As with the previous seeker, I was in the area so I had a look. Unfirtunately I couldn't locate the cache either.
Had a look, but could not find, followed description & hint, muggled, so left disappointed.
No cache there
Very interesting location - thanks for showing on our trip
Greetings

A worthwhile spot to stop with a nice clean loo. The short 2 min walk to Joshua Morgan's grave is worth it. Hopefully the cache will be restored.
While cycling through to Whangamomona we looked again but still not joy. A sad place, both for Mr and Mrs Morgan and the AWOL cache
Despite the DNF's we also had a look around and no luck either. Shame. It is an interesting place! We enjoyed the walk though.
We were driving through on a reccy for a cycle trip at Christmas so will have a look then. A shame there is no plaque for Mrs Morgan. Thanks for the cache and we hope it can be resurrected.
Greetings from West Sacramento, California! Papa EGTH and I are nearing the end of our nearly 3-week long caching honeymoon in New Zealand. Only 2.5 days left! Our route today takes us from New Plymouth to Taupo. We had intended to take SH 3, but as we started to ascend Mt. Messenger, the traffic came to a stop and we learned that a big rig had overturned, blocking the road. We waited in the line for about 30 minutes. During that time, Papa EGTH walked up the line of vehicles to the very front, which was around the bend from where our car was stopped, but could not see the accident. He came back, talking to some of the other drivers, and told me that the roads people said it might be another 90 minutes before the road opened. We turned around and hopped onto SH 43, which we soon found out was called the Forgotten World Highway...and for good reason! It was a long and interesting route.
We stopped for this cache despite the handful of DNFs. We couldn't find it either and even some Muggles who showed up when we were searching tried to find it also. No joy. Please check on this cache. Thanks.

HockeyHiker19 and I saw the DNFs but decided to look anyway. We had no luck finding it either.
Searched and searched among all the hints (and there's quite a few) but no find for me today. Met a group of boy (and girl) racers at the bridge layby, who came into GZ while I was there. They accosted me when I came out accusing me of being one of those geohunter people. We had a long chat about geohunting. Gave them pamphlets and I think we might have some more converts. But as for the cache... that's one I'll have to come back for.
Seemed to be s lot of the hint item do gave up & just enjoyed the short walk so thanks anyway
On our tour through New Zealand we visited many inspiring places, enjoyed delicious meals, met friendly locals and tourist AND found some Caches.
So this Cache was one on our trip. Thanks a lot for hiding and maintaining.

Visited the grave and the went on searching for the cache. Found it after some minutes.
Unbelievable what these surveyors must have endured in these days.

Interesting place, thanks for showing! Found it after staying here for one night at the parking lot.
All good but a bit damp. Nice looking Eastbridge component bridge. Mission accomplished TFTC! Blenheim Bear
Drizzle stopped for us to grab this one. We really appreciate the sacrifice these pioneers made to enable us to travel. TFTC
On our way down to Opunake for a weeks camping, from a weekend camping with geocachers in the Karangahake Gorge. Decided to take the forgotten world highway as the scenery sounded spectacular. Another quick stop and a wander up the grave site. Was wandering around in circles for a bit as GPS had us several metres from where we finally found the cache, thanks
Many places full of muggles on the forgotten world highway, so just a few logs. TFTC
On our way to Taumaranui via the Forgotten Highway, grabbed a couple of caches on the way. Interesting read on the information board by the road. SL TFTC.
Summer holiday at last - hot weather - mountain biking, bush walking and geocaching - my favourite pastimes Quite fascinating to be following seasoned cachers FapAndGap and Squirrel Nutcase down the Forgotten Highway... It's a beautiful place and we had a great time caching. TFTC
Found while cycling around NZ. Muggle central here today. Cache a bit wet and log a but damp. TFTC
Found while on holiday from Oz. This sight was on our list as we went along the Forgotten World Highway - awesome, cheers
Today we (Silli1310 and me) drove the "Forgotten World Highway". It is a perfect combination of a forgotten tourist track and a incredible history senery along the road. Although it isnt a long distance we need the whole day to visit all the beautiful places and of course to search for some of the caches along the road. We enjoyed this amazing "side trip". Thanks a lot for the cache.
Sorry for the late log, but during our [journey around the world](hoppundweg.piekar.de) we could log all cache "in time"

