This was my very first find. Awarded a favourite point by me to honour the work of a legendary cacher who has now gone to his eternal reward.
Attempted this cache at 8:30 with the swaggie's we both had a pretty extensive search for this cache but unfortunitly i think may have been muggled, hopefully somone may prove us wrong shortly.
Thanks for the hunt.
Thanks for the hunt.
First of the day on our Williamstown assault and our first DNF of the weekend. And things did not look good here. The clue said not on the car, but there was no where else to put a container of this size. The whole roundabout has been stripped of the vegetation that was there before and now there is just gravel and about six little grass trees about 12 inches high. So we DNF'd for the second time here. May need a checkout by someone local who has found it before. Thanks acts for the cache.
Had just knocked off the nearby GCA cache so thought we'd make this our final before heading home....
Checked the obvious structure. then checked the hint. Hmm... how could one hide a regular sized cache in this circle of barren land?? And there's notes about bushes and stuff... Hmm.... Either these guys are excellent hiders or something's amiss and the ground here has been re-landscaped. The tiny new grass plants, sandy surface soil and bulldozer tracks seem to indicate the latter. Might warrant a check....

Found it on the way home at around 18:20. Loads of muggles in cars, so be careful.
Left an orangey red sharpie highlighter.
Thanks for the opportunity to look at the car upclose (we pass it nearly everyday).
Probably the best view of Melbourne from here too - enjoy!

Definately not a quick find for us! In fact, we searched under the car twice, searched & rumaged through the bushes top to bottom, all the way around, 4 times over but still could not locate the cache. We did this at night (8:30pm) with string torches so are baffled as to why we could not fund the cache. Might have to come back during the day.
we were struggling when a car passed by and a guy said are you geocachers, we said yes, he said we see so many people looking for the box we can walk their and back finding it with our eyes closed, also look in those bushes and you will see a black container. see ya.
found it.

Find 3/6 for the day, was scrounging around for ages before my friend predictably found it before me. I've done two of the caches in the series so far, slowly making progress!
An amazing day with woodenbuttons, were able to squeeze in a cheeky geocache during our running around Melbourne.
Had quite a good look, though a muggle stopped to ask me what I was doing and seemed quite concerned about the car. In the end the heat was getting to me and it's not the kind of location where I'd want to be searching for ages. So maybe another time.
2nd attempt at this one, i was able to see it last time but just to hard to get to. Too many muggles around. i left a mini dice and took the mini kiwi.
thanks

LOL. I worked near here for years and thought I knew all the worthwhile spots, how the heck did I miss this? Thanks for pointing this spot out.

Another night of Street orienteering around the streets in the vicinity of the cache so I just had to drop on by and check it out.
You know you get a lot of traffic around this little island and it makes it rather difficult to get when the traffic keeps on coming at you.
But, with camera in hand and faking a few artistic shots the cache was retrieved and taken away for better examination.
Once the log was filled out it was another entertaining sideshow to get it back where I found it.
Thanks for the cache and entertainment.

Cute little car.
Lots of cars pass by this location.
Hard to be inconspicuous sitting in the middle of a round about amongst the bushes.

Found at 0850. Drove past this one yesterday with a mate of mine, but didn't have my GPS with me, and he commented that there's probably a cache there. Well low and behold I arrive at GZ and there it is. Between ducking in and around bushes, cars and rubbish, the cache was found in a lot simple style than I thought it would be.
Thanks dak.
Thanks dak.
Old find - but new log...
Phew! Needed Kia1's help to find this one. Ended up looking simple! Love the car - great decoy too!

Boy, this turned out to be reansonably hard given the coords were out a bit, even on Google Earth.
This certainly wasn't our first go.
With the help of Corrots3 and little traffic we soon had the little "B" in hand.
Great name for the hide. This one felt like a real feather in the cap.

Stream Of Cacheousness #5
This was a stream of caching that was to take me along a ribbon of freeway from Williamstown to Frankston.
I feel a special reverence when doing DAK caches. This was kinda special, I imagined Dave standing looking at this little car with a smile. Tricky hide in a way...well, I made it tricky.

Once we reached the vicinity of the cache, it was quite obviously where the cache would be. A guy in the van stopped us and said something incomprehensible. He had a very thick accent. We just said "no" and he drove off. We retrieved the Blingg's Belle and Holden TB from the cache and signed the log. Thanks for bringing us there.
This was our first Business Traveller's Cache find and we're keen to get the rest. Very interesting little spot.

~12:20 King Jnr and Squire. On the BT trail, Squire played in the car while I completed the find. Squire insisted on helping me sign the log though. Thanks for bringing us out here, I have not been out this way for several years. The car is in need of repair, a new engine (checked it out) and also some panel beating. RIP. Had a couple of strange looks while trying to find this cache, such is life.
Found at midday by Brotex. Another cache where having kids present makes searching in unusual places appear acceptable. We even got a wave & smile from the local council truck as it drove around the roundabout.

Found the spot but not the cache. Too many muggles about at midday. And when I decided to get down on my hands and knees for a proper look, a local 'City of Maribyrnong' vehicle appeared so I had to move on. I'll be back though.

Yay for this series and being close to public transport. I'm temporarily not an independent traveller, but I needed a caching fix today, so trams and trains got me there. Fortunately I'd printed out the coordinates for this one because I completely forgot to load them into my PDA before I left home, and so I couldn't find the second cache I'd intended to visit. I felt a little conspicuous hunting here, but it was fairly quiet and the cache was soon in hand. Took nothing, left BlueBun TB. Interestingly odd spot! Thanks for the cache.
How discret can you be in the middle of a roundabout? At least the car is a diversion, but I felt silly showing so much interest in it, and sitting in it while I logged my find was even sillier!
TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache, and the next piece of the BT puzzle!

drove past this roundabout many times, not knowing a cache was there the whole time. We made the visit on our way home, on a very very hot day(39c), but managed to find quickly. took cache under the shade of a near by tree, left our mark, took wine bottle stop and left golf tee. non muggles in sight!

I’m not sure what possessed me to try for this one after work in peak hour (Perhaps the Bad Mojo Geocoin works by just thinking about it) but I discovered this quiet back street is a very busy shortcut about 5.30 pm.
It is very difficult to ‘fade into the background’ when you are 6 ft. and standing in the middle of a busy roundabout.
I am sure all those potential muggles thought they saw a strange man with fetish for fibreglass, toy cars with the amount of close inspection carried out however the find was made and the cache finally replaced.
Took Geocoin
Left ‘Herbie’ car (most appropriate)

I had been working in the area today, so I decided to drop by and try my luck with this cache. I purposely left my work safety jacket and field gear on, so all I had to grab before I started my search was my digital camera. This then enabled me to safely perform an 'engineering site evaluation' at GZ - ie, a cache search!

"Well yes, it is a nice view of the city from here", he said as he snapped a picture with his mobile phone. Or least he pretended to as some guy in his car drove suspiciously past.
That's the advantage of wearing a tie when you're caching. They assume that you're a council engineer or something just checking out the integrity of the roundabout.
No cars in sight, do the deed, and get outta there before the kids in the school across the road start getting interested.

Ha Ha Ha. Very good. It all comes clear when you get there - in Ashburton (NZ) where we live, cars do this as a habit. Rely on the GPS - it works. Amazing view of the city - stunning panorama. Thanks for this. Took nothing left geocaching bracelet.
