so possibly lost in the storm
Found a dirty empty systema container in a place that matched the hint. Thought the log may have gone missing so was about to place one in the cache when I spotted the proper? cache. Ive taken the systema container away to avoid confusion and its cracked anyway so no longer watertight. TFTC
Seems to be still the temporary cache (mint tin with new log) placed by Bennett24. The original one must have been bigger, since there is no room for swags any more. The old log is still existing, but all wet inside a plastic bag nearby. The new one is in perfectly dry shape though.
No problem, it is still a very nice cache in a lovely location. No need to get into danger by climbing down eroded cliffs, and well accessible at high tide. Tftc

We looked everywhere on the beach under the roods!
But at the end it was easier hide!

A pretty sorry looking log book but the replacement is in good nick and perfectly sign-able. TFTC
Found it based on the trackable photo. The trackable is no longer there and the old log is all wet inside a plastic bag.
Bennette24 found this missing cache and kindly put it back together so I have now enabled it. mashnz
Was unaware that this one was disabled. Found the cache log sheet and bag lying on the ground with the cover strewn around it. We made up a temporary cache (mint tin with new log) and put it all back together with original log still in place. The cache looks very exposed where it is so pulled a little more cover over it and it now blends right in. Will message owner. TFTC.
Found it, but there is no container in there anymore (just saw the lid of a small container on the top but no other part). Only found a plastic bag with a few very wet papers in it.
We had a bit of a circle around while we tried to work out where the coordinates were supposed to be, the gorse added to the challenge but after a couple of false starts we found the hiding place. Not what we were expecting but there it was. This was our first find on a day at Omana - great geocaching playground here with all sorts of different hides. Thanks mashnz, lovely spot.
Camping the weekend with Vamber at Omana Campsite and joined by yorkshirekiwi83 for the night. Next day we set about collecting the caches around Omana Regional Park. Saw a probable hiding spot and bingo there it is, signed the log as KKKT, thanks
We were out camping with KirsTim and yorkshirekiwi83 for the long weekend, staying at Omana Regional Park, and thought we would hit some of the nearby caches around the area. A quick and straightforward find here while we are walking around the area and collecting caches. Signed the log as KKKT, respective of each of our first names, in order to save log space. Thanks for the cache!
Found today, although the container seems to have shrunk over the years, still a good fund and keeping the streak alive whilst we are camped up at cliff top tftc
At a recent local Geocaching event I mentioned in passing it had been a while seen we had done any night missions and maybe we could head out for a few hours one evening once the kids were tucked up in bed. Somehow that evolved into me jumping into a car with Cats&Dragons, HKCB and RWIMF at 7pm on the 29th and hopping out of the car eleven hours later at 6am on the 30th. We signed the cache logs RICH an acronym of Geocaching names. I didn’t get as many finds as the others as I crashed and fell asleep in the car for a couple of hours sometime between 3 and 4am. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining all the geocaches we found on our trip and for my companions for making the evening so enjoyable. We ended up here twice after doubling all the way back here after climbing the hill to get the caches on the beech. Oh well. Thanks for the placement.
I received a phone call about 2pm asking what I was doing in the evening. I said nothing, so the boys said "come caching!" So we did, leving Hamilton at 7pm to spend the evening picking up caches. This was my No33 of the evening. All logs signed RICH
Walked past this one twice tonight. THe first time when we found it, the 2nd time when we were trying to find a way down to the beach caches, and walked the entire length of the clifts back to here to then walk all the way back around to those two caches. Still that's what you do when caching at 1:30am in the morning right?
Luckily with this one, on of the cachers with us knew where to look, so it was a quick search before the cache was in hand and we were on our way up to the centre of the park. (again - should have done the ones around the waterfront first, then headed into the centre of the park...)

It's been a while since we have done a night mission, so with a few ideas thrown about we settled on heading to the Beachlands/Maraetai area for a bit of a clean out and to locate the two night caches in the area. The team consisted of RWIMF, iammrwalker, Cats&Dragons and myself (HKCB), which meant we signed the logs as RICH an accornym of our caching names.
Leavng home about 7pm we cached through the night, with the goal to reach my 7000th find, unfortunately the late night counting wasn't accurate enough which meant I was 1 short of that goal, but still 67 finds for the night wasn't a bad effort. We all had a great night, and found a handful of really good geocaches as well. A big thanks to all the CO's for the placements.

