This cache needs maintenance. Stage 2 is not solvable because the sign has been replaced with a new one, and the information requested is not on the new sign. However, you can figure out the answer to stage 3 without going there. Think about when wireless communications were invented (Marconi) and youll see these is only one possible answer for E, without even reading the sign.Still, you need C and D from stage 2 to calculate the final. Think about what the logical place is for stage 3. Go there. Find the sign. Get its coordinates. From the coordinates reverse engineer C and D.Armed with all the numbers I calculated F and G. It turns out F is not needed because its not used anywhere. At the final location it was a quick and easy 200 meter walk to the cache, which appeared quickly and in good condition.Thats how I did it.
Fun cache but the information needs to be updated as the sign to get info has been replaced with different info. We had to work from the step after to find out the final destination.
Worked it out by skipping the middle step with some guesswork. There has been a signage change so clues need revision.
Down in Tasmania visiting for about 4 days and caching was on the agenda - it was the main reason for the visit. While walking around the Botanical Gardens decided to go off and find this cache. Eventually arrived at GZ and after a short search cache was found. TFTC
While in Hobart today, I decided to head over to the Domain to complete a Multi. I had to laugh, while heading to the 3rd coordinates I passed a van with side door open & speakers filling the whole doorway. they were huge, they had music belting out. The two guys were across the carpark & on the other side of the road the music was so load. I just laughed thinking to myself "why" LOLThanks for the adventure.
A nice multi on this beautiful day. A few drunk muggles around from today's wine festival which was entertaining but GZ was nice and quiet and the cache was a quick find. TFTC!Cheers,The Hancock Clan
Lead me on a merry chase final GZ coords got me close but you have to check all the likely under spots ended up being the obvious but harder to reach one.TFTCCache in good condition.
My wife and I have flown down from Brisbane to Hobart for a short holiday to use up the last of our remaining flight credits collected during Covid. While my wife enjoyed a sleep in, I headed out on a rather chilly morning to find some geocaches on the eastern side of the river.
Travelling on foot I eventually made my way from Rosny, along the waterfront down to Bellerive where I caught a bus back in towards the city to meet up with my wife. The Cenotaph seemed a prominent enough feature that even my wife would find it hard not to navigate her way to. Having successfully rendezvoused we continued our walk into Queens Domain, with a visit to this cache along the way.
Thanks to some research during my pre trip geocache planning, I had managed to calculate the final cache location. All that was required today was locate the cache container. While my wife continued along the track I ducked off to make a reasonably quick find at GZ. All safe and well here. TFTC

Found it back in 2022 with S_38, but forgot to log! We couldn’t find it at first attempt, and had to play around with the numbers. It was a nice walk though!
Found all the information some time ago but today I finally had some time to attempt this one. Unfortunately after searching a number of spots, I could not find it. Hopefully my calculations are correct. Will be back. Thanks for the info about the Domain anyway.
Well, in the end I think I had both numbers wrong, not sure. I went to the likely spot, looked in the likely places, found nothing, so continued walking, looking at the picture until the landscape looked familiar, after quite a bit of searching I finally found a cache. Nice but of history and tour of the area, good to see this still in play.
I had managed to solve a fair bit of this via google before we arrived in town. So for us, it was a rather quick find. I did enjoy the research though! Thanks for the cache Malbena!

Hit Tassie bright and early with beckNmonts and Earthbound Chief for four days of fun caching and a bit of touristing!
This was my very first cache in Tasmania, fantastic to start it off with a Multi.
Massive thanks go to Malbena for placing this one.

Today we found Domain Secrets on our travels. We are back in Tassie with friends and are visiting some solved caches we have
Thanks Malbena for being part of our geocaching fun.

After flying in from Townsville yesterday, I claimed today to collect some challenges and old caches.
While the family was at the playground I ducked off to collect this info and the final for this one. Nice area.
Thanks Malbena for creating and placing this for us to enjoy.

