I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi The Birds Nest Crew
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

For an easy difficulty rating, it's either not there or much harder! Hopefully it can be replaced soon.
We had a reasonable look, but given other recent DNFs we didn’t spend too long here.
Found the pen in the hole with a bit of digging with a stick. No container found.
Found the tree and what I think is the likely hole but nothing in it .. hopefully we are just bad at finding it and it's still hidden somewhere here!
During our stop on the island we walked around, enjoyed the view and the find of some cache.
What a wonderful tree!
Thanks says js333 from germany

A gloriously calm sunny summer afternoon cruising on the sea then eating a meal on this island was finished off by going for a walk and finding this cache before returning to Paihia. TFTC
Went on a daytrip to the Bay of Islands. Amazing views and off course a bit of geocaching. TFTC!
Lovely spot to have a rest and take a break in the shade which was much needed after our second walk of the day to locate caches. Now back to the boat for a swim to cool off. Thanks for the hide
Stopped here for lunch. Had time to grab this small one before the boat takes us back to Paihia. TFTC
Up here via the Hole in the Rock on a ferry tour but was pleased to see lunch was going to be on Urupukapuka and near a few caches. Left the others to their lunch and snuck off to try my luck with the caches that I could grab in the time that I had available.
Managed a quick find here thankfully as time was almost up before I had to get back on the boat. All good here and back to civilisation. TFTC

Another hiking day for D4nielB and me. Today we took the ferry from Paihia to Urupukapuka Island to walk around there. We also took the chance to look for some caches of course.
This one was our first find on the island. We could locate it without problems.
Greetings from Hamburg, Germany.

For today Jul1ane and me bought ferry tickets from Paihia to Otehei Bay at Urupukapuka Island, where we did an amazing hike around the island and even found the time for a relaxing swim in the ocean.
This was our first find for today. TFTC

During our holiday in New Zealand we have visited both the North and the South Island. We saw a lot of highlights of this beautiful country, but there is so much more to see. So many highlights, so many caches! The geocaches showed us a lot of special and interesting places. Sometimes a quick find, sometimes we had to search longer. A few DNF's, but that doesn't matter. We loved New Zealand and we hope to come back some day!
Today we have found the cache "TBN - Mini Island Cache (Northland)".
The Birds Nest Crew, thanks for creating and maintaining this cache!

On a boat trip through the Bay of Islands and this island is our lunch spot. First went for a walk up a few hills to admire the views and afterwards came back to find the cache. Easy find. Nice to have a smiley on this beautiful island.
I found this one with tenavat and Woodstock08. Thank you very much for the cache.
Found this one on a beautiful day out with tenavat and tenavatli. Thank you very much for the great caches in this beautil spot.
We could not believe our luck when we got off the boat today to spend some time on this Island. It was full of difficulty 5 rating caches! Back home in Switzerland, this kind of rating usually involves climbing trees or mountains. As we did not have too much time, we split up, which explains why some logs have our names and some don't. However, proof went to the owner directly or we attached the picture. Thank you very much for the caches on this great location. Greetings from Switzerland.
#458 and #4 for our trip. Team Northwood headed north this time for a bit of a break before Christmas. Based ourselves at Pakaraka and travelled around. Saw heaps, did heaps, fitted in a few caches along the way.
An easy find on the island while exploring one of the tracks. Had to disturb a few sheep keeping out of the sun in the shade. All in good order.

Found as the sixth of 14 found caches on Urupukapuka island. I didn't find 3 traditional caches on this island. One was "Cable Bay" (GC3320D), but this cache didn't find already before me some cachers. The second was "Just Around The Corner" (GC2Q57V). As is writen in the note of owner "It’s still there. Tricky!", it shoud be there. It must be very tricky. The hint "Resting under the root closest to the old track" seemed to be clear and it should be easy to find. But I spent there maybe 45 minutes without success. The thirth not found traditional cache was "Urupukapuka Bay" (GC5XJEY). I was already hurry. I lost the time on the cache "Just Around The Corner". I didn't have enough time for surching of this cache while it was less than half hour till departure of the last farry. I didn't found also the misteri bonus cache "Urupukapuka Bonus Cache" (GC4VGR1). I have found from 10 needed numbers just the half (H, G, V, M, L). I don't know where is the rest. But from those 5 found numbers were some in very bad shape. Maybee the rest was in the worse shape or are no more writen in new log books or on the boxes. Of course, some could be in the caches I didn't found. But it must still some missing. I started also looking for a stages of the multi cache "Scenic Tour of Urupukapuka" (GC6YFMT), but I was lost already after the second stage. Well, it was great day I spent on this magic island. I found this cache without any problems. The hint gave me all needed informations for quick finding. The box is full of small papers. There is also blunt pencil. The tree is huge and amazing. Greetings from Slovakia Thanks for the cache.
A group of guys from work had planned a three day fishing trip out of Rawhiti and I was lucky enough to be invited along. Now I love fishing, but three days straight might be just too much of a good thing and so I hatched a plan to divide my time 50/50 with fishing and caching, if I could just convince the skipper to do some drop offs and pick ups.
Luckily, he agreed, so I worked out a plan of attack to get the maximum number of caches on the islands while I had transport available. Friday was looking likely to be windy, so I chose this day to do the full walk around Urupukapuka Island, hoping to get all the caches here.
After being dropped off at Cable Bay, I headed up and over the hill to Otehei Bay and then carried on to this one. Cache was quickly located in the hint location, the log signed and all replaced securely as found. TFTC

