Unfortunately, I'm no longer in a position to maintain this cache. It has gone missing several times now, and it really needs to be moved to a new location, or archived. I've decided to archive it. However, the code you need for this cache is available on the final cache page of "Business Traveller's Cache". Cheers, dak.
Had a pretty good look in the area of the clue and couldn't find it. Hope it hasn't gone again. Thanks anyway the Mob.
Blast! Looks like this one has gone missing again! [:(!] I'm disabling it until I decide what to do about it. If I can find a suitable alternative location, then I'll move it. Otherwise, it's history. Stay tuned. Cheers, dak.
hmmph. Couldn't find this one when the park was empty, so I went and checked the hint and logs, and went back. Park was suddenly full of muggles, and I still couldn't find it. I think I was looking in the right place, but all I could find was dirt, twigs, grass, broken glass, and a yellow cable. Thanks for the hunt!
Thanks to DAKS for putting this one back online during our visit.
After visiting the area I thought we should come back and check out the cafés and we did.
Mrs Parrot returnd with me several days later. So many cake shops, so much coffee.

Visited this one with SA_Parrothead today. We replaced the cache. I couldn't see any sign of the 'yellow cable' that people have mentioned. The cache is now a 200mL Sistema container. Cheers, dak.
Hadn't read the last couple of logs since generating the cache page. The yellow cable is a real concern. We consider this cache MIA.
Enjoyed the Sunday Arts and Crafts Market and the ambiance of Acland Street.

It looks like this one has gone missing, yet again. I'm also a bit concerned about all this talk of a yellow cable, although I don't believe it poses a risk to geocachers. In any event, I'm disabling the cache for the moment until I can check it out. I will archive it, if I think there is the slightest danger. Cheers, dak.
Same experience as previous cacher - the yellow cable we pulled out was partly broken, and seemed to belong to the lantern. There was nothing in any of the holes...
Nice park, didn't find the cache but did find dead baby possum and several discarded "used" condoms.
Found what we now know is GZ, but no cache to be found in any of the "openings"? Did find a large yellow cable which made us a little concerned about poking about any harder. Muggled?

Found it with ConcreteGnome in this unique hiding place. The log showed a confused muggle named Kelly had found the cache. She left a lipgloss /50c and put the cache back where it was hidden. Well done Kelly. TFTC

A nice hide which we had to wait to retrieve due to a football game going on and GZ was the watering hole! Once the teams had left we found the cache with out problems even if the kids didn’t want to leave the near by park. Little did they know that Luna Park was the next stop….

I sent the typically non-caching Riverside Baker from Washington State, all the way to Melbourne to drop off a couple trackables for me, the non-travelling RainbowsFancy. On my behalf, he dropped off Cheer Bear and a Canadian Geocoin, which were well overdue for some travel. I heard he had to take two runs at the cache as the first attempt was overrun with muggles. Second attempt in the wee morning hours was successful! I hope Cheer Bear isn't shocked by the changes in climate...

Some people may say the winter rain is not good for geocaching, but really it means you can grab some of these muggle tricky caches a lot easier. Easy find, quick grab

Lots of muggles about with their doggie friends...one pesky pup insisted on us kicking his ball as we were trying to log our visit. Felt like rent a pup! Took a red gallock ( squirrel) and left a samuri man from "Japanese Please" cache. Enjoyed ice cream in Acland Street after find. Thanks for the hide Dympna
Guessed the hiding spot for this one upon approach to the area. First round of peeks by Spice were less than helpful and then the gadget sent us around and around the garden like teddy bears. Ended up back where we started and it was left to Fairy for "just one more" good look. Retrieval and replacement was quite tricky under the eye of a young family playing nearby, as well as quite a few passers-by. Left a ruler and took the Geosmurf Travel Bug (our first TB). He's now on his way to Sydney with us. We spent a bit longer than planned doing this one but luckily there was still time for coffee and cake in Acland Street before jumping on the tram back to our apartment in the city.

Arrived at the cache scene to find a black wallet on the ground next to the likely cache hiding spot. Not what I expected from a Dak hide.
Gently opened the wallet and noted a set of devices that Ben Cousins might have been going to use. All neat and in the wrappers. Disposed of wallet in nearby bin. Hopefully that is one less addict on the streets of St Kilda.
After that I very carefully looked for the cache, which was a Dak cache in the right hiding place.
I doubt that you need to be warned in this part of town but be careful.

The Travel Bug, "Mr. B", is missing from this cache:
Thanks to those finders who have reported the fact. I am currently conducting an investigation to determine its whereabouts. I am contacting all the finders since 21 December 2006 to see if they have it, or can remember seeing it. This process may take some time, as I have to write to each finder and await a reply. There were 13 finders between the TB being left and the first finder reporting it missing. When I have completed my investigation, I'll report back. Stay tuned.

Another one in the series knocked off, I hope I can find all the parts of the clues when I'm done! An easy find thanks to the clue at 13:25 by Kev and Jess with Stephanie in town visiting for the Sustainable Living Festival, after a stroll along the Esplanade and out to the end of St. Kilda Pier.
I was staying nearby for a conference, and thought I'd use the early morning to go for a stroll and see what I could find. Found the GZ without any difficulty and immediately realised where the cache must be.
I was a bit reluctant to go poking my fingers in, so used a tool to complete the search.

Took my friend Pam geocaching. She loved it! Didn't take too long to find the cache, but it was mildly exciting due to many passers-by and of course the possibility of being bitten by a poisonous spider...
Sent the kids in to hunt this one as we felt quite exposed in this open park despite there not being anyone close by. TNLN. Thanks
I fianlly got around to finishing this series with this cache off line during my initial go with this series back in June. Nice to finally find the lucky last. Did not of course need to take clue this time. Thanks Dak for this and the rest of this most enjoyable series. They were filming a short film nearby in the park so extra stealth employed lest the cache hide is revealed on camera!