Today we decided to trek into Hobart and find a few more caches that we have not found and to make them a smilie. A very cold, windy and a tad wet but braved the coooooooold weather and rugged up for the occacion.
We worked our way through the waypoints, but the last one had a different sign so reading other logs and a bit of tweaking by Mrs "T" she came up with a set of co-ords that worked for us. After a quick search we came up with the goods.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

TFTC. A slight miscalculation put us off track for the final waypoint. Finally got there.
I was very happy to convert this previous dnf to a yellow smiley. I took advice from previous finders and ignored the convicts. A nice stroll to gz in the rain, with the bush smelling its best. TFTC
What an adventure this turned out to be.
Criminey.
While sauntering around the domain, i noticed this tutu multi on the map that looked interesting and decided to wander down to have a gander at the zoo of old.
I was led astray slightly at the second waypoint, and using some geosense carried on and up, where i thankfully discovered i was right in guessing for the third waypoint..
Then things started to go awry.
Having organised meeting up with another cacher to tackle another multi in the city later, we converged near my projected gz where i again started digging around senselessly..
No luck, so a paf was put out to a past finder where i learnt one number was wrong.. no idea how, the zoo definitely closed on that date and the sandstone walls were definitely that thick (a-c) super weird..
Anyway, with new coords plugged in we wandered over to the new projection and started digging around.
Eventually the cache was uncovered some distance from any coords i had in hand. Sigh.
But the cache was found, happy dance ensued and autographed before rehiding and skeddadling our way back to the car and cemetary's.
Thanks malbena for an interesting goose chase up around and over the mountain..
It's always nice to find an old multi.
Hopefully it gets found this year more than the three times last year.

As stated by the finder before me, I was lead astray on one of the waypoints, but actually already knew approximately where to go.
My calculations gave me the correct place.
I think the sign at the second waypoint may have changed as there is no mention of convicts.

This was a great multi and was a must as it is an oldie, soon found myself at GZ where the well hidden cache was found and is all good
Today I decided to head down to Hobart for the day and collect some targeted DT caches and some others in amongst them for the day, apart from the 30mins of rain the day was quite pleasant for caching.
All up 49 finds and 10 adventure finds.
Thanks for the cache

Hi Malbena
Thank you for multi cache Domain Secrets.
I obtained the necessary information for the early parts some time ago.
I recently had a tour of the abandoned beaumaris zoo and hope next November to see the magazine inside as it seems to be a fixture of Open House Hobart.
Today I had dropped off my daughter at an appointment, had 40 minutes to wait so thought I'd go get a cache. Parked at the parking area below GZ. Found quickly. Tnlnsl, log dry.

Hi Malbena, this is a great multi thank you and has stood the test of time for fourteen years. Loved the Beaumaris Zoo gates. Like Diadem was a bit perplexed at WP2 but the building was right just not built by convicts supposedly and no mention of the other two clues, but it is amazing what Google will tell you. (C) and (D) very difficult if not impossible otherwise. Having said that there might be a sign a little further afield of WP2 which I didn't see. Anyway up the hill and down again and like magic the final coordinates came together and low and behold there was a cache under. All good at GZ. Might have to sneak back at some stage and put some WILD animals in the cache just because. Thanks for sharing the secrets. All waypoints safe and clear of any rubbish. Loved it so a fav point from me.
Day 4 of my trip from Adelaide to Tasmania to visit family and friends and to do some geocaching.
I thought I’d head up to the Domain first up to find a couple of puzzles I’d previously solved and complete a couple of multis I had targeted.
It was a bit interesting wandering around in the bush in the Domain. I came across two makeshift camps close to caches and also heard people shouting at me from a distance to, let’s say, ‘go away’! Not a particularly pleasant start to the day.
However all of the multis were completed without any trouble and all of the caches were found quite easily and in good order.
Thanks Malbena for the cache.