TFTC......spent a few hours on this great island, great to go hiking and finding caches. My son spent about 4 months working on the island back in 2002, and has great memories of it. Visiting from Sask. Canada
Found this Geocache during our New Zealand Trip. Did the „Discover The Bay“ Tour to this Island. TFTC!
Husband took me out for an island cruise and a stroll for our anniversary. This find followed a rather steep uphill slog from Urupukapuka bay, but well worth the effort. TFTC.
At the finish line for the Brecca challenge waiting for my sister to finish hot a bit of time so odd to explore. Stunning views from here. Awesome. Thanks so much
We sailed to the Urupukapuka (nice name!) island and took a walk to the nearby restaurant for a cold beer. On the way we logged this cache. An easy find. What a great tree.
TFTC and greetings from Finland!

Sunset walk from Otahei bay back to camp. First time for us on this island. Will definitely come back. Third cache of the day thanks!
The 1st cache found on my expedition to this glorious island. I have no idea what I was expecting but the reality infinitely superior, with Pohutukawa bursting into flower and amazing birdsong.
Thank you, The Birds Nest Crew, for placing & maintaining this cache.

Today we spent a wonderful day on Urupukapuka. We did some hiking, looked for all that different birds and enjoyed the magnificent view. Of course, we did some geocaching, too.
This was box No. 6 today and an easy find. We were only watched by 35 sheep...

A fine day today and as it happened we had a skipper and a bist to do some research out here
Walking the island is spectacular but I wasn't aware about its popularity, well it's worth to come and spend the day, hiking swimming fishing and much more to do
Well found
Great to be here

During our NZ trip also a boat trip in the bay of Iceland undertaken. At a stop this cache visited.
Found it together with Carane while on a boat trip along the beautiful Bay of Islands. TFTC and greetings from Germany!
This whole island is just one wow after another! Sadly missed the very northwest corner, the geokids (3 and 5) were starting to struggle with the hills. A great day out nonetheless. Will recommend it to others.
This was a quick find. Cache and log in great condition. TNLN TFTC

I only had 40 minutes on the island so I only had time for 2 viewpoints and 4 caches. Very nice place! This was nr. 2...

#701 9:31 am Quick find as we start the island circuit clockwise. TFT(2nd)C(on the island).
#2664 Found as part of Team Uru. I became an 'honourary Westie' for the day and joined the group on their adventure around the island. Grateful for the shade here and also a bit of a breather before heading up to the trig. TFTC!
Out and about today pushing myself along with a fantastic bunch of cachers: Team Uru are what Rebel98, rustynz, funkymunkyzone, Jag50, Aiden29, and skaga and myself are calling ourselves today. All tree cover is welcome today, it's veeery hot and lot's of huffing and puffing is going on here (with me at least)!
Visiting today with "Team Uru" : Rebel98, Aiden29, Gorbygorbachov, Jag50, rustynz, FMZ and skaga.
Great memories, I had logged this cache as found in October 2013, when on the BOI walking weekend. Today sat back and watched the others find the cache

We had settled into our campsite at Cable Bay, tents set up and lunch had before setting off around 1pm to do the clockwise circuit around the island. Boy, I did not realise how many hills the island had!
Our group consisted of Gorbygorbachov, Jag50, rustynz, Rebel98, funkymunkyzone, skaga and myself. We signed the log as Team Uru to save on time and space.

On the hole in the rock trip this morning. Seen dolphins and many islands learnt s0me history and got a chance to get of and enjoy the island had 40mins and got to find 3 caches so very happy. But it is warm out. Also saw tui playing on the island. Tftc.
I'm staying on Urupukapuka for a week with only one day off work, so naturally I decided to spend the day locating the caches hidden on the island. This was my first stop. Two friends joined me on the hunt and we made a quick find. Tftc.
We were walking up here and much was our dismay when a group of children ran up to the tree! We would have to wait.. Then we heard one of them shout "found it". Ah ha, we know what they are doing! Had a nice chat with them and got a few tips for later in our holiday. Tftc
What an awesome location. We already saw the tree as we arrived on the island by boat. As we had a little time left, we went for a hike and really enjoyed the view from up the hill.
Thanks for hiding this cache and for guiding us here!

The weather was great and we had a little bit time left on the island so we went up the hill and searched for this cache. It was a short search and we really enjoyed the view!