Wookus, The Bug, Kezzy and Possum found this cache pretty quickly and left a friend, TB Larry the Lizard, here for a nap. He's such a cute critter he's bound to make a new friend soon.
Sorry to report that this one has been muggled. I had previously found it and was back to check on the clue but the cache was not there. The area has been gardened so maybe that is the reason. I will report in more detail directly to Dak's.
Looks like this one is MIA. Thanks o Alansee for the advice. I'll replace it soon. Sorry about the inconvenience. If you need the code to complete the cache, plese send me an email. Cheers, dak.
Found at 11:14. Retrieval was easy and swift. Sat down and explored the contents. Replacing cache not as easy. Playground was being worked on by council workers - not easy waiting for all to be facing away at the same time. But patience is a virtue and cache restored to its hidy-hole with a Brass bookmark taken and a Deck of StarWars Playing Cards + Next! Stamp left and SL.
Found 19:25. Staying nearby while in Melbourne to see the Lion King. Only had the chance to get 2 Cache's in Melbourne , far too busy living to cache (Is that possible! ). Easy find, signing log and returning to its location not so easy. Just when cache was in hand a man came out of the darkness with his two Dobermann's running wild, must admit it did scare the s..t out of me (Not as much it did Mrs Ermalesh back in the car). Had to pretend to be writting in my Pocket PC, seemed to work, he just went on by, Thankfully! TNLNSL. TFTC.
Actually saw the cache as I was approaching gz so I left it a little further in (although still just visible if you know where to look). Scrape marks also indicate this one may be accessed regularly? T Trumpeter L Corocodile. Thanks DAK.

Found while visiting friends who live just around the corner. They had never been geocaching before, so were quite perplexed by the little "goings-on" right under their noses. Retrieved the cache fairly easily, but had to try the ol' shoe lace tying trick to get it back without making things seem to obvious. Took butterfly bookmark Left an icepop holder. Thanks Daks
Nice quick find, though I did have to look in the spot twice before I spotted it. There was really only one structure it could be in though. Took a ball and left a soldier. Thanks dak.
After much debate as to whether my car parking spot required a ticket or a parking permit we settle on taking the risk with neither ( and yes it paid off). Found the cache without any further dilemna. TNLN. Thanks for the cache.
My first cache, and the first log for this cache in 2006 @ 8:36 pm. Was amazed at how accurate the location and my GPSr proved to be. Interestingly someone else is also using the same 'structure' as a stash for their smokes in another of the holes in the base. Took Brutus TB, he's off for a trip to Africa tomorrow, left bull dog clip and metcard... forgot to get the clue for the BT cache...doh...! never mind I'm often down that way so can drop by again and remember this time...!
Thanks for the trail, I'm looking forward to the others.

Well, I picked a stinking hot day to do a couple of caches in St. Kilda.. 42 I believe it finally got up to - but it was probably only in the mid 30s when I retrieved this one. After checking all around, I pulled it out and sat down to do the log, when I noticed a figure under a tree looking right at me. So I held onto the container for a bit and waited while he wandered up and down the street. There was a sleeping bag in the park, so maybe that's where had spent the night. Anyway I took it with me when I went off to the Botanical Gardens to see Frisky and when I returned he had left so I was able to replace it. The sleeping bag was still there, so if he returned, I hope he didn't go poking about. Thanks for the trip. Ackland Street is wonderful, but not good for the waistline !

In the area for the office Christmas Party, I took one person from the office along for this one. The GPSr took us right to the spot. I am amazed at how accurate Dak gets his coordinates.
After Council crew left after spent waiting for an hour, before swifted to find this cache but no cache can be found. Will come back and have another go. Possibly it may be taken by muggles. Thanks for the hunt.

Had a wonderful walk past all the cake shops to get the caches in this area. On our way back to the car we found the park and I headed straight for GZ. Justin's GPSr decided it didn't want to play anymore, so we searched the most likely spot. We were interrupted several times by children, and with their agility we realised if there had been a cache there, it would soon be muggled. A call to the maccamob hintline confirmed we were looking in the wrong spot, so we changed our search pattern and found the container soon after. Took recipe and left letter opener.
This was a GAFF 1 find. Got to the park on this quite afternoon in the rain so no muggles around. Thanks dak's for another interesting cache.

Good little park with only a couple of muggles in it today. GZ was very easy to find and the cache located in seconds. Took some recipe cards and left Eeyore. Love the restaurants around here, so we got this one just before dinner.
Another one in this series in the bag today, and this time I remembered the other thingy!!!! Had a muggle eyeballing me while I was sitting and filling in the log which delayed returning the cache a bit, but I managed OK when he turned away. No swaps today. I reckon the structures at GZ must have had a different purpose at one time.
Thanks again Dak

Part of Team Bert is studying in Australia this semester. Here is part of her attempt at geocaching down under:
"Happy Father's Day! Well, my present was going to be spreading the work of Team Bert to Australia. I checked out the geocaching website, and I thought I found some caches that don't require a GPS ... drove out to St. Kilda and found a park 'south of Acland Street' but it was dark by the time we got there, and we couldn't find a place here a geocache could be hidden, even with the additional hint. But I was certain we could find the next one, so we moved on."
Thanks Emu Mob for another great cache to read about from far away. These are 'why we cache' cache pages. Makes us want to visit some day.
