Had a good long search for this one, but came up empty handed. I wasn't really expecting a find since it has been 18 months since this was last located. Will put on my watch list and ope someone does find it. Had several non caching friends with me today, so would have been nice to find, but that is the way this game goes sometimes.
On a side note, the falls were spectacular, most of the male contingent wandered into the falls, very refreshing they said!
I will have to come back here for sure.
Thanks

Log book very damp. Found on return from hike up the steep hill towards Pohokura Road. Heard the kokako whilst having lunch but didn't sight the birds.
Found with two companions after tramp up steep track towards Pohokura Road entrance to Boundary Stream. Wonderful to hear kokako.
After a nice swim under the very cold fall in the shadow we found it easily.

The kowhai trees were in full bloom, and we saw (and heard even more) tuis, bellbirds and kereru.

We were looking for a lunch spot on Wairoa to Napier Rd. Overshot turning and nearly didn't go back. So glad we did although Mr T doesn't like gravel roads and this was a long drive in. However, the walk and the stunning falls made up for it. Another gem we wouldn't have found otherwise. Thank you for bringing us here.
Logging few some old logs after missing a few last year, and found this one. We didn't know back in 2010 but this was our second encounter with Skindo from a distance. Great pity this one has now been archived.
We've been keen to visit these falls for a long time and were fortunate to have a perfect day. It was a very pleasant 30 min walk in and the falls were really shining!
Great to see that the cache has been upgraded and is clean and dry. Added a couple of trades. Thanks for a great spot for a cache.

Great walk and spectacular falls, pretty sure we saw Edvern while in there, nice easy find TFTC
This cache finished off a very enjoyable day with a group of fellow devotees. The falls are the best I have come across so far and I would recommend this visit to anyone, brilliant!!. TFTC
Along with a fellow geocacher, we were FTF in this new decade. I've visited this spot several times in the last 12 years and it is very pleasing to see the developments over that time. I was concerned that there may not be too much water as it's been quite dry recently, however the falls had good flow and still managed to put on quite a show. The cache had only two swappable items so took nothing but left a bamboo whistle that could be used to call the birds in this area. TFTC.
Our caching dreams were shattered but now restored again, WOW what can I say, this stop is definitely worth visiting, you should never discount the walk, some of the longer walks offer the best results or views, and this one was definitely one of them, was very pleasantly surprised and it was totally worth the visit, we did a bit of maintenance of the cache adding a couple of click bags to keep the logbook dry, THANKS to P38s for replacing and tiding this one up and hopefully it will last for another 5 years, COOL, TFTC TNLNSL (1553)
Found on a drizzly evening walk.
Scenery was lovely and falls spectacular!
Thank you!

Fantastic day for this most enjoyable walk. Not warm enough for a swim quite yet but the mist from the falls were much appreciated at the end of the walk. Tftc
Fantastic site. Took the motorbike (2-up) on a lovely spring day out to the beginning of the track and then took the walk. DOC sign says 2hours return, but it only look about 40 minutes to get to the falls including finding the cache without the use of a GPS. Had a lovely picnic lunch near the falls. If it was summer it would have been a great place for a swim. The falls are spectacular.
Found this cache on a warm sunny Hawkes Bay Easter Monday.
The original cache is in a very sorry state having a hole knawed through the top by a rat which has let in a lot of water and damaged all the contents.
As nothing is recoverable in the original cache container we placed it and its contents back where we found it.
We also placed a New Container, Log Book and some Swaps next to the original for further Geocachers to find and log their visit.
I hope the owner of this cache is ok with this.
The falls were an awesome sight today with a good amount of water flow and plenty of visitors. Some even braved the chilly waters for a quick dip.
Cheers P38s

Lovely walk to the falls. Have been here before my cache career. Not easy without the hint. The cache is very wet.

Great cache with some spectacular scenery.
The big cliffs and cabbage trees reminded me of an area near Timaru.
It was raining when we arrived and the rest of the family waited in the car while I ran to the cache.
I was a bit worried about how long they were going to have to wait, given that the walk is supposed to take 2 hours. But it only took me 10 minutes to run up to the cache, then another 5 minutes to find it.
The log book was soaked, so I left a piece of paper with my name. The container lid has a hole in it, so maybe a future visitor could bring a replacement container and log book? (Unfortunately I didn't have the foresight to read the previous logs do this myself).
Thanks for an enjoyable and scenic cache.

[:p]Nice hiding place!I would never have looked there if it wasn't for the GPS!The falls were great to.The cache was soaked,so we left it out to dry while we had a picnic. When we came back,it was still wet so we couldn't sign the log book but it was fun anyway.
What a beautiful spot. the waterfalls are just wonderful, best we have seen in the North Island so far.
The caches is very wet, we tried to seal it as well as we could, but the lid has a hole in it.
Thanks for bringing us here

Awesome waterfall views await those who venture here. Well worth the walk. Found logbook totally saturated. Allowed book to dry for 30mins while we at the falls.
Managed to sign a semi-dry book. Placed it in a new ziplock bag with 5 silica gel bags. hopefully this will keep it dry until a proper maintenance visit.
Highly recommended, thanks for bringing us here.

Yes, a very wet cache. Just managed to sign the log book without the paper disintegrating. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here, yet another great spot I only found out about thanks to someone placing a cache here. Highly recommended, it's an interesting walk in itself and the effort involved is more than rewarded by these beautiful falls.
TNLNSL, thanks Zukin.
TNLNSL, thanks Zukin.
Our walk was disturbed by a group of kids who were too loud for the birds but otherwise a beautiful spot. The cache was a bit soggy as it seems that some rodent has been chewing on the box and there is a hole in the lid now. TFTC
Found this very easily. I love these ones you actually have to walk to. Great day out with my family. Even my 2 year old managed the walk in good time. Cache was a very wet mess.... but doesn't matter ! we just left names in notebooks and on to the falls. Thanks for a great day out
Hi there
Yes the wet caches are becoming quite a trademark for us....sorry
However we are back in town for a few weeks, rather than away on adventures around the country.
So I hope to get to them next weekend if not earlier
Cheers

Sunrise found it while it watched the NapDeavs scramble around the wrong spot. A very pleasant walk to the cache then on to the falls... very cool!
Cache contents was very wet (a Zukin & Lany trademark..?), there's a hole in the corner of the lid that looks like a rodent has had a go at.
Tried drying the cache out at the falls for 1/2 an hour before heading back.
TNLNSL
Cheers

Found it after a bit of thrashing around, definitely wouldn't have got to it without using the clue. Lovely walk, about 30 or 40 mins from the carpark even with the kids, so not at all difficult. There were a few bait stations in the general area of the cache so dogs and children might need to be a bit careful. The lid has a hole in it and the contents were wet, we dried it out as best we could and put the contents into another, larger, plastic bag. -Handwarmer and whoopee cushion, +Several hair ties. Thanks, Team Maynard.
If someone is planning on visiting this cache before 28th May, could you please take a new log book and pencil and some plastic bags?
I will do the rounds on that weekend to replace the wet items. Cheers

This was a beautiful spot. Don't be put off by the sign that says it is a two hour return journey. 35 mins saw us comfortably at the Falls.
The cache was really wet though as the container had a hole in the top of it.
No one else around this time of year - I really enjoyed this walk.

Easy find with the clues - was not able to get good GPS lock within the trees. Container was full of water but everything in zip lock bags nice and dry. Forgot to take anything to trade (and wasn't going back for it) so nothing traded. One of the most beautiful spots in Hawkes Bay.
