Got to GZ and had to wait for some muggles to move on. I was searching everywhere. I put my bag down to go down further to explore and when turned come back I spotted a likely spot. I had literally placed my bag at the cache spot.
A nice day today, so decided to go caching around the Westleigh area. While on the trail of a Wherigo, I picked this up. A nice oldie. Signed the log, TFTC!
Anzac Day walk with Sharanyaexpress. We had lunch on a nearby rock platform. But it wasn't until we started walking and saw the fence that this cache came to mind. Thankfully we didn't have far to backtrack. It was a nice hide and a great place for a cache.
Found with Jomingara on our walk from Thornleigh to Hornsby.Thank you for the cache.

We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Geocaching NSW! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
Wow another very old 2Dogs cache. This was hidden in the same year I started. Nicely hidden right on the track.
A pleasant walk along the GNW as the temp sneaks past 35C.Happy I didn't have to cross the valley (abyss). It seems a little smaller than a regular 'regular'.. SL, Replaced as found, TFTC The 2 Dogs.
Out caching today before the CCC event and this adventure lab through here has been annoying me as I haven’t finished it. Today I put in the effort to finish and collect the traditionals along the way.
A quick find. Thanks two dogs!! TFTC

No Off-Fence taken, though a few poles and posts were found in the bush nearby! Great to find this old (2005) cache by The 2 Dogs still out here. Thanks GCNSW for adopting and maintaining it. I had a great walk first south, then north, along this track with It's Dozzie. TFTC GeocachingNSW
I often happen to be passing by this cache and I often check on it since it is one of my favourites. Sadly I can confirm that this one is gone.
Searched around GZ for some time. Found a SPOR, but no cache. Maybe next time...

Out today completing the AL.
Since I was close by, I had to collect this one.

I went past here a couple of days ago and noticed the SPOR was still present but no cache. I returned today and popped in a new one to keep this great old hide alive.
Struggling up the hill, I spotted the cache lying in the open, fully exposed. I placed it back in its nook and added plenty of camo. Should be safer now.
I was out doing the enjoyable Benowie Tale - GC413PZ and thought to myself whilst climbing the hill. "This would be an excellent spot for a geocache". Checked the app and there it was, a classic 2 Dogs cache.
I had to wait for some muggles to finish their lunch as they had pulled up a rock to replenish their energy levels practically within reach of the cache. I stood there awkwardly chatting to them with the cache in view hoping that my 2yo wouldn't see it an yell out "Treasure" as she often does when she finds a cache.
What a bold spot to have a hide for all these years.
Log signed, toys swapped and off we hopped to finish the Benowie Tale.

This was a beautiful but wet walk to find one of the oldest caches I ever have!
Thank you for placing and maintaining and bringing me here!
Thank you for placing and maintaining and bringing me here!
The walk down to gz was incredibly wet after the rain yesterday, but once we got there it was an easy find
Great day for a bushwalk, an idea shared with others as we came across quite a few muggles on our way to here from where we parked at McKinley Place. Coming up the hill to GZ, there was a glut of walkers but people are generally politely stepping off tracks and providing social distance for other to pass by. We went to the top and waited for other walkers to move on and then had GZ to ourselves. Sat down and had a look through the contents. Like the last finder we added a few blank pages for logging. T Summer Vacation Traveller TB L blank log pages SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Was passing by on one of my regular bushwalks today and decided to check on my favourite cache. All's well, yay. Dropped off some TBs and grabbed the one that was already there. Log book is pretty full so I put a couple of sheets of blank paper inside the front cover of the log book. Left a few odds and ends as swag for future finders.
The plan today was to have a family BBQ in Lane Cove NP and so I thought I would have a chance to get the oldest cache in Australia (Lane Cove). As I was also close to the 3000 milestone I got up early and thought I would try and get the 13 caches required to allow the milestone to be achieved. I originally planned two hours but took a bit longer but achieved the goal by 9:30 - 7 Adventure Lab, 2 puzzles, a multi, an earthcache and 2 traditionals. Also had attempt at 3 others but was more once they were not immediately obvious I kept going to keep to the schedule - I will be back.
Had a few false starts here - couldn’t find the track first, looked for another in the bush, and then had to take the geohound back to the car once I saw the NP sign. Collected the AL point nearby and then this one gets me to 2999. Favourite for a nice large cache that seems to have stood the test of time (but does need a logbook) - scribbled my name in a blank space out of order. Dropped a couple of TBs I have had for a while.

