The reports previously indicate that the cache was out in the open, the log book was in poor repair, and I have requested the CO check on it's location. No action, so I'm assuming the CO is not going to maintain. I recommend that it be archived to free the area up for another cache placement. Thanks
A walk around Hastings today was well worth it. Although I must admit looking at the clue for the first bird... people, it is not a duck.. (are we just stupid?). Then we were a little worried after projecting the waypoint, because I'd been a bit lazy with getting due south. Spotted it from the path, so covered it better when we left. Thanks for an enjoyable multi.
After yelling at my gps after solving the location i walk down to the angler club to meet my family and consulted my phone surprised it was close by running to the location i found it easy, was a bit worried thought when i saw a few lighters but picked them up and put them in the bin, cache does need a new log book and container, but all up i had a lot of fun TFTC and for the judgmental looks from muggles.
Easy find once we had the co-ords. We could see it from the track. So put it further into its spot on the way out. Also log is in major need of replacement. We managed to find a sheet that wasnt black to write on. tftc
Great puzzle. Had difficulty at first but we eventually found it after some thinking. TFTC piggysue.
Loved the arty farty stuff. Cache had me in circles a bit, before I took flight. It was almost 2m before my face hit the ground. Already plenty of comments of the paper mache inside box. tftn
Not having visited the Mornington Peninsula before we were excited when Phetlern suggested a caching day in this locality. We made an early start and caught the 7am ferry and booked our return on the 7pm ferry. If little is achieved without enthusiasm - we were not going to fall into that category. We had our list organized (most of them walenators caches) and came prepared to do as many of the Welcome to and Jack Speak caches as we could. The weather was not too kind but again enthusiasm did not wane and we ventured into the rain. Luckily several of the caches were under trees. The afternoon saw the sun shining down on our activities. What a beautiful area this is to cache in. Thanks piggysue for this nice multi (new log book needed).
The logbook is in bits, mouldy, and may present a health hazard for us delicate asthmatics
Wandered about a very quiet Hastings to gather the clues, and then was caught in a fisherman's headlights as I crept to GZ before turning on my headlamp.
The cache was a bit damp, but I was able to sign the moldy logbook. TFTC

Today myself and good mate ahomburg decided that it was ideal for tackling the Jack Speaks power trail. Having solved all the puzzles a few weeks back it was now just a matter of picking them up. On the way down to the start of this trail this was one cache which we picked up along the way.
Gathered the clues at WP1 but guessed incorrectly on the bird name but thanks to the hint we were soon at WP2. From this point we forgot to read the complete description which had us searching in a spot where there was nothing. This error was soon realised and with some further reading and walking were soon at GZ for a quick find. The cache was visible on approach but log was dry. Signed and return to its spot in the same condition in which it was found. A nice multi with a twist, nice...

Find # 1288
Well, an early start to the day for me and my caching partner in crime sedgwickdave. I was to pick up Dave at 7.30AM and we would then head towards the Mornington Peninsula with the principal aim of finding the Jack Speak series of Puzzle caches by walenators. We also hoped to pick up some extras on the way.
This was our first cache for the day and the numbers were not as easy as they seemed to work out, but we got there in the end after first searching in a spot nowhere near the cache then using the hint to re-work the puzzle and find the proper GZ.
Thanks to piggysue for the cache. TNLN.

After our FTF success today, EB99 worked this out while I chatted.
Almost a quick drive by was then achieved.
The log was very very wet

Our third outing to find this! Yay, our nemesis is gone! We had some compass issues - the hunt was fun but not as accurate as it could have been we think! Thanks for the challenge though - very wet note pad!
As with previous logs, maintenance is required as the log is soaked. Didn't have any spare log material with me today so signed existing paperwork as best I could.
found it but could not sign log because it was soaked and spread everywhere
have reassembled cache as best possible but is in need of urgent repair TFTC

The longest cache of the day, but the weather was good and the walk was needed after lunch. Thank you.
2011-07-09 13:27 Worked out the coords for GZ without any trouble but when arriving I found the contents including the notebook strewn out all over the place. Put the cache back together as best I could and had to make a quick dash out as muggles were near by. Lucky the log book was dry so this must have only just happened. Piggysue it may pay to check that it is as you intended.
A nice location, and a good way to see the marina. It was little windy today, but nice and sunny. I wandered around the area after completing another nearby cache. Thanks for the cache.
This is a really fun cache that I did with my parents TFTC SL TNLN!!! (Didn't have a pen so we left a plastool business card.)

Thanks piggysue for this cache.
I also had to resort to the hint here, I couldn't work out the second lot of birds
Easy find once at the right spot, had to pour out the water in the cache and whilst the logbook looks dry it felt slightly damp, TFTC.

We'd come down to Hastings for a bit of a day out and a few caches, and stopped by the playground/bbq area for lunch and to the kidlets play for a while - Ended up meandering around here the entire day
Went and grabbed the clues for this one and then took a nice stroll with the family around the area, eventually finding the cache after some fiddling with the GPSr to get due south just right. Just as well I know my birds!!
Cache found easily enough once at the right GZ. As previous logs indicated, it was soaking wet, so we removed the old log and replaced it with a new logbook in a new ziplock bag.
TFTC and the nice walk around this area piggysue. Now off to the cafe!! (Which was also a pleasantly surprising experience!)