I left it as I found it , partially hidden but no rock hiding it. Took longer than it should as there are a lot of roots

Of the two places we thought to look, this wasn't one of them but Daniel still managed to find this one super quickly! Tftc
8th cache for our day out in Omana. Up, down and up some more. There is a bit of a geo-trail to this one. One thing of note. The description mentions a 3 litre container but this has obviously shrunk over the years as it is now a 200 ml container these days. Nice little spot for a cache
Had decided to head out to Omana today for a nice walk around the park (and grab a few caches, of course!) since I had a day off work and it was a lovely sunny day.
My phone seemed to be leading me in all sorts directions at this one- I went onto the beach, then back up the hill to the base of the tree, then back down again..... finally I figured out where I needed to be, and got within a couple of metres. I'd actually dismissed this area the first time round, so had a better look this time. The first thing I spotted was actually a broken systema clip on the ground. Picked it up and realised that luckily, it wasn't broken, it had just come unattached. Cache was found quickly after that, and I reattached the clip and signed the log.

CO needs to mark the TB as missing, as it is definitely not here, although it was logged as dropped off in May- 6 months ago.
This took kakesnz and I some time to figure out. Just about to give up when it revealed itself. Gave it all a bit of an airing as it was quite damp. Thanks mashnz
Thank goodness mojitoma stumbled upon GZ as we had spent some time searching the wrong places. Log was pretty wet and container had water in it but we spent some time trying to dry things out. Number 6 today. TFTC
We just followed the geo trail to the Hobbit Home which no longer has a door, log book was quite damp. Signed as Team H
Out with Team H (mostly Team Westies with a few extra's from the other side of the bridge). Merlot58 made the find before we ventured out to walk around the coast.
We found the Hobbit hole but there was no rock in sight leaving the cache a bit exposed. The container was full of water and the log so saturated it was not able to be signed. Unfortunately we didn't have a replacement log sheet on us but have put in a dry piece of plain paper to act as a temporary log.
We have re-hidden it as best we can to keep it sheltered from the elements. TFTC.

Thank you mashnz.....Nice quick find here , now off to do the rest of the Perimeter Track caches !
Not even close to being considered hidden. Have made sure we rehid properly according to discription / hint
Out with the kids for some fresh air on a beautiful, but cold, winter's day picking up caches in Omana Park. This was was spotted quite easily as it was out in the open with no covering. It seems someone has found the cache recently and taken the gecko TB without logging it as it's not there anymore , after signing the log I tried to do a better job of hiding the cache so it wasn't in plain view, TFTC!
We specifically came here to drop a gecko trackable as the name of the cache was so appropriate. Watch out for the sandflies....
We met the second half of the Girl Guide camping group just up the hill, they gave us a hint on how to find this one - we just had to look out for the geotrail they had inadvertantly created.
Unfortunately the cache was pretty grubby inside, but we used our repair kit and soon had it looking smarter. TFTC.

Headed out here for kids Football so thought I'd grab a few caches at half time with Flax4. Thanks
Even the kids football brings us to places never before visited, bonus that there are geocaches here too! Nice quick find here at half time with Bay7, Tftc
Fun find All items missing from the container though, only has the log paper left inside
Tried looking for this one at the beginning of our day it proved elusive. Gave it another go on our way home and the photos helped position us better TFTC
After spending a couple of days up north for work it was back to off home, but due to having a meeting at 8am it was a case of staying in Highbrook for the evening (rather than face 2 lots of rush hour traffic) so this gave me an opportunity to grab a few caches along here that I've been wanting to collect for some time.
Have always wanted to go for a bit of a walk out and around this park so what a great opportunity. Nice quick find at GZ and a short walk back to the car past all the players finishing their evenings touch rugby.
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

I think garball's entry says it all! The mystery of the dog bark. Great hide, thanks mashnz.

On a walk on the perimeter walkway with GAR, our dogs and casaba3 on a fabulously sunny day whiich is makiing the water look awesome. Gosh we live in a beautiful country. Loving all the pohutukawa and puriri. GAR was ahead of us coming to this cache and we must have walked around the path's corner 4 times trying to work out where he and then the cache was

2nd find on a devilish 3km barefeet walk around Omana park.
Low tide, so could observe the enormous tree from down under. I got to say that it looks really impressive, thanks for showing!
Thanks for the cache!

This great recreation area is huge, it just goes on and on. Fortunately the weather wasn't being considerate to picnickers today so there weren't many here and it didn't take long to work out where Gecko's Hobbit Home was going to be. Pretty happy they don't like to live in gorse homes. TFTC mashnz. The log was wet, left some note paper in a plastic bag.
This was a nice little find for a 7 yr friend that was with us. He wAs pretty chuffed. The log was very wet though so wasn't really able to sign
Found it, but had no pen.! Not the 3L container as in description, more like 300mL. TFTH!
Last find on the loop for me and with a helping hand from alpenmilch80 the cache was in hand nice and quickly. Great spot with some nice views - TFTC
Took a bit of looking then spotted. The guardian rock was down the bank so retrieved and put in place. TFTC
What a shame the gecko has moved on - we did see a couple of real geckos at some of the other caches in the park though. The container has also shrunk from the cache description. This was a quick easy find here today. The tide was way out today and we had fun exploring the coastline for a while too.