During a short stop we followed the path and found the grave and the box as well.
A weekend road trip of epic proportions. Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I plan to carve our way through the Waikato, Manawatu-Wanganui and Taranaki Regions while collecting an assortment of caches for various challenges we are working on. Should be a fun excursion... Day 2 and the long ride homeward.
What a remote and lonely place to lose ones' life... Joshua Morgan looks far older than 35 years in the information panel photo... Obviously a testament to the harsh living and working conditions of the time... We arrived at the graveside first and began to interpret the hint. You do need to be observant rather than reliant on technology in this case. TFTC.

Another weekend caching with Squirrel Nutcase, due to the kilometres we are travelling this time a over night stop in Stratford was needed. Number off D/T Ratings and old caches was our mission.
2pm - Some of these early pioneers were amazing people. Great bit of history here and to think they buried their wives with them some 60 years after they died. Easy walk to cache. SLTFTC

Nice drive through the Forgotten World Highway geocaching in a good weather. Had to check the spoiler pic to find the cache.
Greetings from Finland! Visiting New Zealand with kobolttti and besides seeing the sights we're also getting some geocaching done.
Had to use the hint on this one. Thanks for the cache!

Found caching with alpenmilch80 on day #3 of a 3 day road trip to the Taranaki.
Searched about a bit but eventually found this.
Thanks!

My second day on a cache run to Taranaki together with Slieschke. Today the goal was to explore the Forgotten World Highway and to make our way back to Auckland. We decided to take a longer break in Hamilton to help celebrating its 150th birthday with fireworks and a Time Warp. Took us a while to locate the geocache due to our GPS being all over the place. TFTC
hard to imagine, how hard it must have been living and working under the conditions, that those men had to face everyday back in the days. TFTC!
One can imagine how remote this would have been, even with modern conveniences like cars this is still a very remote area. An interesting site, thank you heaps for bringing me here. TFTC
I was off for the long weekend picking up caches from Otorohanga to Taumarunui to Straford and back home if the weather held.
A really sad but interesting story re his demise.
Cheers for the cache.

Sorry for the late log found on the 5 th after a great days caching with my nephew
12.50pm. Soon found the grave but it took a while to locate the cache.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Took a while to find this one as hadn't properly downloaded the photo hints before setting out. Eventually uncovered it between groups of sightseers. Interesting spot.
Heading back north after getting rained out on a summit attempt on Taranaki. I decided to take the scenic route. Josh has himself one primo resting place! As a surveyor, I think he would enjoy geocaching, and I told him all about it. Didn't want him getting upset with all the people poking about for some strange reason! Cheers for the cache.
Out and about on an Easter adventure in the Forgotten World. Sunshine continues for us and quite a lot of passing traffic. Took a good search to locate the hide TFTC.
Wir sind auf dem Forgotten Hwy von Taumaruni nach Stratford gefahren und haben dabei auch diesen Cache besucht.

Could see the grave from the bridge and thanks to Marco school I had a place to go and then the cache TFTC
Headed south with Zorgon for a bit of a trip through some backroads to find caches some distance from the next closest cache for a stage of the GCLS Challenge. After driving down after work from hamilton this was going to be one long evening.
Full dark by now, so pleasent walk in and then the hunt began, as all the area looked the same. After what was a fruitless 20min search it was time to reevaluate and think about it. A relook at the site, read the clue, and the cache was in my hand with in seconds, well there you have it some time. Thanks for a great spot

Log book is damp, I wiped out the container. The vegetation in the area has been well trimmed back so we didn't see ferns like in the spoiler pic, but the cache is still there.
A nice place and a sad story.
The GPS did not work well in here. And I didn't get the hint. So I search on the wrong side of grave. Was about to give up and leave when my GC senses started tingling. But by then a couple had join me at the grave and I had to wait for a while before they left again.
Sorry for the late log. This is one of many founds during my four week visit to NZ.
The date here may differ from the one in the log book, both could be a day off from actual log date.