I tried this cache today. Found the first bit of information really easily. Then I ended up at a building that was not built by convicts, and not over the time span specified. I checked and rechecked my calculation. Not sure where I'm going wrong.
Geo kid wanted to check out the old zoo. So thanks for educating the geo kid about the old zoo.
Found during a fantastic trip touring around Tasmania for the fortnight. Thanks for the cache Malbena!
Tassie Trip Day 103 - After a rather quiet day yesterday it was time for a drive and as someone wanted to see the Patch we headed to the domain and the botanic gardens and collected a few more caches in the area whilst visiting and some of this area is wonderful.
This was a nice multi and some very interesting places were visited to collect this informaiton also provided us a very nice place for lunch and a great view to boot. The information was not as good as it could have been as at one location the distance was a little different to that indicated. This was not a problem in the end as it was an easy find in a wonderful area. Thanks to the hint as well made all the difference.
Thanks for bringing us here Malbena.

Thanks for the cache Malbena. Its been a few weeks since I first started at the Beaumaris gates but finally had the coordinates for GZ solved last night. So I dropped by early this morning before work, arriving to find the container rather exposed "outside" its hidey hole. After signing, I re-hid it back in under with a little more cover.
Thanks for the adventure and the tour.

When I first came to Tassie (Born Again = A Geocacher ) in Dec 2016, I started off with 4 Multi-Caches in a row . This one has been an Orange Box on my map for too long so I had to grab this one on my way back to Rokeby by bike after visiting the Taste Of Tasmania earlier
I gathered the info and made my way from WP to WP. At WP 2 I made a slight error but Caching instincts kicked in and I found my way to the WP's well enough. The final was a quick find and the log was signed. Picked up the TB (Geocaching NSW 2014)

{Wow! I didn't know a Lion could jump that far!}

Made a silly mistake at waypoint two but common sense soon had it corrected and the cache was easily found.
Thanks for placing this cache and showing us some spots away for the usual tourist places.

Great enjoyed with Multi, wow interest about history...
Then workout to short drive and walked to GZ, took me looked, sign in as no trouble.
drop TB off.

Gathered info over a few days on drives home from work (the domain is quite central between work and home)
Finally got the time to go look for GZ... found what I thought an obvious place but wasn't too keen to search under the huge spiders web! Rejigged coordinates and found another semi-obvious place but required a bit more bush bashing than had anticipated! Re looked at first spot again to no avail... nearly gave up but decided I'd come too far to not do that bush bash!! Found within seconds after that!! TFTC

Travelling in Tasmania from Geelong, sweeping up few caches before heading to South Hobart.
will come back for more time to wandering around
Thanks Malbena

What do we do on "Back to the future Day" and the day we are waiting for Geo-daughter to give birth to Geo-granddaughter? We go caching in an area near to the hospital!!! Some interesting facts located. Fascinated by the old Zoo. Think that the Royal Engineers may be unhappy at being called "convicts"!! Had picked up some of the sites before but this forced us to find out more details. Enjoyed the stroll to GZ and despite the GPS going round in circles spotted a likely home which produced a dry cache.
TFTC and a favourite.

Found at last.
I kept making the same silly mistake with one of the questions. The PAF option proved most helpful and the corrected coordinates resulted in a quick and easy find.
Thanks for the cache Malbena and thanks to our feathered friend and his friend for the help.

A most enjoyable multi driving around the domain. We had no trouble with the clues although I suspect one sign has changed since they were written. At the final GPS accuracy was not good but the cache was in the obvious spot. As I retrieved the cache a huge cloud of mosquitos? flew out (I did not hang around for a positive id). By the time we came to replace the cache they had hidden themselves away again. The cache is well under but I did not replace all the cover
After an interesting journey around the Queen's Domain area, the time came to park the car and walk to GZ. GPS was a little bit out, and found myself having to ask "where would I hide a cache in this area?" which lead me right to it! Left TB. TFTC!
Really enjoyed muilt and very interest history of old Zoo area, count out, drive up to GZ, diffuclty to find parking, lucky spare room for little parking... Short walk little down, cache was show on ground as lucky cache very well, no trouble... Sign in then return placed with cover... Thanks
FAV for me...