This is my first 2 dogs cache and it feels great that i Found it under a rock and put a scouts Australia lanyard inside 27/6/20
OCW Oldmorty and we returned to this area to get our Wherigo on. Whist wandering the Great North Walk we came across this 15yr old cache. Nice and big and in good condition. A great excuse for a rest. TFTC!
OCW morty8888. We had a rest here while doing the Benowie Tale and it wasn't long before morty8888 had his hands on the prize. TFTC The 2 Dogs.
Took way too long as my GPS had me on the wrong side of the track. After reading some previous logs I changed my approach ie uphill and spotted something quickly.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Wasn’t geocaching out for run and saw this in the open - logged and covered to make it less obvious
Great coordinates and a good sized container but the log is a bit full - I signed in a spare space behind the second most recent poster. Its was nice to have a brief stroll in the bush. TFTC.
This one I could see a mile away so I concealed it. Looks like it’s time for a new logbook
Nice big cache we particularly enjoyed the humour of the 'Art of Walking' CD in the cache especially after the long hike up here. Nice hide, classic cache. Log book is getting full, signed next to a log from last year.
OCW The_Jugheads on a beautiful sunny winter morning. We found the cache hidden, but very visible from the track. After signing the log and grabbing the TB, we replaced the cache and used quite a bit of camo. It was a bit of a rush job because we could hear a group of muggles heading up the hill towards us.
I took the last spot on the last page of the log book, but there are lots of gaps to fill until someone has the opportunity to bring a new one along to add.

Was out bushwalking today, and went past this one again as I often do. Climbing up from the Cherrybrook side, the cache was just sitting completely exposed on a rock. Could be seen from a long way away. I put it back where it normally sits and dropped a TB in there for laughs.
There are two ways to this cache, from Westleigh or from Cherrybrook. If you come from the Westleigh side, when you replace the cache, perhaps climb down a few metres and look up the trail and see how things look before you leave. This is how people from Cherrybrook will approach the cache. If you come from Westleigh I think it would be very easy to just pop the cache on the rock thinking it's all safe and sound, whereas if you do that it stands out like dog's appendages for someone approaching from Cherrybrook. And it's a busy part of the Great North Walk - a lot of people come up from the Cherrybrook side doing part of the GNW.
It would be a terrible shame for this fine old cache on such an iconic Sydney trail to be muggled.

I have walked past this cache at least 50 times over the years, I never knew it was there!! Great spot and a nice quick find. Think I logged the last space in the log so may need a new one (although still space to squeeze in between entries). Early logs are 14 years old. Amazing. TFTC!!!
A quick afternoon bushwalk with mrsmith00.
Keen to keep my streak rolling along, he suggested a cache he’d found some time ago.
Though he’d forgotten exactly where it was, he led us to the GZ and we promptly re-found it.

While doing a section of the Great North Walk, we had a quick look for this one and found it easily. It was great to see that the original logbook is still there - TFTC!
Wow, tip, stick to the track .... we came in from another direction and there are some serious cliffs through here and bush trekking. Happy to find the cache exactly per the co-ords. Great spot. TFTC!
I haven't been along here for so long but I needed a calendar find so I decided to take the pleasant walk in from Westleigh to grab this one. Thanks The 2 Dogs.
Was bushwalking in the area and happened to stroll past my favourite cache, this time from the Westleigh side. A *much* easier walk in from the Westleigh side than the Cherrybrook side, although the cache is easier to eyeball when coming from Cherrybrook. Anyway, reason for this note, the rope is still attached to the tree but part of it has been broken off and deposited on a rock several metres away, whether by man or creature I do not know. Short story, don't rely on the rope and don't trust it. The cache itself is safe and sound.
After noting a DNF from RyokaD3 a few days ago I thought I'd drop by and check this cache is ok. Sure is, all shipshape and waiting to be found!
Fun find. I came at it walking from the Appletree side of cherrybrook so I approached from below. Good job to the previous finder securing the cache, I tried to do as well. Took nothing left nothing. Thanks for the cache!
Tftc. Awesome hike. The cache is practically on the part do not super hard to find! Look in the cracks;)

Today we decided to walk a trail which has been on our to-do list for a long time; Thornleigh to Hornsby, largely following the Great Northern Walk.
Walking the trail it seemed the city was miles away even though in reality it was all around us. This cache was quite well positioned next to the trail, so of course a must-do. It turned out to be the only cache we did today.
As our trail continued to Berowra creek, a big brown snake crossed out path! Then the trail went further down and at the creek we took a well deserved rest, letting our feet dangle in the cold water. Then it was back up again, over 300 steps to climb till we would reach the civilized world again!
Thanks for the cache!