An excellent cache but, as the last six logs back as far as March have indicated, it does need some TLC please.

We started this cache on totally the wrong flight path, overshooting the second site. Once we recovered we gathered all the information and headed to the GZ. It’s amazing that a variation of 10 degrees can make such a difference over 300 or so metres, so you guessed it, we needed the clue to find this one. Cache incredibly wet and in really in need of maintenance.

1st find of the day, and 2464th total find at 13:26.
Thoroughly enjoyed the stroll to this cache, picking up a few other things besides clues along the way.
Unfortunately the cache was sopping wet and NEEDS MAINTENANCE rather urgently, as we were not able to dry out the cache and logbook in the time available to us.
Took: Nothing

Enjoyed the puzzle, often walk in Hastings, but had not taken notice of the mosaics before so thanks for making them a feature.
GZ is so full of rubbish it made us reluctant to delve too deep, but we found the cache after a bit of a hunt.
Might be a good spot for a clean up day.

Really enjoyed this cache, the stroll around picking up the necessary was easy once we got used to what we were looking for. Once at GZ the cache was a quick easy find as it was out in the open. The inside is very wet and the log book was soaked through but managed to sign as necessary.

New to the official world of caching but have been involved since 17th of April 2009 (my first cache find). But have only just gotten a log name. Time to log all the wonderful caches that I have been finding since I have been caching with The Empire. My name in the log book is H.
Good to see Crank1 beating The Empire to caches today while littlecrank and I worked as a team to look for koalas today. We didn't find it. Crank1 did.

Enjoyed following the trail and working the clues towards finding this cache but the choice of location for the actual cache left us scratching our heads as it seemed to have been plonked under a convenient tree and was a bit wet. It would have been nice to have gone into the lovely waterfront park opposite the carvings for the cache, perhaps hidden in the trees there or attached as a magnetic hidden on the waterfront walk. None-the-less we had a good time and visited an area we have never been to before.

digging a hole slightly deeper to hide the cache so it wouldn't be muggled
Any body passing by this cache it could use a new Zip lock bag for the log book as it was damp, i had none on me sorry

This was a good hunt that made us learn how to use our GPS unit better, although I'll probably forget how to do what I had to to get the cache. The young padiwan got a little sick of walking until we found the cache and then all hell broke loose as it was our first travel bug. So we'll be taking it on our trip north in the next couple of weeks.
The area was a bit dirty so we did out bit, cache in trash out. Heaps of rubbish there.

A very enjoyable multi I had time to do while in the area. Had trouble projecting with my GPS but changed across to Bee-line GPS and it was eay as can be. Very few muggles around on this great day.
Last cache during a midnight cache run. Walked around and got the clues to the puzzle and worked out the final coords for GZ. Jumped in the car and drove a couple of hundred meters closer to GZ as it had started to rain again after a pretty big storm front tore through the area about an hour or so ago. Grabbed the torch and headed to the cache location and after a bit of a look around had the cache in hand. Left Mini Cooper S, took nothing, signed log. Didn't see too many birds due to the early hour (3:00am). TFTC.
Found @ 14:15 5th of 7 today while doing a clean up of the Pennisular. Had a little trouble with the birds and WP2 but stumbled onto it whislt redoing some calcs. Then had a little trouble with the final because GPSr was set to magnetic instead of True north. Once that sorted out, cache was en easy find. TFTC TNLNSL
Found by edmil & maddie. We had gone out for a bit of a drive today with no intent of caching - though the GPS was still with us of course. We ended up in the area and doing at least one cache was too good to pass up on. We had just finished lunch at the Cafe mentioned in the Cache description - quite nice I must add. We drove to the first point of the multi the waypoint was easy enough to find and the clues were soon scrawled on a scrap piece of paper. We dawdled to the next one and soon had everything down. We decided we would head straight to the cache - lined up the coordinates and off we went. The cache was soon in our hands. We made no swaps (as we had none with us) but we decided to grab and move the young TB. Thanks for the cache. It made fora nice walk after lunch.
Fab cache to do with toddler in tow!
Had to guess roughly where the cache was by general direction and the distance from the last co-ords. Took a little scrounging around, but we did it!
Thanks very much for this one. Took nothing but emptied out as much of the water as possible and left "Kache Koala" TB in a zip-lock. (Log was nice and dry still.)

Have to make sure that the from last position before you go north to the cach that it's a direct line of sight you take. Dont't allow buildings etc. to change you direction.

By the time we got here it was dusk and light fading fast. We identified the birds OK and made it to the half way mark, but the second part of the venture was quite a bit trickier. Found the cache in the dark more by goodluck than good management. Left a ladybug and took a turtle. TFTC piggysue
On our way back home from coming down to Crib Point to collect a loo for the van. Saw this one was close so decided to give it a look.
The kids were happy to see it was near a playground.
I now understand why people sometimes complain about the maths involved in my first cache.
We had trouble figuring out the 2nd bird at first, which had us supposedly traipsing miles away; didn't like that idea.
Even after the right bird/word was selected, it still took a while to figure it out.