No luck for us - we really enjoyed our 'trip' looking and learning about the domain secrets - we think we answered the questions and did the calculations correctly but we did not find the cache. We may have to start again and recheck everything. Thanks.
Great cache

This one took us a while after we answered a question again! That let us down the road a bit further and there it was.... TFTC
This was a very enjoyable multi. Lots of interesting 'secrets'. Places I didn't know anything about. Cache was a quick easy found. TFTC
Nice little multi which took us to one or two spots on the domain we'd never visited before - so I guess they were secrets revealed for us. TFTC Malbena
Yep, another lunchtime caching adventure with The Goose. Really enjoyed learning about the history and the buildings. I never knew the magazine existed even with all my many years visiting the domain for sporting and entertainment events. There again, this is part of the reason I enjoy caching so much. TFTC.
As a lot of my logs start off.........another lunchtime joint effort with the Bear! Some individual study (and an answer to 'what is that stone building up there?'). Thanks for the fun history lesson and exploration. TFTC
ps. no TB in cache

Walked the whole thing, found all the clues but still couldnt succeed with the final cache. Looked for a long time yesterday afternoon and even returned this morning but no joy. Thanks anyhow.
We found a few minutes today to finish this one. It was great to be taken to some of the places on the Domain that were previously unknown to me. TFTC and the stroll.
The Secrets finally revealed. I had given up on this one until the new Beaumaris zoo cache was placed at the starting point for this one. I had looked for this one a handful of times over many months always wondering why there was no place at my Gz to look at that fitted the hint. Well it turns out that was because it was the wrong place. It wasn't to far away but I had guessed a couple of the answers at a waypoint and that was enough to keep this secret from me. This time I was determined to get the correct co-ordinates so I dug a little deeper and it took me somewhere new but nearby to before. Still I come up short convinced it was near a particular feature. The next day I returned and looked at the feature again before moving on to the right place. I am really pleased to get this cache as I had given up on it.
Thanks to this cache I visited a number of interesting locations within the Domain. Thanks for a very well put together multi Malbena. What more can I say without giving away the secret?
I dont know how i didnt notice this cache when i was up here last so i made the trip to get this one done today.
After googling the domain before setting out i had an idea of where some of the waypoints would be and it paid off later.
I got to the second waypoint and found that the sign didnt read the same as the clue and couldnt glean the answers needed so with a little bit of guess work i was soon at the next waypoint and feeling more like I would find it after all.
I get to GZ and my coords are bang on and so it a quick sign the log and drop off a keyring and take the only TB that's in the cache since its been in here for a while now.
Thanks for the cache and another good walk round the Domain.

Went up and answered the questions on Friday night, but ran out of time to look because I had to run off to work. Back today with Geokids and Geodog, had trouble getting the GPS to get a reading, but Geokid R soon spotted it. Dropped of Tassie Tiger geocoin - Geokid R's idea as this is the closest cache to where there last Tassie Tiger in captivity died in 1936.
The research plus a cross check to Google Erath helped work out some of the parts to this. It was just as well because whilst looking we could hear a lot of roaring car engines and later discovered that the road we would have needed to use was closed off for some car event. Anyway after a double check at step 2 we went to the GZ, retrieved our new container and then located Domain Secrets just a few steps away.
We had put in a cache on the domain only to be advised that it was too close to another, so we had to retrieve it and work out a new spot. The first task though was to find the problem geocache so that we knew how far to move ours. The multi-cache in question was "Domain Secrets" and while in the area we managed to include another multi. We managed to short cut things for both these caches by doing a bit of preliminary research.
During the search Sue found a lot of cards including a drivers licence, presumably stolen from a car parked somewhere nearby.