Great day to be outside caching and a great cache to find. The bird life around here was just beautiful.

I walked to this one after getting the cache in the nearby area. My app said it was only 400 odd meters away so I thought, why not? I struggled to find the right path to even start with this one and initially, I was walking just outside of people’s backyard fences. I was relieved when I found the way to a path that was more hidden. So I’m watching the compass count down lower and lower to GZ and then all of a sudden it’s going up and up and up... what is going on? I double back and start bush bashing only to come to a cliff edge but I can see the path below and my faith is restored. Doubling back again to the path I retrace my steps and the compass is once again counting down. Phew! Trusting the path this time I kept going. I stopped to listen to the kookaburras. And then I was lucky enough to see three massive birds flying above me with the most beautiful call... eagles, black cockatoos? Remembering my mission was to get to GZ, I looked ahead and saw some rocky terrain that descended through a cliff... It was at this point I realised that I’d promised someone I wouldn’t do any hiking today and yet here I find myself doing a small but decent hike. I’m more than halfway, I can’t turn back now so I press on. Finally making it to GZ, I start my search carefully looking in and around the cracks and crevices. And then I see it. What a great sized cache! Signed the log and went through the contents... I took the geocoin and the Continental soup packet for the bin. Who does that? Anyway, cache is replaced with it’s camo and now to get back to the car. I think I’ll stick to park and grabs for the rest of the day... TFTC!
Tftc, lovely walk before it got too hot, still hot though. Made it to gz for a quick find. There was rope to help me get back out! Dropped off a tb.
Quite easy and in a nice bush. Surprised this hasn’t been found for a while - TFTC
Another hiker just behind me stopped for a break at this spot just as I was starting to study my GPS a little more closely. I took the opportunity to have a proper break too and after about 5 minutes of hydration and catching of breath, the hiker was on his way again, allowing me to explore the area that I had my eyes on when I first arrived. I found it after a few minutes, it wasn't quite where I expected but pretty close. TFTC
After accidentally heading down the wrong trail I ended up near this cache and decided to give it a go. Was a fairly easy find and I am curious to explore this track sometime in the future.
We needed a cache of the day to keep the current streak (303 days including this one) so we headed off to this one. Parked at the end of Elouera Road, and understood from where the cache got it's name. It was late afternoon and not so hot when we walked down to the area where the cache was hidden. Managed to replace before a muggle with a dog came.
I guess it would have been 40+ years ago that I last walked this particular part of the track.
I wanting to find a few caches while in Sydney, and "Wow" a 'The 2 Dogs' one that I hadn't attempted.
Like others I parked close; by after stopping by ALDI at Westleigh to get some batteries for my headlight, just in case it was needed - not.
A pleasant walk, catching up (and overtaking) with a muggle chatting on her phone while walking the dog.
Soon got to the GZ, and just short hunt and I had the cache. All good @ 1800, GAFF1, good coordinates.

Stopped off on my way back home, after visiting the Amateur Radio NSW (HAM Radio) bi-monthly Trash & Treasure sale at Quarry Road Dural, to pick up this one. 5th of 11 finds for the day.
After attending Don's Party (GC6764W - How do I get to Don's Party?) I next stopped off at this one. Parked the geomobile in Elouera Road, at the entry to the Sydney Water property, then headed off down the bush track toward GZ. Soon arrived at the junction with The Great North Walk track, which I then followed all the way to GZ. Quickly spotted the hide as I approached, and had CIH. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found.
TFTC The 2 Dogs. Would love to do some of The Great North Walk one day.

Find #1485
On my third day of hiking the Great North Walk, doing the Thornleigh to Hornsby leg today. With a cache right on the track I couldn't resist!
I was a little bit puzzled at first by the name of the cache, as there was no fence in sight (that was to come soon after on the track) but the coordinates were spot on and I soon spotted the hide.
Dropped off the MORLA geocoin.
Many thanks for the hide.