Quick find, on our way home to Palmerston North along Forgotten Highway. Thanks for the cache.
Worth a short stop on our journey along forgotten highway, interesting history.
decided to take the forgotten highway route back to the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Threw a few gpx files on the gps and off I went. didnt get to see spoiler photo, and GPS had me elsewhere. Maybe next time!
Having driven down from Rotorua to Taumaranui, we intended to stop for the day but the weather wasn't promising and so we started the Forgotten Highway to Whangamomona. It was pouring with rain by the time we got here. Gps was playing up and the likely spots had no cache. Then we looked at the clue. No idea what a Punga stump was but clearly looking at bases of trees was wrong. Soon found the right spot. TFTC.

Very pretty walk and easy. Took polar bear and left a mini fan. Cache very wet. Thunder and lightening just as we reached the road. SL. TFTC
Found the grave and a grave next to this one. The search for the cache was not so lucky and just finished when tried to go back to the car. [^]

Found on day one of Victoria Rover Crew’s St George expedition to complete the One Thousand Points of light challenge. TFTC, and see what we are up to here: https://www.facebook.com/Onethousandpointsoflight?
Found with renelm and Difool, logged as RAD to save log space, time and trees.
I am not much of a logwriter, so see renelms, and possibly Difools, log for details.

A short walk to the grave and then we became confused. The GPSrs wanted to go past the grave, but the cache was eventually found where the hint said it would be..
We wondered where the wife was burried.. no stone for her?

Found the correct punga finally. nice little walk, and the toilet at the stopping place on the roadlooks very fancy.
Found some caches traveling along the Forgotten World Highway, this one amongst them. TFTC! Nice trip.
Great views from the bridge, and a nice walk to an easy find of a rather old cache, TFTC.
It was 8 at night, and dark when we got here. Stopped to use the amenities, and logged the cache while we were here. My wife was worried that the spectral shade of Mr Morgan was lurking in the trees so I made the trip to GZ by myself. A relatively quick find as the torch picked up the shine of the plastic. Thanks for the cache.
Grabbed this one in the pouring rain. Thanks for hiding the cache all the way out there.
This was a beautiful spot along a river with mini falls. We dropped a geocoin to continue its journey off the Forgotten Highway here in New Zealand.
Well worth the stop. Sad reading the story of poor old Joshua, lfe was tough back then. A nice view from GZ. Thanks Mardonasaurus.
Nice walk, TFTC and greetings from Germany

As the muggle in front of us said "what a sad story" !
But a beautiful place to be burried, only not at that young age.
But good of you to honor him with this cache, so thanks a lot for this.

Couldn't find this one and didn't want to spend too long searching in the rain.
Took the opportunity to get out and stretch the legs while enjoying the drive up the Forgotten World highway. So many opportunities to learn about New Zealand history. Thanks from this Canadian!
After the dust along the highway, this was a delightful little wander up into the forest. Paused appropriately by the grave - and then quickly located the cache. Thanks and cheers from Grandalf(2175)
We spent some time here, then as said before ... we were about to leave and there it was. A pair of muggles turned up while we were doing the log, so Mrs TOT engaged them in conversation, got them looking the "wrong" way and Mr TOT returnd the cache to its possie. TFTC!!!
Travelling along the Forgotten Highway with Alrite and finding this cache on the way. What a remarkable surveying achievement in this rugged and wild bush clad environment. The plaque on the bridge is worth a read too!! TFTC
Had to get one on the Forgotten World Highway so what better than thinking about Josh..
As others have said just leaving & there it was!
TFTC.

After I started looking it began to rain. Thanks to the vegetation I did not get very wet, but it took quite some time waiting. I then checked some possibilities but the cache was in the one place I did not look in the whole time. Not my brightest moments, but the result counts.
A sad place to die, but a good place to rest in peace.

We knew this grave was here but never stopped before thanks for giving us a reason to stop.
I learnt that when Joshua fell ill there some of his survey party went back through the bush to get a doctor, they came out at waitara and went back in again with the doctor.

A short stop after a lot of curves was what we needed. So we did the short walk to the grave of Joshua Morgan and signed the cache.
Thanks for hiding it Quiri

Amazing stop, what a beautiful place. Very picturesque, hence I took a lot of photos. Found with Yetiballer and Mrs. Yetiballer.