Had fun finding this one with the kids. Wasn't sure about the co-ordinates until we came across the great hide.
We had to spend a few hours before flying back home, so we did some caching in the area. This is a nice one!

Found some very interesting things on the Domain while waiting to pick up my daughter.
Although i was born in Hobart and lived here all my life i never really knew exactly where the Beaumaris Zoo was. So today i set out to fix this bit of my missing information. Imagine my surprise when they had a sausage sizzle at the site celebrating Endangered Species Day. Held on this day to commemorate the death of the last Tasmanian Tiger at this very zoo in 1936.
As for the second wp - hmmn i never knew it was here?!?
Felt like i had grown up in Hobart with my eyes shut.
Thank you for bringing me to all these places.

Did first have by walking and last two waypoints by car. Lovely walk and area. TFTC.
What a great walking tour of the Domain. We really enjoyed this morning of exploring, thanks
Solved this one on a sunny autumn afternoon. All participants including the junior members enjoyed the experience of walking from point to point.
The "course" was well designed - many thanks.

Having time to fill in before the flight home so what better way then a few multis. Having done several waypoints earlier we finished off this one and head down to GZ. was a nice walk and easy find. Thanks for showing us around the park and some old hidden secrets.

Late night all Aussie bush adventure! Was great fun to find, we walked the whole thing!
Ok I wasn't going to attempt this one myself but my GEOnewbies, Sonic89 and SaintBlash87 really caught the GEO bug
and convinced me that we should do it. Got to the first waypoint easy then it started to get harder, mind you this was all done at around 23:30 on a Monday night! We eventually found it together and walked the whole thing. TFTC Taskforce70

An enjoyable multi that took us to a few places in the domain we were unaware of. Thanks.
I had been past WP1 of this one last evening and was quite intrigued, particularly with the reference to the last domicile of the Thylacine. I was hoping to have enough time to try for it this afternoon/evening so I decided to give it a shot. With all the info collected, I rushed to GZ where I quickly had the stash in hand at 17:30 in the very rapidly failing light.
TNLNSL, although our night cache geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Malbena.

A walking day around the Domain today, so this one was a must. Interesting way points, most I would not have suspected as being here.
The first one was a bit weird having nothing inside a fancy gate!
Thanks, Robmc.

What a great way to visit some of the sites of Domain.
Totally enjoyed it all and included it as part of jog.
Well Done on a great Multi-Cache.

Beautiful day for a history lesson and stroll.
Gps (iPhone) a bit hit and miss amongst trees so using aerial pics helped orientate.

Found by Mary & David, in company with Team Crackers, at 1455. Another interesting multi near the river, with points of interest to appeal to all. Each location showcased a place with early history, but each one different in a scenic area. Very satisfying to finish off with the find. Our thanks again to Malbena.
Continuing our tour of Hobart and surrounds with maccamob, with not many multi's planned for this trip, we are sure glad that we did this one. We had lunch at wpt1 while collecting the information and finding out quite a bit of history that we knew nothing of. We then headed off to wpt 2 where we were very impressed with what we found and know that we would have never have seen it if it wasn't for geocaching. Wpt 3 was again quite an interesting location and then after the calculations were done we headed off for a pleasant stroll to gz where maccamob had the cache in hand soon after
Thanks Malbena for a very enjoyable interesting cache

Suscoe found this one on 11th January on a nice warm morning.
This was a great way to find out about the Domain and a most enjoyable wander around the area.
GZ was a bit tricky with the gps bouncing around but finally got there

I had planned to do some of the long standing caches in the domain this trip as so many of teh older caches in Hobart have gone by the wayside before I was able to get around to finish them.
This was a nice evening's entertainment and not too much trouble to find.
I do wonder at time the abundance of single males lurking around the carparks up here though.
Thanks
