Sad to see this one archived, as there was a fair bit of local history research done, but replacing it every 3-4 months is not viable for us.
Had a good search about the hint item (and even expanded our search area to a few others) but no luck locating this cache.
Nice quick find to finish off my foray with KatMidd and Nebulenz into Mt Albert. TFTC
After completing the nearby Earthcache we headed down the hill in Search of this one. After the youngest had a bit of a play on the tyre swing we continued in search of the cache. The youngest located it first and was thrilled to be the first among us to find it. TFTC - we enjoyed the area and the cache!!
Nice to discover another way up the mountain cache log nice and dry. Owairaka mountain caches almost complete! Tftc!
Was up the mountain after the earthcache so stopped by here on the way back down. Very quick find after making my way down the path. Glad I chose my boots and not my adidas. That would have been interesting! Thanks!
Really well hidden cache. Cache is in good condition even there are some few rain in Auckland lately. After search & search finally I found it even I need a tool to search. TFTC
I decided this afternoon to visit a few caches in Auckland to complete my months found calendar. So I mainly targeted some old caches and there are a lot in this area !
The weather is pretty nice and I will not need my rain coat and enjoyed the sun nearly all over the afternoon. Only issue in winter : at 5pm, the sun has disappeared and I used a light to find the 2 last caches of the day !
Third cache cache today. Location is clear ; the cache is well hidden but I finally put my hand on it !
All is in good condition.

Sorry for the delay - we're moving house, so finding a suitable container wasn't easy!!! Thanks to @sshipway we now have a replacement cache in our hands. Will replace in the coming days!
HELP NEEDED! I haven't been able to swing by as of yet... Is there anyone local on the watchlist that wouldn't mind replacing this cache with a 35mm film canister - I can send you the log to put inside via email or post it to you already printed?
Will attend to it. It'd be a shame to loose all that local info we prepared 10 years ago
This cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give you, the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachemaintenance

Should have read logs before taking kids to find it! Not there, just a small orange lid.
A plastic lid sitting on top of the log could be a give-away that someone has muggled it???
After spending a short while looking for this one, we managed to find a lid, but no cache. Considering other peoples comments, we thought that the lid must have come off and the box must have disappeared. Unfortunately, it's a DNF for us. TFTC anyways.
Easy find, wasn't closed properly so log book saturated :-/ next hunter bring new log book!? Left a white cow for exchange
Good views from this one, even on a grey day! THTC.
Cache had been left out in the open, with the lid not secured - log soaking as a result.
Properly hidden this time.

Log booked soaked but got my name in, sorry I had nothing to help fix it with.TFTC
Log book is quite wet, just managed to get my name in there without ripping the paper. A dry log with a watertight cover should do the trick. Sorry I had nothing on me to do this myself
Wow, chose the most unpleasant day to find this one! Managed to make my way down and back up track without falling over so that plus a cache is a win Thanks!
Nice easy find! it was a little exposed and damp, so i dried it up and added a little extra camo. Also left new log-book. Nice spot, TFTC
Dog appreciates the outing - popped in a sheet of paper as the log was missing.
Some Kind Cacher had replaced the film canister with a snazzy little yellow snack box, big enough for small trades and TBs. There was no log in there, but resourceful wee MatipoKatipo rectified that with help from her handy dandy notebook.
Nearly fell for the decoy location, well ok I checked it out before MatipoKatipo said her reading was more to the left, and there it was!
Thanks to whoever installed the yellow wonder!
Cheers for the cache!

Obvious from the hint where it should be, and the GPS turned out to be bang on, after I half killed myself sliding down the hill! (Warning: wear grippy shoes!). A perfect hidey-hole in said spot was found but alas no cache.
a quick find at once i got up the steps. The rain had stopped just in time for me to log this one! The house along side the track is very exposed to the track and they can not get much privacy at all. I am surprised they have not built a 6 foot fence down the side of the walkway. This is the price they pay for the good views I suppose.
The container is in good condition and there is no need for a new one just yet. someone has replaced the film canister with a yellow tupperware.
This is actually the first time I have gone up Mount Albert. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to go to the top, and i was not sure what the weather was going to do so I will have to return another time to do the other caches on the mountain and climb to the top.
Thanks for the cache

What a gorgeous day! I spent a few hours up here to day for this cache and the multi not far away. TFTC.
Nice easy find. Such a great spot, probably wouldnt have bothered walking all the way up if the cache wasnt here. Very glad i did though. got some good pics of the city. TFTC!
I was passing by the area and was hoping for a quick find. Loads of dog muggles about as I headed in the other direction. Nice find, tftc and I was on my way again.
Found originally as part of rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz
A bit of a steep walk down to GZ, I guess that means a short steep climb up! Found using the clue. Thanks again for the hide.

Its been years since I was last on this mountain, thanks for bringing me back. The views are amazing, and its great to see the park being well used. The off leash area for the dogs seem to get a lot of use. Used the clue, and I see someone has replaced the cache with an empty playdough container, just perfect.
Oh.... it's the slippery slope for us...... or it would be of it were Winter. TFTC
Nice bit of exercise walking up the steps from nearby street. Quick find once at GZ then back down the steps off to the next cache. Tftc
A nice walk on a sunny day to another place in Auckland I have never been to before... Log was a little damp but signable.cheers V.
Yay awesome view. Just a day visit to Auckland. I remember a movie mad here called number two. Didn't sign cache as it was soaking wet . Will need replacing . Container was open on the ground. Tftc
I hadn't been up Mt Albert for years. The result was that it took a while to find the correct rod that led to the summit. However after finally making it there, old memories of BBQ's and playing cricket in the archery area came flooding back. Anyway, this turned out to be a quick and easy find. TFTC and for bringing me back to a childhood playing ground.
Day 5 of Woody and Papa's Mega Adventure. Papa's going solo this morning. This one had me stumped for a while. Nice views and a lone archer practicing. Salamat!
#6451. I always enjoy exploring Auckland's volcanic cones, and Mt Albert is one I had heard of (though never visited). A streep descent from the road and a quick find. TFTC.
Archery in progress as UK me and my Geo-Muggle-NZ-Friend arrived. GMNZF decided to wait in the geo-mobile when she saw the route in to GZ! I swallowed a fly during my breathless ascent which made me cough and splutter for a while, but I have the big yellow smiley face, which is all that matters!! Another NZ cache to my list of international caches! TY Beauty & The Beast.
Easy find during our first visit up Mt. Albert. Great view! Got to watch a bit of archery too. TFTC.
Took a sideways route to get to GZ and as per usual found a more distinct way out. TFTC. Container is all good.
Hello again from Scotland.
Beautiful 360deg views of Auckland. Nice find. Took frog, left coins. TFTC.

Have been meaning to do these Owairaka ones for a while as lived in area my first 10 years !
Found the cache was a little exposed ....maybe not in correct place ? Thanks anyway !

This was a revisit for me. Was unable to write in a logbook as I had no pen. Cache was secondary objective
Nice little cache, wasnt to difficult to find as this is where i grew up. Lovely spot, great 360 degree views from the top of the mountain. Was raining this morning but the paper in the cache remains dry. TFTC!
Parked nearby and carefully made my way down the slope as conditions were slippery today. Quickly found the cache after first looking at the wrong object. It's the first time I've been to Mt Albert and I'll be back in the future for more caches as I continue my cache a day streak.
Thanks!
Thanks!
One of the oldies in Auckland. So one I like to do. The log was still dry, no problems there. Didn't have a replacement film cache with me...Sorry
This was our first visit to Mount Albert, nice views but pretty windy today. Cache log dry so far, TFTC
